"SCAAAAARLET!" Erza Knightwalker yelled to her Earthland counterpart, charging ahead on the back of her Legion.
"Knightwalker…" Erza said.
Mystogan, being held up by an Exceed, held out his arm to stop her from doing anything else.
"Do you intend to defy me, the Prince of Edolas? Erza Knightwalker?" Mystogan asked.
"Prince?!" Pretty much everyone from Earthland was surprised to hear what just came from Mystogan's mouth, or more precisely, Edolas Jellal.
"I never thought of you as my son!" An old, gravelly voice reverberated through the sky.
"That's the King's voice!" Coco said.
"You ran away for seven years! How dare you show your face now?! I know you were in Earthland trying to close the Anima, you traitor!"
"Where's that voice coming from?" Zale wondered.
"Your Anima plan has failed." Jellal said to the voice. "There's no reason to fight anymore."
"Reason?" The King questioned. "'Reason to fight', you say? This isn't a 'fight'! This is vengeance against those who would defy the king… Unilateral extermination!"
A large machine stomped forth from the ground.
"Wh-what is that?!" Zale exclaimed at the sight of the monstrosity.
"If you intend to stand against me, you'll all be wiped out!" The voice continued. "You'll vanish without a trace."
"Father…" Jellal muttered.
"I am not your father. I am the King of Edolas! Yes… And if we can put a stop to you here and now, then there will be no one to oppose our Anima plan! We will create another giant lacrima and fuse it with the Exceeds! We can do this over and over!"
The giant machine had the shape of a dragon with knight-like armor and it roared as the King boasted.
"Wahahahaha! There is nothing the King cannot do! The power of the king is absolute!"
Everyone looked in shock at the sight of the monstrous machine.
"The Doroma Anim…" Jellal said. "The Dragon Knight!"
"So it's like some sort of draconic armor?" Zale asked.
"A dragon…" Natsu muttered.
"It DOES kind of look like one..." Happy said.
"It's completely covered with armor coated in Wizard Canceller which makes it immune to any magic!" Coco said. "The King is controlling the Doroma Anim from the inside!"
"My forces, capture the Exceeds!" The King demanded.
"Yes, sire!" The hundreds of soldiers followed his order and they charged toward the Exceeds.
"This is bad!" Jellal shouted. "Run!"
The Exceeds tried to fly away from the royal soldiers.
"Don't let them get away!" Knightwalker ordered.
The royal soldiers shot magic rays at the Exceeds, which turned them into lacrima upon touching it. The Exceeds holding up Gray, Lucy, Erza and Zale dropped them off on top of Coco's Legion before running away with the rest of their friends.
"We have to protect the Exceeds from the royal forces!" Erza said. "Attack Knightwalker and her troops!"
"Right!" Lucy said.
"How do we take down that huge thing, though?" Gray questioned.
"You don't stand a chance against it!" Coco said. "It's immune to magic!"
"If that's the case, then the only thing we can do is fight it and dodge its attacks while we let the Exceeds run away." Zale said. "Right now our priority should be protecting them at all costs."
"Is that really all that big brain of yours can think of right now?" Gray asked.
"If you think it's so stupid, then why don't you come up with something better?" Zale retorted.
"This isn't the time to be arguing!" Lucy shouted at Zale and Gray.
Coco's Legion started to charge at the Doroma Anim.
"Don't let a single human escape!" The King ordered his troops. "They shall all perish here!"
The Doroma Anim began charging the cannon in its mouth.
"DIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!"
The cannon shot out a powerful beam at the Legion, but Edolas Jellal rode his giant owl in between them and summoned a magical barrier that blocked the blast.
"Mystogan!" Erza exclaimed.
"'Mystogan'? Is that the name you used in Earthland, Jellal?"
Jellal looked like he was struggling to keep up the barrier.
"Erza!"Jellal shouted. "Now is your chance! Go!"
"But-" Erza was about to interject.
"Go!" Jellal shouted before focusing back on his barrier. "Three-Layered Magic Circle: Mirror Pool!"
The beam was deflected back at the Doroma Anim and bombarded the machine. However, it appeared the reflected attack did nothing against its armor.
"It's just like you said, Coco." Zale said. "Magic doesn't work against that thing."
The Doroma Anim then fired a cannon blast from its shoulder at Jellal and knocked him out of the sky.
"Mystogan!" Erza shouted.
The King was laughing maniacally from seeing Jellal take the blast. "Falling to the earth! How fitting!" The Doroma Anim's head then turned toward Coco's Legion. "And you're next!"
Suddenly, a meteor of flames came crashing right on top of the Doroma Anim's neck, followed by a shining bolt that stabbed its throat. Then the blue-haired young girl took in a deep breath.
"Sky Dragon… ROAR!"
From her mouth she shot a powerful gust of wind that pushed the Doroma Anim back a bit. After the attacks, Natsu, Gajeel and the girl all stood before the mechanized dragon.
"Holy crap!" Zale exclaimed. "That little girl's badass! Who is she?"
"How dare you refer to Wendy in that manner?!" A white cat similar to Happy came onto the Legion and judgingly pointed at Zale.
"THAT'S Wendy?!" Zale asked.
"Move it, you guys!" Natsu shouted. "You need to go and protect those cats!"
"Will those three be okay?" Lucy wondered.
"No problem." Gray replied. "That's a dragon and they're the only ones who can stop it. And that's because they're Dragon Slayers."
As the Dragon Slayers fought the Doroma Anim, the rest of them rode the Legion toward the hoard of royal soldiers riding their own behemoths.
"The King is certainly ruthless." Zale said. "He must have every single one of his soldiers summoned for this fight."
"The only thing we can do is keep going." Erza said as she pulled out her sword. "If we don't, the Exceed will be wiped out."
"I've been waiting for you, Scarlet!"
A Legion flew right in front of them with Erza Knightwalker standing on the nape of its neck.
"You say you… waited?" Erza asked.
Zale looked down at the ground and noticed several gleams appear. "Dammit!"
"It's a trap!" Gray shouted.
"An ambush?!" Lucy exclaimed.
Several magical missiles struck their Legion in the stomach and it started to fall to the ground with Zale, Gray, Lucy and Coco falling with it.
"Make sure they stay down!" Knightwalker commanded her troops. "Head down to ground level!"
The white cat managed to carry Gray and Coco and Happy was holding up Lucy while Zale was falling.
"ZALE!" Lucy yelled.
After Zale plummeted for 300 feet, something flew in and caught him before he could hit the ground. Zale looked at the rider to see it was Callista Rainbow riding her Legion.
"Callista?" Zale asked. "Why did you-"
"Let's just say… I came to my senses." Callista interrupted. "I knew this whole time what we were doing was wrong, but I didn't have the guts to stand up to it. Seeing you muster up all that strength for what you believe in… I finally got the courage to do the same."
Zale looked out to see his friends land in the forest on the ground. "Callista, can you take me down to my friends?"
Callista nodded and her Legion flew down to follow them. When they finally landed, Zale ran over to his dizzy friends who were lying on the ground from their crash landing.
"Are you guys okay?" Zale asked.
Lucy started angrily smooshing Happy's face. "Why did you fall when you were only carrying me?!"
"It's because you're too heav-" Happy was about to reply.
"You just weren't trying hard enough, right?!" Lucy angrily asked.
"Never mind." Zale said.
"Where's Erza?" Gray asked.
"Fighting Knightwalker." Callista answered as dismounted her Legion.
Gray and Lucy looked like they were ready for a fight when they saw Callista.
"It's okay." Zale said. "She's on our side now."
A magical blast was about to strike Gray and the white cat until they jumped out of the way. Then a battalion of armed soldiers surrounded them.
"Look at them ganging up on us…" Gray said.
"They've got the numbers, that's for sure." Zale said.
The soldiers began firing magical rays at Happy and the white cat. Gray created a gale of ice that knocked down the soldiers in front of him and Zale blew away several soldiers with a torrent of black water. However, the soldiers wouldn't stop shooting at Happy and the white cat as they kept dodging the rays.
"What's with these guys?!" Lucy questioned. "Why are they only attacking Happy and Carla?!"
"We've turned most of the Exceeds into lacrimas." One of the soldiers answered. "Those two are the only ones left. Stop struggling and let us use them for our magic."
"Why would we do that?!" Happy questioned as he pushed Carla out of the way of another ray.
"You're willing to use the lives of the Exceeds just so you can use them as a magic source?" Gray asked as he gritted his teeth. "Is that what the humans of this world do?!"
Gray created a series of ice spikes at the soldiers and trapped some of them in it.
"Well you asswipes aren't getting your hands on my friends!"
Zale, Gray, Lucy with Loke, Coco and Callista fought off the royal soldiers while protecting Happy and Carla. For a while, they just kept fending them off until the soldiers started firing magic bullets at them. A stray bullet was about to hit Happy, but Carla pushed him out of the way and took the hit.
"CARLA!" Happy screamed.
"Oh no!" The soldier who fired the shot said. "I hit an Exceed!"
"You idiot!" Another soldier yelled at him. "We need them alive to use their magic!"
Lucy then fell to the ground in exhaustion and Legion came out to join the fight.
*This isn't good.* Zale thought as he examined the situation. *We're running low on magic energy and our morale is getting dangerously low.*
Zale then saw his friends and allies get pelted with magic bullets and knocked to the ground.
*I'm not going to give up! I need to keep fighting! The rest of the guild's waiting for us! Juvia is waiting for me!*
Suddenly, a sprout popped out of the ground and turned into a vine that wrapped itself around the pack of Legion and ensnared them. The sprout kept growing until it became a tree with a door in front of it and a flag with Fairy Tail's emblem on it.
"What-!" Zale was about to say.
From the tree came a mob of familiar-looking faces charge at the royal soldiers, led by what appeared to be Lucy with different clothes.
"Sorry we're late, Earth-Lucy." 'Lucy' said.
"Edo-Lucy!" Lucy smiled.
"So… THIS is the Edolas Fairy Tail?" Zale asked.
As Zale looked at the Edolas Fairy Tail, he saw just how different they were from their Earthland counterparts. Edolas Gray wore a ton of coats over himself, Edolas Natsu was incredibly timid, Edolas Lucy was abrasive and sadistic, Edolas Elfman was a wimp, but what really took him by surprise were the Edolas versions of himself and Juvia.
"I don't have to think!" Edolas Zale shouted as he charged at a group of royal soldiers and bulldozed through them. "It's just not my style!"
Edolas Zale looked very similar to his Earthland version, only he wore a black vest that showed off his toned body and jeans. His charge led him to the Edolas Juvia, who had locked two soldiers in her arms.
"Why can't you be that rough on me?" Edolas Zale asked.
"This isn't the time for your perverted fantasies!" Edolas Juvia shouted.
Zale just blankly looked at the two like he just witnessed the strangest sight he's ever seen in his life.
"… What the hell am I looking at?"
After several more minutes of fighting, strange streams of light began to get sucked into the sky and the magic weapons everyone was using started to cease their functions. Most of them started to panic from the sudden loss in magic.
"What's happening?" Zale wondered as he looked into the sky.
Zale, along with Gray, Lucy, Happy and Carla started to float into the sky with the light.
"The anima is sucking us back to Earthland!" Carla said.
"I get it…" Lucy said. "That anima is sucking ALL the magic out of Edolas… So it's trying to suck us out, too."
"So you're saying all the magic is getting sucked out of our world?" One of the Edolas Fairy Tail wizards asked.
Zale looked at them for a moment. "You don't need it. In Earthland, magic isn't what makes a guild. You're all friends. THAT makes a guild."
As they were floating higher and higher, Zale saw that they weren't the only ones being sucked by the anima; the Exceeds were getting pulled into it as well.
*I guess it makes sense they'd get sucked in with us.* Zale thought. *Callista did say that they're the only organisms that can use magic in Edolas. Wait, Callista!*
Zale looked to where he saw Callista smile as she watched him return to Earthland and he smiled back.
"It was a pleasure… Zale Aeon." Callista said.
Zale's attention was then brought to his Edolas counterpart and Edo-Juvia.
*… I almost lost all of my friends today. I could lose them at any moment… I need to take advantage of the time we currently have. When I get back home… I'm going to ask Juvia out on a date.*
A blinding light enveloped them as they got sucked into the anima and returned to Earthland.
A/N: That's the end of the chapter! I hope you all enjoyed it! I should probably tell you something before I start the next chapter. I was originally intending to make an OCxWendy story, but I don't want to have to write all of this again so I'm just going to merge it with this story. However, that's not going to take focus away from Zuvia. So if you're all okay with it, the next chapters will be an arc that will be the start of it. Anyway, stay tuned for next time!
