All three mages stepped into the amusement park, at awe from the use of colors and the endless amounts of attractions. Their astonishment was cut off short by a man riding on the carousel. He smirked towards the three while the horse he was on spun around. Lucy subconsciously grabbed at her keys. But her attention was pulled to something behind them.
"N-Natsu watch out!" She screamed. Natsu blinked down at her in his arms, before turning around. With a gasp, he managed to escape the giant galleon that swung their way. Along with him was Gray who noticed the ship as well. Unfortunately, the swift movement made Natsu stumble over and land on his back, Lucy tumbling on top of him. She rubbed her head and looked up at Natsu to glare at him.
...Until she noticed their position. She was sprawled on top of him, her head laying on his chest while her legs tangled with his. His arms slid to her waist so that he could keep her from moving when he fell. She felt her face go red as she stumbled off of him. He sat up and glared up at the man controlling the galleon.
The two men introduced themselves as Hughes and Sugar Boy. They seemed pretty smug, despite being outnumbered three to two. Lucy shook her head and grabbed the hand that was outstretched for her. Natsu hauled her to her feet. Lucy lifted her injured leg, slightly hopping in place as she waited for either enemy to attack.
"Sugar Boy?" Hughes said, looking over to his comrade who was still seated on the plastic horse which was on the ground, despite the carousel being destroyed in the galleon attack.
"Hmm?" Sugar Boy hummed.
"Will you do the honors?" Hughes smirked. Lucy turned to Sugar Boy expectantly. The man hummed again and grabbed a sword from seemingly nowhere. He touched the floor, liquefying it. Lucy gaped as her and Gray's feet began to sink into the floor. Natsu would of been in the same boat as the two, but he ran after Hughes, who ran away just in time.
"What the hell is this!?" Gray growled. He tried stepping out of the floor, but it made him sink further in.
"It's like quicksand!" Lucy panicked. The floor was already to their chest. They could be sucked up in seconds at this rate. She then was periodically distracted by a rollercoaster being created from thin air above them. And of all things, Natsu in the front seat. He looked pathetic.
Gray darted between Natsu and Lucy. Seeing this, Lucy became a bit nervous. That look in his eye meant he had a plan. One she was sure not to like. He grabbed her wrist and looked her deep in the eyes. "Do you trust me?" He asked her.
"Ye-Yeah, but what do you plan on doing?" She was given no answer. The grip on her arm tightened as she slowly felt herself being pulled from the floor. A squeak escaped her lips at last minute as she was suddenly flung in the air. She was hurling right towards Natsu.
"Forgive me Lucy!" Gray called to her. If she had regular hearing, she wouldn't have been able to hear him over her blood curdling scream. Once she had a grip on the hell coaster that dragged Natsu through the air, she peered down at Gray who pulled himself out of the floor with ice grappling hooks. She couldn't stop herself from glaring at him as he ran after Sugar Boy.
"Oh wow this got, like, ten times better!" Hughes laughed. Lucy held a hand over her mouth to try and stop the vomit threatening to seep out. She tugged hopelessly on Natsu restraints. They wouldn't budge. Lucy groaned and jumped in front of Natsu, holding desperately to his vest to not fall off.
She slapped him across the face to wake him out of his motion sickness trance. He managed to tilt his head towards her, his eyes meeting hers. She leaned into his face. "Natsu you need to snap out of it. We need to get out out of these restraints." She screamed.
"Lucy...I can't..." He gurgled. Just as she was going to yell in his face again, the hell coaster suddenly dipped down. Lucy swallowed a scream as she wrapped her arms around Natsu. The rollercoaster finally stopped when the cart splashed into the pond that was conveniently placed there. Lucy lifted her body from the water and spit out some water that got trapped inside her mouth.
"Oh man...that's like totally a keeper!" Hughes laughed hysterically, pointing a finger to a lacrima screen that had Natsu's sickly face and Lucy's terrified face plastered on it. Lucy pursed her lips and glared at Hughes. Why was he the most annoying villain she had ever faced? Natsu stood up and rubbed his spinning head. His mouth filled with bile for a moment, forcing him to swallow it back down.
"Was that really necessary?" Lucy sighed, smoothing down her wet and now frizzy hair.
"Uh, duh. Don't you get it yet? If magic disappeared, we wouldn't have all of this? We would have to give up...all this fun!" Hughes smiled, gesturing to the many rides and attractions. Natsu clenched his fist and glared at Hughes.
"So while your people are being starved of magic, the king just wastes all this magic on useless amusement parks? Don't you people get it!? Our friends are going to become magic just so you can have a rollercoaster? Lives are at stake!" Natsu growled, lighting his fist on fire. Lucy's eyes widened for a mere second, before softening. She nodded and turned to Hughes, lighting her own hand up in her magic.
"Fire dragon-"
"Celestial dragon-"
"Iron fist!"
Natsu and Lucy jumped up and attempted to punch Hughes across the face at the same time. But their fists collided with something bigger instead. Lucy and Natsu jumped back to see what they hit. It..was a monster!? Frankenstein's monster to be exact. He moaned down at the two, his hand then lifting to slam down on them. Luckily, both of them dodged.
Lucy stumbled back, the pain in her ankle coming back. She fell back into the water and held her pulsing leg. She closed her eyes tightly to try and shut out the pain. Hughes saw this and laughed, probably thinking the monster actually hit her. She bit her lip, blood seeping from her teeth.
"You like them? These are monsters from our very own monster academy. Now, monsters! Like, teach em a lesson!" Said monsters charged for the two, but Lucy couldn't move. Natsu saw this and acted fast. Picking her up with ease and hauling her over his shoulders, he began to run from the giant figures who chased them. Somehow, to Natsu, this felt like déjà vu. Memories of the Oracion Seis mission came to him.
He carried Lucy like this there too. And she had a sore ankle then as well. He would of laughed if he wasn't running for his life. Lucy sure was clumsy. He turned down a hallway, watching as the monsters ran right passed them. He let out a sigh of relief.
"Thanks for saving me back there." A meek voice muttered behind him. He nodded his head and grabbed her waist, setting her down on the floor. He grabbed her arm and wrapped it around his neck, so that he could help her move. But it was a pretty awkward position, what with her being significantly shorter than him.
"We need a plan. He has the upper hand right now so we need hide and figure all of this out." She explained. Natsu nodded wordlessly and looked around the area they were in. Something looked out of place though. A coffin, just sitting in the middle of the room. He led them towards it and gazed at it curiously.
"What do you think it does?" Natsu asked, unexpectedly eager. Lucy rolled her eyes.
"Why don't you go in and find out?" She muttered, but he heard her pretty easily. His eyes traveled down to the side of the box, to see a dial. A sneaky smile climed to his lips. He unwrapped Lucy's arm from his neck, and opened the door quickly, pushing her in and shutting it against. In an angry fit, Lucy banged on the door.
"Let me out you idiot. What if this kills me!?"
"We won't know if we don't try!" Natsu laughed, spinning the dial. The coffin door popped open to reveal Lucy in a genie costume. She looked down at her outfit and felt her eyes widen and her skin go pink.
"Natsu you idiot, change me back!"
"But c'mon, you look cute!"
Steam left her ears as her face became a cherry red. "I don't care! Change me back you jerk!"
This time he rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, fine." She stood angrily in the coffin, waiting for him to spin the dial again. But each time he did, she came out with another outfit. She groaned, where exactly do the other outfits go and how do new ones appear on her body? The last outfit that appeared was a green bikini top with the same color bottoms. That's when an idea struck Natsu.
"Lucy I just thought of something we could try!" Natsu smiled. Lucy, giving up on the idea of getting her original clothes back, nodded. A sinister smile crossed his lips for a moment, startling Lucy.
"I'm not going to like it am I?" The blonde sighed. Natsu shared the plan with her, explaining her part in it. A blank expression crossed Lucy for a moment, before that same cherry red blush came back full force.
"No way! I will not do that!" She crossed her arms and looked away from Natsu.
"Oh come on Lucy, you've done it before right?" Natsu pushed. Lucy turned back to him with a glare.
"Yeah, like once! And it was hardly a success! I am not embarrassing myself again!" Lucy argued. She couldn't believe he asked her to seduce Hughes! Like it was going to work, she was almost one hundred percent sure Hughes had zero interest in women at the moment.
"C'mon Lucy, just long enough for me to knock him out. You don't even gotta seduce him! Just distract." The fire mage explained to her. Lucy hummed in thought. She supposed if all she was doing was distracting him, it would be fine.
"Fine, but this is a one time thing, got it!" Natsu nodded and helped hed get into position. Natsu crouched behind a pillar and watched as Lucy limped back and forth on the ledge he set her up on. Lucy desperately tried to think of something that would distract someone like Hughes. And unfortunately, he wasn't stupid. He would probably tell she was trying to distract him.
She heard unfamiliar footsteps. Standing there as still as a stone, she waited until he noticed her. He looked up at her quizzically, waiting her her to do or say anything. She then got an idea. Grabbing Plue's key, she called on him. The small snowman dog appeared before Hughes, dancing.
Miraculously it worked. "Wow, what a weird exceed!" Hughes laughed, poking Plue on the tip of his nose. Plue raised up his hand and mumbled something incoherent. Hughes was so distracted that he didn't even notice Lucy standing there triumphantly. The blonde locked eyes with Natsu, winking at him.
Nodding, he stepped out from behind the pillar and swiftly punched the back of Hughes head. Knocking him out. "Wow," Natsu smiled. "It's pretty easy to take someone out when you do it the scummy way!" He laughed. Lucy sighed and allowed Plue back into the celestial spirit world.
But the peace was short lived. Lucy gasped from behind Natsu and tugged on the back of his vest. "Natsu I think it's time for us to go!" Natsu furrowed his brows and looked behind them, eyebrows shooting upwards when he saw the same group of monsters run after them.
"Shit! I thought that if Hughes wasn't conscious, he wouldn't be able to control the monsters!" Natsu screamed. He picked up Lucy and ran as fast as he could away from the beasts. "Dammit Lucy, we need to find Wendy soon because I don't know how much longer I can carry you everywhere. You're heavy!"
"Shut up stupid Natsu! I didn't ask for you to carry me!" She growled. Crossing her arms, she bounced in his grip as he ran. Thought the bouncing seized when he slowed down. It seemed the monsters disappear when you get so far from their academy. Both mages sighed in relief and noticed their surroundings.
They were in another part of the amusement park. They turned on instinct when they heard the sound of running. Ahead of them was a small girl. Her feet were charred and she held a huge key to her chest as she cried. And behind her, was a small man that chased after her. Natsu seemed to immediately recognize him, because his eyes narrowed and his hold on Lucy tightened.
"Get back here Coco!" The old man shouted.
"No I won't! Not if you're going to kill Lily!" The girl, Coco, cried. she fell to her knees, right in front of Natsu and Lucy. Lucy wiggled out of Natsu's hold so he set her down. Lucy bent down towards the little girl while Natsu stared at the man who stopped his running.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asked the small girl. Coco looked up at the blonde and instinctively held the giant key closer to herself. Lucy noticed her burnt feet and frowned. she certainly knew how the little girl felt at the moment. "Don't worry, we're here to help. We won't let that man do anything to you."
Coco nodded and scooted behind Lucy who grabbed at her whip. Natsu lit up in fire and held an arm in front of Lucy. The blonde hummed in annoyance and tilted her head up at Natsu who didn't bother to look at her. "Let me have him Lucy." Natsu mumbled.
"Not this again Natsu. I get you want a real fight but I'm here for a reason. I'm going to fight side by side with you!" She then turned to Coco who seemed scared out of her mind. "Coco is it?" The little girl turned her attention to Lucy. "If you want to save your friend Lily then trust me, okay? We can keep that key of yours safe." The girl nodded slowly and smiled a bit. She was about to hand the key to Lucy, when it was ripped out of her grip by Sugar Boy. And Gray hot on his trail.
"I got Sugar Boy you guys!" Gray shouted offhandedly, keeping his pace.
"Make sure you get that key Gray!" Lucy yelled after him. Gray nodded and continued to chase after Sugar Boy, who slid on his armor like a sled. Lucy turned back to Natsu, who wasn't in front of her anymore. He was already fighting Byro without her! She growled and made sure Coco stayed put, running after Natsu and Byro.
She must of missed a whole lot, because Byro was suddenly drinking a potion and becoming a huge octopus. Lucy used the whip that Virgo had redesigned for her earlier and wrapped it around one of his tentacles. She had a plan in mind. Jumping from tentacle to tentacle, she made sure to tie her whip around each one. Natsu was busy with Byro up close, while Lucy did the outer work on his body.
She grinned proudly when she swung to the ground. Looking up at her handiwork, she found that each of Byro's tentacles were twisted together and tied by her whip. Natsu peered down at her and smirked.
"Thanks Luce!" Natsu laughed. Her heart jumped at his grin and the use of his nickname for her. The combination of the two could seriously get her worked up. Natsu made quick work of Byro, knocking the octopus out cold. Natsu jumped down beside Lucy and held a thumbs up to her. She smiled softly at him.
"Thank you..." Coco muttered to the two, who turned back to her. "I hope your friend will help my friend..." She sighed. Lucy let out a breath through her nose and she bent down to Coco. Lucy couldn't help but compare the little girl to Wendy. They were both so nice.
"Of course he will. Fairy Tail mages don't lose." Lucy told her, patting the girl's head affectionately. Natsu nodded along with her and beamed down at Coco. Coco then lit up and clapped her hands in excitement.
"I have an idea!" She laughed. She then stuck her fingers in her mouth and whistled high pitched. Natsu and Lucy covered their ears in an attempt to drown out the sound that already had their ears ringing. Once she was done, she looked at the two of them and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry." Then, as if on cue, a giant creature came from out of nowhere. It landed in front of Coco. She climbed on its back and looked at Natsu and Lucy expectantly
"What's going on?"
"This is my pet Legion. He'll help is get around a lot easier. I want to save Lily, and if helping you does that, than count me in!" Coco said in determination. Lucy and Natsu gave her the same look and climbed on the Legion. But their serious expression was lost when it started moving.
"Are you okay?" Coco asked the two of them, seeing as they were sprawled on the beast in a sickly manner.
"Motion sickness." Lucy groaned, gripping onto the Legion tighter as she felt vomit rise to the roof of her mouth. She swallowed it reluctantly. Coco cringed and looked away from the two. She felt a sense of guilt from what she saw. Then a thought came to the girl's mind.
"What about that friend of yours? Will he be okay?" Coco asked.
"He'll be fine. He may not...have our sense of smell, but he'll be able to find us easily." Lucy muttered out.
