Dick's P.O.V

I've grabbed Firecracker's stuff and I end up getting two surprises. Well, the fact that her phone is intact is actually a pretty small surprise.
The fact that Jason is the one who ends up carrying Firecracker out is, no doubt, a surprise to all of us. He's so gentle with her.
I am concerned over her state though. She's shivering and her breathing is raspy.
"Hold on, Nyx. Just hold on a little longer."
"You really care about her."
He smiles. "I owe her my life." He tells me how they first met... "The least I can do is save her back."
Tim grins. "Well, she'll be happy to now that the Pierces are under arrest."
Bruce nods. "They'll never hurt another foster."
It seems to take far too long but we arrive at the Manor.
"Miss Phoenix!"
"She was a phoenix, Alfred. It was amazing!"
"I'm sure it was, Master Tim. One does not see a firebird everyday."
Soon, she's getting well needed medical attention.
"I've done all I can. It's her fight now."
She fidgets, like she's trying to get away, then winces. She's clearly in pain but I don't think she knows she's safe. She seems so confused, almost like she's lost in fear and her pain.
I try speaking softly to her in Romani but it makes her shivering become more intense. How do we get to her?
"What about that song I inadvertently mentioned?"
It's revealed that we all ended up looking up the lyrics.

Jason's P.O.V
_
I place one hand on Nyx's forehead and smile as I remember her singing Battle Symphony.
Since I already know the Three Days Grace song Bruce is talking about, I start. "You say you feel so down every time I turn around...*"
It still feels like a shock when Bruce joins in. None of us is Adam Gontier but this feels just as good.
Please let this get through to Nyx. Let it help her. She will survive this somehow.

It feels kind of weird to hear Jason singing. Hearing Bruce sing feels even weirder.
It's for Firebird though. That changes things.
It's a nice song too. She'll take this life and make it hers.

The bat in my mind may find this ridiculous but I don't care.
It's for Phoenix. That makes it important.
She'll do what I've had trouble doing.
Take her heart and let it love again.

I do hope that we're getting through to you, Miss Phoenix.
You should have the knowledge that life starts now.

I think she is listening. Her eyelids are fluttering like she's going to open her eyes.
She'll know the truth of what her family is telling her, loud and clear.
Her life starts now.

Ben-Jacks?
What do you mean...Oh.
My family.
They're singing for me. Three Days Grace's Life Starts Now.
It seems to fill me with a gentle warmth. To say they've been waiting for me.
I cough and wheeze a a little then slowly open my eyes as they finish the song. "Hi."
Jason grins then gently hugs me. "Hey, little sis."
I hug him back.
It's good to have a family. Take it from me.
