Prt 5/6

"Ok think, Charmer, think! How did Mary use this thing to search up other Pokémon?"

I began to look all around on the screen for something that looked familiar. The bottom of the screen has a few icons on it. I... think I remember Mary clicking on one of those to get this thing to show up about the Rattata. Maybe I should... I tried moving the arrow on the screen to move onto one of the icons on the bottom. I stretched out my arms a little to try and keep myself balanced as I tried to move the arrow with the mouse using my foot. When I final got the arrow to move onto one of the icons, a little blue "e", I then pressed one of the buttons on the mouse using my toe's claw, and the entire screen then suddenly changed to completely white. Oh no. Was that the right button? I stared silently at the screen for a while, waiting for something to happen, when then the whole screen changed to what looked like a beautiful cliff side with large words and a white bar in front of it.

"Wooow..."

No wonder Mary uses this thing a lot. This looks amazing!

". . . Ack! Focus! Focus, Charmer!"

I looked at the new screen that had changed and looked at the white bar. A small tiny black line sat to the left blinking on and off. Almost as if it was waiting for something. I think this is the part where I can search for things. I took my foot off of the mouse and looked at the black board full of buttons in front of me on the desk. Hmm... I guess I should spell out Mary with this thing.

"Mary... Maaaarrryyyy..."

I know there's an M in it, so... I leaned down and clicked the M button on the black board, then I looked back up to see if anything had changed. The letter M was now in the white bar with the tiny blinking black line to the right of it.

"Ok, that's a start. Maarryy... Maaarrryyyyyy..."

I look back down at the black board. I think there's an A next in her name, right? I look around on the board, looking for the A button. This board is awfully messy for being able to do many things. You'd think they would make it more easier to use or something. I continued typing out Mary's name how I'd think you would spell it. "M. A. R. E..." I look back up at the screen to see if it was put in right. The word "mare" sat in the white line, just as I had typed it out. Ok, cool. I sat there staring at the screen for a while, waiting for something to happen. Um... I don't think it knows I'm done yet. I look back down at the black board, then look back up at the screen. As I looked around for something, I noticed a little blue icon of a circle and a line sticking out of it at the end of the white bar. A "Q"? Maybe it means question or something. Hmm... where is Mary... I look back down at the mouse and position my foot over it again. Then I moved the little arrow on the screen to the blue Q near the end of the white bar and clicked on it. The screen sat frozen for a few seconds, then the entire screen changed to white and filled up with hundreds of words written all over it.

"Oh... Wow..."

Words covered the screen from top to bottom. Some in blue, some in green, and even just plane black. It was a little overwhelming.

"Oh - why does technology always have to be so complicated?" I murmured as I put my hand to the side of my head. I took my foot off the mouse and closed my eyes, thinking to myself.

"Ok," I say, "It's not that hard." I open my eyes and put my hand back down. "If Mary is able to do this herself, then..." I lean towards the screen at the words in front of me. "doing this is nothing. And if I can find Mary with this..."

I began to try reading the words on the screen. A lot of the words were long and bunched up together. It started to become difficult to understand.

"Maree... a maree... is... Wait, what? Am I reading this correctly?" A female horse...? That doesn't make sense. Mary's not Pokemon!

I began to look more at the screen, looking at different lines of words. Mary, Mary... This isn't telling me where Mary is. This is about... a horse, I think? I looked away from the screen and started blinking rapidly. Agh, my eyes. The screen is so bright, how does Mary look at that thing without hurting her eyes? I started walking to the left side of the desk, rubbing my eyes a bit until they felt better again. Wait, what's this? I put my hands down to examine something. On the wall a bit to the right of the door was a calendar. It had boxes gridded all over the bottom half of the calendar with half of those boxes crossed out with red Xs. But something was weird about them. All of the boxes with red Xs stopped all the way to the end of a circled box with something written in it. I walked closer to the calendar to try and read the word in it.

"Respect..."

Respect? Respect for what? I took a step back looking all around at the calendar again. There was nothing else here other than that one box circled.

"Respect, respect."

Respect for what? Respecting? Is it a day when you respect people or something? ...I don't get it. I stood there on the desk with my hand to my chin trying to think of what it could mean. Whatever this is, It HAS to do with Mary's disappearance.

"Hmm..." A white flash suddenly brightened up the room for a split second. "Huh? What was - ?" I turned to look at the window in Mary's room to where I thought I saw the flash come from.

*BOOM*

"AAAAHHHHHH!"

A loud bang went off through the air and I jumped up, backpedaling away from the window. I took another step back and felt my foot swing through the air with nothing to catch it. I began to loose my balance as I then fell off of the desk onto the floor below me.

"Ouf!"

In a panic, I immediately picked myself up from the ground and ran towards the closed door, jumped up to grab the door knob, turned it open, and ran into the hallway on the other side, slamming the door shut behind me. I faced the door taking a few steps away from it with my hands raised in front of me.

"It's- It's lightning." I said to myself "It's nothing to be - afraid about."

*BANG... BANG...*

"ACK!"

I jumped again in confusion as to where the sound was coming from this time. I looked over at the front door all the way at the end of the hallway past the living room.

"Wha - ?" I slowly started walking towards the front door. Is... is there someone here? I stood just outside of the hallway in between the living room and the TV room, keeping a fair amount of distance from the front door. I waited there for something to happen again. Then, the door knob began to jiggle and twist.

"Ah - !"

The door began to open slowly as cold air rushed into the room, chilling me and freezing me in place. My heart began to beat faster and faster as I started to go into a panic once more. A tall figure in all yellow began to reveal itself as the door opened wider and wider. And in the spur of the moment, I feared that this creature was going to strike at me. I quickly slammed my foot behind me to firmly stand in place, faced the creature head on, took a deep breath, and closed my eyes.

' Ember! '

"CHAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!"

A heat rose within me, and a stream of fire shot out from my mouth, stopping the creature in its path. The creature jumped back with a scream, when then I heard it call out.

"Charmer! Stop! It's me!"

Wait a minute. That voice, I know that - ! I immediately stopped my fire breathing and put both of my hands to my mouth, covering it. The yellow figure with its arms up to protect itself lowered them back down, took a few steps forward, then raised its arm to its head, grabbing its yellow hood, and pulling it down behind it, revealing its face. A young smiling girl with long pink hair wearing a yellow rain coat stood at the doorway, drenched with water all over her. Mary!
