Part 1/6
POKéDEX:
Charmander - It has a preference for hot things. When it rains, steam is said to spout from the tip of its tail.
*BOOM*
A loud, heavy sound goes off through the air. I immediately jolt my head up from my bed with blurry eyes in confusion on what's going on. I quickly sit myself up and look around in a panic.
"I'm awake! I'm awake! I'm... a... wake?"
I slowly start to calm down as I look around the room in front of me, eyes squinting as I try to figure out what happened. What's going on? Where am I? I start to rub my tired eyes with my hands so that I can see clearer. That sound must have woken me up, but what was it? I put my hands down and look around again. Oh yeah. I think I'm in Mary's room. I look to my right to see the foot end of a bed raised above beside me. Then I look ahead of me to see a door slightly skewed open and a desk with a computer on it to the right. Yeah, this is definitely Mary's room. I lean my head forward out from my small dog bed to see if there was anything happening on the other side of Mary's bed. From my angle I can't see anything, not even the window in the wall near the head of the bed.
Wait... tapping... constant, repeating, fast tapping noises kept going on and on from over there. What is that noise? I stand up from my bed, keeping my flame on my tail up high from touching anything, then put my hands up and stretch out. I give out a yawn, roll my head to shoulder to shoulder, then walk around to the side of Mary's bed. Being shorter than the bed, I look over on the tip of my toes to see if Mary was still laying there. Nothing. She's not here, just empty blankets. I look to my left over at the window with the curtains covering it. It sure sounds like that's where the tapping is coming from. And it looks like something is trying to cover the outside of the window from what I can tell too. I look down at the alarm on the dresser right below the window.
6:32 AM
Ah, of course. No wonder why I'm tired. Mary usually wakes me up around seven or eight. I climb up onto Mary's bed from the side, then jump onto the dresser with the alarm on it. I take a few steps over to the curtains to grab it, then I pull it enough to see the window behind it. The outside of the window was covered in a complete blur of water running down all over it with the outside sky covered in dark clouds as well. A thunderstorm. So that explains what woke me up. I rub my eyes again then let go of the curtains and turn around. Looking back as Mary's room, I can see her desk with her computer on it to my right, her bed in the corner to my left, a wooden shelf with a few toys and books in it against the left wall behind Mary's and my bed, and the door slightly ajar just opposite from the shelf on the right wall.
Mary's purse, however, is still here by her bed. With that still being here then that means she must still be here. I walk over to the edge of the dresser and hang off of it with my hands, then drop down onto the floor. I wonder why Mary didn't wake me up. Usually when she gets up in the morning she would wake me up too. Unless it was in the middle of the night or something. I walk over to the door and pull it open for me to go through. When I walk though, I find the main hallway of the house that lead to the different rooms around the house. Mary's older sister's room sat in front of me. An opening that leads to the kitchen was to the left of her room, the bathroom door stood just a bit further down on the same side of the hallway as Mary's room, and the front door that leads outside the house was at the far left end of the hallway, past the two main rooms.
I stood at the door frame sniffing the air for a moment. No food is being made, and I don't hear anything either. I walk to the opening of the kitchen through the hallway and look inside for anything. Walking into the kitchen, I look around for any signs that could show that someone was here recently. Other than seeing the top of a cereal box on the tall table up high, there was nothing here. I continue to walk forward around past the table to the other end of the kitchen that lead to the living room. In there, the couch sat empty with no one else nearby, and on the other left side of the front door, the TV room sat empty too with no one there. Not even the TV was on.
. . .
There's... no one here. I look around the room again for any signs of someone. Nothing.
"Mary?" I call out. No response. "Maarrryy!" ...Still, nothing. Other than the rain hitting the windows, it's completely silent. Wait a minute, the bathroom! Maybe she's in there!
I run around the living room back into the hallway and stop in front of the bathroom. I look up at the door and give it a few good knocks.
*Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!*
"Mary? Are you in there?" I wait for a response. Nothing.
I drop to my hands and knees and put the side of my face to the ground, trying to look through underneath the door.
"...Mary?"
Nothing but darkness on the other side. She's not here either. I stand back up and look around again for anything.
"MAARRRYYYY!" I cried out.
She couldn't have left without me, could she? No. She would never do anything like that. I walk back to the living room in front of the kitchen. Maybe something happened. Maybe she had to leave for an emergency or something. No, cause even then she would have still told me.
"Hmm..."
I put my hand to my chin and looked at the coffee table and the couch outside the kitchen in the living room. Hey, wait a minute. Something's not right here. I walk up to the coffee table and start to examine it. Wasn't there something here before? Was it a pot? Or... no... flowers! Right, there were flowers here! They weren't in a pot though. It was a... bunch of flowers, all bundled and wrapped together. Yeah, like flowers for a gift. I remember now. They were here from last night, I think. Mary had bought them for something. But what for? Did she ever tell me? I think she said she bought them cause they "looked nice"... But they're not here anymore. So that means... something DID happen!
I climbed onto the coffee table and start to look all around me.
"Hrrrhh..."
Something must have happened here, and this is a clue. Those missing flowers must mean something. I stop looking around and turn to look at the kitchen behind me. Maybe there's other clues as well. Something that can point me to where Marry went.
I hop down from the coffee table and head back into the kitchen. I look around again for something strange when I then notice the top of the cereal box on the table from before. That box is suspiciously placed up there at this time of day if you ask me. Maybe it's another clue. I walk to one of the chairs and climb on top of it, then onto the table. Mary doesn't usually let me be on top of the kitchen table. She says I could fall off and get hurt because of how high it is. But this is an emergency, and I need as many clues as possible if I'm going to find her. Being on top of the table now, I could see everything on top of all of the counters, and even in the kitchen sink where a little bowl sat at with a spoon. As for the table I'm standing on itself, nothing but bits of cereal and the cereal box itself was here.
"...I'm not giving up that easily you box." I say as I squint my eyes at it. I approach the cereal box and start to look at it closely. "Honeree not... Keeri... Oh's? Eh..."
