The Titans 2.0
"So, about joining the team?" Cyborg whispered the next morning as he ran his usual tests. Raven was sleeping in the chair beside his bed. Protective ward still shielding the entirety of Hunter's body.
"Well..." Hunter whispered as he contemplated. Cyborg tried to get through the shield to no avail. "Here, let me." Hunter chuckled as he snapped his finger and the shield dissolved. Cyborg stalled with surprise as he looked at the shield melt.
"You. You just dissolved her shield like it was nothing." Cyborg whisper-yelled.
"Yea. Don't tell her though." Hunter replied, still smiling.
"How strong are you bro?" Cyborg said as he shook his head and continued with his tests.
"Ya know, I have no idea actually." Hunter said as he thought about it.
"Anyway, back to my question."
"I don't know man. I really wanna join the team but I just don't want to have to follow orders after not having done it for so long. Since I left you guys, I've been going it alone. I have no idea if I can even be a good teammate anymore. I just don't want to let you guys down." Hunter rambled.
"Listen B. You may have grown, but you haven't changed. You're still the Beast Boy we all know and love and we'd love to have you on the team, man. You know that." Cyborg replied as he stopped taking readings and looked right at Hunter.
"He's right." Robin added as he leaned against the doorframe of the medical ward.
"I...Well...Would you be okay with me going off on my own sometimes Robin?" Hunter asked.
"After the amount of times you've saved our asses, sure. Just don't make me regret it." Robin replied as he shrugged.
Starfire walked in as Raven began to stir.
"Please." Raven pleaded uncharacteristically as she woke up. Hunter was taken aback by her response. He looked at each of the Titans for a second before nodding and smiling.
"With friends like these, how can I say no." He finally spoke as the room erupted with cheers and applause. Starfire flew at him at an insane speed as everyone else stared in horror. At the last minute, Hunter got up and opened his arms wide to receive a soul crushing hug.
"FRIEND BEAST BOY HAS RETURNED!" She yelled nearly shattering Hunter's eardrums. The rest of the Titans started laughing as Hunter grimaced and smiled.
"Good to have ya back, man." Cyborg said as he clapped Hunter on the shoulder. "I needed someone's butt to kick in Super Smash Monkeys 9." Hunter punched him in the stomach playfully as he shook his head.
"Welcome back Hunter." Robin said as he cracked a smile. Hunter nodded as he reciprocated the gesture.
"Whatever." Raven said as she tried to hide a smile. Hunter then got up and walked up to her.
"You know you missed me." He replied as he pushed her shoulder playfully. She smirked in mock anger.
"Ya know. That's all well and good. But I wanna see what you actually look like Grasstain, take off the illusion." Cyborg called as Hunter walked towards the door.
"Ohh yea. I almost forgot." He replied as he tapped his necklace to dispel the illusion. His hair went from short and black. To medium cut and green. His eyes then changed from blue to black as his skin turned from white to green. His ears then became longer and more pointy. Lastly, his build changed to slightly more built. His build was now closer to Cyborg than Robin. His height remained the same being taller than Robin, Starfire, and Raven but slightly shorter than Cyborg. The whole room looked at him with surprise.
"Damn bro. You look a million times better now. Why have the illusion at all?" Cyborg asked.
"Agreed." Robin said, slightly jealous.
"Yep." Raven said as she blushed slightly.
"Well, when I first did the illusion, I basically looked the same but green. I just kinda never really changed it I guess. Also, I didn't originally want you guys to know who I was because I wasn't sure you'd accept me." Hunter replied as he looked at the floor for a second.
"You know it aint like that bro. We got your back, always." Cyborg replied. The others nodded in agreement as Hunter smiled with relief.
"With a team like this, who needs family." He smiled.
