It's said that the West was built on legends. Tall tales that help us make sense of things too great...or too terrifying to believe. This is the legend of the Ghost Rider. Story goes that every generation has one. Some damned soul, cursed to ride the earth...collecting on the devil's deals. The thing about legends is...sometimes they're true.

It was a mistake. We weren't even supposed to be here , now Jack's hurt because of my dumbass. I should have been hit by that damn duel runner, but Jack pushed me out of the way. I'm screaming for help, but no one is coming. Applying pressure to the worst of the bleeding, I keep calling out for someone to help, to save his life, but it's no use. Then a soul binding chill fills the air and He appears.
"What seems to be the problem, kid," He asked.
"My friend is hurt because of me. He...pushed me out of the way of a speeding duel runner," I shakily replied, not looking at the man.
"That's rather unfortunate, but I'll heal him...for a price."
I looked up, wondering if he's lying. "Name your price and I'll pay it. Just please save Jack," I said.
He looked around briefly, then back at me. "I'll take your soul as payment for this...deed."
I stared at him for a moment, feeling the blood begin to slow down.
"Tick tock, Yusei Fudo. Your friend doesn't have much time left," He stated.
"If I agree to your deal, will you let him live until he's grey and old," I asked.
"Well, aren't you the first to find the loophole? Very well, I will concur with you about that little added detail even if I couldn't do anything in the first place. You and your friend have a destiny to fulfill," He remarked as he pulled out an old, torn parchment scroll.
I opened it and accidently pricked myself. My blood fell and landed on the contract's dotted line.
"Oh, that'll do just fine," He said.
With a wave of his hand, the demon healed my friend completely. Realizing what I had done, I started to shake. The demon merely smiled and tilted my face towards him.
"One day, when I need you... I will come. Until then, I'll be watching."
Releasing my face, he turned to walk away. "Wait," I cried.
"Just who are you?" I asked.
"The name's Mespisto."
With that being said, he vanished into the night. I shuddered as I cradled my unconscious friend.
