Title: Sunset

Rating: K

A/N: Just a small story today, it takes place directly after the last story. Preparing for the big finale tomorrow!

SUNSET

Tifa could not have asked for a more perfect day. The kids were exhausted, Barett was cooking his catch of the day, and Cloud's stomach had finally settled down.

Tifa was sitting on a beach next to her friend, Cid Highwind, who was smoking his ever-present cigarette. Not that Marlene seemed to mind, as she was passed out in his lap. Cid chuckled as he looked down at her.

"Damn ain't I got a soft spot for kids?" He took one last drag of his cigarette and flicked it towards the waves. Marlene's face was nestled right into his chest, and Tifa wished she had remembered to bring a camera.

But Tifa could hardly move as is. Denzel, who was fighting his yawns, had practically fallen asleep sitting up next to her. She had reached over, picked up the boy, and placed him in her lap. She thought he would fight this at first; but instead, Denzel simply leaned back and closed his eyes. His legs were stretched out, running parellel to hers, and his head was resting on her shoulder.

Barett had finished cooking up some fish. Cloud and him brought over plates; Barett taking a seat next to Cid, Cloud next to Tifa. They all settled in to eat and watch the sunset over the water.

The end to a perfect day.
