ADELINE LAHEY
"Handsaw?!" Stiles exclaimed and we all used our force to break the door open.
It was the twin Isaac had beaten up earlier at the rest stop… and he was slowly bringing the chainsaw to his abdomen.
"Hey, no, Ethan, don't!" Stiles shouting, running and throwing the handsaw away from him.
"Quick!" Sammy shouted at Lydia. "The plug!"
Lydia quickly pulled the plug to the handsaw out of the wall just as Ethan pushed Stiles, whose face fell merely an inch away from the handsaw just as it slowed down.
But Ethan didn't stop. He flicked out his claws and tried tearing at his stomach when Allison and Rae tried pulling his hands away, causing him to fall onto a heater.
He yelped in pain, clutching his hand. He looked around at our faces in surprise and stood up. "What just happened?"
Did he really not remember?
Before anyone could say anything, he bolted out of the room.
"Ethan!" Stiles shouted, chasing after him.
When we caught up, Ethan was going down the motel stairs and telling Stiles, "Didn't you hear what I just said? I don't know how I got there or what I was doing."
"Okay, you could be a little bit more helpful, you know? We did just save your life," Sammy said when we caught up.
Ethan whipped around to face us. "And you probably shouldn't have," he stormed away and this time we didn't go after him.
"What do we do now?" I frowned, scared for the boys.
"We should split up. Allison, help me find Scott," Sammy directed, "Addie and Rae, find Isaac. Stiles and Lydia, find Boyd."
"The best thing we can do is get them out of this place," Rae nodded.
Once Allison and Sammy left to find Scott, Lydia began to walk back up the stairs. Stiles was supposed to follow her, but instead, he just stood where he was, staring at her.
Lydia also stopped walking, probably feeling that Stiles was staring at her, and turned to look at him. "What?" she snapped at him, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Stiles snapped out of it and began to stutter, "Oh, no, I w-"
"Stiles," Lydia interrupted, giving him a look.
Rae and I exchanged awkward looks as Stiles let out a sigh. "Alright, Lydia. I didn't want to say anything, but this-everything we're going through-we've kind of been through something like this before, a lot like this."
Lydia crossed her arms and gave him a bewildered look, "What do you mean? When?"
"Your birthday party, the night you poisoned everyone with wolfsbane."
My eyes widened and I once again exchanged looks with Rae.
"Oh, shit."
RAEGAN MCCALL
Lydia storms off without a word with the three of us tailing her.
"Way to go, moron," I elbow Stiles in the ribs, which he dramatically yelps at. Like brother like sister, I suppose.
"Stiles, Sammy told you to leave her alone," Addie chided from the other side of him.
Stiles sighed. "Lydia, I'm sorry, okay? Look, I didn't mean that you're trying to kill people, okay? I just... I just meant that maybe... maybe you're somehow involved in getting people to kill themselves, you know?" Seeing the looks Addie and I give him, he continues, "Which now that I say that out loud, it just sounds really terrible, so I'm just going to stop talking."
However, Lydia suddenly stops in her tracks, causing all of us to almost run into her.
Lydia's frowning. "Guys... Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" I ask, turning my head in search of what she was hearing.
Lydia kneels down in front of a vent she's stopped in front of.
"Lydia, what do you hear?" Stiles asks.
"A baby crying. I hear... I hear water running," Lydia pauses, then cries, "Oh, my God. She's drowning the baby!" She springs to her feet. "Someone's drowning!"
The four of us sprint as fast as we can to the room that Boyd and Isaac are sharing.
Stiles throws open the door and we all run to the bathroom to see Boyd in the filled bathtub with a big, black safe holding him down.
Stiles pulls up his sleeves and goes for the drain. "He blocked it. He blocked the drain with something. I can't get to it."
"What do we do?" Addie panicked, her already big blue eyes now saucer-wide.
"Everyone, let's all try to pull it up," I rolled up my sleeves and we all pulled at the safe to no avail.
"Is he dead?" I frowned, peering at Boyd's unmoving body. "How long can a werewolf stay underwater?"
"You think I know that?" Stiles yelled, frustrated. He took a step back and bumped into a heater, flinching and grabbing his arm. "Ow!"
My eyes widened. "Wait a sec, the heater! Ethan came out of it when he touched the heater!"
"What?" Lydia questioned.
Stiles' eyes also widened in realization. "It's heat, heat, fire. Heat does it! We need something... We need fire."
"He's underwater!" Lydia pointed out.
"Yeah, I'm aware of that!"
"Wait, wait. The bus," Lydia remembered. "On the bus, they'll have emergency road flares. They have their own oxidizers. They can burn underwater."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, go!"
Stiles ran out of the room.
"Hey guys," Addie whispered after a beat. "Do you hear that?"
Usually that was Lydia's line so it was odd hearing it come from Addie.
Then I heard it. There was a faint crying coming from the bedroom. Quietly, I stood up and stepped towards the bed it was coming from. I slowly got to my knees then bent down to look under the bed.
I was met with my best friend's familiar, albeit red-rimmed and watery, blue eyes. Though the look he gave me wasn't familiar; there was pure terror in his eyes as his whole body shook.
"Isaac, it's me," I whispered reassuringly, reaching out to him.
He cried out and flinched away just as Stiles burst through the door and I got to my feet again.
At least now I knew that Isaac was safe, though very much petrified. I prayed that Sammy and Allison had gotten to Scott alright.
"I got 'em", Stiles went to Lydia and began fiddling with the flare. "What do I do? How do I do this?"
"The cap, it's like a match," Lydia explained. "The cap's a match!"
"Yeah, I'm trying." Stiles tried lighting the flare up many times before a success. "Ooh."
Stiles ran to the bathtub and stuck the flare underwater in front of Boyd's face. Boyd immediately pushed the safe off of himself and sat up in the bathtub, roaring.
"Stiles!" I shouted. "Isaac's under the bed."
Stiles picked back up the flare from where it had fallen besides the bathtub and and crouched down to Isaac under the bed.
"Hey, Isaac. Got something here for you."
SAMANTHA STILINSKI
Now the plan was to look for and save Scott. Allison and I decided to see if he was in his room first. We needed to find him fast before he got a chance to hurt himself. The door to his hotel room was cracked open. We pushed the door open to find out that he wasn't there. "Scott?" There was no response.
We searched the entire property and still couldn't find him anywhere
We then ran into Stiles, Rae, Lydia, and Addie, who were coming out of Isaac and Boyd's room. They quickly told us that the two werewolves were alright and explained how heat helped them snap out of it.
"We can't find Scott!" I hastily added when they finished.
"Yeah, we tried looking for him everywhere…" Allison explained.
"It's happening to him too, isn't it?" Stiles questioned.
"Yeah, it has to," I nodded.
"Oh, god!" Rae rubbed at her face. "We have to find him!"
We all froze when we got to the bottom of the stairs. We saw Scott holding a flare and he was soaking wet. It smelled like… gasoline. I felt my eyes tear up. This couldn't be happening. He's not supposed to die now. Not like this. Fuck. Especially not like this.
"Scott…" Rae said with a waver in her voice, calmly approaching him with us all right behind her. "Please don't. You can't leave me alone like this. Scott, you have family and friends that care about you so much. Just please...please don't do this."
"Scott, I can't lose you too. Please!" Addie cried.
"There's no hope!" Scott said.
"What do you mean, Scott?" Allison asked, shaking her head. "There's always hope."
"Not for me… Not for Derek!" Scott said, sounding broken.
"Derek wasn't your fault," Rae pleaded with him. "You know that Derek wasn't your fault!"
"How do you not hate me right now?" He looked up at us. "Every time I try to fight back it just gets worse. Most people end up getting hurt. People end up getting killed."
"That's not true!" I looked up at him. "We all love you and we love how you try your best to help everyone out. Sure there might be bumps along the way, but you have to have faith that things will get better in the end. Just please don't give up!"
"What if everything just gets worse?" Scott asked.
I sighed. I hated seeing him like this.
"Scott, listen to me, okay?" Stiles said. "This isn't you, alright? This is someone inside your head telling you to do this. Okay?"
"What if it isn't? What if it is just me? What if doing this is actually the best thing that I could do for everyone else? It all started that night, the night I got bitten. You remember the way it was before that? You and me, we were... we were... we were nothing. We weren't popular. We weren't good at lacrosse. We weren't important. We were no one. Maybe I should just be no one again. No one at all," Scott said, looking directly at Stiles.
"Scott, just listen to me, okay? You're not no one. Okay? You're someone, you're... Scott, you're my best friend. Okay? And I need you. Scott, you're my brother. All right, so... so if you're gonna do this, then…" Stiles takes a step towards Scott, into the gasoline. "I think you're just gonna have to take me with you. All right?" Stiles puts his hand around the flare and Scott begins crying. Stiles takes the flare from Scott and throws it to the side.
I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding. However, from the corner of my eye, I see the flare rolling toward the pool of gasoline. Rae must've noticed it too because we both charged at them, knocking them out of the pool of gasoline right as it lights up in a big fire. They were safe. Our brothers were safe.

Everyone decided that it was best if everyone slept on the bus instead of the creepy motel. The rest were fast asleep from the emotionally draining day. I, on the other hand, was wide awake. In my defense, sleeping on an old school bus wasn't exactly comfortable and I had so much to think about. I was reflecting on everything that has happened recently, but it kept getting interrupted by Rae's snores. Why did she have to sleep next to me? Getting fed up, I decided that I was in need of fresh air.
After a few minutes of walking, I sat on a nearby bench and looked up at the stars and was deep in thought. I've never realized the extent to which the supernatural stuff going on changed all of us. It's funny because all the supernatural stuff caused so many problems in our lives, but it has still somehow made us stronger.
"What are you doing?" I heard a voice say, interrupting my thoughts. I turned around to see Scott.
"Uh, I couldn't sleep so I decided to get fresh air!" I smiled at him. "Did I wake you up?"
"No." He sat next to me. "I couldn't sleep either."
I gave him a small smile. I wanted to ask if he wanted to talk about what happened but wasn't sure if the timing was right. I didn't want him to feel like he was all alone, but at the same time, I wanted to give the guy a sense of normalcy. He deserved it.
"The stars kind of remind me of the star projector I got you!" Scott said, looking up at the sky. "Stargazing is kind of our thing, isn't it?"
"Yeah, I guess it is!" I blushed. I liked doing this with him. "I just love stars!"
"Why do you like them so much?" he asked.
"When stars first exploded, they released elements like Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Calcium- which are vital for human existence. Like these elements make up our bodies! So essentially, each and every atom we have came from a star!" I beamed. "We're literally made up of stardust! Like the atoms from your left hand might have come from a different star than your right one! I don't know...I just find it so poetic!" I pointed at the sky.
"Wow," Scott looked up at the stars in awe. "That's just amazing!"
"So…" I broke the silence. "Do you want to talk about what happened or…." I trailed off.
Scott sighed.
"You don't have to! Just if you feel comfortable, you know. It's just that I-"
Scott cuts off my rambling. "I just felt so hopeless. No matter what I do, I just feel like I somehow manage to screw things up. Like it sometimes makes me wonder if I'm good enough to handle all these things or if I'm a good werewolf…"
"You are a good werewolf!" I said, moving closer to him.
"Sammy-" Scott sighed. "You don't have to lie to make me feel better."
"I'm not lying!" I exclaimed. "You use your powers to help others in need! That's the only thing that matters. You do what's right even though it might be really dangerous and risky. If I'm being completely honest, I wish I had your courage. I find it really admirable!"
"Thanks, Sammy!" Scott smiled at me. "You have no idea how much you mean to me! I really enjoy our deep talks that somehow always end up including stars!"
"Well that's all thanks to you for buying me that star projector for my twelfth birthday!" I smiled at him.
"Yeah, I got it because I hoped that it would help us have deep talks a few years down the road!" He grinned.
"I guess you were right!"
I don't know why, but I felt butterflies in my stomach. Maybe Rae was right. Maybe I did have feelings for him. I really enjoyed the time we spent together and he made me really happy.
"Sammy, I-" He moved closer to me and started to lean in.
I like him, but I don't know if it was a good idea to be together. For all I knew, he still had feelings for Allison, and I might just be a rebound to him. I didn't want to be a second choice. Not again. He's also one of my best friend's ex...it would just be too complicated. Besides, I liked being independent and not relying on boys for validation. I didn't want to feel pathetic again.
"We should go!" I quickly stood up, ruining the moment. "The others are probably worried…"
"Yeah…" Scott scratched the back of his head. He looked a bit taken aback. I felt bad, but it was for the best. "We should head back."
Ugh! I probably just made things really awkward between us.
ADELINE LAHEY
"I don't want to know." The voice of Coach Finstock startled me awake, and I stared at him with wide eyes. "I really don't want to know. But in case you missed the announcement, the meeting's cancelled, so we're heading home. Pack it in. Pack it in!"
As Coach turned to talk to the bus driver, and the other students boarded the bus, Ethan made his way over to us and sat down next to Scott.
"I don't know what happened last night," Ethan said in a low voice, "But I'm pretty sure you saved my life."
"Actually I saved your life," Stiles butt in, "But not that it matters that much. It's just-it's a minor detail."
"So I'm gonna give you something," Ethan continued, not even bothering to respond to Stiles, "We're pretty sure Derek's still alive. But he killed one of ours. That means one of two things can happen. Either he joins our pack…"
"And kills his own," Scott realized.
"Or Kali goes after him, and we kill him," Ethan finished, "That's the way it works."
"You know, your little code of ethics there is sort of barbaric. Just FYI," Stiles commented, nudging my side, "Right, Addie?"
I nodded in agreement as we all watched Ethan get up and move seats. As soon as he moved, Stiles got up from next to me and sat down next to Scott.
With everyone in their seats, Coach started moving down the aisle. As he passed us, Lydia got up and reached for his whistle. "Coach, can I see your whistle for a second?" she asked, already pulling the whistle from his neck.
"I'm gonna need that back," Coach said before going back to talk to Ethan.
We all stared at Lydia as she covered the end of the whistle before blowing into it. She stared at her hand before showing it to us. It looked like black powder. "Wolfsbane."
At the sight of the wolfsbane, it all started clicking together for me. "So everytime Coach blew the whistle on the bus, Scott, Isaac, Boyd, and Ethan all inhaled it…"
"You were all poisoned by it," Allison said.
"So that's how the Darach got in their heads," Sammy realized.
"That's how he did it," Rae repeated.
Out of nowhere, Stiles snatched the whistle from Lydia's hand and threw it out the window.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey! Stilinski!" Coach shouted in protest, but it was too late. The whistle was on the ground and the bus had already begun to drive back home.
I stared at the whistle on ground, watching it get smaller and smaller until it was no more. I continued to stare out the window until I felt my phone vibrate. Curious as to who was texting me, I took out my phone to see that it was Liam.
good morning! the school day hasn't even started yet and i already miss you :(
I couldn't help but smile while reading his text, my heart beating rapidly.
good morning! and you're exaggerating i'm not that fun.
you are! i literally only go to school to see you!
I bit my lip but I could still feel a smile on my lips. This boy needs to stop because my heart can't take anymore.
oh yeah? what about mason and corey?
i mean they're cool and all but they aren't exactly an addie
and what's that supposed to mean?
That means that they aren't as-
"-as funny and smart and cute and pretty and amazing as you are." I whipped around to see Greenberg leaning over the back of my seat to read over my shoulder. "Awww, guys, our baby Addie's got a boyfriend!"
"No, I don't!" I protested. I could feel my cheeks heating up, "Shut up, Greenberg!"
"What did I just hear?" Coach shouted from the front of the bus.
"Addie's got a boyfriend!" Rae shouted to him, giving me a smirk. Sammy nudged her but was grinning nonetheless.
"A boyfriend?!" Isaac looked furious, sitting next to Rae.
"A boyfriend?" Coach repeated. "Now we can't allow that to happen, can we boys?!" Coach shouted.
"No, Coach!"
"Let's find this boy and help him understand that he is NOT to hurt our Little Lahey!"
"Yes, Coach!"
"Wait, guys, stop!" I cried out, getting more and more embarrassed as everyone on the bus started laughing and cheering. In front of me, Scott and Stiles were cheering along with the boys, and to my left, Rae was laughing out loud while Lydia, Allison, and Sammy all gave me smiles of sympathy, but I knew that they were also enjoying this. Isaac still looked pissed. I turned to the only one I knew I could trust in this situation.
"Danny, help me!"
Wow, wow, wow. Look at that. Another update! Who woulda thunk. Only took us what? Two weeks? But I mean it's better than a year hehehe.
