Chapter 4

Hermione paced nervously in the common room waiting on Harry to come down. Ron was still being a prat to them, though by now they were starting to get used to it. When Harry finally arrived he stared at her in shock for a moment. She was wearing a nice red blouse tucked into dark wash skinny jeans that she hoped hugged her in all the right places, and calf-high boots. Harry had only ever seen her wearing either her uniform or jeans and a jumper. She even managed to tame her wild mane of hair a little bit, and was wearing light makeup. Needless to say Harry suddenly realized that his best friend was in fact a woman now. Hermione fidgeted under Harry's gaze, "do I look ridiculous?" Harry shook his head and let out a low whistle. "Blimey Hermione, you look beautiful, " he said. Blushing she ducked her head down saying a quiet thank you. "So why are you so dressed up today," Harry asked as they left the tower towards the Great Hall for breakfast. "Um, " she hesitated," I have a date to Hogsmead with Kari and Fleur." This was it, she thought, finally coming out to Harry. The dark haired boy smiled broadly at her, surprising her completely. "That's amazing Hermione! You are going to be the most envied girl in all of Hogwarts!" Nodding slowly she just stared at him.

"You are ok with this?" Harry stopped and looked at Hermione. "Of course I am. Honestly I've suspected ever since last year when you kept staring at Katie whenever she wore those short shorts in the common," Harry explained. Hermione blushed deeply hearing that she was caught staring was embarrassing. Who else had noticed? They continued into the Great Hall spotting their friends along with Kari and Fleur at the table. Hermione sat next to Fleur, across from Kari, and began filling her plate with her favorite foods. As the three witches ate their breakfast Hermione idly noticed that both her dates tended to eat more meat than most people. Fleur seemed more in favor of lighter meat, fish and chicken. Kari on the other hand ate heavier meat, beef, goat, pork, and lamb. Quite odd, now that she thought about it. She also remembered Kari and Fleur talking about their "instincts" yesterday in regards to their attraction to each other. Mentally shrugging to herself, Hermione decided to simply focus on the day ahead with these two fascinating women instead.

Their pleasant morning was interrupted by the loud mouth Garbage Shute, as Kari had taken to calling the youngest male Weasley. Ronald stood behind Hermione with a sneer on his still bruised face. "Oh look it's the know-it-all and her pets! Tell me Hermione do they fetch and play dead too?" Dean and Seamus both chuckled at the boy's supposed joke. Kari glanced up at the redhead with a blank face. "Well if it isn't the useless garbage Shute and his lackeys. Come for another round have ya?" Ron audibly gulped in fear as the other two boys shivered, remembering how quickly and violently the silver American treated Ron the last time he insulted Hermione. "You can't touch me," The young Weasley said, trying to sound confidant but failing," You'll be kicked out of Hogwarts!"

Kari just laughed. "They can try. I suggest you keep it moving unless you want to test that theory." Ron turned a deep purple, reminding everyone of a plum before stomping off in a huff. Kari just chuckled as Hermione and Harry shook their heads. Fleur just looked on in confusion before shrugging and snuggling into Hermione. Soon enough they all left the Great Hall to make their way to the carriages. Hermione's nerves were jumping and her mind overloading at the thought that she was going on a date with the two most gorgeous women in all the magical world! That THEY wanted to date HER of all people still made this feel like a dream to the young lion. The three young witches made small talk as the carriages carried them to Hogsmead. Then Kari and Fleur followed Hermione around the small village as a small tour and, with Hermione being Hermione, history lesson of the area. When they finally decided to stop for lunch they chose the ever popular Three Broomsticks. Despite the crowd they managed to find a semi-private table to sit at and enjoy their meal. They each talked about their schools, what they intend to do once they graduate, though Kari remained vague in her response while Fleur surprised Hermione with wanting to be a curse breaker. When asked herself on what she wanted to do after Hogwarts, Hermione hesitated.

"Well I honestly haven't thought about it. I thought about maybe going into politics or the Department of Magical Creatures. Work on changing the outdated laws that are just plain cruel towards anyone that's not human. However I'm still not a hundred percent on what I want to do exactly." Kari and Fleur both smiled and nodded. "Well you have plenty of time to figure it out Darlin' so don't stress about it too much," Kari said wrapping an arm around her waist. Hermione blushed and nodded silently as she also felt Fleur put her arm around the brunette's shoulders. "So what shall we do next Ma Cheries?" The blonde looked to both of her dates smiling at how at home and peaceful she felt just being in both of their presence. Hermione shrugged, there wasn't really much to do here in Scotland during the school year. Kari smirked and began leading the two towards the pathway back to Hogwarts. "How about we go back and cuddle in the library for the rest of the day? Finish up any homework and just enjoy the peace and quiet?" Fleur nodded eagerly and Hermione stared in shock. Seriously she had to be dreaming, there was absolutely no way these two witches existed and were interested in her!

Their next destination decided they made their way back to the castle, arms linked together laughing about silly stories each shared. Kari stooped down swiftly, plucking a beautiful little flower and placed it in Hermione's hair, receiving a shy smile in return. Somewhere along the way all three began holding hands, gently bumping shoulders with easy smiles. Overall they'd all agreed that their first date was a resounding success. Once they all reached the library they chose a secluded corner with a lovely view of the lake. They quietly finished up any homework they had for the weekend. Just simply appreciating the quiet company in each other. Hermione found herself leaning against Kari's left side as she read her potions book. Fleur was leaning on Kari's right side reading what looked to Hermione to be a transfiguration book. Kari herself was reading some odd book that Hermione for the life of her couldn't figure what it was about. Kari's left hand laid lazily on Hermione's hip, idly tracing random patterns.

Once all of their homework was done, the three witches remained cuddling. "So are you hoping to be chosen for the tournament," Hermione asked softly. Kari shrugged while Fleur nodded. "I don't really care if I am chosen. Fame and glory don't appeal to me, neither does the money. I'm pretty much here only because I'm one of the top students," Kari said. Fleur and Hermione looked at her before the brunette turned her attention to Fleur. "I am hopeful of being chosen only so that I can prove to my fellow students and everyone else that I am more than just a pretty face." Hermione and Kari nodded. "Well I'm certain that you will be chosen and will put all those jealous chits on their ass," Kari grinned, squeezing the blonde's shoulders in a light hug. Hermione giggled and leaned her head back onto Kari's shoulder. "Would you think bad of me if I admitted that I hope neither of you are chosen?" The two older witches looked at her with warm smiles. "Not at all Hun, with the high mortality rating of this ridiculous tournament, I'd think less if you were excited that we got picked," the silver witch chuckled. Fleur nodded along as Kari spoke.

"I agree. I know we only just started dating but I know how much you both mean to me already. I will promise right here to both of you that if I am chosen as champion then I will do my very best to come out of the tournament unharmed." Kari seconded the promise, both easing the brunette's worries of them being in the tournament. A short while later it was time for dinner in the Great Hall. The three left the library, Kari in the middle with a beautiful witch on each arm. Hermione could feel the stares as they walked, but it looked like Fleur and Kari were completely oblivious, or simply didn't care. They sat down with Harry and Neville and each happily plated their food. They all talked happily as they ate. Hermione noticed a beautiful blonde with pale blue eyes sitting next to Harry, and she suspected that Harry might have a crush if his blush was anything to go by. She was happy to see him expanding his social circle outside of just her and Ron.
