Jasper Grizzly Buchanan was quarter Iroquois, but had amber eyes. He was also a maple maker like his dad. He extracted lots of maple from the trees and was the first Buchanan child to get married.
Jasper also ate free range chickens, which were his favourite kind of meat. He farmed them at his farm, and his farm had a fence to keep them out from hungry coyotes. No wonder why he loved his chickens!
He married only once to the wealthier Mary Buckley and that led to their unexpected divorce, a few years after Buckley 'Buck' Buchanan was born in 1865 at the end of the American Civil War. She raised him as her son for the rest of his childhood. Jasper pretty much resented visiting his son until the latter reached his teens.
Nonetheless, he died a rather happy, surprisingly moneyed man in 1912.
