Start Chapter 16

Harri wasn't sure if he was more curious or terrified or shocked. How did he know? No, no, no this was bad very very bad! Harri had always liked and got along with Shino even if he hadn't interacted with him much outside of the classroom before they all graduated but he wouldn't classify him as much more than an acquaintance… maybe a very distant friend even. It was hard enough to let Shikaku tell his own old friend Inoichi and his past and current teacher about him being a boy. Harri had only just started thinking about telling his own best friend and the older boy's father about him being a demon at all let alone a god of sorts. No one but Sasuke knew about him not being human and he wasn't even sure if the other boy even fully believed it and if he did Harri was pretty sure he thought he was just a demon and not an actual god. No one should know, no one! Not even…. Not even Shika knew so how did this boy figure it out?

Shino tilted his head ever so slightly in thought. "Both of my hypotheses were confirmed after using my insects to assist your body when poisoned by that snake-like individual's chakra." He paused. "Your body outright rejected the chakra, much like a splinter or foreign body…. During the extraction, my insects informed me that your chakra was not at all like that of any creature they have ever encountered." He paused for another long moment a contemplative expression crossing his face.

"That although your body contains blood and organs and you can become injured like a normal individual, your body contains no definable chakra coils and instead your flesh and blood body is somehow something like a living manifestation of chakra though….. is not… somehow.. they also told me it was almost…. Infantile… not matured to the point of your appearance or cognitive capabilities… yet somehow much older than I." The boy explained, looking mildly frustrated.

"I had difficulty understanding everything as we have not encountered anything like that before and much like myself, my insects were quite baffled. It was clear though that you were not normal in any sense even if you did have some strange kekkai Genkai. Such an abnormality just would not be possible. You…. Are an anomaly, an impossibility." The tall teen said, he pushed up his glasses and continued, "Just being near to help extract the tainted chakra that had affected you has killed many of my beetles, it was like a poison to them. They did not even need to consume it to parish, another first. So all of this information has made me curious…. It made me ask myself, what is Harri Uchiha exactly?" Shino finish with pursed lips.

Harri was frozen, gripping the bottom of his shirt, pure panic and terror spilled through him so powerfully he began seeing spots. He-he couldn't breath-he couldn't breath!

"Calm down, I am not going to get you in trouble unless I think you are a threat to the village and currently even after this assessment, I do not believe you are," Shino assured, frowning at the evident fear on Harri's pale face. He stepped forward and steadied the tiny boy. "I have also noticed you are always stressed out and such a thing cannot be good for your health." He said looking to Harri's suddenly red and irritated looking eyes.

Harri shuddered, looking up at the other boy with fearful eyes fighting with all of his might to keep from crying. "No one knows. No one knows. No-no one! I-I can't I promised, I-No one is supposed to know! Not even-even Shika! You shouldn't know, no one should! Please, they-they can't know!" Harri nearly whispered eyes darting all over the place in paranoia even as he was blubbering at that point point.

Shino sighed and gave a short nod. "Alright, I will only tell if it is the absolute last resort in regards to the safety of the village. Why? Because even though we are not as close as I would have liked I know you well enough to know that no matter what you are that you are a good person and I know that you would not keep such secrets from those you care about, especially Shikamaru, unless you had to as such things bring you great stress."

Harry gave a sharp nod. He knew how Shino was, he wouldn't leave this be until he… he told him… He… didn't want to lie… he hated lying and he knew the other's insects could likely smell if he lied but Harri couldn't tell him that he was a god… or at least as close to one as someone could supposedly get…. So he would have to tell him something as close as possible to the truth… Even, that, had him feeling tongue tied though.

Harri had never told anyone, ever, even a hint of what he actually was. Harri was sure those close to him at the very least suspected that he was at least part demon, but that wasn't him saying anything…. Harri had always used the sprays and elixirs his father had found recipes to in one of the journals he had saved from the Black family's compound. He had also always followed the advice within the same journals to obscure his scent just enough to make it hard to figure out what he was, just in case.

"I'm…. I'm… a.. a.. dem-"

"A demon?" A terrifyingly familar voice said flatly.

Harri made a horriffied choking sound and twisted around seeing the painfully blank look on his teacher's face.

"Abarume, please leave and don't speak a word of this discussion to anyone, not even your teammates. I need to talk to my student… alone." The man said, tone clipped.

Shino put a hand on Harri's shoulder startling the nearly hyperventilating boy and eyed the man. He stood for a long moment like that, then gave a reluctant nod when the jonin didn't back down. "I Apologize and I would appreciate it if we were to discuss this farther, latter, if allowed." The older boy said meaningfully before walking out the door.

Harri yelped as he was suddenly tossed onto the bed in the room and told in a stern frightening snarl to 'stay there'.

"All of the strange behaviors, the illnesses you being a hermaphrodite it all makes sense now! A demon, I should have known, but how could I when your scent is always so distorted? You did something, didn't you?" The man said in an accusing sort of tone of voice. Eyes narrowed and furious.

I am your teacher and team leader and part demon myself, more so than even you could know!" The man growled, pulling down his collar just enough to show off a strange cloth around his shoulders beneath his mask with curious looking seals stitched into it. "You should have told me. Why didn't you tell me and why don't you smell like one? Tell me it all! Stop with the secrets and lying! I won't put up with this deception anymore!" Kakashi demanded sounding absolutely hurt and furious and clearly done with everything. "There is no Sasuke here to shut you up this time, now start talking!"

Harri just whimpered and tried making himself as small as possible unable to help himself as he readily offered his bandaged neck to the man in an attempt to placate him. He couldn't remember being half as scared as he was at that moment in any of the skirmishes that he and his team had ever encountered. He-he couldn't, he couldn't!

All that would come out were distressed 'baby demon' someone, please comfort me and protect me keens when he tried making a single sound. Harri couldn't, he couldn't no no no. Too dangerous, going to hurt him going to hurt him going to-

Harri squeaked when he was drug without warning into the silver-haired man's arms and pressed securely against the man's his chest. He immediately tried to scramble away after the man forced Harri's nose to the crook of his suddenly bare and exposed shoulder over a strange bump he wasn't familiar with.

"Deep breaths, that's it." Kakashi croaned, forcing the boy tight to himself and locking his hand against Harri's head to keep his nose in place. Doing as his rarely freed instincts instructed to calm the young boy down. He waited patiently as Harri's body became more and more lax as he finally was forced to breath in his scent. "Settle down, I'm not going to hurt you, everything's fine." He continued to mumble and pet at Harri's hair. "See? Everything is alright. That's it, that's a good boy. You're safe with me. You'll always be safe with me. No worries. I am just concerned for you."

Harri felt light and sleepy as the man's sudden, much stronger dominant demon scent filled his lungs like a sticky syrup and made his head feel cottony and floaty. He let his head rest on the man's shoulder and did his best to cuddle as close as possible to the man unable to understand why he had been trying to get away from this paternal smelling half-demon in the first place. He couldn't remember the last time he felt so safe and secure not even with Zabuza had he felt so right.

"Now…" Kakashi hesitated ever so slightly before readjusting Harri and beginning to pet his hair like a fussy toddler. He had been taught to suppress his demon nature, just like all Hatake had been, but so far, now that he knew what Harri was letting them lead for once in his life seemed to be working well. Such was especially true after Harri made those horrible noises. Kakashi could clearly see that his glands had calmed the boy into floppy pliant state, just like his father would do before he would go on a mission when he was a pup. It made something wonderfully warm and lovingly possessive bubble up in him.

Another part of Kakashi felt almost bad that he was taking advantage of Harri's calmed state, as he was near certain he could ask him or get him to do anything he told him to do at that moment. Kakashi didn't remember getting this drunken acting from it though. Had Itachi never done this with him? Harri sure didn't act like he had known what he was trying to do. It made Kakashi want to bundle him up and coddle the poor boy even worse. How cold was that monster if he didn't even gentle and scent his own pup? Especially one as fragile and insecure as Harri.

The silver-haired man gave it a few more moments before speaking, after Harri tensed a bit before settling back down into that dreamy half asleep state.

"So… Tell me, why can't I tell what you are by your smell? Hm? I just want to know because I didn't know how to properly take care of you before. What if I gave you something that isn't good for what you are? I just want you safe, that's all." The man said silky sweet and barely above a whisper, letting his voice fall into that special sort of protective comforting tone only a dominant adult demon gentling a pup could slip into. It was obvious any kind of aggression sounding questions would just have the boy terrified so he felt this was a better approach. Manipulative yes, but if it gave him the answers to his questions Kakashi didn't really care.

" 'lack 'amily scroll. It's….. it's a' special scent blocker " Harry mumbled against the man's neck.

"Scent blocker?"

Harri gave a sleepy hum and began to nuzzle the man's exposed gland. "Umhm, drink one and put other on. Ran… low Wave country."

"I see…." Kakashi said, try not to tense at such knowledge. Such concoctions had a tendency to have a certain level of toxicity to them and even if it didn't, he didn't want his charge obscuring his scent from him anymore. The demon part of him, the part he hardly even knew anymore since his father had passed on, bristled at the thought of the young demon obscuring his own scent. It made him feel strangely anxious. This was his pup!

The need to rub his scent all over his student and hide him away somewhere safe like a baby was persistent. He couldn't be left alone, the part of him that he had tried to pretend didn't exist anymore demanded insisting that he was too young and needed protection. Though, even before Kakashi had found out that the Hokage had gone over his head and insisted Harri be placed in the Chunnin exams as well, Kakashi had been adamantly against it.

Kakashi honestly didn't think Harri should be a Shinobi at all and that was before his suspicions of him having demon blood outside of the little that always had clung to each Uchihan clan member were confirmed. "So… Why didn't you tell me or even the Nara's what you were? I am sure that you can tell that nearly all of the more powerful clans have at least a small amount of demon blood in them. It is honestly why they are so powerful."

"I-I promised. Dad said somethin' bad would happen if they found out."

"Why? Why would he think that?"

"Hm….. I'm a demon." Harri mumbled.

"I know that but why?" Kakashi asked again, trying to be patient.

"I'm a demon." The black haired demoness repeated.

"Yes, a lot of us are part demon we just don't flaunt it around here. Why is that so important?" The man rephrased.

Harri furrowed his eyebrows. "I'm a demon…" Sounding ever so frustrated but was still too bogged down with Kakashi's soothing scent to be able to properly articulate what he was trying to explain to the man. That…. Or he was just aware enough that he was avoiding explaining the real reason and was too out of it to talk around the question.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes, his pupil turned to a pin dot as a thought struck him. A demon... A demon….. was he saying he was a purebred? No human? Mist had been rumored to have quite a few even now. Supposedly, even housing some demon nobility or something along those lines. But how if Itachi was his father could he be full blooded? The Uchiha had always smelled a little more demon than the rest, but his scent had always been a bit more muddled and confusing than the rest as well. Kakashi had only worked with the other a few times and not for an extended period of time. Could he have been one of the once in usually a dozen or so generations to be born a demon from recessive genes? Like Madara? But why did he age regularly then? Harri to?

"Do you mean you are a full-blooded demon…. No human?" The man asked, almost not wanting to know the answer. He got a hum in response. Kakashi couldn't help but pale, no wonder he kept having urges to treat Harri like some infant. At his age, he practically was still just a baby in demon terms. The lecture from Zabuza…. It made sense now. Depending on what Harri was exactly, he very well could be considered to be an infant even.

Kakashi knew that his clan was descended from a pair of canine-like demon brothers that were part some sort of powerful higher demon and some sort of lesser demon who had both been amazingly talented in human terms. They were considered to be weak compared to the higher demons in the clan that they originated from. That clan was very important in demon circles. And were canine-like storm demons of sorts who had left the area a long long time ago. Only the pair and a couple of lesser servant demons had stayed behind to form their own territory and clan and eventually began breeding with humans.

A unique ability of the sort of demons bred into his lines was the ability to grow and age more like a human until adulthood if put in a dangerous situation with no other demons to raise them. It was a safety mechanism. It was a straining dangerous one that was safer and worked better on older pups, like he himself had been, and those that weren't carriers like Harri surely was. Harri had been just a baby when he arrived in leaf if he was like that then…. Shit. Kakashi pulled the little demoness closer, no wonder he had so many issues.

"Why… why did they tell you not to tell anyone what you were?"

"He sai' people would try to take 'ay 'cus 'y mom's clan was a 'ecial sort demon and rare for… boys 'be able' have babies… it wasn' normal with-with h'mans."

"I see. What was so special about your mother's clan?" Kakashi pressed further, even as Harri twitched oddly. It startled the man when he felt the tiny boy suddenly tense up and pull away from him. He carefully tried guiding the boy back to his glands but was unpleasantly surprised when he snapped at him and bit deep into the meat of his hand and scrambled back.

"Harri, it's alright. I was being a bit pushy. Now come here and we can take a nap, together. Won't that be nice? I always felt so much better after falling asleep with my father's scent around me." The man cooed. Desperate to sooth the pup.

"No! You-you- how could you? I- you tricked me into feeling safe, good, but it- you made me tell you those things! You used your-your smell to make me all fuzzy! I'm-I'm not going anywhere near you! N-not ever again…." Harri wiped at his eyes with one hand as the horrible telltale burning from bloody tears dripping from his eyes flashed through him and with the other he did his best to cover his nose. "Even if…. We're closely rel-" Harri shook his head, "We are not the same and I-I don't n-need you! I don't want to tell you any of those things!" Harri shouted.

"Hey-hey calm down." The platinum haired man insisted even as he looked like he had been clocked in the face by Harri's words though there was something odd in his eye to, something dark. His pup, his family. "You don't mean that. Now calm down and lets tal-"

"No! I do! I don't want anything to do with you anymore or Iruka! I've already got a father!" Harri barked.

"Yeah, and where is he, hm? That's what I thought. You're clinging to memories of someone who manipulated you and didn't even want you and don't even think for a second that I didn't catch that slip! What were you going to say? Hm… We are closely what, related?" The man snarked his newly exposed face, something Harri had only just noticed was full of clenched canines and a hint of desperate wildness.

His face then slipped to something, almost like he was going to throw up after a few moments. Now that he knew what he was looking for…. Harri's blood it smelled like… "Hatake. It's been nagging at me since meeting you. You don't smell like-like Itachi Uchiha you… you smell far closer to what little of what I remember of my great grandfather, a Hatake, before he died when I was very small. He's-he wasn't your father at all was he?" Kakashi said tone strangely accusing, exposed eye like an ice chip.

"Even though they were related to you in some way…. I'm the closest relation you have alive, aren't I? That's why when you were brought back with Itachi they suddenly became more hostile towards me again and were so secretive about you for so long. The Uchiha must have known if I found out then I would be able to take you by right of clan blood relation laws." He had thought he was all alone. That his family had long past died out but… they had only split from their original clan a few generations prior and had been quite a young clan compared to most in leaf. Less than 170 years old and already wiped out by a mixture of disease and war and their long lifespans making it difficult to reproduce meant a very small clan, to begin with… But that wasn't what mattered, what mattered was that the main clan had still been alive up until not too long ago.

Kakashi didn't think he could hate someone so much in that moment. Itachi Uchiha left him thinking he was without anyone when he had Harri all along without Kakashi knowing it. He missed so much. If he had known Harri could have been raised as his pup instead of that bastards! As his and Iruka's, once they had got together. Iruka would have been a mother as he was meant to and deserved to be and he would have a family. Someone to teach and care for and-and how dare Itachi hide away the only thing he had ever wanted? And what did he know about raising a demon pup? Nothing! Zabuza was right. Harri hadn't been taken care of properly and at such a young vulnerable age he needed to be.

"I-I'm not listening to this an-anymore! Your just-just he's my dad, mine!" Harri insisted, clearly unwilling to listen at that point as he stumbled to the door, face smeared with blood.

Kakashi stood with an odd calculating look on his face. "Either way, you aren't going to be on your own anymore. After this, I am going to head straight to the council. You will become my ward and I'll start taking care of you."

Harri shook his head, "I'm the Uchiha heir. I have to stay on clan land! He-he loved me!" He stubbornly insisted, like somehow him denying the man would have the Uchiha running back to him. Even if the idea of being cared for by the platinum man almost had him aching with want and an instinctual need to curl up in the man's lap and beg for attention and to be protected. Kakashi had broken his trust.

"You're a Hatake with Stockholm's syndrome after being kidnapped by the Uchiha and for all, we know Itachi participated in the slaughter of the rest of your branch of our clan just to steal you away to raise and use for himself!" The man snapped, feeling an unusual amount of anger that the boy was still so attached to such a useless parental figure.

That last little bit had Harri though as he began to hysterically sob and stumbled out of the door. "He loved me!" Harri blubbered.

Kakashi just continued to sit there casually pulling back on and readjusting his layers of clothing and coverings after that. Harri obviously couldn't be the rational one in this situation. He was only a child, one that had been manipulated and brainwashed by the Uchiha at a very young age. He was now certain that he was doing the right thing even if it didn't seem like such at the moment.

The platinum-haired man did feel bad for upsetting Harri so much, but honestly, it was for his own good at that point. It was the only way he could come up with that would come with swift results leaning in his favor. There was no way Harri could stay practically alone in the Uchiha compound without supervision if it became known that Harri bleed from the eyes. On top of that if they found out Harri was a close, cousin of Kakashi's, then they would have no choice but to give him to him. Yes, this was for his charge's own good if everyone saw the blood, then there would be no way of hiding his health issues any longer. He could be properly taken care of, protected, and appropriately guided by himself and fawned over by his beloved dolphin.

Regret and guilt filled Kakashi for not being there for the young boy. For all of the years that he was subjected to the Uchihas even if they were related to Harri, they obviously weren't any good for Itachi so who knew what they had said and done to the tiny demoness. It wasn't like they had treated Naruto very good and he was just a kid himself. Though Kakashi hadn't been the best to the boy either so he probably didn't have much of a say when it came to thoughts like that. Still Harri, a delicate carrier hadn't only been emotionally and mentally abused by those that had taken him in but had been completely abandoned with his crazy nephew? Cousin? And left to stew in instability when he…. He could have made his life good, happy from the start. Now, at this point Harri tried to reject him. To reject his Iruka!

A strangely satisfied expression light up Kakashi's eyes, when, a few minutes later, the sounds of frightened and worried screeches and screams carried to his ears. Just like music. In time Harri would understand and they would become a proper little pack, he, Iruka, Harri and the dogs. They would become a family and they would all be happier for it. Well, it was time to go take advantage of the situation.

End Chapter 16

So yeah this came out of nowhere for me too. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I am trying to figure out how this is going to turn out. Should I have Harri not allowed to participate and sent to live with Kakashi or allowed to?

By the way, someone has been plagiarising this story and I am upset about it. Please report or tell me if you see my story stolen somewhere else. The person is called like blackmoon something or other and the Story is called EMERALD UCHIHA so if you see still up please report it.
