Fighting through
Chapter one
Keefe
A force pushed Keefe down, and he tried to move, tried to escape, but the force knew his every next move.
Shards of darkness sunk into Keefe's skin, stabbing him like blades.
The force pulled him deeper, down, down, down.
"LET ME GO!"
He thought, thrashing, and flailing.
Keefe wanted to scream, wanted to wake up, but he floated down, unable to move.
Drowsiness settled in, but Keefe knew before that dragged him in, he had to escape.
Using all his strength, Keefe pushed himself up, up, up toward the non-existing light.
The blackness felt so light, so easy to sit there, floating around the empty space.
But Keefe kept pushing forward, so he could make it.
So he could make it to reality.
The force returned, making Keefe think there was no way out.
But when the force came over, he slipped right through it.
The force chased him, sliding through him, still.
And then Keefe saw it.
A thin line of light shining down into the dark abyss.
He followed the light and it led him to, a soft familiar voice.
"Keefe, I'm here. I know you're not, but I'm here."
Sophie's voice was worried but sweet.
"I'm always here."
She added.
Keefe smiled.
He blinked a few times.
Elwin gasped.
Then Keefe smiled his smug smile. "Oh yeah! I'm back!"
