Chapter 17: Sayer's Last Trick
sakuraphoenix: Hey everyone! It's sakuraphoenix, and we are back folks!
Detroid: Yep! But more importantly… It's Time to Duel!
sakuraphoenix: I thought it was time for bed
Detroid: True but hey. Disclaimer since we kinda have a tight schedule for uploading now don't we.

Detroid: This will start in Sakura's POV and Enjoy!
You know you have tried everything you could to get the stupid mark of Grima off your hand when it was red and swollen, and the only thing you haven't tried is sulfuric acid, battery acid, or hydrochloric acid.
"Just give up. You can't get rid of that mark of mine." Grima said
"Ugh, this is gonna be painful, but it'll do the job." I said as I imagined a bucket full of sulfuric acid right in front of me
"That'll just hurt you." Grima told me
"It'll be worth it." I said as I dipped my hand into the acid… only for nothing to happen! Say what?!
"I told you. You can't get rid of the mark." Grima repeated
"So what? I have to be your slave forever?!" I exclaimed
"Not until I get your sister instead. She'll be more useful than you." Grima said
"Don't you dare touch my sister!" I exclaimed angrily
"Oh but I can since your being mind-controlled by Sayer." Grima told me
"Then… I'm willing to make a deal." I said while looking down at my feet
"What would that be?" Grima asked
"I'm willing to be your slave, forever. Just don't take my sister. Please." I said while trying not to show that I was crying
"Sounds like an interesting offer…" Grima trailed off
"I'll do it. Honest. No tricks, no nothing. Please." I said as I revealed my tears
"You got a deal but….. Sayer did choose who your mind-controlled body goes after." Grima told me
"And right now, that's Akiza." I said grimly
"Then I don't know who Sayer wants to go after next." Grima said
"Just don't make me go after my sister." I said tearfully
"Like I said. I don't know who Sayer wants next." Grima explained before disappearing
I cried as I felt so… helpless before the Mark of Grima burned on my hand, which caused me to hold it in pain. Next thing I knew, it was dark.
Dawn's POV
We finally got back from the hospital, but Sakura was still sleeping! Sheesh, she wasn't kidding when she said she didn't get a good night's sleep last night.
"Should we wake her up?" Akiza asked me
"When she's snoring like that, it'll be impossible, unless you know a Dedenne that knows Nuzzle." I said
"Why not Flamvell Grunika?" Akiza asked
"He wouldn't burn Sakura unless she got him ticked." I said
"Like she is now." Akiza said while pointing to the burnt door since she was ignoring Flamvell Grunika
"Uh… that's not from Grunika." I said in shock
"Then... who is it?" Akiza asked
We went into Sakura's room and looked to see if she is still sleeping or not. It sounded like it, but when I broke the door down, we found out the hard way that she pulled a Ferris Bueller on us!
"Where did she go unless…." Akiza trailed off
"She played a Ferris Bueller on us. Pretended to be sleeping, then when we were gone, she vamoosed! Dasher is so going to it love when we find her." I said while cracking my knuckles
"You know, you can be scary when you're mad." Akiza said while slowly backing away
"I agree…" a voice trailed off behind us
"That voice…" Akiza said
"Glad you actually remember me, Akiza." Grace said as she stepped into the light
"Grace. I thought you were still in the hospital." I said
"I'm still in the hospital but I'm using my mind to project myself to talk to you." Grace told us
"That's convenient." I said
"Yeah so where did Sakura go to? She wouldn't disappear unless…." Grace trailed off before we figured it out as we exclaimed in unison:
"She wanted to go after Sayer!"
"We need to find him before she does something stupid!" I exclaimed
"Yeah!" Akiza exclaimed
As we left Yusei's place, we heard a Duel Runner coming towards us and… wait? Where's Grace? Since I was trying to find her since she was with us just a couple of minutes ago. I guess we're about to find out. We saw the driver wearing a riding suit and riding a Duel Runner neither of us had seen before, but I recognized the symbol on the front. Sayer's sent this one after us, and if we follow this guy or girl, we find Sakura.
"Who are you?" Akiza asked the rider
"Who I am is of no importance, Akiza Izinski. I've come here for a reason, and I'm not leaving until my mission is complete." The rider said as she detached the Duel Disk from her runner and walked up to us
"Stay away from me…" Akiza trailed off
"Would if I could. See, my boss wants you. I won't say for what." The mysterious rider said
"Stay away from me!" Akiza said in a more scared tone
"Hey! I don't know who you are, but if you're working for Sayer, you've just made my enemies list! And you know what I do with my enemies? I duel them!" I exclaimed angrily
"Well, what do you know. You can be scary when you're mad." The mysterious rider said in a slightly surprised tone
"I'll duel her instead…" Mary said while stepping in front of me
"Mary." I said in a surprised tone
"I'm your opponent instead!" Mary exclaimed
"Not interested. You aren't even worth my time." The mysterious rider said in a bored tone
"I know that tone so I know who you are and that's not the girl I knew years ago." Mary explained
"You know her?" I asked her
"Yeah…. well... now I don't…." Mary trailed off
Cue the anime fall!
"Well… I do know her but this isn't how she would act is what I'm trying to say." Mary said
"Then who is it?" Akiza asked
"Guess who knows your full name, Akiza." Mary said
"That's still not narrowing it down." Akiza said
"I meant for this. Who knows your full name when you were the "Black Rose," Akiza… one who couldn't have been blown away by your Psychic powers besides Sayer." Mary explained in a simpler way
"It couldn't be… Sakura?! Sakura, is it you?!" Akiza exclaimed
We watched with anticipation as the rider took off her helmet, and it was our worst fears come true. It was Sakura, and as she undid her hair, she did not look happy to see us.
"What do you want with Akiza?" Mary asked Sakura
"It's not what I want, it's what Sayer wants, and what he wants is to rebuild the Arcadia Movement, with me as his general." Sakura then said
"What?!" Akiza, Mary and I exclaimed in unison
"But you hate him, remember?! Why would you suddenly become his general?!" I exclaimed
"Yeah!" Akiza added in
"Let's just say he and I had a… misunderstanding, in lack of better words." Sakura said
"Still! We both know you hate him Sakura!" Akiza exclaimed
"Not anymore." Sakura then said
"Then duel me to prove it." Mary said as she was looking determined
"Fine, then let's make a deal. I win, I'm taking Akiza with me." Sakura said
"But if I win, you must return to your good old self." Mary said
"Agreed." Sakura said
"Let's duel!" Mary and Sakura exclaimed in Unison
Mary LP 4000/ Sakura LP 4000
"I'll go first since Beauty always comes before madness. I draw!" Mary exclaimed as she drew her card
"Do you think she can win Dawn?" Akiza asked me
"She has to." I said
"For my first move, I summon Flamvell Dragnov in attack mode! (ATK: 1100/ DEF: 200/ LV: 2) I'll place two cards face-down to end my turn." said Mary
"It's my turn!" Sakura exclaimed as she drew her card

"I summon out Nowi in defence mode. (LV: 3/ Dragon/ Earth/ ATK: 600/ DEF: 1500) I end my turn with 3 facedowns." Sakura said as she laid down the cards
"She's using the Fire Emblem deck!" I exclaimed
"But how?!" Akiza added in
"Sayer must've given it to her. That's how." I said
"Make your move." Sakura told Mary
Mary LP 4000/ Sakura LP 4000
"Gladly!" Mary exclaimed
"Come on Mary… draw something good." I said in worry
"I summon to the field, Ally of Justice Core Destroyer! (ATK: 1200/ DEF: 200/ LV: 3) And now, I activate DNA Transplant! With this, I can change all monsters to the attribute of Light!" exclaimed Mary
"Whatever." Sakura said with a bored look on her face
"Let's say that when Nowi hits the dust! Attack!" Mary exclaimed as Core Destroyer was about to attack Nowi
I saw Sakura smirking but why unless…. Nowi glowed before it was destroyed before smoke appeared around the duel and when the smoke disappeared, all of Mary's monsters were gone as well!
"You activated Nowi's effect." Sakura said
"And what would that be?" Mary asked
"Look at your field." Sakura said
"Besides the monsters being gone I mean." Mary said
"For every monster destroyed by Nowi's effect, I gain life points equal to all of monsters attack points." Sakura explained
Mary LP 4000/ Sakura LP 6900
"Guess it's my turn!" Sakura said before smirking at the card she drew
"Uh-oh. She got a good one." I said
"How can you tell?" Akiza asked me
"She has a terrible Poker Face." I said
"I activate the spell card, Prince of Ylisse! By sending Chrom to the graveyard, I can special summon to the field from my deck, Prince Marth! In attack mode! (LV: 8/ ATK: 2600/ DEF: 2500/ Warrior/ Earth - Light)" Sakura exclaimed
"Oh boy." said Mary
"Prince Marth, attack Core Destroyer!" Sakura exclaimed
"She knows that her monster will get destroyed Dawn, right?" Akiza asked me
"Mary is basically using Sakura's Deck. It's like she's fighting herself, unless… oh no!" I exclaimed
"What is it?" Akiza asked me
"Marth may have a special ability we don't know about." I said
"Which is?" Akiza asked
"That's what we're gonna find out." I said
"Your monster is finished!" Sakura exclaimed
"How? Marth is a Light Attribute!" Mary exclaimed
"Marth's effect! It's dangerous when you change his attribute because now think of your Core Destroyer but in reverse but when Marth attacks, he deals damage but it's doubled!" Sakura exclaimed
"Say what?!" exclaimed Mary
Mary LP 800/ Sakura LP 6900
"I end my turn so make your final move." Sakura said
"Final? You wish! I set a monster in defense mode and end my turn." Mary said while sighing that she didn't get the card she wanted

"This is the end for you! I draw! I activate the spell card, Manakete's Revival! I can bring back Nowi back to the field in defence mode but her effect is negated till the end phase." Sakura explained
"What is she planning Dawn?" Akiza asked
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling." I said as I held my right arm, as if something inside of me was saying something was wrong
"I tribute Nowi to tribute summon Panne in attack mode! (LV: 6/ ATK: 2100/ DEF: 1800/ Earth - Light/ Tuner/ Beast)" Sakura explained
"What will she do Dawn?" Akiza asked me in worry
"Nothing good." I said
"I activate the facedown card, Dark Truth! I can turn one of my monsters into a Dark monster while it's negating one of your spell or trap cards thats in effect right now!" Sakura exclaimed
"Oh boy." Mary said while worried
"So I make Panne a dark type attribute then activating the spell card from my hand, Heart of Grima!" Sakura exclaimed
"Here it comes!" I exclaimed in worry
Sakura's POV
I woke up in my mind when I heard the words Heart of Grima. The next thing I saw was that I was dueling Mary!
"The truth for her to realize that you're a threat is because of me! See you soon after she duels." Grima said before leaving
"Wait!" I exclaimed
I then noticed that I was wearing the same outfit Robin, the Avatar, whatever you wanna name him/her was wearing during Awakening, and I was chained up! Really? Just… really?
"I tune my level 4 Panne with Prince Marth to synchro summon, The Fell Dragon, Grima! From Light to Darkness. Rise from the depths of the hills of where you were defeated. Come forth and rain darkness on this land. Make yourself known! Synchro Summon! Come forth from your slumber! The Fell Dragon, Grima! In attack mode! (LV: 10/ Synchro/ ATK: 3000/ DEF: 2500/ Dark/ Dragon) " I heard myself say
"Mary!" I exclaimed in worry
"What do we do Dawn?" Akiza asked her
"Panic." Dawn replied
"Dawn! Akiza!" I exclaimed
"I activate my second facedown card, "Dark Memories." For every monster in my graveyard, you lose cards from the field and since I have four monsters, you just lost all of your cards!" I heard myself exclaim
"No!" Akiza exclaimed
"Grima, attack her directly and end this duel with Destruction Burst Blast!" I heard myself exclaim as the Mark of Grima burned brightly on my right hand
"Mary!" Akiza said
Mary LP 0/ Sakura LP 6900
"I… I lost." Mary said as her legs gave out on her
"And now you keep the bargain we made. I would prefer if you didn't resist me, Akiza." I heard myself say
"D… Dawn help me… please…" Akiza said in a scared tone while backing away from me as my body grabbed her arm, then forced her onto the Duel Runner that I was forced to ride
"Akiza! Let her go, Sakura!" Dawn exclaimed
"Or what sis that I should have never had have" I heard myself say
"I know Sayer's making you say that. You don't mean any of what you're doing. Let her go, and I can help you." Dawn said while walking up to me
"You never were good with debating, nor are you now. I don't need your help, Dawn. All I need is Sayer." I heard myself say as my body activated the Teleport spell card
"Never mess with the fell dragon." Grima told me in my mind before he appeared in front of me
"Is that why you have me chained?" I asked him
"So you wouldn't get in the way was all." Grima said
"I already agreed to doing whatever you wanted me to do, so this wasn't necessary." I told him
"True but I know who Sayer wants you to go after next since we arrived back at his new base." Grima said while smirking
I watched as my body placed Akiza in one of the strange pods before it activated by placing a weird helmet on her head. I then heard Sayer walk into the room as my body turned to face him.
"Great job Sakura." Sayer said
"Sayer." I heard my body say in a happy tone
"After I get Akiza back to our side… the next person I want you to go after is your own sister." Sayer told my body
I looked horrified at what Sayer said as I suddenly heard my body yawn a bit.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to disrespect you just now. The truth is, I used a lot of my power getting Akiza here without a fight. I need to rest for a while." My body told him
"That's why you're going tomorrow to get her." Sayer said
"I can't wait." I heard my body say
"With her and you, nobody can stop me from reforming the Arcadia Movement!" Sayer said
I felt my body smile as I started to cry. Dawn… Dawn, please… save me from this nightmare.
Dawn's POV
I was staring at the ceiling in my own thoughts when I heard a voice say:
"Dawn… Dawn, please… save me from this nightmare."
I know that voice!
"Sakura?" I asked out loud
"Dawn! Sakura! Akiza! You guys here?" Yusei called out as he, Crow, Jack, Leo and Luna came back
"It's just me." I said sadly
"Where's Sakura and Akiza?" Jack asked me since I was lying on the chair upstairs
"Sayer… has them." I said while looking down at my feet
"What?! How did that happen?" Yusei exclaimed at the same time Crow did
"It… it all happened so fast, I'm not sure. When Akiza and I left to visit Grace, Sakura must've slipped out to find him… and I think he did something to her." I said sadly
I soon felt my phone going off in my pocket and when I pulled it out, I saw it was from the Hospital that Grace was at!
"Hello?" I said
"Is this Dawn Phoenix?" the Nurse said
"Yes." I said
"I wanted you to know that Grace Baxter woke up 10 minutes ago from her coma and her first emergency contact which was Sakura, didn't pick up so you were her second contact." the Nurse told me
"I see. I'm glad she's awake." I said
"And she wants you and your friends to visit her right away since she missed you." The Nurse explained
"Okay. We'll be there shortly. Thank you." I said before the nurse hung up the phone before I said:
"That was the hospital. Grace is awake."
"Let's go!" Leo exclaimed while trying to hide the fact he was in love with Grace
"Let's suit up and go." I said
Sakura, I know for sure now. You're fighting whatever Sayer did to you, and you're not going to stop until he's back in the Facility tied up in a straightjacket. You've always been there for me. Now it's my turn to be there for you.
Detroid: That's one big cliffhanger. Wouldn't you agree my cute Fennekin?
sakuraphoenix: *blushes* Completely
Detroid: How will Dawn save her sister from the clutches of Sayer and what will Sakura make Mary do to have her regain Sakura's trust after what happened before and this question will be asked in the next chapter.
sakuraphoenix: Until then, I'm sakuraphoenix…
Detroid: And I'm Detroid…. but before we end this off like usual.. there is something that we should say that will be later in the future so the readers know.
sakuraphoenix: And that would be?
Detroid: You know what it is my cute Fennekin. It has to do with "tan" in it's name.
sakuraphoenix: Would this be the fanfic we're planning?
