Chapter 10: Can't Keep a Grumblemon Down

Sheesh, you're here one minute, and you're gone the next! Seriously Jack! Get your ego in check! While you're at it, get mini-you to stop acting like you!
"What if something bad happened to them?" asked Takuya
"Oh no! Wait? What if something bad happens to us?" asked Tommy
"Don't say that! You're scaring me! Uh, scaring Zoe." Said J.P.
"Yeah right. You were totally scared." I said
"I totally agree with you Saki." Said Crow
"Hey! That's my line!" exclaimed Matt
"Can we get back to looking for Jack and Koji?" asked Yusei
"Sorry." Leo and Luna said in unison
"What's that?" Zoe and Akiza asked in unison
Nothing to be scared of. It was just the sunrise. And it sure was blinding!
"It's called the sun Zoe. Good eye." Takuya said sarcastically
"Yeah, and it looks like Neemon and Bokomon took off after them." I said
"Huh. Hey! It's a note!" exclaimed Leo
"Two of them you mean. They're from Koji and Jack." Said Luna
The note from Koji read: I'm going on alone so I can actually get something done. That does it! It's official! You are so anti-social! The note from Jack said: I'm going on a walk to think about things I can actually get done. Okay! That's it! Jack, when I see you again, I'm hitting you in the face as Lunamon!
"Even in a note, he sounds like a jerk." Said Takuya
"I agree, though Jack was a jerk long before I met him." I said
"Man that Koji sure can be selfish." Said J.P.
"Jack's just Jack. He comes and goes like the wind. Makes me wonder why his parent's didn't name him Windy." Crow said before snickering at his own joke
I had chuckled as well. Man, Crow knew how to crack a joke.
"I guess they like to be on their own, and given this group, sometimes I understand." Said Zoe
Suddenly, J.P. took the notes.
"They want to be on their own? Fine!" J.P. exclaimed as he tore up the notes
"Well, at least Koji can take care of himself." Said Takuya
"Yeah, the same can't exactly be said for Jack." Said Yusei
"Yeah. The last time he took care of himself was when he put hair gel in his hair." Said Crow
"I totally agree with you to. When was the last time he took care of himself?" I asked
They both shrugged their shoulders, confirming my thoughts.
"Still, even though Koji can take care of himself, I doubt he's gonna take care of Jack, Bokomon, and Neemon. This is becoming a disaster." I sighed
"I completely agree with you Sakura! We're gonna have to find them!" exclaimed Takuya
"Now that's the spirit." I said
"Yeah, well without me! I'm going solo!" exclaimed Crow
"Crow! Ugh, I'll fly overhead. At least I'll get a bird's eye view." I sighed as I activated my duel disk
"Can your powers support two wings?" asked Crow
"Yeah, it can. Hold onto your headband Crow. Transcendent Wings!" I exclaimed as I activated the card
Two sets of wings appeared on mine and Crow's backs.
"We'll meet up with you later. I'll sure of it." I said
We flew overhead, and then I could've sworn I saw a human-slash-Digimon bowling ball knock over a rock-like Digimon.
"Thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked
"We found Jack?" asked Crow
"We found Jack." I said
And we watched him and Koji follow a rock-like Digimon, until we saw some explosions as they neared a rock.
"Okay, Jack later. Find out whatever caused that explosion now." I said
"Yeah, you said it Saki!" exclaimed Crow
"Wingmon can fly. Lunamon can't. I'll land close to the explosions." I said
As soon as I did, I activated my D-Tector.
"Execute! Spirit Evolution! Lunamon!" I exclaimed
I then saw the source of our problems, Grumblemon, and then Koji and Jack showed up, followed by Crow.
"Grumblemon." Said Koji
"Hmm? Hehehe. It you four. That good. I have been looking for you." Said Grumblemon
"Ya have, eh?" I asked
"So what?" asked Jack
"You get away once before, but if I defeating and get spirits, Cherubimon be much grateful to Grumblemon. Slide Evolution!" exclaimed Grumblemon
Data then surrounded him. Oh no! Here comes Gigasmon!
"Gigasmon!" exclaimed Gigasmon
Koji brought out his kendo blades while Crow readied his wings, and Jack got into a fighting stance. As for me, I was gathering sunlight into my scepter.
"Lobo Kendo!" Koji exclaimed as Gigasmon was coming down
"Luna Meteor!" I exclaimed
"Feather Strike!" exclaimed Crow
"Forcing Judgment!" exclaimed Jack
There was a huge explosion comprised of our attacks, and the next thing I knew, all I saw was black. When I woke up, I saw a bunch of rock-like Digimon around me, with Crow, Jack, and Koji all having looks of relief on their faces.
"You're okay." Said Crow
"Yeah." I said
I then noticed that there was a small table set up with some tea inside some cups. As much as I didn't like tea, I would be impolite if I refused to drink the tea. I tried a bit, and I have to admit, it was better than the tea I've had before. Even so, Jack and Crow looked like they were on the banged up side, so I activated Dian Keto the Cure Master to help them out a bit.
"Thanks Saki." Said Crow
"Yeah, whatever." Said Jack
"Crow, remind me why I'm friends with him?" I asked
"Is there anything we can do?" asked Bokomon
"No." said Koji
One of those rock-like Digimon tossed him something.
"This'll make you feel better." The Digimon that tossed the thing said
"I don't need anyone's help." Said Koji
"Yeah. I can tell. You did such a great job yourself." The same Digimon said
"So? You can't do better." Said Jack
"I will! I'll be a hero! And I won't need any help like you do!" The rock-like Digimon exclaimed as he opened some kind of door
"Don't! You'll just make Grumblemon angry with us!" exclaimed another rock-like Digimon
"He's right! Don't make trouble for the rest of us!" exclaimed a third
"Let go!" exclaimed the first Digimon
"Look kid, you just don't stand a chance." Said Crow
"Yeah, maybe I don't, but I can't do any worse than you! I know that for sure! Some legendary warriors, and the rest of you are no better!" The first Digimon exclaimed before running off
"Well, there he goes. Off to save the world on his own." Said the third Digimon
"Crazy kid's got rocks in his head." Said the second Digimon
"If you ask me, that Gotsumon's gonna get us all destroyed." Said the third Gotsumon
"Yes, there's no hope for us now, unless he really does find the spirits." Said a fourth Gotsumon
"The spirits?! If Grumblemon gets those, we'll never stop him!" exclaimed Koji
"Where are these spirits?" I asked
The Gotsumon told us about three statues, so we went to them, and each one had a different symbol at the base.
"They said there's an inscription, but I don't see it." Said Bokomon
"Abrakawhozits." Said Neemon
"But that's the same mark as Lobomon's. I wonder if that means that Koji's Beast Spirit is here somewhere." Said Bokomon
"Not just Koji's. Crow's symbol is on the left statue, and Jack's symbol is on the right. Oh man, why did you two have to get your Beast Spirits first? I bet that mine is cool." I sighed
"Hey, you know what they say, beggars can't be choosers." Said Crow
"Yeah. I know. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm getting jealous." I said
"For once you're jealous of me?" asked Jack
"Yeah. Put it in the history books Jack. You're gonna remember it for a while." I sighed
"What are you doing now?" Neemon asked after Koji, Jack, and Crow pulled out their D-Tectors
"The D-Tector can sense spirits. How can you live here not knowing these things?" asked Bokomon
"'Cause I'm not a D-Tector, am I?" asked Neemon
"You're impossible, you know that?" I asked
"Finally, someone who gets it." Said Bokomon
"Well, before you get into an argument, I'm not picking up anything. You?" Crow asked Jack
"Nothing. Any luck Koji?" asked Jack
"Not yet." Said Koji
Matt's P.O.V.
Great, out of all the times Sakura chooses to ditch us with Crow to look for Jack and Koji, it was now! I could sure use a lawnmower right around now. And before I could think even more, Gigasmon appeared! Not good!
Sakura's P.O.V.
There was an explosion in the distance. I guess that means that troll-face is back!
"Uh-oh, not Gigasmon again." Said Koji
"Maybe he's finding Takuya and the others." Said Bokomon
"For our sakes, let's hope not." Said Crow
"Come on, let's go." Said Koji
"Wait! What about the spirits?" asked Bokomon
"Later." Said Jack
Matt's P.O.V.
"Okay, who's to be first beaten up real good?" asked Gigasmon
"Me!" exclaimed Zoe
"No, me!" exclaimed Takuya
"Me too!" exclaimed J.P.
"And me!" exclaimed Tommy
"Don't forget about me!" exclaimed Leo
"And me!" exclaimed Luna
"Hey, save some for the guys!" I exclaimed
"And the girls!" exclaimed Akiza
"You can say that again!" exclaimed Yusei
"Execute! Spirit Evolution!" We all exclaimed in unison
"Agunimon!" exclaimed Takuya
"Beetlemon!" exclaimed J.P.
"Fairymon!" exclaimed Luna
"Fleurmon!" exclaimed Akiza
"Kazemon!" exclaimed Zoe
"Kizunamon!" I exclaimed
"Kumamon!" exclaimed Tommy
"Spiritmon!" exclaimed Leo
"Starmon!" exclaimed Yusei
"You want big fight? You guys not know quit, do you?" asked Gigasmon
"Pyro Tornado!" exclaimed Takuya
"Tempest Twist!" exclaimed Zoe
"Thunder Fist!" exclaimed J.P.
"Crystal Freeze!" exclaimed Tommy
"Quintessence Arrow!" exclaimed Luna
"Petal Storm!" exclaimed Akiza
"Assist! Pyro Tornado!" I exclaimed
"Holy Sword!" exclaimed Leo
"Star Shot!" exclaimed Yusei
All those attacks and no dice!
"Quagmire Twister!" exclaimed Gigasmon
We were all sent into the air, and then Tommy's and Luna's fractal codes appeared!
"Tommy!" exclaimed Zoe
"Luna!" exclaimed Leo
"You finished!" exclaimed Gigasmon
Leo and Zoe pushed Tommy and Luna out of the way of Gigasmon's attack, but that looked like it hurt.
"Kazemon!" exclaimed Tommy
"Spiritmon!" exclaimed Luna
"You done now!" exclaimed Gigasmon
Their fractal codes appeared, and Gigasmon took their spirits! Not good.
"Zoe! No!" exclaimed Tommy
"Brother!" exclaimed Luna
We all went in for the attack. He was gonna pay.
"Taste good. Slide Evolution!" exclaimed Gigasmon
And the troll was back! And he got us with his hammers. Man. That hurt.
"More tasty spirits for me! Ha!" exclaimed Grumblemon
The next thing I saw, Lobomon and Lunamon showed up and attacked Grumblemon with their laser attacks!
"Why don't you taste these first? Howling Laser!" exclaimed Koji
"Planetary Laser!" exclaimed Sakura
Sakura then grabbed him by the armor.
"How'd you like that you little troll?" asked Sakura
"Not too bad." Said Grumblemon
"What's wrong? Don't you want our spirits anymore?" asked Sakura
"Still got double tricks up sleeve!" Grumblemon exclaimed before he missed my head
"Not bad, but I love magic. Here's another trick. Boot sandwich!" Sakura exclaimed as she kicked him in the face, causing them both to fall backwards
"You pay for that! Slide Evolution!" exclaimed Grumblemon
And here comes Gigasmon!
"You running way good. Me see how good at fighting!" exclaimed Gigasmon
There were three explosions in the distance. I hope she's okay.
Sakura's P.O.V.
Jack, Crow, Koji, and I were fighting Gigasmon like crazy!
"Quagmire Twister!" exclaimed Gigasmon
He got Jack, Crow, and Koji!
"Hey! Down here troll-face! Luna Meteor!" I exclaimed as I threw my scepter
"Nice try. Quagmire Twister!" exclaimed Gigasmon
He then got me, and my fractal code appeared! He then took my spirit, leaving me as Sakura. He then went after the others, but the Gotsumon from earlier protected Koji, Jack, and Crow, and gave them something. I don't know what it was, but it made them swing over to the top of the statues. They put in the thing that Gotsumon gave them, and some light began to shine.
"That's not good." Said Gigasmon
Three beams of light hit Gigasmon, and revealed three Beast Spirits!
"Beast Spirit!" Crow, Jack, and Koji exclaimed in unison
They then activated their D-Tectors. Talk about a close one if you ask me.
"Me not afraid of Beast Spirit." Said Gigasmon
"Well he should be." I said
I watched as multiple rings of data appeared around Koji's, Crow's, and Jack's hands.
"Execute! Beast Spirit Evolution!" Koji, Crow, and Jack exclaimed in unison
Koji then looked like a white dog with blades while Jack looked like a gold dragon with jewel encrusted blades, and Crow looked like a weird vulture.
"KendoGarurumon!" exclaimed Koji
"Hawkmon!" exclaimed Crow
"Emperormon!" exclaimed Jack
Whoa. Now I have to admit, they look pretty cool.
"Hey there. Nice doggie. Sit! Nice birdie. Sing! Nice dragon. Play dead!" exclaimed Gigasmon
They looked like they were going on the attack, but had some trouble controlling their Beast Spirits.
"Ha! Look like things not so bad for me after all. You should keep what you not in control!" exclaimed Gigasmon
Three against one. And the winner… after a huge explosion… and Gigasmon diving into the sea… is KendoGarurumon, Hawkmon, and Emperormon. Good thing Jack and Crow could fly back up next to us, because they looked pretty banged up.
"You two okay?" I asked as I ran up to them
"Who knew that using a Beast Spirit could take so much out of a guy?" asked Crow
"You said it. But I should be asking the same for you. Gigasmon…" started Jack
"I know. He took Lunamon, but it's okay. I'm not helpless after all. I'll get my spirit back. You'll see. I may not be able to help on the front lines, but at least I can heal you guys up when you really need it." I said
We all laughed at that. Even though I am upset that I lost my spirit, I think my former friendship with Jack has been restored, for the most part. Maybe my opinion on him has changed after all.
