AN: Hey, kids. I've got some Sonadow angst for you.
I wrote this back in May as part of an exercise. I was slightly drunk at the time, so I apologize if this is incoherent.
Captain Obvious says: If you can't figure out the title, Google is your friend.
"LD100"
The light was in his eyes.
"Don't leave me."
He laid back down.
"I can't afford to keep doing this much longer. You know..."
"I know."
He couldn't keep his hands still. "Anyway, we were foolish to let it get this far to begin with. Granted, this wasn't what I intended, but..."
But what? He couldn't find anything more to say. What about Sonic? He had to have something to add. He always did.
"Yeah." His hands were on his back, moving slowly in circles. Almost—not quite what he'd been hoping for. "Hey, I'm not complaining. I really like it; well, most of the time." Sonic chuckled, forcing his ears to flatten to his head. Every time he heard him laugh, he lost another deeply hidden part of himself. If only Sonic knew...
Would he still be beside him then; if he knew?
"You're not exactly the greatest person to be around sometimes, either."
"See, that's where you're wrong. I'm always awesome. You're just—well—moody." His cold hands were on his waist now, soothingly rubbing up and down. "But, ya know, I don't even mind all that much; cuz it's you."
"You like me that much? I'm surprised."
"I've always liked you, Shadow; well, most of the time."
His hands began moving in circles again.
When he opened his eyes, the light was still there, stronger than ever.
"I need to go."
"No, c'mon." He felt the heat of his breath between his shoulders. Not like this. There was no way he'd be able to hold himself up like this.
"I have to be to work at seven. It's almost six."
"So? You're fast, ain't 'cha?" His voice was playful, teasing—reminding him of everything he hated and loved about him.
If he would only shut up...
"I don't have time to play games, Sonic."
"You never do."
He got to his feet and found the light steadily fading away, leaving him cold.
"Never."
