Prt 6/6

"MARY!"

I ran up to her and jumped into her arms as she knelt down to me to pick me up.

"Hey..." She said, "I was kinda hoping I would make it back before you'd wake up."

A sudden flash of light went off behind her, then a loud boom. I grabbed onto Mary tighter as the sound shook me to my core.

"Heh, I guess that explains what woke you up so early, huh?" She lowers me back down to the ground then pats my head a few times. "Don't worry, Charmer. It's just sound. It won't hurt you."

"I'm, not afraid." I tell her. "It just - hey wait, where were you this entire time? I've been looking all over for you!"

She continues to close the front door as she then starts to unbuckle her rain coat, still dripping with rain.

"Oh, don't worry. I was just... visiting an old friend of mine..." She says as she then hangs up her coat on the coat rack. "You must be hungry, huh? Want me to make you something?"

Hmm. I guess I am still a bit hungry. All this looking for clues has really worked up an appetite.

"Hey!" I tell her, "Can you make me that ham sandwich thing you made yesterday?"

"A ham sandwich?" She asks as she takes off her shoes.

"Yeah!"

"Umm. I was thinking about maybe scrambled eggs. What do you think?"

"I like that! Scrambled eggs sound good."

"Heh, ok." She chuckles, "Well, get yourself a plate and I'll start making you some."

She then walks around the living room and starts heading towards the kitchen, turning on the lights. Food. I guess with her gone, I've never realized how much I would miss her without her being here. I'm glad that she showed up safe in the end though. I don't know what I would do without her.

"Chaarrmmeerr! Why is there cereal all over the floor?!"

Uh oh.
