AN: Hi All!

Thanks to all who read, follow, fave, and review!

Special thanks to, MaidensTouchOfMadness, catgrl, and twi nana, for reviewing last chapter!

Since there will be a more detailed explanation of the Uley family backstory in this chapter, I should probably explain something here...

For the purposes of this story and its sequels, everyone with the Shapeshifter gene is immune to the Westermarck Effect.

The Westermarck Effect is a psychological hypothesis that people who live in close domestic proximity during the first few years of their lives become desensitized to sexual attraction. In other words, it's why people who grow up together aren't as likely to hook up.

If you haven't noticed yet, this story is a little incesty and its sequels will be too, so that's why I'm ignoring the Westermarck Effect :'-D

Further to that whole thing, you might want to refer to the Uley Family Tree (which you can either Google or access via the Twilight Wiki) during the latter part of this chapter because it will help with any confusion that may arise.

Another thing you may also want to Google…

I selected faceclaims for Billy and Charlie's sisters in case you want to know how I picture them as I write them.

Nora: Tonantzin Carmelo

Jennie: Sarah Podemski

Connie: Blu Hunt

Emmie: Andrea Gabriel

But of course, feel free to picture them however you want :-D

And now, I give you Chapter 11!

Chapter Eleven: Good Talks and Good Food

When we arrived at the tribal hall, the potluck items were already out on the buffet table and people were helping themselves. There was a cacophony of noise throughout the hall with people chatting in groups and children playing. Kids hadn't been invited to the formal ceremony but they were welcome at the reception and there were a lot of them present.

We loaded up plates of food for the girls and got them seated at the table where Mom and Dad were. We told them we'd come join them after we talked to our sisters.

We found Emmie first. Surprisingly, she was with none other than Joshua Uley himself. I fought with myself to not roll my eyes or punch him and I could tell Billy was similarly tense. He wasn't shaking yet though, so that was a good thing.

Billy caught her eye and motioned for her to come talk to us, without Joshua. We heard her tell him she'd be back in a bit.

When she walked over to us, she hugged Billy first and then me. "So, it looks like you're both my brothers. I don't know if you've talked to Nora or the twins yet, but they got the same results I did. All six of us are William's kids biologically. I kind of think maybe Geoffrey is infertile. But he and Helen might not know that, so I wouldn't suggest saying anything about that part," she whispered, still hugging me tightly.

"So, if I'm your brother, does that mean I can ask why you seem to be back together with the jerk who broke your heart, Emms?" I frowned, my brow furrowing as I waited for an explanation.

"I should have known that question was coming. I only broke up with him because he got another girl pregnant and decided to do the right thing and marry her. He didn't cheat on me though, I told him from the start that he could be with whomever he wanted to whenever I was away.

"I was only mad because he had married her and I thought that meant our relarionship had to be over. I didn't know about the tribal law yet, but he did. Once I finally stopped dodging his phone calls, he explained, and we got back together. He wants me to marry him too," she confessed, showing off a ring with a silver band and a tiny diamond.

"Look, I'm all for second chances, Emmie, and I'm glad you're happy, but there are some things you should probably know about that family before you decide if you want to marry him. Can you please promise you'll talk to Sue before you decide anything for sure?" Billy asked.

He was right to worry. If Jonathan Uley was beating Joshua so badly as a child that he was taken away and given to Charles Uley to raise...there's no guarantee how much of that experience stayed with him. And I know from my police training that the cycle of abuse is a real thing. I'd never want to see Emmie put herself in harm's way, just because she loves the guy.

"What do you two know that I don't?" Emmie worried, chewing on her lip like she did when she was little.

"About the Uley family? A lot. Let's just say the skeletons in their closets make ours look like Easter bunnies," I cautioned. "Just talk to Sue, please. It doesn't have to be today, but soon."

"Okay, fine, I will. But just to soothe your rampant paranoia. You boys worry far too much." Emmie laughed. "Come find me later, my food is getting cold," she stated, kissing us each on the cheek before heading back to Joshua. Hopefully, at least our warning would make her a little more careful.

We didn't have time to worry just then though because as soon as Emmie left us, the twins came running up. "Did Emms tell you? Chuckers here is our brother too!" Connie chirped squishing me as hard as she could. I started tickling her to make her let me go. Then I ruffled her hair to mess it up and she stomped on my foot in retaliation.

"Quit hogging him!" Jennie huffed, grabbing Connie from behind and handing her off to Billy. "Hi, Chuckalucka. We miss seeing you at work." She pouted as she hugged me.

When I was working with the Forks PD, I ran into the twins at the hospital a few times. Sometimes there was an overlap between police services and medical services. Like for things like car accidents or stabbings or whatnot.

"I'm sure our paths will still cross once in a while. I'm going to be running the La Push PD, and Forks is still our closest hospital. So any injuries too serious to take to the tribal clinic, we'll be bringing to you," I assured them.

"Good then, maybe we can eat gross cafeteria food together sometime!" Connie laughed.

"Oh come on, your cafeteria's not that bad," I challenged.

"It is when you have to eat it every day." Jennie frowned.

"You know, I'm sure if you gave Sarah and Renée a key to your place, they'd be happy to sneak some homemade lunches into your freezer that you could take and eat at work," I offered. "I mean, maybe not right now because the babies are making them pretty tired lately. But once they are born, they'll be feeling better."

The twins both laughed. "You think your wives are going to have more energy once they are chasing around after three little children? Oh boy, are you two in for a shock!" Jennie informed us.

"Well, they don't have to start chasing them right away. I've heard all newborns do is eat, sleep, and poop," I clarified.

"Yes, but they sleep at odd times and they keep you up all night. So trust me when I say that your women will be tired, Boys. Sorry to burst your bubble," Jennie explained.

"How do you know? Do you have a secret baby we don't know about?" Billy frowned.

"No, but I've done shifts in the maternity ward before, we both have," she corrected.

"Oh. Yeah, that makes more sense." Billy laughed.

"Besides, Billy, how could Jennie get pregnant? She doesn't even have a boyfriend," Connie teased.

"Shut up, neither do you," Jennie huffed.

"I don't want one. I am focusing on my career." Connie grinned.

"So am I!" Jennie defended.

"Sure, sure. That's why Lesley Weber in Pedes keeps trying to set you up with her handsome brother," Connie gossiped.

"He's cute but he's attending seminary school. Can you honestly picture me as a pastor's wife?" Jennie frowned.

"Sure, why not? I know you like him," Connie insisted.

Jennie blushed and frowned. "Ugh, we aren't here to talk about my love life, Con. We're here to celebrate our brothers finding their happiness. Let's go get some food and leave them alone. They have other guests to greet," she huffed, dragging Connie away with her.

"Fine, but come find us later, Chuckers!" Connie called out as she was led away.

"We probably should have warned them about those nicknames." Billy laughed.

"Yeah, the girls might lecture them, but oh well, could be funny." I shrugged evilly.

Just then, someone tapped Billy on the back. We turned around to face her but I already knew who it was. "Hey, Snora! Haven't seen you in a while." Billy teased.

"Oh grow up, or I will be forced to retaliate, Bilberry. Hello, Chuck! Did you hear the good news?" Nora asked, hugging us each in turn. I got the first hug.

"That I'm stuck with this gaggle of hens for life now? Yep, sure did. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better crop of sisters. But you might wanna spread the word, our wives are insisting everyone call me Charlie now. They think Chuck sounds like vomit or some such nonsense, but you know what they say...happy wife, happy life, right?" I laughed.

"Ooh, yikes, yes we would not want to be starting any trouble in paradise for you. Thank you for the heads up, I will let the others know. I will be sure to tell them Sarah and Renée already have you good and whipped, too!" She smirked playfully.

"Thanks, Nora, you're a peach." I grinned. "Oh, and by the way, please thank that husband of yours for getting Mom and Dad here today. It wouldn't have been the same without them."

"I will let him know, but he was happy to do it. Speaking of Mom and Dad, are they aware that we know the truth, yet?" She questioned.

"Not officially. We were thinking it might be nice if we all talked to them together, after dinner?" I suggested.

"Good idea. Give me a signal when everyone is done eating and I will round the girls up and we will head over to your table, alright?" She agreed.

"Sure thing, thanks, Nora." I smiled.

"Yeah, thanks, Chicken Legs." Billy grinned.

Nora rolled her eyes. "I do not know how you manage to put up with this one all the time, Chu, er...Charlie. He is just like an overgrown little boy."

"Hey, you're the one who went and married a big-shot millionaire. What kind of little brother would I be, if I didn't keep you from getting your head swole?" Billy shrugged.

"Touché." She nodded. "Alright, well, Malcolm is waving me over, so I am going to go have my dinner now. Remember to let me know when you are ready for us."

"Will do, enjoy the grub!" I waved as we headed back to the buffet line to grab our food.

There were so many items, the selection was huge!

Meatballs, deer sausage, chicken wings, pot roast, glazed ham, baked beans, pork ribs, one of those goulash thingies, macaroni and cheese, turkey and stuffing, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, hashbrown casserole, honey garlic carrots, potato skins, macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, pasta salad, fancy tossed salad, caesar salad, veggie platter, meat and cheese tray, assorted nuts, chips and other munchies.

It was pretty astounding! And don't even get me started on the desserts. I was certainly grateful for having a wolf's appetite because I knew I would have room to be able to try some of everything. Gone were the days of picking and choosing what to try at a potluck. From here on, if someone said, "Did you try the dish that I made?" I would always be able to answer with a resounding yes.

The girls giggled as we returned to the table with our oversized mountains of food.

Mom and Dad's eyes nearly bugged out of their heads.

"Goodness gracious!" Helen scoffed. "You boys act as if you are the ones eating for two! Or three, in Sarah's case, and yet her plate is half the size of yours. I thought we raised you boys better than that," she chastised in a rare moment of lucidity.

Her Alzheimer's had been progressing to the point where some days she would forget what year it was, so the fact that she remembered that Sarah was having twins, was pretty impressive.

"Don't worry, Helen. The boys are going to sneak us some extra food so we don't look like pigs," Renée fibbed in explanation. I shot her an appreciative glance. Mom's memory wasn't good enough to bother telling her we were wolves now. She'd just forget again anyway, or worse, forget it was supposed to be a secret and start telling people at the nursing home.

Geoffrey's memory was fine though, and I saw him raise an eyebrow at us that made me think he might suspect something. I'd have to talk to him later when Mom wasn't around.

We made conversation with them while we ate and they told us all about the friends they had been making where they lived and the activities they did there. Mom was still knitting and Dad said she'd been working on baby clothes and that we should expect a whole pile of them once the babies were born. The girls were totally appreciative and thanked her up and down for her generosity.

Once we had all finished eating, I flagged Nora down and she brought Emmie and the twins over.

"Oh! My girls! My girls!" Mom exclaimed, getting up to hug them. Her mind might be going but unlike Geoffrey, she was still pretty spry physically.

"Hi, Mom." Emmie tried, bravely.

With my supernatural hearing, I knew her heart was racing. It was the first time any of the girls had ever called Helen 'Mom'. Billy did on occasion, but mostly just when talking to me and our wives.

"Oh! You know?" Helen gasped as Renée and Sarah excused themselves to go mingle with our guests and offered their seats to the twins.

Nora clasped Helen's hand in both of hers. "We know," she confirmed, helping Mom into her chair and taking a seat in the empty one beside her.

Emmie grabbed an extra chair for herself from a table behind us and took a seat next to Dad. "Why didn't you ever tell us?" she asked softly.

"We didn't wish to put the burden on you kids of keeping our secret. We had a hard enough time keeping it secret ourselves. It would have been even more challenging if we'd been open with all of you. Keeping my hands off your mother in public was not an easy thing," Geoffrey replied.

"Yes, Judith was...so beautiful," Helen agreed wistfully.

It hadn't occurred to me until that moment that our mothers might have been intimate together as well, but that was certainly the vibe I was getting. I think my siblings were all having the same epiphany I was.

"It must have been so hard," Jennie sympathized. "Having to pretend not to love them."

"Well...I think everyone knew we loved them, they just assumed it was a platonic sort of love." Dad smiled sadly.

"It was a blessing that we were already in assisted living in town when they passed. I don't think we could have grieved them without giving ourselves away, if we were still living among our family and friends. We were grateful to have a place to break down in private where no one really knew us very well," Mom added.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. I can't even imagine a loss like that," Billy consoled.

I found myself hoping we would never have to experience such a thing ourselves. I couldn't imagine losing Sarah or Renée or Billy. We were a unit. It would be like losing a part of my soul.

"We hope you never have to, Loves," Mom said softly, echoing my thoughts.

"At least, things are different now. The tribe knows about Ephraim's law, so for Billy and Chu...err...Charlie and their brides, they only have to be discrete in town which is a vast improvement," Connie stated, correcting herself over my name. Obviously, Nora had passed that suggestion along to the others.

"Yes, what is it with everyone calling you Charlie now? You know your father nicknamed you Chuck when you were just a little boy. 'You're in Love, Charlie Brown' had just come out and you had a little crush on Peppermint Patty so your dad started calling you Chuck," Helen told us.

"You did?" I asked Dad, having not heard this story.

"Not me, William. Your father," he confessed.

"You knew?" I puzzled.

He held his arm out next to mine. It was considerably paler. "Your mother isn't dark enough to have given you that complexion all on her own." He winked. "And when all the babies kept coming out looking like William, I went to the doctor. Biologically, I can't have children," he confessed.

"But you do have children," Emmie smiled brightly. "You have six of us," she stated, kissing his cheek.

Just then, Ellen Uley, Suzie's cousin, came rushing up to Emmie and interrupted the moment. "Hate to barge in, but where is Josh? Allison's in labor! We have to go!" she insisted.

Emmie gasped. "Baby Sam is coming?!" Her smile reached her ears as Ellen nodded. We all turned our eyes to the crowd searching for Joshua.

"There he is, talking to Harry!" Jennie announced, pointing toward the drinks table on the far side of the room.

"Okay, Mom, Dad, I hate to cut this short, but I'm about to become a mom! Sort of. I'll explain when I come to see you on Tuesday. In the meantime, I have to go," Emmie apologized, hugging everyone quickly and rushing off to round up Joshua.

"Oh boy. I guess that means she won't be taking my advice." Billy shrugged.

"She might still talk to Suzie. But it's not like that will stop the baby from coming. And I'm pretty sure even if she does sit down with her, she's still gonna marry him. When Emms gets that look in her eyes, there's usually no dissuading her," I reasoned.

"Are you boys worried about Emily marrying Joshua because he comes from an abusive home? Joshie is a good boy, he's nothing like his father," Mom assured us.

"Charles Uley was abusive? Are you sure? Ellen and I were pretty close before I moved away and she never once said anything," Nora worried.

"No, Sweetheart. Charles wasn't Joshua's father. Everyone thinks he was because he raised him from the time he was four. Jonathan was Joshie's father. His mother is Mirabelle," Mom explained, confirming what Harry had already told Billy and me.

"Mirabelle? But I thought she was Jonathan's sister?" Jennie stage whispered.

"Yes, but she was adopted. Levi was her father biologically. Caleb and Alice didn't think they could have children and Levi already had two boys when Mirabelle was born so he let them adopt her. So even though she was raised with Jonathan, she's his blood cousin, not his blood sister.

"The council was torn when Jonathan and Mirabelle asked to be married under the tribal law, but the vote passed just barely, so they allowed it. Had they known what a monster Jonathan would turn into, they likely wouldn't have allowed him to have even one wife, let alone two," Mom confided.

"Holy cow, how bad was he?" Connie frowned.

"In the beginning he was fine. He got worse with time as his drinking increased. Joshie got the brunt of it as the oldest. After he was taken away, Charlotte and Mirabelle kept the children out of Jonathan's way as much as possible so they wouldn't lose Suzie and Lucas too. Neither of them would leave him though, they both thought they could save him from himself so they stayed with him.

"Why do you think we used to babysit Suzie so much? Charlotte and Mirabelle would send them over to Charles and Clara's to play. Lucas did fine over there, but Ellen was jealous of Suzie and would pick on her, so she started coming to our house instead," Mom explained.

"Oh, I thought it was just because you knew I had a crush on her." I laughed.

"Geez, Chuck, Peppermint Patty...Suzie Uley...who didn't you have a crush on?" Connie teased.

I shrugged. "What can I say? I'm a sucker for beautiful women." I grinned as Sarah and Renée returned.

"Cheers to that!" Billy laughed, raising his glass to our girls with a wink.

With their return, the conversation shifted to more casual topics and we spent the rest of the evening chatting and laughing and dancing with our family and friends.

We didn't have a formal photographer, but we had placed polaroid cameras on all the tables and asked that everyone leave the polaroid pictured in a basket by the door at the end of the evening and to use their own cameras for any pictures they wanted to keep for themselves. The girls planned on making a big fancy wedding scrapbook with the pictures. Our girls are such go-getters, we're pretty lucky.

"Thank you for marrying us." I beamed as Sarah and I slow-danced right next to Billy and Renée.

She smiled shyly, looking down at her feet. So adorable. "Thank you for wanting us to."

As I kissed the angel in my arms, I heard several polaroids click, capturing the moment.

It was a pretty great moment indeed.

AN: Okay, so, good news for anyone who likes this story! Poly World is really inspiring me to the point where I don't really want to stop writing it for any reason. So, after this there are four more chapters and after that...I'm doing parts two and three right away before I work on anything else.

Don't worry, I'll be writing day and night until I finish these, because that's how much I'm enjoying it. So I hope you are too?

Either way, I love to hear your feedback!
