Hey guys, welcome to my second Fanfic (I also write Izuku Midoriya: The Copycat Hero). I'm going to rotate between the two stories. This one is going to focus entirely on an OC unlike the other story. I have a lot of time to write for the next two weeks because of classes and work shutting down due to the Coronavirus, so I'm going to spend a lot of time writing over the next couple weeks. I'm going to stick to one chapter of each story each week after the first arc of this is over to make sure neither of them are rushed. The entire first arc for this story will be uploaded by the end of next week for this story then I'll switch into 1 chapter a week per story.
Now then, time for the first chapter of The Demon of UA.
"Who is he? That guy's already saved 100 people at least and it hasn't even been ten minutes? This is… this is crazy. I can't believe it!" The mans cries filled the mostly empty room only to be heard by the small boy that sat alone in the room. Akamine Yoshito is a five year old child that was obsessed with heroes, and he was rewatching the debut of the number one hero in the country, All Might. The screen showed the flaming building surrounded by people that had either escaped or been rescued by the hero, it was like something from a nightmare, but to Yoshito it brought him hope. "Look! He's got more!"
The camera quickly focused on the blonde hero as he walked up from the wreckage carrying more civilians with a smile on his face and he let out his now iconic laugh. "FEAR NOT CITIZENS, HOPE HAS ARRIVED! BECAUSE I AM HERE!" This brought a smile to the pale face of Yoshito who watched as All Might put the people down and the video ended, leaving him looking at his reflection on the now dark screen. His black hair was styled in the same fashion as Endeavors. He was a small child, even for his age, wearing a blue t shirt that matched his eyes.
He's the coolest hero ever, and when I get my quirk! I'm gonna be just like him! We can team up and fight bad guys, and save people, and I could be his second sidekick! And I can meet other heroes like Endeavor or Orca!
Yoshito looked around the room at all his merchandise. He didn't have nearly as much as his friends, his dad couldn't afford to get him everything he wanted, but he always got something for his birthday each year. His favorite poster was of All Might, smiling in his uniform in front of UA High, his old school. It was right next to his Gang Orca poster, and a shelf with his Endeavor action figure. His three favorite heroes.
One his desk sat an old desktop computer with a sketchbook full of rough sketches of different heroes, and his ideas for what his costume could be like. Most of them were large flashy costumes with flowing capes and designs based on other pros he admired.
"Akamine! It's time for bed! You've got school tomorrow." The door opened and Yamane Akamine stepped into the room wearing his police uniform having just gotten home from work. "Don't forget, you're sister has her entrance exam tomorrow so you'll be going over to the Tokoyamis after school." Yamane reminded his son, much to his disappointment. Tomorrow was Friday, the day Akamine normally watched Okamura practice with her hydro quirk. Like Akamine, his sister wanted to be a hero but instead of setting her sights on UA she wanted to go to Shiketsu High because it's closer to home.
"Yes dad." Akamine slowly climbed into bed and stared at the posters on his wall for what felt like forever as he slowly drifted off into sleep.
I just hope that I can be like them when I grow up.
HAHAHAHA
Akamine bolted up at the noise, the distinct sound of laughter was unmistakable, but as quickly as it came it left. Akamine reached over to his desk and turned his lamp on, looking around his room, his still practically empty room. He tried to climb out of bed but almost fell over as his head felt like nails were being driven into his skull. Again the laughter filled the air around him, but the source was nowhere to be seen. The pain slowly died down and Akamine took a step forward. He nervously looked around and called out to the empty room.
"He hello?" Akamine frantically looked around only for the response to come not from his room, but his head, the noise drove him into the ground as his head pounded with each word that was spoken.
"So, this is what I'm stuck with. Tell me child, you worship these heroes, these beings of immense power yet you yourself had no power. Why?" The deep booming voice echoed through his head slowly fading away after the last word was spoken.
"Wh who aa are you?" Akamine slowly looked up to try to find the source of the voice.
"No no no, you can do better than that, I will answer all your questions, but first you will answer mine." The voice spoke more softly, but it was still intimidating for the boy.
"A I w wanna be like them, save people, and stop vi villains." Akamine cried out, the pain in his head becoming too much.
"And to do that, you desire power. I can give you power. Power to rival even All Might."
"You can do that?" Akamines nervousness faded as he heard the voices offer.
"I can do many things. Speak the word, and it will be done, I am here to serve you." The voice assured the child.
"O okay, I want the power to be a hero." Akamine started jumping up and down.
"So be it." The voice smugly stated. Before Akamine could ask anything else he felt the nails return as to points of pressure built up where his hairline meets his forehead, he let out a scream as he felt heat build up starting in his chest and spreading its way through his body.
"Akamine!" He was vaguely aware of his sister throwing the door to his room open and the heat disappeared, replaced by pain as his sister blasted him with her quirk. "Oh my God are you okay?" Steam obscured her view of her brother as it filled the room.
"What's going on?" Their father joined her at the door and looked in as the steam faded. Akamine was hunched over on his knees facing away from them crying, they rushed to his side and Okamura almost fainted.
"Rise Akamine." The voice returned, and the pain faded away. The small child slowly looked up.
"A Akamine, your quirk." Yamane started to speak but the child didn't hear the rest of what his father was saying, he was busy looking at the reflection in the dark monitor on his desk. The pale child was gone, replaced with a boy with blood red skin, and two slightly lighter horns protruding from where his black hair met his face. He opened his mouth to speak, to be greeted with a set of pointed teeth. He looked down at his hands to see they were the same shade of red as his face, slowly he reached up and touched the horns, seeing that they were real, his face shifted from confusion to pure happiness.
"I have a quirk."
That morning on his way to school Akamine tried to speak to the mysterious voice again once he was alone, attracting some strange looks from people, but he ignored them for the most part.
"So, what's your name?" Akamine cheerfully asked the voice, since his transformation his head no longer hurt when it spoke, and it gave him a quirk. He didn't know what he could do yet, but at least he had a quirk now.
"I do not have a name yet child, but if you want my opinion, you may call me demon, as I am your quirk, and it is a name I find most fitting."
"De Demon? But isn't that a bad guy name?" Akamine paused and his cheerful mood faltered.
"Yes, it is a villainous name, just like your villainous appearance. It will be up to you to prove you are not a villain if you desire." Akamine frowned as the voice made a comment about his new appearance.
"I look like a villain? But I don't wanna be a bad guy." Akamine practically started crying. The voice let out an audible sigh.
"Of course not child, I was simply saying what people will no doubt tell you as you grow up. I know you have the heart of a true hero, and I will help guide you down the path to greatness and help you learn to control your new abilities." Demon assured the panicking child.
"Y you'll do that? You know what my power is?"
"PowerS plural, you will grow into them, for now I have only granted you the first of your abilities. Your new form will help you harness your strength, but if I were to bestow all your abilities on you now you would perish in a raging inferno."
I don't know what a lot of that means but it sounds bad.
"What can I do?"
"You wish see? Very well, then go to the roof of that parking garage to your right." Akamine looked over, then back ahead of him the way he was going.
"But what about school?"
"If you wish to see what you can do safely, then you must go to the roof."
"Can't I see it at school." Akamine paused as he thought about his options. Demon chuckled before responding.
"Very well."
