Hunter awoke in his normal form. He looked around, his heightened senses causing his head to throb as they overloaded him with information about his surroundings. His eyes stung from the bright sunlight. He squinted hard but was saved when a small hand blocked the sun from his eyes. He look at the hand, recognizing it. With a start, he felt everything at once. Raven was cradling him to her chest and slowly rocking back and forth. One hand positioned beneath his upper back to keep him up and another now positioned, blocking the sun from his eyes. He slowly looked up at her and saw only concern. Her eyes bored through him as she tried to discern if he was himself. Hunter wanted to stay like this forever, allowing her to hold him and not worry about what had happened. He felt the warm comfort of her embrace and could hear her heart beating steadily from her chest. He looked up one last time and smiled at her. Feeling her relief he tried to get up. He had to help his team.
He groaned as his entire body was wracked with pain. Raven held him tighter, forcing him to stay. Hunter didn't resist, he knew couldn't. Feeling all the numbness hit him all once, he opened his mouth to speak. But what came out was little more than a whimper.
"They're fine." Raven said, knowingly. She looked down at him, he looked so vulnerable. She knew she wanted nothing more than to hold him in her arms forever. She wanted to protect him. "Are you okay?" She asked, softly.
"Y-yea. I just...I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Hunter said, grief contorting his figures. Raven winced at how strong emotions of regret and self-hated radiated off of him. "I didn't mean to...hurt you. I...the team." He added, words failing him.
"Hey. It's not your fault." Raven said, calmly. She moved to caress his cheek, soothingly. "It was The Beast. Everyone knows that."
"I don't deserve this." Hunter said, referencing her care. "I don't deserve you or the team. I...I hurt you." Hunter babbled, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. Raven was taken aback. How could he think he didn't deserve her?
"No, Logan. I love you. I will always love you." She said, softly. She held him tightly as she felt his shoulders shake in a quiet sob.
He felt relieved. She still loved him, she had forgiven him. He knew that if she could forgive him, the team could. He also knew that id the team could forgive him, he could forgive himself. But he still couldn't come to terms with hurting her.
"I still hurt you." he said, softly. "How could I have hurt you?"
"It wasn't you, Hunter." Raven replied, gently lifting him to a sitting position. She looked him in the eyes. "You can't take responsibility for what The Beast has done." She added, taking his hands in her own and squeezing them.
"I...I-" Hunter was stopped by a kiss on the lips. Raven pushed herself closer to Hunter and hugged him as she kissed him. Hunter was shocked for a moment before returning the kiss and wrapping his arms around Raven, as well.
After a long moment, their lips parted and Raven moved her head down and rested it on Hunter's collarbone.
"I love you, idiot. You better believe you can't get away from me that easily." She said, a small smile appearing at the corner of her mouth. Hunter smiled back, slightly.
"Not the worst problem to have." Hunter replied, insecurities subsiding. He realized he could never leave her, no matter what. Slowly, they broke apart from each other and looked at each other, lovingly.
"How about we go back to the tower and check on the others." Raven suggested, blushing hard.
"That sounds like a great idea." Hunter said, smile returning to his face. The two lifted off and headed towards their home, both smiling all the while.
When they entered the tower they were greeted by all of the other Titans nursing their wounds in the main room as the med-bay didn't have enough space. They all turned to look at Hunter and Raven, happiness in their eyes. Seeing their wounds, Hunter frowned and snapped his fingers. All of the Titans were healed instantly and Hunter reeled from the strain. Leaning on Raven for support, she looked at him, realizing what he had done and simply smiled. Everyone else looked at them questioningly and examined their healed injuries.
"What happened." Robin spoke, confused at his sudden lack of injuries.
"Well, for one, The Beast returned." Raven spoke, smiling up at Hunter who smiled back.
