A/N.. Literally been forever. I'm not going to makes excuses but yeah.
Ok please take notice. I cant edit my previous chapters so just so you know the session order is Dr. Crane, Two-Face, Ivy...Tanya, Tommy, And Joker. Guy is no more.
Disclaimer: wished I owned this but I dont.
I walked away from the session room in a daze. My mind racing. I had his attention, hopefully in a good way, and I wasn't going to waste it. I dazedly walked down to Ivy's cell in max, the guards barely looked up from their poker game. I stopped by her cell she stood immediately, her entire body tense, her eyes flashing fire and I smiled.
She relaxed slightly, "Harleen?" I chuckled "I am fine, just running on the adrenaline. It went good I think. Well I'm alive I'm pretty sure that counts as good. Right?" I couldn't help but tease her. She rolled her eyes. "Yes I'm happy you are still alive and down here smartass, running your sassy mouth at me." "Well I tell you more in your session tomorrow. I got so much to plan." She nodded. I walked past the guards and to my offices.I couldn't help it as I did a slight happy dance. But now I had to keep it up.
I sat down and mulled over my next session plans. I flipped through my notes. he hadn't actually given me any real information but I had noted he particularly liked the electronica. He had enjoyed the chaos.I downloaded some different artists ranging from deadmau5 to skrillex. I also jotted down random questions. 'What kind of movies do you like? What's your favorite color? What's your favorite joke?'
I finally leaned up from my desk, cracking my back as I did. I grabbed more of his files before quickly heading home. I absently munched on my leftover chinese food as I leafed through this particular pile of files. All these were GCPD files on his gangster activities, his possible clubs, businesses, possible hide outs. I noted he had several clubs, a few strip clubs, several bars, so much more everything was spread out across the city.
I shook my head he was making a statement. "This City is Mine!" No rival gangs, no boundaries would stop him it was all his. All protection payments were for Joker and were considered iffy. Dont cross Joker, he didnt care who was paying what, cross him consider something broken. I finished my food and quietly slipped into my nighttime routine.
I jostled awake to my alarm going off. I rolled out of bed and bounced around the apartment stopping only to stretch my muscles before grabbing an apple and getting dressed in a pair of sleek black slacks and a flattering wrap around top and my boots, setting my heels in my bag. I quickly downed my shot of Expresso and bounced out to my bike. I slipped through traffic with ease, I made one stop running in quickly to the greenhouse before flying to the asylum.
I quickly got through the gate, gathered my things and slipped into my office after the handsy pat down from security. I started the old computer and flicked through the emails.
Typical stuff, they were trying to tighten security since the Joker was currently here. I skipped around my office trying to find a place with decent light for the little office plant I picked up earlier. I know Ivy will be able to make it flourish.
Dr. Crane was unusually quiet today and he seemed to be trying to ask me a question without asking it. He frowned at me for most of the session. I kept trying to ask him if he was ok which he always replied with "I don't fear for myself." I sighed as we neared the end of the session I dug through my drawer and handed him a old psych book I had found it was written in the 60s and Crane always complained he was bored. He smiled ever so slightly as he took it with him to his group therapy. He nodded and quietly muttered on his way put "I hope to see you next session." I frowned at his back as the guards closed the door to my office.
Dent was quiet, answering my questions only when repeated several times after 30 minutes I gave up on us talking today and suggested he go to lunch early. He had nodded and left easily with the guards.
Lunch
I was once again people watching picking at my wilting salad when the atmosphere changed, tension tightened in the room. Joker was here. One of the guards grabbed a tray and quickly threw some food on it while the others sat him down in a empty table in the middle of the cafeteria. The doctors and the more aware inmates were frozen, their bodies almost paused as if awaiting orders of the Clown Prince of Gotham.
He was hooked in heavy chains from neck to wrist to ankles yet his movements were so graceful. His smile was pure menace as he observed his domain, which anyone could indeed tell you it was his domain. He broke the silence of the eerily quiet cafeteria "Why thank you Gerald I so like pudding cups and fruit. Soooooo Thoughtful! I mean the service was quick but look at this ambience and these colors, blehh." He did a quick perusal of his kingdom, his eyes ever so slightly hesitating in my direction before he laughed. "Well I suppose it'll do, can't expect much from tasteless people." He ate the pudding cups slowly as if the were a fine meal from a 5 star restaurant. He gracefully stood on his own, stretching as far as the chains would allow, the chains clanking loudly. The entire room was waiting on his next move.
He was the ultimate being to watch. He cackled and practically skipped from the room while the guards hastened to catch up.The switch was instantly flipped and time resumed. Both the insane and sane alike breathed.
Pam flitted around the room glancing at the tiny window in the office and moved the tiny plant continually. "So your are indeed alive." I sighed, I had known she was going to grill me today, didnt make it any more pleasant though. "Are you going to keep treating him?" I nodded and she huffed. "Why?" "Because he is Joker. I mean he is the Bigest challenge, you know. He is the Ultimate showman. I wanna know how his mind works, i wanna know his secrets, I wanna know everything." "Harleen you sound obsessed." I smiled at her. "No, maybe I just wanna say thank you. He did save me you know." She shook her head. She spent the rest of the session begging, threatening, yelling at me to switch back to Nygma.
I finished up my notes for the day and quickly headed to the gym. I worked my muscles harder today than I had in a while as I let my mind roam. I blocked out the stress of the Joker and Ivy and just worked my body hard. I showered at the gym before headed to my favorite like pizza place at the edge of the slums.
Best Pizza in town Joe's Pizza was. I ordered me a cheese and mushroom pizza and some of his fabulous breadsticks, he covered them in some kind if dill sauce. Honestly food to die for.
I savored my food as I flipped through the channels on TV before finally allowing it to rest on the movie "The Mummy" the Rachel weisz and Brendan Fraser version. An old favorite of mine. I already had my plans for Jokers sessions for the most part and I didnt really need to plan out Tanya or Tommy's session. I nodded off watching the movie waking only when the credits were rolling. I grumpily stomped to the bedroom and kicked off my shoes and yanked off the rest of my clothes before free falling on the bed and climbing to the center.
I woke before my alarm by an hour and allowed myself a comfortable bath before flipping through my closet it was, for once, a sunny day and I wanted to celebrate the sunshine by wearing a skirt I sighed and grabbed some tights to wear under it. I could take them off during sessions before slipping it back on for my ride home. I wore a bright white button up blouse and slipped into my boots. I smiled as i left early and decided to actually get breakfast.
I sipped on my coffee and enjoyed my blueberry muffin. I had already read the same inane emails and I had finished my breakfast before Tanya was brought in for her session.
"I see you are done detoxing." She rolled her eyes at me. I gritted my teeth, I refused to allow her to ruin my morning. "I want to talk to you today Tanya? I want to know what you hoped to accomplish by drinking all that mouth wash?" She stared at me. " I wanted to." I nodded to show I acknowledged her answer "Yes, but why? Are you suicidal? Was it the addiction? Was it the voices?" She stared at me. I could practically see the inner debate she was having with her other voices. Finally after a while she merely shrugged. " I can't help if you wont let me." I told her exhaustedly. I had been working with Tanya since I had started and she kept the same pattern she would get better before doing something to mess it up again. " I'm going to change your meds around some more ok?" She again shrugged before heading to the door for her rec time.
Tommy was sweet. He had the childlike wonder and I couldn't help but truly believe he shouldn't be here. He enjoyed telling me about Teddy his teddybear and he new favorite thing in art class. Sculpting, I had asked him if he was willing to sculpt something for me. He nodded enthusiastically, before chattering on. I smiled and waved him out as the session came to the end.
I was running late for my second sessions. It was my own fault. I had left lunch early enough but I had decided to get some grape soda. That would've been with fine if I hadn't overheard the guards talking in the small break room. " ...Dr. Quinzel." "I had heard that two." "Damn, that damn clown doesnt deserve to be close to something that fuckable. I'd be a walking with a limp being a room all alone with." He smirked "Or you know I wouldn't." the other guard, who I recognized as one of Jokers guards that brought him to session last time, smiled as well. " Yeah I wonder just how good she is at riding the poles. God knows what be damn good. She's got Arkham wrapped around pinkie." They both chuckled as they walked out of the break room not even glancing her way.
I stomped towards the session room. This is not how I wanted my second session to go. I stomped in the room and my temper flared again both of the guards who had been being taking about me were his guards today. "Out!" I said as I walked in. They both looked at each other before slowly walking out to close the doors.
