Hermione put her book down as she checked the time: 11.10 pm. Like every evening she had lost track of time again because she had been completely engrossed in her book, but now she noticed the absence of her husband. It was his turn to put their daughter to bed today and he had gone upstairs two hours ago, she hadn't seen him since.
A bit confused, she walked up the stairs, sneaking up to her daughter's room silently, not wanting to disturb her if she was already asleep. Looking into Willow's room, she knew she would never forget this sight.
Fred was sleeping on his back, snoring lightly. Willow was lying on his chest hugging him tightly, also asleep. He had wrapped one arm around her, the other had fallen of the bed, an open book on the ground.
Hermione just stood there for a while, looking at her beautiful family, feeling the love and happiness warming her chest.
Unfortunately, she had to break up the perfect image and wake Fred up to move him to their bedroom. Avoiding the multiple toys and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes products laying on the ground, she walked up to the bed. It wasn't a surprise that a child with Fred's gene was incredibly messy, even her genes couldn't balance it out. She kissed Fred on the cheek and started whispering, "Fred, I'm sorry, you have to wake up."
The only reaction she got was a soft moan and a slight movement of his head. Trying again, she started shaking him softly this time. "Fred, honey, you'll have to move to our bed eventually."
This time her actions got her a bit further. Fred blinked a few times, his eyes starting to open. He looked up at her with confused eyes, clearly not fully awake yet. "'Mione?" He asked softly, yawning as he spoke.
"'Mione? Why are you waking me up? Are you – everything okay?" Hermione just nodded, looking at her husband with loving eyes. Fred took that look a bit differently, though. His eyes darkened noticeably, and he looked at her with a smug grin, "Ohh do you want to have se...". Hermione stopped him quickly, chuckling as she pointed at Willow still lying on his chest.
Fred looked at their daughter spread over his chest and his eyes turned soft. Sighing softly, he looked back to Hermione. "She's absolutely perfect and the most wonderful astonishing fact is that we made her, you know. Quite neat right?" He joked, and Hermione couldn't help but agree.
They both took a moment to just look at their daughter sleeping peacefully, she was so innocent and beautiful. Bright red curls framing her freckled face, as she smiled softly in her sleep.
"Come on, let's get you moved to our bed." Hermione whispered when she saw Fred's eyes starting to close again. She carefully moved Willow of his chest, earning her a small whimper but fortunately she didn't wake up.
Fred got up from the small bed and grabbed a warm blanket to spread over Willow. When he was satisfied that their little girl was completely tucked in and wouldn't get cold, he kissed her temple. "Sleep tight, my beautiful little princess." He whispered, making Hermione smile.
She grabbed her husband's hand and pulled him from the room into their own bedroom. Getting under the covers quickly, Fred pulled her into a warm hug from behind, his hands stroking her slightly protruding stomach adoringly. "I can't wait till our little boy joins the world." He whispered, lightly grazing the shell of her ear with his lips. Hermione shivered and turned around in his arms. Looking him in the eyes she thought about how this was the man who changed her life, wait scrap that, this man was her life. Sometimes she couldn't believe how lucky she was, to get a husband who loved her so much, not to forget the enormous Weasley family she was now officially a part of, and the brilliant interactions between Fred and George, that made her, and her daughter, smile every day. She couldn't imagine a better life.
"I can almost hear you thinking, love." Fred said suddenly as he put a stray curl behind her ear. She smiled softly at him, "Just thinking about our little perfect family. I love you so much." He grinned wickedly at her. "What did you expect, genes from the Weasley twins would make every family perfect." Laughing loudly at his comment, she swatted him on the arm playfully. "Hush you, don't go ruining the moment now."
"I love you too, Hermione, so much."
"We are quite lucky, aren't we?" He nodded softly, one hand stroking her cheek lovingly. He planted a small kiss on her forehead, "Incredibly lucky." After having said this, he moved in for a passionate kiss.
Suddenly Fred stopped and grinned, "Now that our little princess is not in the room, I can finish what I wanted to say earlier: want to have sex?" She laughed but couldn't help but nod. Fred grinned widely as he maneuvered himself over her, being careful of her baby belly. It didn't take long before they were kissing intensely again.
Their lives were pretty perfect and in five months a little baby boy would join their perfect family. They couldn't wait.
