Josie McCoy and her bandmates Valerie Brown and Melody Valentine, along with Alan, their Roadie, Alexandra Cabot, and her brother Alexander are all enjoying themselves on Miami Beach after their concert in Tampa, Josie went and grabbed her surfboard she had rented and heads down to the water's edge.
Alexandra absent-mindedly glanced up from her trashy romance novel she'd been half-heartedly reading to watch the redhead's retreating form, a blush suddenly appearing on her face.
Josie straddles her board some ways away from the beach, she is unaware of the fourteen foot Great White shark that is preparing to attack her. Beneath the waves the monstrous fish rockets upward towards Josie and sinks its teeth deep into the right side of Josie's hip.
Josie screams as blood filled the water and she began trying to swim away from the shark, back on the beach several people including Alexandra saw the attack, the brunette ran to the nearest lifeguard tower and grabbed the first-aid kit and a surf board. She then runs back out onto the beach, after dropping the first aid kit Alexandra ran to the water and surfed out to Josie and picked her up and placed the bleeding woman on her back and began paddling back to shore, which seemed like it took forever to do.
Alexandra hoped that the shark wasn't still following her, her muscles began crying out in agony the longer it took to get the injured woman back to shore, but Alexandra did manage to get Josie back to the beach safely. As soon as
Alexandra was out of the water with Josie two lifeguards and two paramedics were waiting to take Josie to the hospital.
Alexandra hurried up to her suite and put on her denim skirt, a red shirt, and black Nike cross-trainers before taking a cab to the nearest hospital. Upon arriving Alexandra found the hospital teeming with activity, there was no way she'd be able to find Josie.
Just then...
"Hey you, you saved that woman on the beach just now." an auburn haired man in brown swim trunks and a tank top said as he jogged over to Alexandra.
"Is she...?" Alexandra asked, her words soaked in fear.
"She's in surgery now, it's looking good." the man says.
"Thank heavens." Alexandra says with a heavy sigh.
Once the man walks away from Alexandra, Valerie and the others came up to Alexandra. No one said a word to Alexandra.
Doctor Susan Chen came out of the Operating Room, removing her surgical gloves and mask as she walked.
"Family for Josie McCoy?"
Alexandra shot to her feet first, followed by Alan, Valerie, Melody, and Alexander, Doctor Chen made her way over to the group.
"How is Josie, Doctor?" Alexandra asked, her eyes blazing with concern and her voice trembling ever so slightly.
"Miss McCoy is very fortunate, the bite was rather shallow, though there was no lasting nerve damage, there was some and she will need Occupational rehabilitation for about three months."
"So we're gonna have to push some of our upcoming gigs and tour dates back?" Alexander asks fearfully.
He receives a death glare from his Sister and Valerie.
"C-can we see her yet, Doctor?" Valerie asks.
Doctor Chen nods.
Alexandra hangs back while Alan, Melody, Valerie, and her chicken brother visited Josie. Then Valerie walked out of the room.
"Josie is asking for you, Alexandra."
The normally confident woman suddenly felt apprehensive, Alexandra had always hated Josie because of her relationship with Alan, so why then did Alexandra risk her life for someone she hated?
