Chapter 11: Dawn of the Duel Board
Hey everyone! It's me, sakuraphoenix, and I'm back with a new chapter! I know, I have updating issues, but hey, I'm working on it! Anyways, disclaimer time.

I have to admit, dueling with Dawn on the track was a lot more fun than dueling in the house.
"I activate the effect of Speed World 2! By ditching all ten of my speed counters, your Defender becomes decommissioned!" I exclaimed
Sakura LP 1800 SPC: 0/ Dawn LP 1500 SPC: 6
"And now I think my Flamvell Grunika has a little something to say to your life points! Let 'em rip Grunika!" I exclaimed
Sakura LP 1800 SPC: 0/ Dawn LP 0 SPC: 6
Smoke began to exit her duel runner as she narrowly pulled over to stop her runner.
"You've really improved in these past two weeks. Has Winston been helping ya out or something, because I've barely turbo dueled with you." I said while walking up to Dawn
"I-It's not that!" exclaimed Dawn
"Relax, I'm cool with your relationship. I'm your sister, not mom. It's cool." I said
"You're… okay with Winston and me being… together?" Dawn asked while blushing
"Hey, you like Winston, he likes you. I can tell the signs Dawn. I'm not an idiot, and besides, I never stop anyone in love." I said
Dawn smiled before I saw something in the sky. I think it's another one of those stone tablets, and if it is, another Orichalcos Fragment's gonna show!
"We gotta book." I said
Third Person P.O.V.
Akane just arrived at the crash site with the stone tablet. Immediately she took a small knife from her belt and cut her long hair short, not long enough to go past her shoulders, but enough to put it in a simple bun. Akane then activated a communication device.
"It's Akane. Another tablet fell. There are Orichalcos fragments with this one too. The guys from Yliaster will be here soon to pick up their little toy." Said Akane
"It's fine Akane. Let the boys play with their toys. Anyways, I have a job for you." The mysterious woman said
"A job?" asked Akane
"How do you feel about going to school?" asked the mysterious woman
Dawn's P.O.V.
I can't shake what happened yesterday. The whole crater was sealed off. I've love to talk to Karen about this, but she's out sick. At least Chris is substituting for the day. I hope she'll be here tomorrow.
"Okay guys, now that everyone's in order, we've got a new student. You can come in." said Chris
The door opened to reveal a girl in the Duel Academy Girl's uniform. She was wearing a black choker with a green stone embedded in the fabric, but she had orange hair with parts of the hair tied back in small pigtails and had blue eyes.
"Hello everyone. My name is Hibiki Tsukikage. It's nice to meet all of you." Said Hibiki
And most of the boys had ga-ga eyes when they saw Hibiki, and she sent a wink towards Matt's direction. Good thing he pretended not to see it. Wait, never mind, he's asleep. Man, he's like his dad sometimes.
"Hey Krystal, wanna kick this girl's behind into next week next period?" I asked
"Sure. I bet she's not even a great duelist. I mean, I've been improving and all, but still, she looks like a piece of cake." Said Krystal
And Krystal was wrong.
"Now let's finish this duel Magician's Valkyria! Attack!" exclaimed Hibiki
Krystal LP 0/ Hibiki LP 1000
"Well, it's not a total loss. At least you got a huge chunk out of her life points." I said
"Thanks, but I still suck." Krystal said while glaring at Hibiki
"Not true. When was the last time you won a duel?" I asked
"Last week." Said Krystal
"And the time before that?" I asked
"Last year." Said Krystal
"See? You are improving." I said
"Okay, Dawn, Matt, you two are on the field!" exclaimed Chris
"Well, we'll see who's better. Elemental or Destiny." Said Krystal
"Yeah. We will." I said
"Good luck out there Matthew." Said Hibiki
"Uh, thanks." Said Matt
"On your mark, get set, duel!" exclaimed Chris
Dawn LP 4000/ Matt LP 4000
"I'm up first! I summon out Destiny Hero – Fear Monger in attack mode! (ATK: 1000/ DEF: 1000/ LV: 4) And with that, I'll place two cards face-down to end my turn!" I exclaimed
Third Person P.O.V.
As the duel progressed, Winston noticed that Hibiki was frowning when Matt barely seemed to make a comeback for parts of the duel. He then noticed a strand of purple near her bangs.
Later, Dawn's P.O.V.
"What?! Hibiki was looking at Matt during the whole duel?!" I exclaimed
"Yeah, and not only that, but she has this strand of purple in her hair, but it didn't look like a dye job. It was under her hair, like she's wearing a wig or something." Said Winston
"Yeah, and didn't you notice how she looks so much like Karen?" I asked
"You know, now that I think about it, she kinda does." Said Winston
"Can you relay all of that to Chris? Maybe Karen knows something." I said
"No prob. Thanks for having lunch with me Dawn." Winston said as he got up from the table
"Anytime Winston." I said
The next day…
I was walking into Duel Academy when I saw Hibiki talking with Matt and then head inside the school.
"Dawn!" exclaimed Winston
"Oh, hey." I said
"I just heard back from Chris. Karen's still out of commission for a while, but he did talk to her about Hibiki." Said Winston
"And?" I asked
"And it looks like Karen has no idea about Hibiki or the coincidence. Looks like we need to call in Nancy Drew for this one." Said Winston
"Or Sherlock Holmes." I said
"Or The Doctor." Said Winston
"Or the Hardy Boys." I said
We then laughed at our list of detectives. I was waiting by the main door for Matt, hoping that he wasn't two-timing Sakura. She'd be steamed if she found that out. But that was when I saw Rose and Sara.
"Rose! Sara! Have you seen Matt?" I asked
"Yeah. He took the back entrance because he really didn't want to go with Hibiki to her house today." Said Rose
"That explains it." I said
"Yeah. He really didn't. Honest. But then I saw Hibiki and the new guy in the lower grade levels, Lester, I think that was his name, in a limo. Luna and Matt both got in." said Sara
"Say what?! Do you know where they could've gone?" I asked
"Probably their house. If I recall, it's like ten blocks down make a right and it's on your left." Said Rose
"Thanks!" I exclaimed as I began running
Matt's P.O.V.
I really felt uncomfortable. How was I going to explain this to Sakura? Considering the fact that my runner's in the shop right now, and Hibiki along with that Lester guy are giving us a ride to their place, this is not looking good.
"We're here." Said Hibiki
Luna and I looked outside, and our jaws practically dropped to the ground! They live here?!
"Whoa! First the car, now this amazing house?! Wow Lester, what other surprises do you have in store for us?" asked Luna
"A few." Said Lester
"I have to agree with my little brother." Said Hibiki
"I can't wait." I said with sarcasm noted in my voice
When we entered the mansion, we saw some guy with black hair in a Victorian monkey suit!
"Welcome home young master, mistress, and guests." Said the guy
"Why, thank you." Said Lester
"Who's this guy?" asked Luna
"Our butler. Could you make us some lemonade and bring it out to the patio later?" asked Hibiki
"Of course, right away." Said the butler
Dawn's P.O.V.
Man, I'm not on the track team. I can't believe I'm thinking this, but I wish I was still a Dark Signer. I had so much more stamina back then! Still, when I get my claws onto Matt, he's gonna wish he never came!
"Leo!" I exclaimed in surprise
"Dawn?" asked Leo
"Trying to get in?" I asked
"Yeah, why?" asked Leo
"Because Matt is up to his ears in trouble!" I exclaimed as I began climbing the bars
Leo climbed next to me, and we landed in the driveway, and found them, watching that Lester guy and Hibiki, on skateboards?! At least I think that it was!
"What is that?" asked Leo
"You got me!" I exclaimed
"Lester, Hibiki, what are those things?" asked Luna
"It what I wanted to show you Luna!" exclaimed Lester
"Same here Matt!" exclaimed Hibiki
Those things were almost as fast as a Duel Runner!
"Wow! You're amazing with them!" exclaimed Matt
"Thank you Matthew. Wanna give it a go?" Hibiki said as she got off her skateboard
"Really?" asked Matt
"Yep! Lester and I have a thing for making things, and we made these for you and Luna." Said Hibiki
"You… did?" asked Luna
"Yep! It's a present from me to you. Here." Lester said as he gave Luna the skateboard he was riding
"Uh, thanks. I really don't know what to say." Said Matt
"Don't mention it. You can try it out right now, in a duel." Said Hibiki
"A duel?" asked Matt
"How do you duel on a skateboard?" I whispered-slash-asked
"Yeah, in a duel. This is a Duel Board. It's kinda like a Duel Runner, just not as dangerous. You plug in a Duel Disk and you're good to go." Said Hibiki
"So it's some kind of Duel Board? We so have to tell the guys about this." Said Leo
"You said it." I said as I activated the teleport spell card and got us out of there
Later…
"A Duel Board?!" Jack, Sakura, and Winston exclaimed in unison
"Yeah! It's kinda like a skateboard with these things go on your feet, and there's a cord that attaches onto the board after you plug it into your duel disk." I said as Leo drew it out
"Okay, rewind. So with this thing, you don't need a license to use a Duel Runner to Turbo Duel. Never thought I'd see the day." Said Sakura
"What do you think Yusei?" asked Leo
"Dunno. I mean it looks simple enough, in fact, I bet we have the parts to put on together right here." Said Yusei
"Yeah, and I think John could have the same things at his place." Said Winston
"So we can build one?!" I exclaimed
"Wait, are you saying we can make one of these things right now in the shop? Oh Yusei, we've got to! That way if Lester tries any funny business, I'll be ready for him! Will you do it?" asked Leo
"Yeah, I guess so." Said Yusei
"Yeah. That way, if that Hibiki girl tries something Dawn, you got Matt's back!" exclaimed Winston
"Hibiki?" asked Sakura
"This new girl, Hibiki Tsukikage." I said
"Hibiki Tsukikage, eh? Sounds like an alias." Said Sakura
"An alias?!" exclaimed Winston
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Tsukikage isn't a real surname. It was made up for this character from Heartcatch Pretty Cure named Yuri Tsukikage whose alter ego was Cure Moonlight. Tsuki means moon while Kage means shadow. Literally, it translates into 'moon shadow', but it really means 'moonlight', and Hibiki was the name of the lead cure from Suite Pretty Cure, Hibiki Hojo, whose alter ego was Cure Melody." Said Sakura
"You watch too many Magical Girl animes." I said
"Hey! I like that stuff! Still, I'm getting a bad feeling." Said Sakura
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot, she always wears a choker with a green stone in it." I said
"A green stone? Now I'm worried. Hibiki or whatever her name is could be allied with the Orichalcos." Sakura said in worry
"Wait, Winston pointed out purple hair before." I said
"Purple hair?! Now I'm scared. It could be that Akane girl." Said Sakura
"What if you're right?" I asked
"Then we need to build a Duel Board." Sakura said before grabbing some of the items that we would need to build one
I don't know how long we had worked, but when we finished working on the duel board, I was testing it out, seeing that I had better balance than Sakura.
"You're lookin' good Dawn!" exclaimed Sakura
"Better than you!" I exclaimed
"Yeah. Let's see if we can find Matt." Sakura said as we began looking for him
We found him on one of the roads that was building a duel track.
"Sakura. Dawn. What are you two doing here?" asked Matt
"Dawn told me about the Duel Board, and Hibiki." Sakura said before giving Matt a mock-glare, not that he knew
"Sakura, I can explain." Said Matt
"Don't worry. If you think I'm gonna punch you or something because I think you're two-timing me, you're wrong. I have faith in you. After all, I don't become just anyone's girlfriend." Said Sakura
"Aw, how sweet, I think I'm gonna cry." Said a familiar female voice
We looked around and saw Hibiki on another road, Duel Board on deck.
"I've had enough playing 'nice school girl' for a lifetime." Hibiki said before getting back on the road
She threw off the wig, and revealed short purple hair with pink highlights! Oh shoot! It's Akane!
"You know how to break a chain? You go after the weakest link!" Akane exclaimed as she jumped in the air
Third Person P.O.V.
Chris was driving by when he saw Akane remove the wig. He stopped his Duel Runner in shock.
"Hibiki… no, that girl, she looks like Karen!" exclaimed Chris
"I will tell you one thing; I'm out soul snatching today! And I think I'll be starting with you Matthew Yuki!" exclaimed Akane
"What makes you think that I will Akane?!" exclaimed Matt
"That's the thing, you won't. I see you like my little booby trap. Now then, I hope you like this next one from the one and only Akane Tsukimori." Akane said before Matt's Duel Board had a life of its own
"Tsukimori?! I gotta tell Karen!" Chris exclaimed as he drove off
Matt's P.O.V.
I was completely helpless as the Duel Board began having a life of its own.
"See, I got tired of the old alias routine. I'm in the mood to snatch a soul, and I thought that I'd start with you. Once you fall, Sakura and Dawn will be easy pickings." Said Akane
"Bring it on!" I exclaimed
"Alright since you asked for it. I activate Speed World 2!" exclaimed Akane
The familiar Speed World 2 card came into play, and we got onto a duel track.
Akane LP 4000 SPC: 0/ Matt LP 4000 SPC: 0
"Ladies first. Talk about my lucky day. I now activate Speed World 2 – The Seal of Orichalcos!" exclaimed Akane
"You can't do that!" I exclaimed
"I can. This version of the Seal of Orichalcos allows me to play it like it was Speed World 2, in fact, it's treated as such until the end of the duel." Said Akane
"Oh great." I sighed
"And now that that's out of the way, I summon Aratama in attack mode! (ATK: 800-1300/ DEF: 1800/ LV: 4) Now, Aratama's ability activates! I can add one monster from my deck to my hand so long as it's a Spirit monster, and I choose Izanami! I'll place two cards face down, and now that it's my end phase, Aratama, return to me!" exclaimed Akane

"How did you do that?!" I exclaimed
"Aratama is a Spirit monster. At the end phase, all Spirit monsters return to the owner's hand. Don't tell me that you sleep in all of your classes Matthew." Said Akane
"Hey!" I exclaimed
"It's your move." Said Akane
"Uh, right. Here I come!" I exclaimed

"For my move, I summon Elemental Hero Wildheart! (ATK: 1500/ DEF: 1600/ LV: 4) And if you like him, then you'll love his ability! He can't be affected by trap cards!" I exclaimed
"He what?!" exclaimed Akane
"Now who needs a lesson in dueling? Attack her directly Wildheart!" I exclaimed

"Quite the move there. I'm almost impressed." Said Akane
"Yeah, whatever. I place two cards face-down and end my turn." I said

"My turn again." Said Akane
Akane LP 2500 SPC: 2/ Matt LP 4000 SPC: 2
"I summon Rakshasa in attack mode! (ATK: 1500-2000/ DEF: 1900/ LV: 4/ Attribute: Dark) And with this, I reveal Izanami in my hand to return Wildheart to yours! Now that you have nothing protecting you, I'll have her attack!" exclaimed Akane
"Not quite! I activate Negate Attack! So much for your first plan." I said
"Lucky draw. I end my turn with Rakshasa returning to my hand." Said Akane

"That was close. It's my move!" I exclaimed

Okay, so that Rakshasa card can send monsters back into my hand, but only when they're face up on the field!
"I set a monster and play a face-down to end my turn!" I exclaimed

"That was lame. Here I go!" exclaimed Akane

"I summon back to the field Rakshasa! Now, attack his set down monster!" exclaimed Akane
"Yeah, that's my Elemental Hero Clayman! (ATK: 800/ DEF: 2000/ LV: 4) And thanks for activating this, the trap Clay Charge! Since you targeted Clayman for an attack, your Rakshasa is destroyed, and you get slammed with 800 points of damage!" I exclaimed

"Nice trick. No one's managed to do that on me for a while. I end my turn." Said Akane

"I wonder why. Here I go!" I exclaimed

"I summon back Wildheart! Now, I switch Clayman into attack mode! Wildheart, get her life points!" I exclaimed

"Clayman, do your thing! End this duel now!" exclaimed Matt
"I activate the trap, Mirror Force! Say good-bye to your monsters!" exclaimed Akane
"Oh shoot! I have to end my turn!" I exclaimed

"Not so tough now, are you? My move!" exclaimed Akane

"Finally! Took me long enough to find you! I remove from play my Aratama to special summon Izanagi! (ATK: 2200-2700/ DEF: 1000/ LV: 6/ Attribute: Dark) And now that he's out, my monsters don't have to go back into my hand anymore! Now, I summon Izanami! (ATK: 1100-1600/ DEF: 1800/ LV: 4/ Attribute: Dark) Now go Izanagi, and Izanami! Attack him directly and end this duel!" exclaimed Akane
"I think not! I activate Call of the Haunted! Clayman, help me out!" I exclaimed

"You're wasting your breath. Next turn, you're finished!" exclaimed Akane
"We'll see about that!" I exclaimed
Though honestly, I'm scared now. I need a game changer right now. Come on deck, give me something I can work with. Suddenly, the top card began to glow. What's going on? Suddenly, I find myself in this castle with Sakura and Dawn with me. Next thing I see, this knight in red armor comes up to me and bows.
"Will you hurry up?! I don't have all day!" exclaimed Akane
What was that?
"Here goes… everything!" I exclaimed
Akane LP 200 SPC: 7/ Matt LP 2400 SPC: 7
I then drew a dragon, but this card wasn't in my deck before! Regardless, I think I have a plan.
"I activate the Speed Spell-Speed Fusion! I send Elemental Hero Woodsman and Elemental Hero Ocean to Fusion Summon Elemental Hero Terra Firma! (ATK: 2500/ DEF: 2000/ LV: 8) Now, I normal summon, Elemental Hero Ice Edge! (ATK: 800/ DEF: 900/ LV: 3) Now I activate The Claw of Hermos!" I exclaimed
"Since when did that card get in there?!" exclaimed Akane
"Since now! So I fuse Hermos with Ice Edge!" I exclaimed
It's gonna be something big, I know it! But then my hopes were dashed as the fusion created a sword out of ice. Talk about embarrassing!
"Oh well. Pride later. I equip Ice Edge to Terra Firma, and once per turn, he can freeze your field, meaning your cards are rendered useless!" I exclaimed
And all of her cards were iced over. I was about to declare my attack when I heard a voice cry out:
"Akane!"
We looked and saw Karen in a blue kimono with a face of shock as she saw Akane, who also had a face of shock when she saw Karen.
"Why does that girl… look like me?" asked Akane
"Don't you remember her? She's your sister!" I exclaimed
"I don't have a sister! I… I…" started Akane
She gripped her head in pain as the seal on her forehead began going bonkers! I then saw someone jump, and the next thing I knew, the seal was gone. I then saw Antea on the bridge next to Karen with Max carrying an unconscious Akane.
"Why did you end the duel?" I asked
"It was an outcome that didn't need to be seen." Max said before he used Akane's Duel Board to ride away
Sakura and Dawn then rode up to me, and I just looked at the card that appeared in my deck.
Sakura's P.O.V.
We had met up with Alex, told him what happened, and decided to check back at some places for clues.
"Uh, are you sure this was the place?" I asked
Dawn and Matt told me about some mansion, but all I see are a bunch of weeds.
"Yeah! It was huge! Akane and that Lester kid said they lived there!" exclaimed Matt
"It could've been a hideout for the Orichalcos, but it's gone now." Said Alex
"In any case, the Orichalcos are probably working with Yliaster, and Antea doesn't even know it. In any case, we all need to be on our A-Games." I said
And prepare for the worst. Because if I don't learn Accel Synchro, I'm as good as gone.
