'Thoughts'
(With Harry and Jack)
The grim reaper followed behind the winter spirit. The two flew through the sky in silence. It didn't take them long to reach the North Pole. Once inside Jack sat on a table. Sandy was next to him. The rest surrounded him.
They all just stared at him. Harry raised an eyebrow in annoyance. He crossed his arms.
"You called me here. Speak!" He ordered.
"R-right." North stuttered. "So what do you do?"
"I guide the souls of the dead or dying. For the dying I help them to accept death. For the dead I examine their souls. If they are bad I send them straight to Hell. Sometimes I have to summon Death because the soul refuses to move on. I don't let them stay due to the damage they may cause. If they are good they get a choice. Heaven, waiting room, or staying. If they stay they become ghosts. I only recommend that option to those with unfinished business. The waiting room is for those who want to be reborn." Harry answered.
Only Tooth and North were really shocked. Aster had seen some of his job so only some of it was a surprise. Jack and Sandy already knew it so they weren't surprised.
"The summer and spring spirits swore they watched you murder kids and that you consorted with Pitch." North said.
"And without any proof or investigating their claims you believed them." The reaper said coldly.
The trio looked guilty. "Once more I'm sorry mate."
"Really sorry." Tooth said.
"You're right. We should have investigated it. Sorry." North said.
"You shouldn't have. It means a lot that you apologized. I'll forgive you this once. That's all." He said.
They all looked at him. They understood where he was coming from. If they had been in his place they might not have forgiven. Tooth tilted her head.
"Why did they lie?" She asked.
"I have no clue. They haven't told me yet. All they have said is that I'm worse than Jack." That shocked them. "It had gotten worse when one saw me talking to Pitch. Apparently that meant that I was plotting to take over the world."
"Oh you talk to him?" Aster didn't sound accusing, which pleased Harry.
"Yes. I don't agree with what he did but fear is necessary. It stops people from doing dangerous, stupid things that could get them injured or killed. Not all the time but for the most part. It makes people fear what they can lose and can make them brave." The dark haired spirit said.
"Maybe we should talk with him. As long as he doesn't have anything evil planned we will leave him alone." North said.
"I agree." Tooth said.
"Great. May I leave now? I am busy." He said.
"Right. Um yes you can leave." North said.
"Bye." Harry flew out and left.
"Jack?" Tooth turned and looked at him.
"Yes?" He looked at her.
"He implied that the summer and spring spirits hate you. Is that true?" That had them all look at the white haired teen.
"All seasonal spirits hate me. Spring, Summer, and Fall hate Winter spirits. Winter spirits hate me as well." He answered.
"Really?" North asked.
"Yes. I don't know why other winter spirits hate me but the rest think all we do is kill plants." He said.
"I see." North said.
"Now that I'm a guardian they leave me alone." He shrugged and stood up. "I have to leave now. Jamie and I are having a snowball fight." Jack flew off.
After he left the others shared a look. What they had heard wasn't good.
"We need to investigate this. Let's talk with Pitch tomorrow. We'll get that off our plate. After that we will see why they lied to us and what Jack went through." North said.
The others nodded. "Good idea."
"I'll send a letter." The Christmas spirit said.
"Okay." With that Tooth, Aster, and Sandy left.
(With Jack)
Jack lied to the other guardians. There was no snowball fight planned. He just wanted to leave. He went to the lake. There was a little burrow there he used as his home. He laid down on the makeshift bed. His face was a bright blue.
"I can't believe I stared at Reaper's ass the whole time." He groaned.
The first time he had seen Reaper had been three years ago. He had been making the ground all nice and white in Canada. That was when he saw the dark haired spirit. He had been guiding the soul of an elderly woman. He had a crush on him since that day. At first he denied it but after staring at his ass he couldn't deny it anymore.
"What's wrong with me? If Reaper finds out…" He left off with a shiver.
Jack rolled over until his face was in his pillow. He smothered himself as he began sobbing. Now that he had his memories back he remembered what happened to gay people back when he was alive. It ashamed him that he was gay.
'Who would want a fag to be their guardian?' He wondered. 'No one.'
The winter spirit eventually fell asleep. Years of dealing with the other spirits made Jake have low self-worth. Gaining his memories didn't help. He hid behind a confidant, cocky attitude.
(With Harry and Pitch)
Harry went to Pitch. He wanted to warn his friend. He knew that the guardians would be in touch. He wanted Pitch to know what had happened.
"This is a surprise Harry." He said.
"Yeah." He explained what happened with the guardians.
"So it was those spirits." He wasn't pleased.
"Yup."
"Did you have to make them see reason?" He asked in disgust.
"Yes." The green eyed reaper said.
"Brat." He glared at him.
"Thank you." He said.
"Ugh." He shook his head. "Tell your friend I will be available next Monday."
"I will. See ya."
"Bye." Harry flew off.
