Percy woke in the worst imaginable fashion ever.

He sprang up from his lying position, got tangled in his sheets that was placed on top of him and tumbled to the ground. Groaning, he opened his again to see the man who he rescued the night before sitting cross-legged in front of him, albeit cleaner and draped in rich blue traditional Japanese attire. Seeing the mystery man gave a jolt to Percy's memory, and he leapt forward toward him with a snarl, remembering the events that took place, only to be pushed back by two men who was standing behind the mystery man, who is still sitting there calmly. Just as Percy was about to spring forwards once again, the man spoke in a deep voice,

"There is no need for hostilities. I understand your anger and puzzlement due to what happened last night, and I sincerely apologise," with this he gave a slight bow to Percy, "but it was a security measure. From your looks I presume that you are foreign?"

Percy gave a stiff nod at his question, still fuming from him being kidnapped.

"Can you tell me your name?"

Considering the pros and cons, he decided to answer the man's question.

"Percy Jackson. Why does it matter to you?"

The man held up a hand to stop Percy talking, and pulled out a device that he typed something into it. After a short while he raised his eyebrows and put the device away.

"So, Mr Jackson, since you have been living in Japan for the last 20 years or so, can you identify what symbol this is?" The man gestured to his exposed left side of his upper body, where a black and blue dragon tattoo covered his shoulder.

"The Shimada clan. You still haven't answered my question yet. Why am I here?" At this the man threw his head back and laughed heartily. And then he extended his hand to Percy.

"Good morning Mr Jackson, I am Hanzo Shimada, head of the Shimada clan."

Percy regarded Hanzo's outstretched hand coldly. "I don't care whoever you are, I just want the reason behind me being kidnapped after saving your neck yesterday night, Mr Crime Lord."

Hanzo grimaced and looked around the room. "Perhaps I should explain. But not here. Care to accompany me outside?"

With that he left the room, his eyes relaying a silent message to Percy to not speak. Percy, noticing the look Hanzo was giving him, decided to comply and follow him. Hanzo walked through corridor after corridor, to Percy it seemed like a maze of plush carpets, flashy memoirs and different rooms. Finally, Hanzo reached his destination- a balcony. Hanzo pushed the ornate glass doors open, and dismissed the guards. Percy followed him out, and as soon as the doors closed he turned to Hanzo. "Explain. Now." Hanzo sat down at a table, and gestured for Percy to sit down.

"Firstly-are you armed?" Taken aback, Percy answered. "No, why?"

"You should be." Hanzo pulled a pistol from under the desk and slid it across. "Keep it. You may call me paranoid, but being the son of a crime lord unfortunately teaches you how to be careful around here."

Percy grasped the weapon, and eyed Hanzo with some curiosity. "What, aren't you the head of operations and stuff of the Shimada clan?"

Hanzo sighed. "No. A common mistake by outsiders, my father is the head of the organisation. And while he is my father, I do not agree with the things that he do. Crime…" He shook his head. "Don't mistake me for a pacifist or something, I have killed my fair share of people, but I do not agree with intentional murder, drug trafficking or other crimes. Especially when it brings me troubles like last night."

Hanzo glanced at the doors, and kept talking after he saw no one there. "Most men here are his, and god knows that I don't agree with his methods." Percy's eye twitched at the mention of gods. "One day he will make his move, and I will be removed from the surface of the earth."

To this Percy was thoroughly shocked. "He will kill his own flesh and blood? What?" "My father is a ruthless man, Mr. Jackson. To the outside world he might seem like a normal person who rose to power, but I can assure you the

human side in him died a long time ago."

"Call me Percy." Percy shook Hanzo's hand. "I am sorry for what I said a few moments ago. I didn't know about this. Can I help you in any way?" Hanzo looked thoughtful for a moment before replying,

"Yes. I would like you to be my bodyguard."

Percy, taken aback the second time that morning, said, "What?" "Yes." A hopeful gleam appeared in Hanzo's brown eyes.

"You are one of the best fighters, maybe even the best I've ever seen. You are not power hungry, and you know one of honour." "What? You speak like you know everything about me, but I have never spoke of my history or myself in our conversation."

Hanzo chuckled. "Forgive me, but first when you know of me being Hanzo Shimada, you did not grovel at my feet and ask for money, power or women. Also, I have given you a gun. You have never threatened my life to ask for the same things I said: money, power, and women. That is the most respect I could ask for: someone talking to me as equal human beings, not worshipping me as a god. I hate that."

"Don't you feel… good? Proud? I mean, you literally have billions at your fingertips, and are superior to most but a few in wealth and power. To many, you are literally a god."

"No. I would literally give up all of my wealth and power to live a normal life, a life without me looking over my shoulders every step." Hanzo shook his head and looked downright miserable. "It wears you down, this kind of life. But enough talking about me. I would like to hear your story."

Before Percy could speak, a man dressed in a suit walked into the balcony. "Mr. Shimada, your father requires your presence."

Hanzo sighed. "Wait for me here Percy. We will talk later."

"You too, Mr. Jackson."

The man gave a slight bow, and held the door open for the two men.

Percy's eyebrows rose at this, and he can feel Hanzo tense up.

"Hanzo, what is this?"

Percy frowned at the grim look on Hanzo's face.

"Nothing good."
