When Natsu was finished beating the other man down, he turned to Lucy with a grimace. He kneeled down to Kageyama and lifted his body back up, leaning him against the wall. Lucy ran up to the hurt man and checked his wound. It didn't seem life threatening, but if they didn't get him fixed up, it might be. She ripped cloth around her skirt and managed to fit it around Kageyama's chest, tightening it. He groaned and shut his eyes tightly.
Just then, Erza and Gray came running in. Erza gasped upon seeing Kageyama in his state. She grabbed him by the arms and shook him violently. "Dammit! Wake up!" Lucy looked back and forth between Gray and Erza. Why did Erza suddenly care about the mage? Natsu crossed his arms and focused his attention on Erza.
"What's going on? Why do you need this guy?" She turned to him with a glare.
"There is a huge wind barrier around the station that Erigor created and this man is the only one who can lift the spell. Which is probably why Erigor had his men come after him and kill him. Though it seems you got to the other man first, Natsu." Lucy furrowed her brows at Erza's explanation.
"Why did he do that? To keep us in? But why?" Lucy pondered. Erza growled through clenched teeth at the questions. Lucy assumed she must knew something everyone else didn't.
"Erigor wasn't aiming for Onibus Station as all. He really wanted to take the flute and play it at the guild master's meeting. He could kill master! Dammit! He played us for fools" Erza ground out. Lucy gasped and put a hand to her lips in surprise. At this rate, the guild masters could already be dead right now.
"Then we need to hurry and find a plan to get the hell out of here!" Natsu shouted, running towards the entrance of the trains station. He only stopped when he noticed the giant wall of wind blocking him from leaving. Natsu walked up to it, his vest flapping wildly from the sheer force. He tried to touch it, but retracted swiftly after it cut him. "What if we just use brute force?" Natsu asked while he tried putting his hand through again. Only to once again, take his hand away from the pain.
"I tried." Erza pointed too her arm, which was cut up by the wind. Gray ran to her and checked her wound after seeing it, he wanted to make sure she was okay. Natsu huffed and ran towards it to break it. Maybe if he was fast enough, it wouldn't hurt as bad. Lucy jogged up next to him and pulled him back. But he ignored her and pushed out of her grip, running against it again, trying to break through. Having had enough, Lucy grabbed him by the elbow and held him tightly to her, using all her strength to keep him in position.
"If you do this any further, you'll be shred to pieces! Just stop!" The fire mage breathed heavily while he glared at the wind tornado surrounding the building. Lucy's grip tightened and she gave Natsu a firm expression, telling him he wasn't going anywhere at the moment. He turned his head back to her as he stared. He noticed the small flush in her face. "What?" She asked timidly.
"What if one of your keys can get us out!" Natsu offered. Everyone's eyes were on him. Lucy let him go and searched through her set of gold and silver keys. She sighed and looked at him with a shrug of her shoulders.
"I don't think I have anything spirit that can break through." She looked down to the ground, disappointed.
"Lucy! That's what I've been meaning to tell you all this time!" Happy announced pretty loudly. He held up a gold zodiac key and went to hand it to her.
"Virgo's key! How'd you get that!" Lucy gasped, bending down to stretch out the cat's cheeks. "You don't ever steal things from people, you sneaky little feline!" He looked up to her with watery eyes and looked down at the key.
"But Virgo gave it to me since her and Everlue's contract broke" He answered. Lucy squeaked and took the key sheepishly, apologizing to the cat for assuming. He huffed and pulled away playfully when she tried to pat his head.
"This is perfect. We might just get out of here yet." She grinned.
"Whats all this about?" Gray asked. Natsu explained to both Gray and Erza that when they took their first job, they met a zodiac spirit named Virgo. That she was a huge maid that worked for their enemy. But most importantly, she can dig through the ground. Lucy grabbed the key and held it out in front if her, calling out to Virgo. A beautiful woman with pink hair popped out.
"Y-You're Virgo?" Lucy asked, astonished.
"Oh yes, I changed my appearance to suit my mistress."
"Don't call me that." Lucy murmured, looking away from the kind spirit.
"Then princess?"
"Yeah, I like that!" Lucy smiled sheepishly at Virgo and looked towards the wind barrier. "By the way, can we work out the contract later?"
"Yes, princess" Virgo dug through the ground, creating a tunnel to outside the wind barrier. While the others began to climb down, Natsu sighed and went back for Kageyama. He pulled the injured man on his back and positioned him comfortably. Gray noticed this and gave Natsu a small glare.
"What are you doing?" Gray asked.
"I'd feel guilty if I left him behind." Natsu mumbled. They all climbed outside the barrier. Natsu set Kageyama down and had Happy fly him out of there, using his max speed. With his heightened sight, he noticed Erigor in the distance. Holding up his fist, he punched the wind mage across the face when Hapoy got close enough. Both fell on the train tracks, rolling painfully as they did.
"Ow...Natsu, you're on your own. I hurt my wings." Happy whined, letting go of the pink haired man. Natsu nodded and made sure Happy made it safe to the sidelines. Erigor picked himself up and wiped his bloody lip.
"How dare you, insolent child!" Natsu ignored the insult and went to punch the man again, only to be thrown off the train tracks by his wind magic. Natsu choked, falling through the air. He knew Happy couldn't save him this time. He briefly thought about the time Macao told him about how he could control his flames, make them solid, much like Bora did when he flew away using his fire.
Natsu thought for a moment. How could he do that when he was under so much pressure. He could see the large rocks below him. Natsu panicked and let fire seep from his body. This needed to work! He needed to live!
Just then, his fire blasted him up in the sky, and he landed harshly back on the tracks. "Natsu!" He could hear Happy yell in relief. Natsu grinned, he couldn't believe he just did that. Erigor looked pretty surprised, but his expression soon turned cold.
"Alright, I'll admit that was impressive, but let's see how you do against my wind armor!" Erigor laughed, covering his whole body in a tight air trap. Natsu was sure if he tried even touching him, his arm would come clean off. This angered the fire mage, and for just a split second, Erigor's wind seemed to get weaker and even changed direction. Though only Happy noticed this.
He realized that the only way Natsu could defeat Erigor was by getting angry and using his hot flames to get the wind mage's armor to die out. Happy snickered and looked to Natsu with an unimpressed expression. "Hey Natsu, you stink! Gray would have beaten the guy already." Natsu froze in shock for a moment. Then an impressive wave of heat surrounded the pyro.
"What did you say!" He screamed, lifting the tracks in pure anger. The flames around him grew bigger, glaring at Erigor. The wind mage furrowed his brows, he could feel his wind getting weaker. Natsu flew up and punched Erigor across the face once more, except this time, much harder. Teeth and blood spit out of Erigor's mouth as he was shot to the ground. Once he hit land, he was immediately knocked out.
"Good job, buddy!" Happy said happily, hugging in Natsu. The fire mage only scoffed.
"Yeah, no thanks to you. And what was that back there, how could you say that!"
"Do you even remember what I said?"
"Something about me not being able to beat Erza or something."
"See, you don't even remember!"
Natsu and Happy waited until the others had driven up to them on the train track. Erza came out and walked right beside Natsu, who was standing next to the unconcious man. Gray ran next Erza and also noticed the same man and the smug expression on Natsu's face. Stumbling out of the car was a sick Lucy being carried by the white flying cat.
"Wow, Natsu. Impressive." Lucy said with a weak smile. She was definitely starting to feel better after getting out of the death mobile. Especially with Erza driving. She noticed something crawling in the corner of her eye and glared at what was moving. "What are you doing?" She asked darkly while she walked up to Kageyama, who was reaching for the flute.
"N-Nothing!" He said, throwing the flute to Lucy's feet. She picked it up and handed it to Erza.
"Let's go" They all followed Lucy to the master's meeting when they saw Makarov. Erza handed him the flute and took Kageyama to the infirmary. Afterwards, they went back to master. Then, out of nowhere, the flute started to glow. Master dropped it and backed up. A giant wood like demon transformed from the flute and began to laugh at his release.
"I will consume every soul here! I'm free!" The demon announced as he looked at the group of humans gathered around the guild masters meeting building.
"Do souls taste good?" Natsy whisterped over to Gray.
"How the hell should I know?!" Gray answered back.
"How did this happen? How can flute become a demon?" Lucy asked while she gripped onto her keys. A man stepped forward to answer her question. He had a spiked collar and sunglasses on. He turned to Lucy and began to answer her questions.
"This particular demon is from the book of Zeref it seems. He's a dark mage from around four hundred years ago, and he created hundreds of demons that still roam the land today. Honestly I haven't seen such a demon in a very long time." The man said, fixing his sunglasses. Lucy nodded and turned back to the demon with a determined smirk. She looked at Erza and Gray, then turned to her right to look at Natsu. They nodded all simultaneously and got into a fighting position.
Springing up, Gray took his first shot to its face, using his ice lance to try and stab the demon in the face. Erza fell to it's lower half and cut open the his legs. Though he was a lot tougher than he looked. He roared and shot a blast over to the guild masters before even one could realize what was going on. Luckily, Gray was able to use an ice shield to deflect the attack and protect the others.
Lucy and Natsu aimed for the heart, using a roar much like they did with the Vulcan back at Mt. Hakobe. Blasting straight through the demon's chest, the blast disappeared once Natsu and Lucy closed their mouths. They fell back, landing roughly into a tree branch. The flute monster screeched and tried to play his death magic.
"I've had enough of you brats. Die!" But once he tried to whistle a death tune, he realized just how much damage he took. The sounds just went through the multiple holes team Natsu made. The demon gasped at the own noise that came out of his mouth and dropped to the ground, slowly disappearing into the air. Lucy grinned as the last of him dissipated, cheers erupting from everyone in the vicinity.
"We did it!" Natsu cackled.
"Wow I didn't know how powerful you all are!" Master Bob came and hugged both Natsu and Gray once everyone came back to the group. Natsu and Gray looked away from the smiling man, they were obviously very uncomfortable. Lucy and Erza only giggled.
"You four just destroyed half the town! What am I going to do!" Master sobbed, already thinking about the bill he was going to receive. Master Bob giggled at his friend's reaction and bent down to rub Makarov's back to try and sooth his pain.
"We are so sorry master, please forgive us!" Erza apologized, running after master with Gray. following. Natsu laughed along with everyone else. He noticed Lucy's peaceful smile and gave her a grin of his own.
"C'mon Luce, let's go!" She giggled as he grabbed her hand to catch up with the others. She squeezed his hand and let him drag her to where Erza and Gray were. Happy and Marie yelling from behind them, telling them wait for them.
"Yeah!" The blonde laughed. Once they were all back at the guild, having to walk after losing the magic mobile and not being able to ride the train after what happened in Onibus station, they sat at the guild. All of them were pretty tired after the long day they had.
"What a day!" She sighed happily. She hadn't had that much fun in a while. She opened her arms for Marie to climb in. Once Marie was settled, Lucy pet the cat softly while she purred happily in her lap. Lucy yawned, wanting to go home. "Come on, guys, let's go home. I need some sleep." They all smiled and walked back to their house after waving goodbye to Erza and Gray.
Once they arrived at the little cottage, it was sunset. Lucy set down Marie and collapsed onto her hammock. Natsu grinned once he heard her soft snoring. Shaking his head, he draped a blanket over the celestial mage and sighed heavily. His muscles were screaming for him to lie down and give himself a break.
Complying to his body, he fell backwards into his own bed. It swung back and forth while he got comfortable. Sitting up real quick, he threw off his vest and let it fall to the ground. He turned to his side and felt his eyes growing heavy. Happy and Marie slept soundly on the couch. It was quiet and peaceful.
It was perfect.
...
Lucy woke up to bright light shining into her eyes. Groaning in annoyance, she turned over and tried to go back to sleep. But it seemed her body had other plans. She laid in the hammock for about an hour, trying to sleep. But she just didn't feel tired anymore. Sighing, she sat up and folded her blanket.
She took this time to take a long shower. Slipping on her blue Heart Kreuz outfit, she checked herself out in the mirror. She had tons of scratches from her fight, and she could tell she was forming a bruise on her forehead. She ignored her injured face and went to brush her hair and teeth finally putting it up into a side ponytail.
Stepping out, she screamed loudly and threw the nearest thing she could, which was a cup, at the intruders. Fortunately it was only Gray and Erza, but unfortunately for Gray, the cup his head forehead pretty hard. She yelled out and held his throbbing head, a headache starting to form. In all this commotion, Natsu had woke up and sat up quickly. Thinking Lucy was in danger.
"Lucy! What the hell was that for?!" Gray ground out, still holding his reddened forehead.
"You don't just sneak up on a person like that! I swear Fairy Tail mages have no sense of privacy." Lucy growled. Marie and Happy woke up, rubbing their eyes tiredly as they came into the bedroom. Marie was the first to speak up, yawning as she did so.
"What is going on? Lucy, did you hurt someone?" Marie asked, planting her hands on her hips. Her tail swishing in irritation.
"Why do always assume I hurt people!?"
"Because you always do." Marie deadpanned. Natsu, on the other hand, swung his legs over the hammock and covered his ears.
"Jeez Lucy, can you get any louder in the morning?"
"Shut up pyro! All of you keep picking on me and you still won't tell me why you're here!" Erza took a step forward and smile at both Natsu and Lucy.
"Well, we wanted to take a mission with all of you. We decided to come over and tell you before you arrived at the guild. We assumed you wanted to know before we just sprung it on you at the guild. I apologize if we were rude, you may hit me if you wish." Erza said humbly, holding out her arm. Lucy held her hands up as if she were to surrender.
"It's fine Erza. I'm not gonna hit ya. Anyway, I appreciate the thought. I'm ready to go if everyone else is?" Lucy looked around the room at Natsu who grabbed his vest and put it on. He nodded and gave Lucy a thumbs up. They all walked out the cottage doors and into the guild. Lucy made her way to the bar, informing team Natsu she wanted a drink before they picked out a mission.
Just as Lucy was going to take a sip of her milkshake, she began to feel sleepy. Lucy laid her head down in an attempt to rest her eyes, overhearing Mira say something.
"You okay master?"
"Just a bit sleepy." He answered. A man then came in, putting everyone except Makarov to sleep. He silently took a mission and began to walk out of the guild when Makarov spoke up. "Do you have to do this every time you come in?" The man had his face covered up to his nose and wore a hat, almost completely sealing away his face. The man's eyes flickered over to Erza for a moment before back to Makarov.
"Yes." And he left. Lucy then woke up and looked around to see everyone waking up too. She rubbed her eyes.
"What happened?" Lucy mumbled.
"Mytogan" Natsu said, going up to Mira to order breakfast. "That jerk always puts us to sleep. He doesnt want us to his stupid face. Like anyone would want to." Natsu scoffed, stuffing his face in fire chicken.
"No one has ever seen him except master!" Lucy heard a guild member yell out.
"That's not true! I've seen him too!" Lucy looked up to see a blonde guy on the second floor, smirking down on them. Lucy pursed her lips and glared up at the man. He even smelt like trouble.
"Laxus..."
