Ginger looked up at the clock and nearly gasped out loud. The ocelot had been sitting in the library all morning, watching Edward flip through countless piles of books about science, alchemy, and history. She knew from experience that the boy would never leave the building until he was ready, even if he had already skipped two meals without realizing it.
"Hey Ed, are we going to leave soon? It's already past your lunchtime!"
Edward didn't look up from his book as his stomach let out a loud grumble that echoed in the silent room. "We'll go get some lunch right after I finish this book..."
"Are you sure you don't wanna go now? I can hear your tummy growling."
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, Gingersnap." Edward looked over his book long enough to smile at his little friend.
"Okay, I'll wait then, if you're sure~" Ginger climbed over a few books to get across the table and sat down with her paws dangling over the edge. She slowly kicked her paws and swayed back and forth while humming a tune to herself. The sound of pages turning was soon accompanied by loud rumbles and growls from Edward's empty stomach. More and more people were starting to stare at him.
"Ughhh, I'm so hungry," Edward sighed as he rubbed his belly up and down. He waited for another loud gurgle from his tummy before he put his book down at last. "If only I had a little snack to hold me over until we get lunch…" He gazed down at Ginger, a predatory glint in his golden eyes as he slowly licked his lips.
Ginger giggled, blushing behind her tiny paws. "Did you bring some cookies or a granola bar or something?"
"Who needs cookies when you have a delicious little treat like you?" Edward smirked. He lifted Ginger up by the back of her hoodie and held her up over his wide open mouth. Before anyone else could see what they were doing, he casually tossed her onto his tongue and licked her tasty, spotted fur. "Mmm…."
Ginger squeaked happily as she turned around on top of Edward's soft and squishy tongue. He lapped the top of her head with the tip of his tongue and she let out a purr that echoed in his mouth.
Edward picked up his book and continued to read as he gently rolled the ocelot around inside his maw. When he left his mouth open, Ginger stretched out on her stomach on top of Edward's tongue and gazed down at the pictures in his book.
When he felt his stomach growl again, Edward tilted his head back and pushed Ginger toward the back of his throat. My tummy wants you, Gingersnap… He closed his mouth and swallowed smoothly. He couldn't help the quiet groan that slipped out when he felt her slid down his throat.
A self satisfied smile appeared on his face when Ginger dropped into his otherwise empty belly. "Ohhh yeah, you really hit the spot, Gingersnap…" Edward sighed happily and leaned back in his chair with his left hand resting on top of his stomach. With his book in his automail hand, he slipped his other hand under his shirt and softly rubbed his tummy while he read.
