Chapter 16: Old Enemies, Older Grudges
Detroid: We're back for some more Turbo Racing or should I say in this case, Turbo Dueling Action of Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's!

Okay, let's see if this stupid engine will finally work with us, well that was before I heard a duel runner outside, being turned off.
"Were we expecting a visitor today?" Crow asked
"Uh, no." I said while looking at the door
"Then, who could it be?" Akiza and Dawn asked in unison
That's when the door opened up to reveal a really banged up Grace!
"H-Help…" Grace said before she fainted
"Grace!" I exclaimed as we all ran around her to see what was wrong
And she was bleeding, big time! We needed to treat her, stat!
"Yusei, get the first aid kit. Dawn, Akiza. Help me with healing her." I said
"Right!" Yusei replied as he went to get the first aid kit
"How did this happen to her?" Akiza asked as she and Dawn helped me with healing her but it just wasn't working
"I have no idea. Until Grace can recover, we're not getting any answers anytime soon." I said
A few hours later since we last helped Grace heal and stuff, she was starting to wake up.
Grace's POV
"W- what happened?" I asked
"Easy. You've lost a lot of blood. It took all three of us to heal you up and some more." Sakura told me as I noticed the bandages on my right arm
"Last thing I remembered was almost dying… not soul stealing way but actually dying... I was turbo dueling someone when I almost died. I barely got away." I explained
"A psychic duelist. Who else has that kind of power?" Sakura asked out loud
I soon nodded as I was trying not to show that I was feeling frighten on the inside since I was. I… I almost died to this person because I lacked the skills to win. Maybe dueling isn't cut out for me anymore.
"I know what you're thinking Grace." Sakura said to me
"And what would that be?" I asked Sakura
"That you should quit while you're ahead." Sakura told me
"That's part of what I'm thinking but the other thing is maybe I shouldn't live anymore." I told Sakura
"Also saw that." Sakura told me
"But... I have to duel him again... I'm supposed to meet him at the docks." I said as I tried to get up but well, my shoulder was in so much pain
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Take it easy, feisty pants. You're not going." Sakura said in a stern voice
"I… I have to! You don't know what would happen if I didn't!" I said as I tried not to show tears
"You didn't let me finish. You're not going without backup." Sakura finished
"T… thank you but… I have to do it by myself." I told her
"If Sakura says you need back up then you'll get it because I'll help as well." Akiza added in as she walked in
"You can say that again." Dawn said
"And let me guess the motto for you Sakura. If someone messes with one of us then they mess with all of us?" I said
"All for one, and one for all." Sakura said in agreement
"You've been reading The Three Musketeers again." Dawn said while deadpanning
"Thank you…. everyone." I told them as I was crying tears of joy
"Hey, we're your friends, and that's what friends are for, right?" Sakura asked me
"I guess I should get some sleep since, ya know. With the shoulder and everything." I said
"Yeah. We could all use some rest." Sakura said
We all soon went to bed later that night. I was soon woken up by my Duel Runner's alarm system, saying it was almost time to meet that duelist again. I was about to walk out when I heard Sakura, Dawn and Akiza walking up towards me.
"And where are you going?" Dawn asked me
"I'm going to meet the duelist. So what?" I told them
"What did I say earlier?" Sakura asked me
"Still... I don't want to drag you three into it." I replied
"Well, kinda late now…" Akiza said while trailing off
"Fine… You three can come." I said while sighing in defeat
"Besides, we have your back if you have ours." Sakura told me
I soon smiled as we went to the place where the duelist was going to show up, which was the docks. In all honesty, I really hope that this guy is a no-show. We all soon made it to the docks where it was quarter to 11.
"The person should be showing up soon." I said
"Are you hoping that this guy would be a no-show?" Sakura asked me
"I hope not since I kinda want payback." I told them
As on cue, the duelist showed up in a cloak with a hat that the person was wearing. What was he hiding? A ridiculous scar that made him look like Zuko or something?
"And I thought you would have chickened out Grace." the guy said
"No, I wouldn't and to make it harder. A 4 against 1 duel. What do you say?" I asked the guy
"Not interested." The guy said
"What's the matter, ya big thunder chicken? Scared?" Sakura asked in a mocking tone
"Did you take that from Volt?" I asked Sakura
"That and he kinda looks like a chicken." Sakura told me
That got the guy to growl before he drove onto the freeway and we soon followed. Guess that kinda changed his mind.
"Speed World 2 activated!" said from everyone's duel runners
"A Turbo Duel is about to commence. All non-dueling vehicles, please vacate the combat lane." An automated voice said as the Turbo Dueling lane lit up like a Christmas tree
We saw all of the cars and vehicles leave the lane for us to turbo duel. Time to show this guy what we got! I soon turned the corner first followed by Sakura, Dawn, then our opponent and finally Akiza. So we now know the order of the turns. Let's get started!

"Since I made the turn first, I draw!" I yelled as I drew my card as I looked at my hand.
"Sakura, what will Grace do?" Akiza asked Sakura
"No idea. That's what's going to make this duel count." Sakura said as I looked at my hand
"For my first move. I summon Jet the Master, in Attack mode! (ATK: 1800/ DEF: 1900/ LV: 4)" I said as I placed Jet on my Duel Disk
"Her ace on her first turn?" Akiza asked Dawn
"Hey, Sakura does it almost all the time." Dawn told Akiza
"Hey Jet, want a power boost for your attack?" I asked him
"You have to ask?" Jet asked me back
"Next, I activate from my hand, the equip spell card, Type-J!" I exclaimed
"What an amateur. Don't you know you can't play equip spells dueling a Turbo Duel?" our opponent asked us
"You didn't let me finish." I told him before continuing:
"I activate the Speed Equip Spell card from my hand."
"A what spell card?!" Akiza, Sakura, Dawn and the opponent exclaimed at the same time
"A Speed Equip. It's a special type of Equip Spell that can not only be played in a Turbo Duel, but in a Ground Duel as well! The best part, I don't take the 2000 points of damage penalty. And here's it's effect. Since I have Jet on the field and in Sonic Riders, he is a Speed type so… he gains two more effects with this card!" I exclaimed
"Now that's what we're talking about! We're in business!" Jet exclaimed as he jumped onto his Extreme Gear
"The first part of the two new effects is, he gains 500 more attack points times the number of levels he is. Since he's a level 4… he gains 2000 more attack points (ATK: 3800)!" I explained
"That's more like it!" Akiza said
"And for the final effect, I gain a speed counter every standby phase!" I finished explaining
"In other words, we gain one, while you gain two?" Sakura asked me
"Yeah unless you want me to destroy the card?" I asked them
"Nah. The extra speed counters will come in handy. You'll be able to access Speed World 2's effects more easily." Sakura told me
"I end my turn with a face down. Your move Sakura." I said as I laid the card facedown

"For my first move, I summon Flamvell Grunika! (ATK: 1700/ DEF: 200/ LV: 4)" Sakura exclaimed
"Oh yeah!" Flamvell Grunika exclaimed as steam came out from his nose
"I activate my facedown card! Fire and Wind Correlation! Since there is a wind and fire type monster on the field then both monsters gain an extra 500 attack point boost!" I said (Flamvell Grunika ATK: 2200) (Jet ATK: 4300)
"Oh yeah! Feel the burn!" Grunika exclaimed as he showed off his muscles
"Can you catch the wind?!" Jet exclaimed
"It's still your move, Sakura." I told her
"I know, and since none of us can attack on our first time, I'm placing three cards face-down and ending my turn." Sakura said as she placed three cards face-down
"Let's see what you can do Dawn." Akiza said

"For my first trick, I'm summoning Destiny Hero - Defender in defense mode! (ATK: 100/ DEF: 2700/ LV: 4)" exclaimed Dawn
"Please. I seen better from your sister." the guy said
"Well, I wasn't done yet! I activate the Speed Spell - Acceleration Limiter! So, for the next two turns, you won't be getting any speed boosts with Speed Spells because you can't gain any!" exclaimed Dawn
"Nice one, sis!" exclaimed Sakura
"I don't need any to win!" the guy exclaimed to Dawn and Sakura
"Right… Anyway, I'll throw these two cards face-down to end my turn." said Dawn

"I'm up! Draw!" the guy exclaimed

"Before you forget, you get to draw an extra card because of Defender's ability." Dawn said to the guy
"Thanks, not. Try this card as my first trick. I summon out, Mysterious Assassin in attack mode! (ATK: 1500/ DEF: 1200/ LV: 4/ Dark/ Warrior)" the guy exclaimed
We all saw the card when the card appeared on the field, the assassin was holding a familiar sword from somewhere but I can't put a finger on it yet. I can't worry about that now. I must stay focused on the duel.
"For now, I'll activate my Assassin's ability." the guy said
"What does that do?!" I exclaimed
"See, I can attack you guys directly on my first turn and not only that but, when he attacks, his attack points are doubled!" the guy explained
"Say what?!" Akiza, Dawn, Sakura and I exclaimed at once
"So, Mysterious Assassin, attack Sakura directly!" the guy exclaimed as he turned his duel runner towards Sakura
"I don't think so! I activate my trap card, Magic Cylinder! Guess what bud, your attack has just been backfired!" Sakura exclaimed as she activated her trap
I saw that her card wasn't activating at all.
"Sakura! Your card isn't activating at all!" I yelled to Sakura
"What?!" Sakura exclaimed in shock
"You guessed it right, Grace. See, by sending from my hand, Mysterious Knight to the graveyard, all of the face down spell and trap cards are negated for the remaindered of this turn." The guy explained

Sakura barely maneuvered in time so the only damage she got was a scratch on her cheek and some of her hair being cut away.
"That was a close one." Sakura said while cupping her cheek
"That's not all… see, my assassin has a second effect. He can attack again! So that's twice in one turn!" the guy explained even more
"Oh come on! Really?" Sakura asked out loud
"Check your life points Sakura." the guy said to her
"Just try and attack me. I triple dog dare you." Sakura said to him
"No. Mysterious Assassin, attack Dawn directly with Killing Blow Strike!" the guy said
"Killing… That was the name of a sword from a game but… from where unless…." I thought to myself before knowing from where then yelling:
"Sakura! Dawn! Akiza! I know where that assassin is from!"
"Well, wherever he came from, he's gonna have to deal with this! I activate the effect of the Kuriboh in my hand! For the rest of this attack, your little attack strategy just hit the dust!" Sakura exclaimed as she discarded her Kuriboh to save her sister
"That card… is from Fire Emblem Awakening! He said "Killing" and who wielded a Killing sword in that game?" I asked Sakura and Dawn
"It's Lon'qu!" Sakura exclaimed in shock
"Took you long enough to figure it out!" the guy said as the mysterious assassin removed the cloak, revealing Lon'qu
"And let me guess, the Mysterious Knight is Frederick, right?" I asked
"You guessed it." the guy said
"If Chrom's in that deck, I swear, I'm going to kill him, whoever you are." Sakura said angrily
"I activate from my hand, West Khan: Basilio's effect from my hand." the guy said
"What does that card do?" Dawn then asked
"By sending him from my hand to the graveyard, I can summon out a level 5 monster from my deck to the field and he can then attack you directly!" the guy explains
"H-Help us." A girl voice exclaimed from the guy's deck
"Oh boy." Sakura said in a worried tone
"T-that voice. Sakura. That's Lucina's voice!" I exclaimed
"I heard it." Sakura said in a worried tone
"And that means…." I trailed off
"We're in trouble." Sakura finished
"No, the guy we're facing…. is Sayer!" I yelled
"That's what I meant!" Sakura yelled back
"I'm hurt that you guys would forget about me and I mean that even more towards you, Sakura." Sayer said
"I tried to forget, but how did you escape from the Facility?" I asked him
"I'll only tell if you can win this duel but since West Khan's effect is still in effect. I send him to the graveyard to special summon "The Great Grima Follower: Validar" in attack mode! (ATK: 2500/ DEF: 2100/ LV: 5/ Dark/ Psychic and Spellcaster)" Sayar explained
"Thank you for bringing me out. That card space was getting very cramped." Validar told Sayer
"You're gonna get more than cramped. Because you successfully special summoned a monster, I can special summon this guy! Destiny Hero - Intercept! (ATK: 2400/ DEF: 3000/ LV: 6) As long as this guy is out on the field, you can't attack any of us directly! And there's more, you take damage equal to the number of monsters on your field, other words, their combined attack points!" exclaimed Dawn
"I don't need that because of Validar's effect! He can destroy up to the number of monsters on my side of the field! And I destroy both of your monster's Dawn!" Sayer exclaimed

"Oh well. Beggars can't be choosers." Dawn sighed as Defender and Intercept bit the dust
"With these three facedowns and that concludes my turn so make this turn your last since I will kill all of you!" Sayer exclaimed
"I'm up then!" exclaimed Akiza

(ATK: 300/ DEF: 1200/ LV: 2) But for now, I sacrifice my Wall of Ivy to summon Rose Tentacles! (ATK: 2200/ DEF: 1200/ LV: 6) I place two cards face-down and end my turn." said Akiza

I soon looked at the card I drew and saw it was the one I needed to win the duel but in order to pull it off…. I need three synchro's on the field to do it…
"Before I end my turn. I activate Speed World 2's effect! By removing 7 of my speed counters, I get to draw one card!" I said as I drew my extra card

"My draw!" Sakura exclaimed as she drew her card

I could see in Sakura's eyes that she had a plan. Let's hope she can get it to work.
"Alright, like Akiza last turn, I activate the Speed Spell - Summon Speeder! Now, I summon to the field, Flamvell Magician! (ATK: 1400/ DEF: 200/ LV: 4) But there's more where he came from. I summon Ally of Justice Garadholg! (ATK: 1600/ DEF: 400/ LV: 4)" Sakura then exclaimed
"Sis, I think Grace has a card that could win this duel but, she didn't play it at all." Dawn told Sakura
"I have a feeling I know which card it is, I'm just helping her play it." Sakura said to Dawn
"Then I will help as well since I think she might need three Synchro's.'" Dawn explained to Sakura
Sakura then nodded her head before she continued her turn.
"So, I tune together my Magician along with Garadholg! With hope and light, judgment shines! Like the stars in sky, reveal your light! Synchro Summon! Reveal yourself, Ally of Justice Light Gazer! (ATK: 2400/ DEF: 1600/ LV: 8)" Sakura chanted
"I knew you were going to play that Sakura. You played it years ago when your sis was a dark signer." Sayer said
"Well, did you know I was going to play this? I activate my trap, Synchro Rebirth! If I have a tuner in my graveyard, I can Synchro Summon any monster from my extra deck using cards from anyone's graveyard." Sakura then said
"W-what?!" Sayer exclaimed
"That's right! I said anyone's graveyard! The catch is, the cards are removed from play, and in order to activate its effect, I have to discard a tuner monster from my hand, so I'm sending to the grave my Ally of Justice Cyclone Creator! Alright, now that I have the issues out of the way, I tune Cyclone Creator, your Mysterious Knight, and my Kuriboh to summon a monster you've never seen before!" exclaimed Sakura
"No!" Sayer yelled
"Thank you, mi'lady!" Frederick said to Sakura
"With the light of day, and the glow of night, with our strong hearts full, our souls ignite! When all seems lost in this endless night, look to the stars, for hope burns bright! Synchro Summon! Light the way to those who are lost! Ally of Justice Galaxy Gateway! (ATK: 3400/ DEF: 3000/ LV: 10) And if you hate it now, you'll hate its effect even more. See, Galaxy Gateway allows me to snatch a monster in your deck, no questions asked, and if you have the monster I've named in your deck, you take damage equal to my Gateway's attack points, and one monster on your field takes a one-way trip to the graveyard." Sakura told Sayer
"Darn you!" Sayer growled
Sakura then closed her eyes in concentration, as if trying to think of a card Sayer would have before she snapped her eyes open.
"The card I choose… is Lucina, Ylissean Exalt!" Sakura then exclaimed
"I have the card BUT I discard, Lissa, Shepard's healer to the graveyard from to increase my lifepoints instead of taking damage from your monster's effect!" Sayer exclaimed
"That's what I was hoping you would do." Sakura said while smirking
"What do you mean?" Sayer asked
"S-save us. Please." Lucina pleaded again
"You see, if you gain life points while my monster's effect is negated, I gain two Justice Tokens! (ATK: 0/ DEF: 0/ LV: 1) But that's not all, I get to summon once more! So I sacrifice my two tokens to bring out Ally of Justice Thunder Armor! (ATK: 2700/ DEF: 2200/ LV: 8) Top that you overgrown nutjob! And as a bonus, Lucina, come to our field!" exclaimed Sakura
"Thank you my good lady." Lucina said as she went over to Sakura's field (ATK: 2600/ DEF: 2400/ LV: 6/ Warrior/ Light)

"Stop it, you're making me blush." Sakura said while rubbing the back of her head, well, helmet in this case
"I activate my trap card! Ylissean's Last Exalt! With this, I summon out, Chrom - Ylissean's Exalt in attack mode! (ATK: 1500/ DEF: 1400/ LV: 4/ Warrior/ Light)" Sayer exclaimed
"N-no! I won't work for you monster!" Chrom yelled at Sayer while trying to move his own body to where Lucina was
"Father!" Lucina then exclaimed
"I then activate the trap card, Ylissean Attack! Since I have a card that has Ylissean in it's name on my field then he/she can attack a person directly!" Sayer exclaimed as his second trap card in continuous with his first one activated
"Father! No!" Lucina exclaimed in both fear and worry
"I-I can't control myself Lucina. I'm sorry." Chrom said
"Now then, let's have you attack the person your daughter is on." Sayer said in a smirking way
Chrom then attacked, even though he didn't want to. I closed my eyes, and then opened then when I saw their swords clash instead of attack Sakura directly before Lucina pushed Chrom back to Sayer's field.
"Lucina! What you just did wasn't in your card effect!" Sayer yelled
"Thank you, Lucina." Chrom said as he thanked Lucina
"Did you not read the whole card then? She can negate any attack from a Ylissean monster! And whoops, Chrom fits that description!" Sakura then exclaimed
"Thanks Lucina because… you activated my third facedown!" Sayer exclaimed
"Oh come on!" I exclaimed
"Another one?!" Sakura exclaimed
"Lucina, you activated my third trap card, Grima's Resurrection! I can remove from play a tuner monster from anyone's decks and cards needed to bring the synchro out when you negate an attack from one of my monsters!" Sayer explained
"Not him!" Lucina exclaimed
"I remove from play your Copy Plant, Akiza from your deck and Lon'qu from my field, your Jet the Master, Grace and finally, a level one monster from your deck Sakura!" Sayer exclaimed
"Good luck with that. The only Level 1 monsters I have in my deck are tuners, and unless Grima needs two, you ain't summoning him." Sakura then said
"Whew. Can I rest now?" Jet then asked
"Uh… Sakura…" I started to say as I saw Sakura's deck glow which was showing she had a level 1 non-tuner in her deck
"Huh? Oh no! I completely forgot about Moonlight Phoenix!" Sakura exclaimed
"Nice knowing you!" Jet said while paling
"Say goodbye to the monster's I said so I can Synchro Summon Grima. From Light to Darkness. Rise from the depths of the hills of where you were defeated. Come forth and rain darkness on this land. Make yourself known! Synchro Summon! Come forth from your slumber! The Fell Dragon, Grima! In attack mode! (LV: 10/ Synchro/ ATK: 3000/ DEF: 2500/ Dark/ Dragon)" Sayer chanted
"Uh-oh…" Sakura said while paling
"Hello again, Lucina." Grima said
"Not you." Lucina said in a timid tone
"Yes, me again and I'm here to settle the score." Grima explained
"It's still your move, Sakura. Make it your last." Sayer said
"Yeah, thing is, you've only made it easier to get rid of that overgrown dragon." Sakura said while holding up a Speed Spell
"If you're trying to get rid of me, Sakura Phoenix. It won't work. I can only be destroyed by battle with an Ylissean who… I won't say anything else anymore except for that." Grima explained
"I know your little tricks. You can only be destroyed by anyone who wields the sword Falchion, or by your own hand. Am I right?" Sakura asked Grima
"Try to kill me. You'll only kill yourself if you do. And If Sayer loses the duel, I'll find a better host to take my mark and I can already sense one." Grima explained
"Oh no. I am so scared. Not!" Sakura then exclaimed
"Oh but this person I'm sensing is going to kill you when he is possessed, Sakura and he will be your boyfriend." Grima said

I saw that all the cards on Sayer's field wasn't destroyed at all which Sakura didn't see, that is, until the dust settled.
"But how?!" Sakura exclaimed
"My effect dear." Grima said in Sakura's own voice
"IF The Fell Dragon, Grima and the monster "The Great Grima Follower, Validar" is on my field at the same time then none of my cards can be destroyed by card effects, spell cards or trap cards!" Sayer explained
"Well, that Validar is gonna have a few cannons to deal with. Galaxy Gateway, show him the meaning of the phrase, going out with a bang!" Sakura exclaimed
"Oh really?" Validar exclaimed
"Yeah, really. You see, Galaxy Gateway has another ability. When it attacks, all monsters on your side of the field lose attack points equal to the sum of all monsters attack points on your field, as long as there's a light monster on your field, Sayer!" Sakura exclaimed as Validar began to panic
"I have no light monsters at all Sakura." Sayer said
"Then what's Chrom doing?" Sakura then asked him
"Uh oh…. I forgot about him…. but I forgot to tell you Grima's effect!" Sayer yelled
"Say it after Validar hits the dust!" Sakura exclaimed as Galaxy Gateway was charging up its cannons
I saw Sayer smirking… but why… unless…
"Sakura! Call of your attack!" I yelled
That's when Sakura and Dawn read Grima's ability, and panicked!
"Great! I activate my trap, Roar of Destiny! Since I have a Destiny Hero monster in my grave, your turn is over!" Dawn exclaimed
"Thanks sis. I owe ya one." Sakura said to Dawn as Galaxy Gateway's cannons powered down
"I knew that if I summoned a monster that was weak to yours, I would lose easily so I summoned out my best monster to make sure that doesn't happen." Sayer explained
"So you knew what we were going to do all along, right Sayer?" I asked him
"I have to keep my skills up." Sayer said while smirking
In that case, it looks like Black Rose Dragon is our only hope, unless Dawn can summon out another Synchro.

I saw that Grima was smirking before jumping and taking on the appearance of Dawn when she was a Dark Signer. I looked over at Dawn in concern, as it looked like her hair was shaded by her eyes before she said:
"You call that a taunt? I've seen Sakura do better!"
"Take a closer look." Grima said as she had Sakura's face while taking on Dawn's Dark Singer appearance
That only got her mad as she said:
"I activate my trap! Call of the Haunted! With this, I bring back Destiny Hero - Defender! But I'm not done! I summon Destiny Hero - Dawn in attack mode! (ATK: 1700/ DEF: 1500/ LV: 4)
"Is that all?" Grima asked in a mixed voice of Dawn and Sakura
"No, because I'm tuning them together! When destiny calls, hope stays strong. Unveil that hope with the break of dawn! Synchro Summon! Shine, Sunrise Dragon! (ATK: 2600/ DEF: 2000/ LV: 8)" Dawn chanted
"Dawn! That's everything I need to use the card I have in my hand to end this duel!" I exclaimed to her
"Then it's a good thing we're going to keep the cards on the field. I activate the trap, Synchro Protection! Until my next end phase, all Synchro Monsters can't be destroyed by card effect or battle!" exclaimed Akiza

"You what?!" exclaimed Sayer
"You heard and and I decrease all three synchro's on our side of the field by 6 and I make Sunrise Dragon a Synchro Tuner at the same time!" I exclaimed (Galaxy Gateway LV: 4, Light Gazer LV: 2, Sunrise Dragon LV: 2)
Sakura's POV
I soon saw Grace's Duel Runner speeding up, is she doing what I think she's doing?
"Sis… is she doing…." Dawn trailed off
"I think she is! Accel Synchro!" I exclaimed
"Or… Maybe something greater than that." Dawn pointed out
"Let's see when she comes back." Akiza said since Grace disappeared
Grace's POV, in the accel synchro speed…
"Pieces of Light! Stars from the Sky! Bring forth a world to have peace. Make yourself shine bright from the depths of Space and Time! Accel Synchro Summon! Ascend from the Stars! Moonlight Ally Dragon! (ATK: 4500/ DEF: 3500/ LV: 8/ Dragon/ Light and Dark/ Synchro)" I chanted
Sakura's POV
We felt a sort of shockwave coming from behind us, and when the light faded away, Grace was back! And she had a new friend too!
"Sayer, meet Moonlight Ally Dragon. It has 4500 attack points and with 2 special abilities I might add in along with the effect when it's first accel synchro summoned. " Grace said
"Oh boy. He's in for a rough one!" exclaimed Grunika
"The effect when she is first accel synchro summoned. We all draw a card from our decks and if the card we draw is a monster then I gain life points equal to all the monster's combined attack points but the downside to that is you Sayer, lose cards from your hand or deck equal to the number of monster we draw!" Grace explained the first effect
We all then drew our cards from our decks. I drew a monster. To be more precise, Ally of Justice Enemy Catcher.
"And here's the best part for this first effect. I can see all the cards we drew to see how many monsters we drew." Grace finished explaining
"Then you'll love this card Grace. I drew Ally of Justice Enemy Catcher, and this card has 1800 attack points!" I exclaimed
"I drew out Destiny Hero - Dogma, and he's got a whooping total of 3400 attack points!" exclaimed Dawn
"I drew my Blue Rose Dragon, which has 1600 attack points." said Akiza
"I drew my Legendary Wind Master which has 2400 attack points." Grace said
"And I drew Risen Archer which has only 1100 attack points…" Sayer trailed off
"Guess what that means, Sayer." Grace said
"He loses his whole hand! Ouch! Talk about just desserts! Man, now I'm hungry." Grunika said as we all heard his stomach growl
"That's true and I gained a bunch of life points so in case Sayer attacks me….." Grace trailed off
"You'd be able to survive it all." I replied

"Meaning…. next time Moonlight attacks, your speed spell you activated is destroyed when Validar is destroyed plus… I would be taking 1000 points of damage IF not for the other effect I forgot to explain! See, when I am about to take damage from an attack that's with Moonlight Ally Dragon, all battle damage I would take becomes zero!" Grace explained
"Sakura, what is Grace planning?" Akiza asked me
"You got me." I answered her
"Sayer… take a look at the difference in our monster's attack points." Grace told him

"How is this possible?!" Sayer exclaimed

I saw Grace sending her monster from the field to the grave as Chrom came to Grace's field.
"Thank you, Grace, right?' Chrom asked
"Yes it is." Grace replied
"Father!" Lucina exclaimed as she hugged Chrom
"Sorry I… you know…" Chrom sadly replied
"What matters is your back." Lucina said while smiling
"But he has your mother…." Chrom sadly spoke while looking away
"We'll get her back. I promise." Lucina then said
"I special summon from my deck, Robin - Chrom's wife in attack mode! (LV: 4/ ATK: 1500/ DEF: 1400/ Spellcaster and Warrior/ Light)" Sayer exclaimed
"Now he's given me a reason to hate him even more!" I exclaimed angrily
"Chrom… Lucina..." Robin said sadly
"Robin!" Chrom exclaimed
"Mother!" Lucina exclaimed
"See, if you guys control Chrom - Ylissean Exalt and Lucina - Ylissean Exalt then I can special summon Robin - Chrom's Wife from my deck, hand or graveyard." Sayer explained
"Can I turn him into ashes yet?" Grunika asked me
"When we win this duel, yes." I told him
I saw Grace looking at a glowing card she had in her hand. What could it be?
"I activate the Speed Spell - Ylissean's Defence! By paying up 300 of my life points and removing all of my speed counters then not only do I take control of your monster but then Chrom, Lucina and Robin can attack you directly with their attack points doubled since this card can only be activated when their family is out on the field. No matter whose side the family's card is on!" Grace explained

"And now…. don't you three have a duel to finish, together?" Grace told them
All three of them nodded as they looked at Sayer angrily before they finished him off together.

"It better, otherwise that guy's… hey! Where did that nutjob go off to?" Grunika asked as he looked at Sayer's steaming Duel Runner
"Unless….." Grace trailed off
We walked over to the runner, and saw that the Fire Emblem Awakening deck was there…. and so was the Multiply spell card.
"So he used Multiply to play hooky on us!" I exclaimed angrily
"That no good murderer!" exclaimed Grunika
"Yeah but…. at least we have the…." Grace started to say when the Fire Emblem deck vanished since it was used by the multiply card as well
"There goes the deck. I'll have Grunika fly around the city tonight to find him." I said
"Okay…." Grace started to say before she held her head in pain
"You okay?" I asked in concern
"Y-yeah. Just fine." Grace replied before her pain from her head went away
"You sure? That looked like some headache." I said
"I'm fine really. Just need to sleep is all." Grace said as sector security arrived
"Great. Trudge and company." I groaned
"We heard the computer saying for all vehicles to get out of the dueling lane and well, here we find you. We're trying to find Sayer. He escaped from the facility." Trudge explained
"Whoop-de-doo. Guess who we were dueling." I said with an annoyed look on my face
"You don't mean…" Trudge trailed off
"Yep! That's the guy and he was using a deck from a game as well. Making people attack against their will. Unbelievable." Grace said
"Eh, more like believable if you know that nutjob. I sorta made it my unofficial job to investigate Sayer." I said
"Really?" Grace told me
"You would too if you thought he killed your only sister." I said
"He threaten to kill my brother years ago! Remember?" Grace exclaimed
"Say what now?" Akiza asked in confusion
"Oh right…. you didn't know since you were with Sayer at the time when the original Arcadia movement building was still up." Grace sadly said while looking away
"Grace, tell me what happened? Please?" Akiza pleaded
Dawn and I both saw that Grace was trying not to cry, oh boy. I really hate seeing Grace this upset about her past again but what do I tell Akiza? She wouldn't believe her nor me. Not even Dawn. I hate being in the middle of someone's past.
"Just back off about it Akiza!" Grace snapped at Akiza while crying
"Besides, it's a lot of a touchy subject." I said
"I just want to know." Akiza asked
"If you want to know so badly then fine! I'll tell you!" Grace snapped again at Akiza while tears came down
"Grace, remember, you asked us to keep that a secret from everyone years ago except from Sakura and Dawn." Trudge added in
"Still! Akiza won't stop asking about it so I should just tell her!" Grace cried while snapping at Trudge this time
"Grace. I think we all need time to cool down after what just happened." I said while putting my hand on her shoulder, but Grace just kept crying, not even bothering to say a word
"Trudge, what did happen to where Grace can't tell nobody else?" Akiza asked Trudge
"J-Just tell her…. I don't care anymore about my past…." Grace said as she got onto her duel runner and drove off, crying so hard
"Grace!" I exclaimed as I watched her drive off
"What did I miss about Grace?! I can't be left in the dark. Sayer didn't even tell me when I was with him during, you know Sakura. What did I miss for Grace? Please, I want to know?" Akiza asked once more
"Sakura, we can't keep Grace's past from anyone anymore… Not even from Yusei. I couldn't even tell Jack since Goodwin, when he was still around wouldn't allow it." Trudge explained
"Believe me, he wanted some secrets kept in the dark." I told her
"Tell me or else… please.. I want to know why Grace hates people when they bring up family members is all." Akiza said
"Sakura…. since Goodwin is gone…. should we just tell her…. I don't want to keep this up anymore for Grace's past. I know you don't want to either." Trudge said
"Yeah… she deserves to know." I said
"Akiza, years ago…." Trudge started to say
"Dawn wasn't a Dark Signer at the time and Grace was attending Duel Academy, the same school Sakura and Dawn went to but it all changed one night. Sakura, would you like to continue explaining this story?" Trudge said
"Yeah, since I was kinda keeping my eye at the Arcadia Movement at the time. Anywho, there was one heck of a Psychic Duel going on nearby, and by the time anyone got there… the duel just… vanished. Like, it never even happened." Sakura said
"And one of the people that was dueling was Grace. She didn't know at the time she was a Psychic duelist like you, Akiza and wanted no one to know that she was one and made the duel vanish after she sometimes won a duel but that was when Sayer saw her as a Psychic Duelist and wanted her to join his Arcadia Movement." Trudge added in

"You just lost!" Grace said

"Y… You're a monster! A monster!" the guy said
Grace was looking around and saw people was hearing this guy screaming about her being a monster and just disappeared with the duel.
*End Flashback*
"The thing is, no one knew at the time that it wasn't Grace who was making the people vanish into thin air." Sakura then said
"It was Sayer but then a couple of nights after that Sakura and Dawn were coming back from the movies when they met Grace the first time." Trudge added in
"I pulled the old 'she went that way then he's gone' trick. Works every time." Sakura said
*Flashback*
Dawn and Sakura seeing a girl around their age running past them and into an alleyway and went into hiding as Sayer came up to them.
"Have you seen this girl, miss Phoenix?" Sayer said while holding a picture of Grace in front of them
"Yeah, she went that way." Sakura said while pointing over her shoulder to the mall
"Thank you." Sayer replied as he went in the direction that Sakura pointed
Once he was gone, Sakura turned to where Grace was hiding and said:
"He's gone."
Grace came out of hiding and Sakura and Dawn saw how torn up and dirty Grace's clothes were.
"T-thank you for not giving me away…" Grace weakly said
"Hey, it's no problem. We really don't like that guy either. You okay?" Sakura asked Grace
"I-I'm fine. M-My name is Grace…. Grace Baxter. What are your names?" Grace said
"I'm Sakura. Sakura Phoenix. This is my sister, Dawn. If you want, you can hide at our place for a while." Sakura told Grace
"T-thanks and nice to meet you guys." Grace said
*End Flashback*
"But it wasn't that caused Grace to become who she is now….. It was what happened weeks after she hide at Sakura's and Dawn's place….." Trudge said
"And.. what did cause Grace to change…." Akiza asked
"You can guess." I said
"It had to do with Sayer and Grace's brother…. Rex…" Trudge said

"W-what do you mean you'll kill him if I don't join!" Grace said to Sayer over the phone
"I don't like repeating myself Miss Baxter. I may not know where you are, but I can lure you out. If you don't join my movement by midnight tonight, say goodbye to your brother." Sayer said to Grace over the phone
"N-no…." Grace said as she dropped the phone onto the floor

"See, Sayer was threatening to kill Rex if Grace didn't join his movement." Trudge said
"Like always, he always wants things done his way." I said

Sakura and Dawn came into the room where Grace dropped the phone and saw that Grace was gone with the back door opened.
"Sis… where did she go?" Dawn asked Sakura
"I have a bad feeling. Let's hurry. She couldn't have gotten far." Sakura said as they ran through the back door
Once Sakura and Dawn came outside, they saw that Grace jumped down to the roof of other buildings and was heading towards the Arcadia Movement building.
"Sis, look!" Dawn exclaimed while pointing to the building Grace was heading to
"Grace!" Sakura called out

"Grace had to save her brother no matter what it took, Akiza." Trudge said
"Yeah and it took a lot just to stop her from doing it." Dawn said
"No kidding." I said
"What happened next?" Akiza asked
*Flashback*
Sakura and Dawn got to Grace before she entered the Arcadia Movement building.
"What are you doing?!" Grace said
"Stopping you from making the biggest mistake of your life. If you do this, whether or not he's made a deal with you, he's going to go back on his word." Sakura told Grace
"H...he's going to kill my brother if I don't join by midnight tonight." Grace told Sakura and Dawn
"Sis... We have to help her." Dawn said to Sakura before she nodded her head
"How about this? I'll go find your brother for you. He has to be somewhere in this building. While I do that, you can distract Sayer, so he doesn't figure out what we're doing. Is that okay?" Sakura asked Grace
"Yeah." Grace said while nodding

"But it wasn't long till she went to Goodwin for a favor since we sector security knew what was going on everywhere in the city…." Trudge said
"Yeah and Grace had us promise her that we wouldn't tell anyone about it…." Dawn added in while looking down
"I'm sorry we couldn't tell you." I said
"I… I didn't know that caused Grace to be that cold when it came to family…." Akiza sadly said

Grace came into Goodwin's office with Lazar trying to stop her except Grace had an appointment with him, not that the clown knew.
"Thanks for seeing me Mister Goodwin." Grace said
"It's no problem. How may I help you?" Goodwin then asked
"I need you to do something…." Grace said
"I'm sorry sir but I tried to stop her." Lazar exclaimed
"It's fine. She has an appointment with me, after all." Goodwin then said to Lazar
Lazar turned to Grace with an "oops" face.
"I'm sorry miss Grace. I didn't know." Lazar said to Grace
"It's fine but I need you to do something Mister Goodwin." Grace said
"And what might that be?" Goodwin asked Grace
"Sayer threatened to kill my brother if I didn't join his movement so I would like you to delete any record of my brother and I having to do with that guy or his arcadia movement so nobody could go after him and I. It was to painful to see his condition when Sakura saved him from that guy." Grace explained
"I understand your pain. To be honest… Miss Phoenix once asked me to do the same for her father. Knowing she was the only one to survive an accident like the one she was in, it was traumatic for her. I'll grant your request." Goodwin said as he looked at the New Domino City skyline
"Thank and because I don't want nobody to come after me because of a…. power I didn't know I had…" Grace trailed off
"You and Miss Phoenix are a lot alike. She's like you, with your… abilities, so to speak." Goodwin then told her
"But thanks for granting my request Mister Goodwin. I'll take my leave now." Grace said while bowing before leaving

"And that basically what happened Akiza." Trudge said
"Now I feel awful." Akiza said while looking away
"You didn't know because if you had known when you were with Sayer….. he would have forced you to force Grace to join his movement." Dawn said
"Thankfully at the time you were at Duel Academy." I said to her
"But sis, she could have known about people calling Grace a monster because that's where she discovered that she had psychic powers, remember?" Dawn said to me
"True… maybe it was before that happened. I always get history screwed up." I said
"History always was your worst subject." Dawn then said
"Hey! Was not!" I exclaimed
"Oh yeah? What year were the stone tablets that led to Maximillion Pegasus to create the game, Duel Monsters?" Dawn then asked me
"Uh…" I trailed off while sweat-dropping
"Exactly Dawn's point Sakura but I'm going to find Grace and tell her sorry…" Akiza trailed off
"I hope Grace won't do anything stupid is what I'm worried about." Trudge said
"Knowing her, she's probably cooling off right around now." I said
"I hope so…." Akiza trailed off sadly
Grace's POV
I drove back to Yusei's place to cool down and to sleep since I needed it because of what Akiza said which got me upset and I entered Yusei's place and went to where Yusei allowed me to sleep and I pulled the covers over me and just cried to sleep. When I woke up, I saw Sakura holding my wrist, but why wasn't I in my bed?
"Huh? Sakura, why are you holding my wrist?" I asked her
"You mean you don't remember picking up that knife?" Sakura asked
"What knife? Last thing I remember was just crying myself to sleep then…. blank." I said
"Try looking in your hand." Sakura then said to me
I do so and saw the knife which I then dropped. What was going on with me?!
"W-what was I going to do with that?" I asked
"I have no idea, but it couldn't have been good. Wait… do you think…" Sakura started
"Sayer has something to do with this?" I finished Sakura's sentence
"If he did, he is going down!" Sakura then exclaimed
"I… I don't want to put you in danger, Sakura." I said
"I'll help as well." Akiza added in as she walked in
"It's like my sister said earlier. You mess with one of us, you mess with us all. Sayer's out for something, and we'll find out what." Dawn said in a determined voice
"I'm sorry… but I can't allow it this time…" I said as I ran out of Yusei's place and started up my duel runner and drove off
Sakura's POV
We watched as Grace sped away on her runner.
"Should we go after her?" Akiza asked
"Not all of us should. I don't know about you, but some of us need rest." I said
"I'm going with you, sis so you're stuck with me either way." Dawn said
"And I'm coming as well." Akiza added in
"Alright, but if we can't find her in two hours, we're calling it a night." I said
"Okay but if we were Grace, where would she go?" Akiza said
"Don't know." said Dawn
"Me neither." I said
Two hours later… nothing. She wasn't even answering our calls! Where is she?
"Did you find her?" Dawn asked me and Akiza as we met back up at Yusei's place
"No." I said sadly
"I'm getting worried." Akiza said
"You and me both. Where is she?" I wondered out loud
"Guys! Check this out!" Carly exclaimed as she ran up to me, Dawn and Akiza while holding a newspaper
"Carly. What are you doing up at this hour?" I asked her
"Just take a look at this and I didn't write this story this time. It's one of my co-workers, who showed me what he was working on." Carly explained as she handed us the newspaper as we saw the headline:
"Grace Baxter Falls Into Coma After Crash"
"Please tell me I'm reading it wrong." I said
"You're not and and guess what. It says in the story that Grace was chasing Sayer as she was driving as well before she crashed." Akiza pointed out
"He must've done something to cause that to happen to her. He's gonna pay for that!" I exclaimed
"No one knows how he did that to Grace. Not even the people I work with." Carly said
"Hold on Sakura. Think about it. Grace falling into a coma and her holding a knife and she didn't remember she was holding it. I think Sayer did something during our duel that is causing this." Akiza said
"We'll hunt him down after we some sleep. We've been up all night." I said
"But add this in as well, Grace was holding her head in pain as well when we won against Sayer." Akiza said
"Like I said, we'll hunt him down after we get some sleep. We won't be able to think straight if we're tired." I said
"True sis." Dawn said
"Alright." Akiza added in
We went back to our homes to get some shut eye, and the moment I fell onto my bed, I was out faster than a speeding bullet! But my dream was not a good one…
*Dreamscape*
"You'll be my host soon. I know it, Sakura Phoenix." Grima said
"No! I won't become your host!" I exclaimed
"But you will. You would have no choice to be my host." Grima explained
"You'll have to kill me first before I become your host!" I exclaimed
"Sayer will make you be my host and you'll have to do what I say." Grima said
"Never!" I exclaimed
"We'll see, Phoenix. Have a nice night." Grima said

That's when that nightmare ended, and I woke up. To quote every Star Wars movie ever made, I've got a bad feeling about this…
Dawn's POV, the next day
"I'm going over to the hospital to visit Grace. Want to come with me, Dawn?" Akiza asked me
"Sure. You wanna come with us?" I asked Sakura
"Maybe later. I haven't gotten much sleep last night." Sakura said before she yawned
"What happened to you last night Sakura? It's like you came out of a nightmare about something from Fire Emblem Awakening." Akiza asked
"Ugh, you're not actually that far off." Sakura then said
"Then what did happen or else… Dawn will take you clothes shopping if you don't come with us." Akiza said
"Fine. Lucina and the others… suffering… being tormented by Grima." Sakura said as she looked away
"We know that you're lying Sakura." Akiza and I said in unison
"Hey! I'm sleep deprived! I can't remember every detail!" Sakura then exclaimed
"Let me guess…" Akiza said as she closed her eyes then thought for a moment before opening them and said:
"You were having a nightmare that had to do with you and Grima."
"Ugh. Yep. I thought if I stretched the truth a bit, you wouldn't get on my case." Sakura said while sulking
"Hey, we'll find Sayer, together." Akiza said
"Hopefully sometime before Grima decides to mark me." Sakura said in a joking tone
"Let's get going!" Akiza and I exclaimed in unison
"And I am going back to sleep." Sakura said as she went back into her room
'You're coming with us, for Grace." Akiza said while grabbing Sakura's shirt from behind
"Hey! Seriously, do you not see the circles under my eyes? I wanna go, but I'm worried I'll fall asleep behind the wheel." Sakura said with a groan
"Fine…" Akiza said while letting go
"If you need me, you know where to find me." Sakura said while yawning before she closed the door to her room
"Let's get going Dawn. Yusei and everyone is waiting for us at the hospital." Akiza said
"Yeah. We'll tell you how Grace is doing when we get back." I told Sakura
"K." Sakura said before I heard her pull the covers over herself
Akiza and I soon left to meet up with everyone at the Hospital while Sakura was left back home. Why did this have to happen to Grace out of all times?
Sakura's POV
Man… I never thought they'd ever leave. They really believed I was tired? I need to find Sayer and make him pay for what he did to Grace. And I knew just how to find him. Spirit of the Wind. She was tracking him when we couldn't… and she found him. Once I saw Akiza and Dawn leave, I used Transcendent Wings, got to the roof, and was in for some major flying time. After a couple of minutes, I saw Sayer at the docks, like usual, like he wasn't even trying to hide from me. I soon landed in front of him.
"It's good to see you, Miss Phoenix." Sayer said
"Let's get this over with. You're going to pay for sending Grace into the hospital." I said as I drew Lightsworn Sabre
"I may have something to do with it but it's you I want. Maybe I should kill her fully instead of being in a coma. Or better, kill your sister." Sayer said in a smirking way
"You dare even touch a hair on my family again, and I will kill you." I said as I held my Sabre tighter
"I can give Grace the simple command to kill her right now other than to kill herself." Sayer told me
That got me so pissed that I just charged in with Lightsworn Sabre. I expected him to bring out Psychic Sword, but when my sword pierced his chest, I looked shocked. Did… did I just…
"You will be under my command when you hear the words "Arcadia" or "Movement." Sayer said into my ear before he disappeared where another multiply card replaced where he stood
"The old switcheroo! Where are you?! For real this time!" I exclaimed
I got no answer from him at all. Great… a dead trail now. I was about to fly off when someone grabbed me from behind and placed a cloth over my mouth. The next thing I knew was darkness before I opened my eyes to find myself in a brightly lit room… and I was restrained at the exact same time! Oh come on! Really?! Just… really?!
"Glad you came, Miss Phoenix." Sayer said as he walked up to me
"Sayer." I growled angrily
"You see, I only had Grace go into a coma because I knew you would come after me because… All I wanted was you." Sayer said
"So I was your target this whole time." I said while glaring at him
"Yep but you won't be doing anything at all now because your now a part of the Arcadia Movement." Sayer said as both command words were in the same sentence
I widened my eyes as I felt a major headache. I tried to resist his command, but then… everything turned dark. Next thing I knew, I saw things like how I would, but I wasn't in control!
"Now then, I want you to recruit Akiza once more." Sayer said as he untied me
"Yes. I will recruit her at once." I heard myself say, but it wasn't me who said it
"And you might need this in case you were challenged to a duel by someone who might not think it's you." Sayer explained as he handed me the Fire Emblem Awakening deck
It was then I felt a chill in the air, well, more like my mind… when I saw Grima in my mind!
"I told you were going to be my host." Grima said
"You don't have complete control over me." I then told him
"Oh really?" Grima said as he moved one of my own hands in my own mind
"W-what are you doing?" I asked him
'Showing you that I have control over your mind-controlled body." Grima said
Then, on my body, I saw my right hand glowing purple the moment Grima touched my right hand in my mind. I screamed in pain before the light faded away to reveal his mark. The Heart of Grima.
"No…" I said on the verge of tears
"Now then, your mind-controlled body has a job to do for Sayer and I'm going to make sure it is completed." Grima said
"You may have control over me, but you can never break my will." I told him
"Not after Sayer recruits your own sister." Grima told me
"You keep away from my family you overgrown lizard!" I exclaimed
"I'll keep away but…. your mind-controlled body is a different story that Sayer can command it to do." Grima told me before disappearing
I then watched my body put on a new riding suit and put my hair in a messy bun before putting the helmet over my head and getting onto the Duel Runner Sayer was driving the other night.
