Chapter 13: Better an Egg than an Egg Shell
Hey everyone! It's me, sakuraphoenix, and I'm back with a new chapter! I know. What's with the hold up? Well, I've been busy with a few things. Unfortunately, my final exams are around the corner, and it doesn't help that for two of my exams I have to get up at 7:30 in the morning! Man, that's gonna cut away at my beauty sleep. In any case, let's move onto the disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh. I only own my OCs and the Spirits/Beast Spirits I made up for this thing.

Man, with fog this dense, I can't see anything! I could probably see at least six inches in front of me, and that was it.
"I can't believe it. We're actually here." Said Takuya
"My legs can believe it. *groan*." J.P. groaned as he was exhausted from all the walking
"There's the sign. Forest Terminal." Said Yusei
"Um, but shouldn't there be a Trailmon here?" asked Koji
"Yeah, really." Said Zoe
"Huh? Well, maybe they're on their way back right now. Or uh, you know, they uh, c-could be… oh man." Said Takuya
"Yeah, well we better find a meat apple tree or something. We ate the last of the meat apples last night. I don't have any more food in my bag." I said while shaking out some crumbs from my duffle bag
"Huh? Hey, who cares about a Trailmon or a meat apple tree? There's a restaurant here!" exclaimed J.P.
True to that word, there was.
"Welcome weary travelers." The peacock-like Digimon said
"What do you have to eat?" asked Tommy
"Ask instead what I don't have to eat. Step right up friends, and don't worry about money. For you, the first meal is free." The peacock-like Digimon said
That sounds too good to be true.
"Now there's a man who knows what he likes and doesn't care what he eats. Meal surprise! Coming right up!" the Digimon exclaimed
As far as I could tell, he makes the food fresh. Now that's service.
"Dig on in!" the Digimon exclaimed
"Hail to the chef!" We all exclaimed in unison
I took a taste of the noodles, and they were terrible! Even Jack spat them out, and he's a total instant noodles fan!
"We must respectfully decline your kind offer of food." Said Bokomon
"I can't feel my tummy anymore." Said Neemon
"Alright, alright. What's the big idea? I just can't believe all of you are gonna turn down free food." The Digimon said while he was evidentially ticked
"That was food?" asked Zoe
"I'm insulted!" The Digimon exclaimed
"I'm gonna be sick." Said Takuya
"Fine. Get outta here kids. You're bugging me. Go on and go to the Forest Terminal. They say no one's ever returned from there." The Digimon said
"Yeah well, we'll just take our chances. I doubt the Forest Terminal will be any worse than this food!" exclaimed Takuya
"Aw, come on guys. I was just trying to be nice, that's all." The Digimon said while crying
"Being nice has nothing to do with cooking. And rumors don't matter to us. We've already been told that we have to go to the Forest Terminal." Said Takuya
After everyone else left, I quickly took out a piece of paper and started to write. The chef looked confused at what I was doing.
"I know this is going to be an insult, seeing that I'm a customer, and you're the chef, but why don't you try making this recipe? If you use fresh water, it'll really bring out the taste for your noodles. With any luck, maybe this'll help your business." I said
"Fresh water?!" The Digimon exclaimed
"Yeah, I mean, it doesn't make sense to use dirty sock water to cook noodles. Do that and you'll definitely have your customers get sick. It's just a suggestion though." I said
"No, this is kindness. Thank you so much! When I master this recipe, I'll be sure to let you and your friends try it immediately!" The Digimon exclaimed
I smiled before I quickly ran out of the restaurant to meet up with the others.
"Let's go." Said Koji
"Okay." Said Takuya
"Yeah." Said Zoe
We made it to the platform, but it was abandoned. No one in sight.
"This place is empty too." Said Koji
"Yeah, and just a little bit creepy." Said Zoe
"Keep your eyes peeled guys." Said Takuya
"For what?" asked J.P.
"All we can see is fog, fog, and more fog." Crow said with his arms behind his back
"Well, there have to be some people here." Said Akiza
"What if they're all… *gulp* ghosts?!" J.P. exclaimed in fright
"I guess we have no choice but to keep walking." Said Takuya
"Man, this world sure loves its walking." Said J.P.
Please tell me it's the fog and not me. There's a freakin' fork in the road!
"Great! Now what?" asked Takuya
Tommy's D-Tector started to beep and showed us a map! Looks like we're going right.
"It's that way." Tommy said while pointing to the right
We walked in that direction, but we were met with a dead end!
"Tommy, it's a dead end." Said Takuya
"Yeah. Are you sure it wasn't the other way?" asked Zoe
Now J.P.'s D-Tector was lighting up like a Christmas tree. After it did, the trees in our way stood upright.
"And for my next trick." J.P. said jokingly
At least we were able to move forward again, but the fog was only getting thicker.
"Man, I can't see anything in this fog!" exclaimed Takuya
"I know. We could be attacked." Said Koji
Zoe's D-Tector now started to beep.
"Hey, maybe my D-Tector's good for something too." Said Zoe
It created a sphere that glowed neon pink, and a strong wind blew, clearing the fog, and revealing a beautiful city not too far from where we were.
"I hate it when I'm right." Said Zoe
And while we were walking, I couldn't help but look around.
"This place is beautiful!" exclaimed Tommy
"Doesn't mean it's not dangerous." Said Koji
"What if this is where the person from our D-Tector's lives? We did get a message to come here." Said Tommy
"Well, should I knock?" asked J.P.
"I still don't think it's safe." Said Koji
Now his D-Tector beeped and lit up, and the doors opened.
"Well, at least they're polite, I guess." Said Takuya
"Yeah, that or eager to lure us in there." Said J.P.
"Don't say stuff like that! I'll get scared! I… I mean, Luna will get scared!" exclaimed Leo
"I'm perfectly fine Leo." Said Luna
"Super! Then I'm fine as well." Said Leo
"I say we go inside. How bad could it be? Sleeping Beauty used to live in a castle in the forest." Said Zoe
"Yeah, well, so did the wicked witch." Said Koji
"We'll never find out what's in there if we don't go in." said Tommy
"Says the kid at the back of the line." Said J.P.
And Takuya used the door knocker. No answer.
"Maybe no one lives here." Said Tommy
"Maybe you should open up a wishful thinking store Tommy." Said Takuya
Takuya's D-Tector then lit up, and in we go, I suppose.
"Get back, Cherubimon's scum!" A Digimon that looked like a Wizardmon exclaimed
"Hold it! Isn't that Wizardmon?!" I exclaimed
"But he's a different color." Said J.P.
"We can beat him! Just like we beat Gigasmon!" exclaimed Takuya
"Gigasmon? But he's one of Cherubimon's goons." Said the white Wizardmon
"Yeah?" asked Jack
"So you're not allies with Cherubimon." Said the white Wizardmon
"Are you kidding?" asked Akiza
"Look, why don't you put down that wand, okay?" asked Crow
"Crow's right. We're all on the same side. Isn't it obvious?" asked Yusei
"This is what comes of fighting too much. Everyone seems to be an enemy. I apologize friends. How did you find this place?" asked the white Wizardmon
"Uh, we got a message on our D-Tectors. The message told all of us to come here to the Forest Terminal. There was no one at the station, so when we kept walking, we found this place." I said
"Huh, a message. Could it be? My solitude has driven common courtesy from me. I apologize. My name is Sorcermon. Please, come in. I have something important to show you." Said Sorcermon
We might as well follow.
"Where are you taking us anyway?" asked Koji
"To meet someone." Said Sorcermon
"I bet it's a trap." Said Koji
"You think everything's a trap." Said Tommy
"Caution is wise friends, but only within reason. This is no trap. This is a prophecy." Said Sorcermon
We were led inside to a crystal throne room.
"So, where is he?" asked Koji
"Up there." Said Sorcermon
We looked at the ceiling, and saw a crystal.
"Allow me to introduce our salvation: Seraphimon." Said Sorcermon
It was some Digimon trapped in a pentagonal crystal.
"Um, are we supposed to know who that is?" asked Akiza
"Seraphimon was one of the Three Celestial Digimon chosen to rule this world." Said Sorcermon
"So, what are we supposed to do? We can't talk to him while he's crystalized." I said
"Perhaps not for long. There is a prophecy." Said Sorcermon
"Let your light shine as one." A female voice said
That voice! It's the same one from the D-Tector's!
"That was Lady Ophanimon! She was the one who asked me to watch over Seraphimon!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"Ophanimon? She must be the voice that told us to come here." Said Takuya
"It's all falling into place. I brought you here because the prophecy says that one day, a group of wayward humans will free Seraphimon." Said Sorcermon
"Typical. Humans get to do everything. When is my turn?" asked Bokomon
"How about next week?" asked Neemon
"Be quiet." Said Bokomon
"So what did she mean?" asked Koji
"I have no idea, but my D-Tector is glowing like a lantern!" I exclaimed
Everyone else's, except for Zoe's, J.P.'s, Koji's, Tommy's, and Takuya's D-Tectors were doing the same thing! A bunch of crimson lights appeared, and we focused it on the crystal, and no sooner than we did, Seraphimon was free!
"The prophecy!" exclaimed Sorcermon
Well, the guy was awake alright.
"Welcome back, Lord Seraphimon." Said Sorcermon
"It's good to be back, my faithful servant. You have done well. Sorcermon, tell me. There's so little I remember." Said Seraphimon
"My lord, when your defeat seemed eminent, Ophanimon was able to get you to safety. She sealed you away from danger so you could be revived after the trouble had passed." Said Sorcermon
"Ophanimon! That's right. Has she been harmed? Why isn't she here?" asked Seraphimon
"Truth is often unpleasant, I'm afraid. No one knows where she is. But these humans have been in contact with her, so all is not lost." Sorcermon said while motioning to us
"These humans? But… most of them are only children." Said Seraphimon
"Yes, but they're also Legendary Warriors, and if not for them, you'd still be stuck to the ceiling." Said Bokomon
"Legendary Warriors? Impressive." Said Seraphimon
"Hey, and listen. Just what is going on here? We've been lying all over, getting our snot kicked out, and we don't know why we were brought into this crazy world!" exclaimed Takuya
"Yeah, someone owes us some answers." Said Zoe
"And I think you're that someone. So tell us what's going on." Said Koji
"Uh, please?" asked Tommy
"Very well brave ones. I shall tell you. If you want answers, you will have them. The story begins long ago when Human Digimon and Beast Digimon warred against each other. Their battle laid waste to the Digital World, befouling what was once beautiful, but Lucemon appeared and brought an end to the fighting. For a time, he ruled in peace, but soon, he was corrupted by his own power." Said Seraphimon
"My, this story sure sounds familiar." Said Bokomon
"Bokomon!" We all exclaimed
"What?" asked Bokomon
"The first ten Legendary Warriors arose to free the oppressed Digimon. They battled valiantly, and after a fierce battle, they appeared to be no match against Lucemon, until a great crimson red dragon appeared, aiding the first Legendary Warriors with ten more Legendary Warriors, and with their might, were able to defeat the tyrannical Lucemon. After peace was restored to the Digital World, champions were chosen to protect that peace. Cherubimon, Ophanimon, and myself. But as before, our time of harmony was short-lived. Cherubimon wanted to control the Digital World by himself, and so, attacked me. You know the rest of the story, thanks to Sorcermon. Ophanimon rescued me and brought me to safety here where I have slumbered and regained my strength, until I was awakened by you Legendary Warriors." Said Seraphimon
"Luckily you came when we needed Seraphimon most. The Digital World is in a crisis, as you can see." Sorcermon said as he brought up a map of the Digital World
"Man, the Digital World looks like Swiss cheese." Takuya said
"And the future looks even more bleak. You see, Cherubimon has sent his minions to destroy it. What's worse, it seems he's gained some allies." Said Sorcermon
"This is even more serious than I imagined. We must find Ophanimon at once!" exclaimed Seraphimon
"Yes, my lord. Your combined might can surely defeat Cherubimon, and of course you'll have my help. While you slept, I felt that I have too, and I have dreamt only of fighting at your side against that evil creature." Said Sorcermon
"Dear, brave Sorcermon. You are a true friend. Thank you. Your courage gives me strength." Said Seraphimon
"I am as you taught me." Said Sorcermon
"And I must thank you for your courage. All would be lost, were it not for you. But now, I must ask that you do one more favor for me. Before the fighting begins, go back to your own world." Said Seraphimon
Did this guy just really say that? After we all risked our necks to get here?!
"Your task is done, and it's too dangerous for you to stay." Said Seraphimon
"But we're Legendary Warriors!" exclaimed Takuya
"Yeah. We can't just walk away now." Said Zoe
The door was then busted down by Grumblemon's hammer! Oh great, and this time, he brought friends!
"Good. Whole brat brigade here." Said Grumblemon
"And ready to fight!" exclaimed Takuya
"You better be, 'cause me introduce other Digimon who defeat you. Ranamon." Said Grumblemon
"Charmed, I'm sure." Said Ranamon
I smell something fishy here. Literally.
"Arbormon!" exclaimed Grumblemon
"You're in for it now, right?" asked Arbormon
"Fearmon." Said Grumblemon
Fearmon looked like a normal person, save for the mask and outfit choice.
"These are our enemies?" Fearmon asked with an unimpressed tone in his voice
"And lastly, Mercurymon!" exclaimed Grumblemon
"So these be the whelps whose have given thee so much trouble? Pathetic." Said Mercurymon
"They'll be tougher than look." Said Grumblemon
"Verily. It will be utter delight to defeat thee and to hand Seraphimon another grubbing to Cherubimon's name." said Mercurymon
"With so many options, I don't know where to start." Said Ranamon
"Enough of your meaningless taunts. Tell me where Ophanimon is, now!" exclaimed Seraphimon
"Me no care about her. Me just want Beast Spirit back! So give it!" Grumblemon exclaimed as he raised his hammer into the air
"Why don't you come get it, buddy?" asked Takuya
"Yeah!" exclaimed J.P.
"Yeah!" exclaimed Tommy
Everyone that could activated their D-Tector's.
"Execute… Spirit Evolution!" everyone minus Zoe exclaimed in unison
"Agunimon!" exclaimed Takuya
"Lunamon!" I exclaimed
"Starmon!" exclaimed Yusei
"Lobomon!" exclaimed Koji
"Rulermon!" exclaimed Jack
"Wingmon!" exclaimed Crow
"Beetlemon!" exclaimed J.P.
"Kizunamon!" exclaimed Matt
"Fairymon!" exclaimed Luna
"Kumamon!" exclaimed Tommy
"Spiritmon!" exclaimed Leo
"Fleurmon!" exclaimed Akiza
"The Legendary Warriors have returned." Said Sorcermon
"If that big doofus hadn't stolen my spirit, I'd show him a thing or two." Said Zoe
"Yeah? Well did, and now I show you thing or three!" exclaimed Grumblemon
"You sure you don't wanna get warmed up first? Pyro Darts!" Takuya exclaimed
And missed.
"Ooh, he's feisty." Said Ranamon
"Howling Laser!" exclaimed Lobomon
"You might as well shoot at the floor, sugar." Ranamon said as she dodged his attack
"Thunder Fist!" exclaimed J.P.
"Star Shot!" exclaimed Yusei
"Feather Shot!" exclaimed Crow
"Forcing Judgment!" exclaimed Jack
"Assist! Forcing Judgment!" exclaimed Matt
"Petal Storm!" exclaimed Akiza
"Quintessence Arrow!" exclaimed Luna
"Lunamon, I have an idea! Have you seen The Avengers?" asked Leo
"Yeah, why?" I asked
"Remember that scene after the Tesseract opened that portal and both Captain America and Iron Man worked together?" asked Leo
"You're thinking about the old fashioned fake-out, aren't you?" I asked
"Yep. Superior Shield!" Leo exclaimed as he twirled his sword around at a fast speed to make it like a shield
"Planetary Laser!" I exclaimed as I aimed for the shield
And that one worked. It got Grumblemon, Fearmon, and Arbormon.
"Thanks, but an overwhelmingly, underwhelming lesson in combat. Let me show ya how it's done. Draining Rain!" exclaimed Ranamon
And most of the boys were getting soaked, and not only that, it looked like their strength was getting sapped out of them!
"Roundhouse Punt!" exclaimed Arbormon
And we got kicked in the face.
"That was too easy." Ranamon said as she jumped in front of us
"Aye." Said Arbormon
"Go get your Beast Spirit rock head. Fetch." Said Ranamon
"Be careful or you get smashed next Ranamon!" exclaimed Grumblemon
"Grumblemon, no! You cannot do this!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"I beg your pardon?" asked Fearmon
"You shall not lead us down the path of ruin. I waited a lifetime to see peace restored to the Digital World, and you're not going to stop it from returning! Crystal Barrage!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"Thou art a fool. Dark Reflection!" Mercurymon exclaimed as he sent Sorcermon's attack back at him
"Sorcermon!" Seraphimon exclaimed as he ran up to his friend
"Worry not, my lord." Said Sorcermon
Seraphimon clearly was concerned, but he flew out of the way as Mercurymon was charging in.
"Have at you!" Mercurymon exclaimed as he missed
Not only did Mercurymon miss, but he flew right in front of the boys!
"Strike of the Seven Stars!" exclaimed Seraphimon
That's gotta leave a mark, for Ranamon, Grumblemon, and Arbormon that is.
"Please, I ask you again that you return to your world and leave this to me!" exclaimed Seraphimon
"There's no way we'll leave!" exclaimed Tommy
"Yeah! Even if we wanted to, we don't know how!" exclaimed J.P.
"I can't fight them keep you safe! You must go!" exclaimed Seraphimon
"Are you kidding? You can't fight all those guys by yourself! I mean, come on! You just woke up!" exclaimed Takuya
"You need us!" exclaimed Koji
"We should be fighting them." Said Sorcermon
"Find by us. We fight you good." Said Grumblemon
Man, these guys don't know when to quit, do they?!
"Draining Rain!" exclaimed Ranamon
"Roundhouse Punt!" exclaimed Arbormon
"Strike of the Seven Stars!" exclaimed Seraphimon
Mercurymon suddenly appeared with his mirror shields!
"Dark Reflection!" exclaimed Mercurymon
And Seraphimon was hit! Not only that, his Fractal Code appeared!
"To the victor go the spoils." Said Mercurymon
"No!" exclaimed Sorcermon
And Mercurymon got Seraphimon's Fractal Code! Oh no!
"Seraphimon turned into a Digi-Egg!" exclaimed Yusei
"How ironic. Seraphimon sought to defeat Cherubimon, but now his Fractal Code shall be used for our ends." Said Mercurymon
"No. It can't be. The hope of the Digital World is gone." Sorcermon said sadly
"No it's not! Maybe we can bring him back if we have his egg, right Sorcermon? Hey!" Zoe exclaimed as she held Seraphimon's egg
"Yes! We must protect that egg at all costs!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"Oh, thou shant get far. Trust me." Said Mercurymon
"If we can get the egg to Ophanimon, she may be able to revive Seraphimon." Said Sorcermon
"Alright, come and get it!" exclaimed Jack
"Thee not stupid." Said Mercurymon
"What's the matter? Chicken?" asked Crow
"Yeah you big metal head!" exclaimed Leo
"Very well. Thine fate is sealed. We shall take it by unpleasant, painful, agonizing force." Said Mercurymon
"Arrogance will be your downfall." Sorcermon said as the wall behind us shattered
He led us through the door behind the hidden wall. Just as we went through, we all de-Spirit Evolved. Talk about a much needed getaway plan!
"Quick! This way!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"Well, duh!" exclaimed J.P.
We hurried to run down this hall, but the evil Digimon behind us were coming for us!
"We coming get you!" exclaimed Grumblemon
Now's the time for some kind of landslide!
"You may escape through here!" Sorcermon exclaimed as he pressed a button
The way in front of us opened and there was a Trailmon waiting!
"Wow! A getaway Trailmon!" exclaimed J.P.
"Thank goodness." Said Akiza
"Come on! Let's go!" Takuya exclaimed as we ran inside the Trailmon
"Sorcermon! Hurry up!" exclaimed Zoe
"I'm not coming." Said Sorcermon
"What?" asked Matt
"The egg is all that matters now. I must ensure its safety. Now go! There isn't much time!" exclaimed Sorcermon
"You don't stand a chance!" exclaimed Luna
"Take care of Seraphimon! He's our last hope." Sorcermon said as the door closed
"No! We won't leave you!" exclaimed Tommy
"This Trailmon seems to have other ideas!" I exclaimed as the Trailmon began to move
"Sorcermon!" Leo exclaimed as a few tears began to shed themselves
"Leo, that isn't helping." Said Luna
I just watched as the door that led to Seraphimon's castle disappeared from my sight. Sorcermon…
"I can't believe this is all that's left of Seraphimon. I'm never gonna let this go." Zoe said while holding onto Seraphimon's egg
"That egg may be the most important thing in the Digital World right now. It's its last hope. All of Cherubimon's forces are gonna be gunning for it. But no matter what happens, we gotta protect it. We can't let Sorcermon's sacrifice be in vain. I hate to say this, but it's up to us now guys!" exclaimed Takuya
