Heyo back again. We already kind of know what's going to happen once Wilhelms power core is taken back to Sanctuary. No previously since nothing special with Maddox happens in this.
Chapter 19: Bombardment
Maddox was still leaning on Gaige for support upon entering Sanctuary through the fast travel network. Salvador had the power core and everyone knew they could relax for a while. Sal disappeared to plug the new powercore back in. Maddox rested on the couch and Gaige was getting out the charger that she had made for him. She plugged the cord into the wall. "I think it's time to tell you my secret." Jack spoke to all seven of them. Everyone froze as the suspense filled the air. "Angel's working for me."
"Lowering Sanctuary's shields Jack." Again everyone except for Maddox could hear her speak.
The ground began to tremble. Gaige dropped the charger and ran over to Maddox's side and again he used her as support. They made it outside to see moonshots hitting Sanctuary. Buildings were being hit and people were being crushed Zed was running around taking care of as much wounded as he could. Axton was helping Scooter with the was doing her best phase locking moon shots before they hit the ground. Zero and the rest were gathering up people to hide them in buildings.
"Gaige go get eridium for Lilith." Axton commanded her. Gaige nodded and walked over to the couch and dropped Maddox onto it and ran upstairs; soon reappearing with an arm full of eridium and ran outside. Maddoc could only look outside to understand what was going on. Suddenly, there was a bright pinkish purple flash that blinded Maddox for a little.
When the light was gone, everything began to shake violently and Maddox could detect that the city was slowly starting to rise.
"What do you bandits have that could possibly beat me?" Jack mocked over the intercom.
"A siren." Roland simply replied.
"'Sup." Lilith mocked. There was another purple flash and just as quickly it was gone. However, Maddox could tell that Sanctuary was not floating in the air. Sanctuary was moving at a very high speed and was in the middle of Lilith's Phase Walk. Maddox waited for Gaige to walk back in but she never did. However, Roland wandered into the building.
"Where's everyone else?" Maddox asked.
"Wait you're still here? Sorry Lilith accidentally teleported everyone else outside the city."
"Oh."
"Don't worry, they can handle themselves."
"Yeah, they'll be ok."
A large crab like animal burrowed into the ground and exploded spewing its golden crystals everywhere. "I think that's the last of them." Axton said as he walked over towards a massive door.
"Cool can we get out of here? I didn't think The Fridge would actually feel this cold." Gaige complained as she hugged herself.
Zero went up to one of the crystals and picked one up. "These crystals are gold/ a nice natural beauty/ can be used as money."
"Alright hurry up, there's an elevator over here." Axton sounded off.
They all rode down until meeting another large door that took them outside. As they stepped outside their was a bright flash of light and Sanctuary appeared in the sky.
"So how do we get up there?" Axton asked everyone.
Angel spoke to them again, "There's a fast travel station there, you can use that to get back to Sanctuary."
Maya went up to the device and began typing in the location.
"ERROR: Location [Sanctuary] not found." The station's automated AI spoke.
"Crap… I mean darn, It looks like Sanctuary took itself off the fast travel network when it teleported. Head to the town of Overlook, there I can send you a station that should connect with Sanctuary but first you're gonna need a locator beacon. There should be one in a Hyperion Dam nearby. The six of them began to head towards the dam fighting these invisible creatures called Stalkers and Loaders that were equipped with flamethrowers that exploded upon death.
The six of them continued to fight and eventually got through the dam until a EXP loader had blown up the bridge controls. "Now what?" Gaige asked.
They all looked for a way across the water, looking for controls or a platform they could use to jump across. "FLYING METAL BOX!" Krieg shouted pointing towards a metal container that traveled across the gap.
"That would work." Axton smiled, they all rode across the lake and encountered their first constructor. They all took cover from the large machine as it created turrets and fired rockets or lasers at them. On top of that they had to fight multiple Loaders having nothing but a crate to use for cover. They were pinned and eventually would be overrun by multiple Exp Loaders. "We need to do something." Maya said as she phase locked a Exp Loader that got too close.
"I have an idea." Gaiger shouted.
"Feel free to share, I think we're all open to ideas." Axton shouted back.
"Axton deploy your turret up on that wall, then head back to the other side and use your sniper to take pot shots on any of the enemies. Zero go with him. Krieg go on a rampage out there. You'll be exposed but Maya can heal you while you're out. Salvador I want you to cover him while he's drawing most of their fire. I'll be sending out Deathtrap to help him out." Gaige planned.
"Alright, let's do it." Axton confirmed.
"This might work." Maya smiled.
"Alright amigo, I'll do whatever you say." Sal agreed.
"A good plan this is/ We will succeed with this one/ I will start killing." Zero the poet spoke.
"LET THE BLACK BLOOD CURDLE WITH RAGE AS MEAT TEARS IT APART!" Krieg shouted.
"Alright on the count of three we go." Gaige demanded. "1...2...3!" Krieg ran out with his buzz axe and swung it around his head. Axton deployed his turret and climbed back up to the crate while Zero followed behind. The turret continued to fire at the enemy while Salvador began to Gunzerk every enemy that tried to sneak up on Krieg. Death Trap was out slashing with Krieg and Gaige was also giving firine support. Maya was focused on healing Krieg by shooting him. Pretty soon two powerful blasts came across the lake. Taking out vital parts of the enemy. Eventually the fight was over. The constructor lay in ruins as it exploded. Robot parts sat everywhere. Sal was nearly out of ammo. Maya was exhausted from using her abilities to keep Krieg going. Axton and Zero came back over with hands on their shoulders from the Sniper rifle kick. Death Trap was shutting down. Krieg was covered in oil and maybe some of his own blood.
"Alright… smooth sailing from here right?" Gaige asked.
"The beacon is through that gate. I know you guys are exhausted but you won't be safe until you get back to Sanctuary." Angel spoke to all of them.
See told you, there's nothing new about Maddox at all. Again no inventory update since they still haven't had any rest.
