A figure paced back and forth in front of Misa. Hanging her head, golden locks fell over her face as she struggled against the rope bindings that kept her prisoner to a chair. 'Think, think, think. I'm obviously in a basement.' Misa listened for nearby sounds. 'Almost no road traffic, so likely in the suburbs of some sort. I can hear the occasional car pass by. This was a flippant kidnapping… he wasn't ready.' Opening her sapphire eyes she lifted her head in defiance. "So. You aren't dead? So, what, you thought you could just disappear and leave everything behind?"
The figure stilled before slowly turning to her. Angry golden irises bore into her. "Well, at least I didn't run around with some unknown person and start a family. I was a faithful husband."
Misa scoffed. "Uh. Kind of hard to be loyal and faithful when the world thinks your husband is dead. Do you even understand the pressure on me to have a man? No, of course not, you've never been famous for anything but being exceedingly good at being mediocre. Right, prior chief of NPA?" Her tone was laced with sarcastic venom.
A deep laughter was heard from the man. "Since when have you been so bold? So defiant?"
Crinkling her nose before a wicked smile took hold of her plush lips. "I met a man. He taught me many things. Expression was one of them." A quick breath was taken in from the captor, prompting her to continue. "What day is it? How long have I been out? Look, if it's Thursday I have to update my status on my website or my fans will begin to suspect something is wrong. And, if you thought detectives were bad? You never met a fanboy. Also, Sayu is my manager, if I don't update my status, she'll get very suspicious and cut her trip short to come home. Wouldn't want your sister to know… would you?"
Light glared daggers across the room at the bound woman. "Are you kidding me? Why would I let you tell the world where you are?"
Misa groaned. "Your choice, its not like I can say anything anyway. You'd kill me and flee before anyone could act. Sounds like a dumb thing to do. Also, your identity has been labeled deceased, the only one in the world who'd…" Her voice trailed as her thoughts reeled. 'No… He can't know L is still alive, it'll send him into a panic. I have to use the cards that he thinks I have.' "The only one who'd believe me, that Light Yagami has me captive would be Near. And, something tells me, he's not a fan. Doesn't seem like the type to follow social media. So outing my position, or my captor, would be suicide. Give me a little more credit than that."
A long pause happened before a sigh resounded from the brunette. "Very well. What do you need for your broadcast?"
-3 hours prior-
Sayu meticulously set up recording equipment in a dark room, only a couple staging lights pointed toward Beyond. "This seems silly, but I have to get a message to her, and knowing her, she's already conned her way into having access to her social media, if she doesn't have access already. So, bare with me, also, who knows, maybe you'll get famous for the right reasons this time."
Beyond rolled his eyes as he tuned his guitar. "Whatever."
Nodding at the equipment Sayu gave a thumbs up. "Just play the song you were playing when I arrived. She has to know I made contact with you. She's in trouble, Marshall. She needs every little scrap of sanity she can get."
The raven sighed and strummed his guitar testing the tune. "Whatever you say. But, please don't call me by that name. I hate it, call me B."
Taking a deep breath Sayu muttered a snide remark as she started the equipment. "Artists."
Beyond took a deep breath and began playing. "So far away from where you are, these miles have torn us worlds apart. And I miss you. Yeah, I miss you. So far away from where you are, I'm standing underneath the stars, and I wish you were here."

Anne paced outside the door as L leaned against the wall. "And you trust her?"
Letting out a quiet sigh, the ravened detective folded his arms. "She's smart and devious like her brother. If she's right about her theory it can only help. If she isn't, what harm could it cause?"
Near rolled his eyes as he monotoned out a reply. "Oh. Maybe, I don't know, broadcasting a serial killer?"
L placed his thumb under his bottom lip. "Almost no one has ever seen Beyond's face. The few that did are dead. It's unlikely anyone would correlate this up and coming artist with a somewhat unknown killer. He only had three victims, he's not necessarily news worthy. No discredit to her fans, but, I'm thinking a very slim percentage of them are interested in researching obscure serial killers."

Sayu tapped on her laptop with lightning speed as she finished the remaining editing. "Alright! Now to just add it to her page and wait!"
She opened the webpage and logged into her account, while adding the new video to Misa's page. "Misa! This is the guy I was talking about! What do you think?! Someone that we could sign?!"
She coarsely swallowed with an audible gulping sound. "Here's to hoping…"
Misa rolled her eyes as Light led her upstairs. She craned her neck on a swivel attempting to take in any in depth details about the home. Light blue walls, cream curtains, brown furniture, no pictures on the walls. "I need my camcorder, my mic that I usually use and a piano. It's the first Thursday of the month. I always give them a free song that I've been working on, and my current piece needs a piano."
Grumbling under his breath Light spoke through gritted teeth. "Will a keyboard work?"
Scoffing in ill temperament Misa growled out. "Then I'll need my sounding board! It will sound scratchy without it! It has to be a real piano or you have to haul my sound equipment from my house, because, let's face it hunny, you don't have the money to just drop on a new sound board."
"Whatever! Fine, you can use my piano! But I'm not wasting my time getting your equipment you'll just deal with what I have!" He led her to the master bedroom, same blue walls, still no framed pictures, not even artwork. A more expensive looking laptop sat on the golden oak nightstand, next to the matching bed set.
"I'll obviously need to use your computer to broadcast. And I'll need good lighting. Am I allowed to open a window? Computer screen glow makes my complexion look like toothpaste. I have to look good for my fans." Light growled as a whipped a curtain open. Misa nodded and smiled. "Good! So, I guess, I'll have to broadcast with… that…" The blonde apathetically pointed to a laptop.
The celebrity placed the laptop on the top of the piano nearing the open window. She opened her webpage and began scrolling. Light crinkled his nose and furrowed his brow. "What are you doing?"
"I can't go in unprepared! I have to have topics to talk about, normally I monitor my account daily and write down things that interest me and then talk about them on Thursdays. But, for obvious reasons, I missed a day and I don't have my notebook. Deal with it." She scrolled down to the post from Sayu. "Oh! A new signee?!"
Clicking the video open she felt her stomach drop as the guitar played, her voice lost all of its power. "No way…" She felt a lump grow in her throat as the man in the video began to sing. "His voice is beautiful…" She could feel a distinct stinging behind her nose at the lyrics. 'I miss all the little things, I never thought they'd mean everything to me.', 'Just know, where ever you are, yeah, I miss you. And I wish you were here.'
Light leaned in and watched a portion of the video. "What's the big deal about him? He isn't that good. I've heard better."
Misa shot the brunette a disgusted glare. "Of course you've heard better! This video was done on a home camcorder, subpar recording, poor acoustics and then played back over an internet connection! You lose so much quality! But his voice, he's a lovely tenor, but beyond that, he has a look; like, kind of bad boyish, but with a sweet song like that?! He'll be every fan girl's dreamboat! Records will fly off the shelves! So to speak, we don't do hard copies anymore… it's all digital now."
Light tilted his head in slight confusion. Misa pinched the bridge of her nose in irritation. "Okay. Every young girl wants that 'tiger in the cage' type, aka: the bad boy/potentially dangerous type. His physical attributes give him that. But, every girl wants that same bad boy, to be a sweetheart to her, and only her. With a song like the one he just played, oh boy. He fits the bill." Her eyes drifted to the paused video as she felt her heart wrench. Staring at the same scarlet eyes that haunted her dreams for a year. 'I miss you too…'
Sayu perked up when her phone chimed with a notification that Misa was Live. "We got it! Ready when you are, L."
L nodded and joined the chat log as the video gained connection. "No luck, we're going to have to do this the old fashioned way, the IP is pinging from three different VPN servers."
Misa's face came into view. "Hey guys! Sorry I'm a little late today! And a severe lack of make up. I'll just call it casual." She paused and was reading the comments before smiling and continuing. "I'm so glad that you guys think I look cute without make up! And as far as where I am, that's top secret!" She crossed her arms in front of the her face in view of the camera in an X shape. She read more comments. "Obvs, it's not my house, I'm at a friend's house. And no offense guys. I don't want to be stalked by any creepers that may be watching this. I'm visiting a long time friend."
Beyond rubbed his chin while analyzing the live feed. "She keeps looking off to the side. Whoever she's with, is in the room with her."
L nodded and typed with purpose. Misa tilted her head before nervously glancing up. "No! I can't give you guys a tour! This is their private home!" She giggled slightly before leaning into the camera a bit. "My friend can be a tool sometimes." She lifted her eyebrows a couple of times. "But! Can't blame them! If word got out they were my friend, of all people, they'd have to go into hiding for a long time before surfacing again! What a hassle, like coming back from the dead! Uuuuggghhhh!"
Beyond dropped his lighter while attempting to light a cigarette and stared at the screen with wide eyes. Before giving Sayu a panicked expression. "No…" Pushing L out of the way of the computer. "No, no, no." Beyond hacked into Misa's credit card account and backtracked any financial purchases. "It couldn't be… he's supposed to be dead."
Sayu watched Beyond before hearing her name being called. "Anyway! Did you guys see that video my manager posted! Wowie! He's amazing, totes a dreamboat. Sign him as fast as you can Sayu! Man! I would die to be the woman that song is about!" Misa read the chat log before continuing. "Guys, I'd love to keep chatting, but my friend is getting a little impatient, can't blame them. It's a little rude to be on Livestream while at their house. So, since it's the first Thursday, I'll sing you some of my newest song coming out, unfortunately the sound quality isn't going to be the greatest. I totally slipped and didn't realize what day it was before coming over and I failed. Sorry guys." Misa gave a fake tear wipe away from her eye.
"Got it!" Beyond's shout startled everyone in the dimly lit room. "Recently, Misa's credit was ran for a home loan. Although, the loan looks like it's being paid in cash. However…" a page printed, "I got the address."
Sayu scoffed as the sound of he piano filled the speakers. "So what?"
Beyond narrowed his eyes at Sayu. "Misa rents. If she had a quiet home in the suburbs, don't you think she would rather raise her kid there? In a better school district, quieter surroundings and more privacy? And… she's likely there with Light. Who else would be able to access her credit line, other than her lawful husband."
Misa's voice cleared as she began to sing, "There's a song that's inside of my soul. It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again. I'm awake in the infinite cold, but you sing to me over and over again." Sayu watched as Misa sang, a sense of dread set in when the lyrics continued. "I pray to be only yours,I know now, you're my only hope."
The piano continued before she smiled brightly. "And that's your demo! Look out for my newest album coming out, again, I'm sorry that I couldn't stay longer, poor planning on my part! Love you all! See you next week!"
The connection closed and the screen went black. "But… we got the address right?" Sayu questioned timidly.
Beyond smirked and handed the papers to L. "Looks like either you need to trust local PDs or you're going to Japan. Given her status and the percentage that she's with your recent arch nemesis, which I gather to be approximately ninety-two percent, you should go."
L grinned back to the other raven while placing a call to Roger. "Not alone, I'm not. We only have a clue of her whereabouts because of you. You're coming."
