Hello all my dearest friends and readers! This idea came up as I was working on another story (don't you hate when that happens?) Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Disclaimer: I own nothing related to Bendy And The Ink Machine…

It's Dark And It's Cold

All his life, Thomas Connor had worked in a lot of different buildings and being tasked with many different projects. If something was broken or malfunctioning, he was always the first to be called. From broken tiles to moldy pipes, Thomas was the definition of a repairman.

But those were just houses and apartments…places that were normal.

Joey Drew Studios on the other hand, was a completely different story.

. . .

Every time he was called in, Thomas tried to find something normal about the building…all to no avail. Basically, everything was a hazard. Floors always creaked very loudly and became loose. The walls and ceilings were always falling apart. The lights would flicker and die, vents were never giving off the air that was needed for the appropriate weather.

But all that was nothing compared to the pipes. Since they were made out of the cheapest metal possible and poorly connected, Thomas would spend a good amount of time fixing the leaks, patching up the holes, and tightening everything that was loose. Although Thomas worked on everything to where he could do nothing more, Joey Drew wanted perfection…pure, shiny, perfection.

Despite his headaches and sore muscles, Thomas was able to get his boss to understand that he could only do so much on each repair.

Then he would receive his pay.

Thomas would return home after several days of repairs covered in blood, sweat, dirt, and ink, Thick, black, ink.

It was always running through each and every one of the studio's pipes, making bigger and bigger messes when one of the pipes burst.

The ink was a reminder of where he worked. Always staining his shirt, pants, and shoes. Thomas would spend hours trying to wash it out, but like superglue, it stayed put.

Joey Drew Studios definitely wasn't normal. After just a few months, Thomas swore to himself that he would no longer do anymore repair jobs for "Mr. Joey Drew."

. . .

But times were tough and Thomas needed to go back. He needed the money, so he had no choice.

Day after day, week after week, something in the studio needed repairing. When it wasn't the pipes, floor, or walls, it was the elevator that was constantly breaking down which made Thomas decide to take the stairs. He knew at some point it was eventually going to crash and kill someone and he wanted to make sure that he wasn't going to be that person.

Eventually, Thomas became the studio's unofficial repairman, even though he was contracted with GENT. Joey Drew had made several attempts to get Thomas to sign a contract that would give him a job at Joey Drew Studios, but would still allow him to work with GENT.

Thomas knew that at some point his usual clients would tire of him and when that happens, he would be in quite a deep hole. Since Joey Drew Studios was giving him constant work with decent pay, and despite the job being messy and exhausting, he decided to do it.

With a quick flick of a pen and a smirk from Joey Drew, Thomas Connor had become the official repairman of Joey Drew Studios…unsure if he made the right decision.
