Dean cradled the shaking boy in his arms softly, stroking the brown hair away from his forehead. "It's okay, it's okay." He whispered soothingly. The boy's beautiful eyes were screwed shut, tears leaking down the corners and Dean felt his heart wrench. He felt pricking beneath his own eyelids and squeezed them closed, taking in a shuddering breath. As the boy gripped his shirt tightly in his clenched fists, Dean felt his sorrow mix with hot hatred.
He burned with anger.
Why did a love as pure as theirs have to be tainted by the remnants of someone so callous and selfish? The love that had shattered before they were even born somehow intertwined itself into their very lives, the endings of a prophecy that they did not start. Dean and Pharm were like magnets, attracted to each other before they had even spoken a word.
Pharm opened his eyes slowly, and Dean saw misery curled in them so deep into his that it took his breath away. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"P' Dean…" Pharm started hesitantly. His eyes closed once again and he continued, "It was their anniversary… but Korn left… a-and Intouch was hurt so bad... " Tears started leaking out again and Dean hugged him tighter.
He could feel it, the hopelessness and anger that Korn felt, the love that he felt for Intouch, and the cowardice that came with it.
Dean swore softly, nestling his face into Pharm's soft hair and inhaling his captivating scent. All he wanted to do was keep Pharm safe and happy, he wanted to be by his side forever and protect him from anything that could hurt him. But Korn killed himself, and that in turn killed Intouch. The hurt that Korn had given Intouch was carved on Pharms face and Dean wanted to beat up his past life. Someone so selfish didn't deserve to be with Intouch, didn't deserve to love him or even look his way.
He raised Pharm's head up gently and looked him in the eyes. "I will never leave you." He whispered. Pharm's face opened up slowly, until he was staring freely into Dean's eyes. He leaned gently towards the other boy, and without a sound he brought his lips up and kissed him. Their heartbeats thudded in tandem and their love was almost tangible in the air.
"You are the perfect one for me, P'".
Dean smiled as he felt his heart ache.
"I've always known that."
