Hey all! So I'm on Christmas break and this is a day-late-Christmas present to you guys! :) lol I wanted to make it Christmas themed but I felt that it would mess up the story line so, here's a little blurb about Steve and Peggy's grandkids. I hope you guys enjoy! Let me know what you think of it! Sorry for the shortness but hopefully I'll be able to write more later. The Winter Soldier is approaching fast so get ready! ;) Anyways, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Thanks for reading! :D

"I think it's Violet in the kitchen with a candlestick," Samantha announced confidently.

"Nope, I have the candlestick," Robert grinned.

"And I have the kitchen," Steve added. Samantha sighed dramatically and placed her chin in her head.

"I never win at this game," she grumbled.

"You promised not to whine," Robert kindly reminded her. She shot him a glare but sat up in her seat. Steve chuckled at the children's antics. He was watching Peggy's grandkids while Margret, their mother, ran some errands. They had been enjoying a lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup when Margaret realized she'd left her purse at the nursing home. She'd apologized profusely to Steve for having to leave but she couldn't leave her purse, which had her wallet, there at the home. Steve insisted she went to get it and that he'd watch the kids. Their eyes had lit up and as soon as they're mother left, they dragged Steve onto the couch and started asking him questions.

"What was it like being frozen?"

"What's the weirdest thing since waking up?"

"Was Thor really cool?"

"Was the Hulk scary?"

"Why do you have a shield instead of a weapon?"

"What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?"

The topics had ranged extensively but Steve answered them the best he could. The children had tired of questions pretty quick, their minds moving to something more entertaining. They suggested a board game, convinced that Steve didn't know them. They had been sorely disappointed that he already knew how to play Life and Monopoly. They cheered when he said he'd never played Clue. He was now Colonel Mustard, Robert was Reverend Green, and Samantha was Mrs. Peacock.

"Your turn to roll the dice Captain Rogers," Robert said. Steve rolled the dice and rolled a five. It was weird to hear children call him Captain Rogers. He'd gotten so used to hearing "Steve" from Charlie and "Captain" from his strike team that it was unusual for someone of a younger age to address him. He didn't particularly like them calling him "Captain Rogers" but he didn't know what else they should call him so he let it be. The game continued with Samantha trying three more times to guess. In the end, she got it right, much to the chagrin of Robert.

"You're supposed to let the guest win Sammy," Robert accused.

"I think I'm old enough that you don't need to let me win," Steve said quickly when he saw Samantha's face fall. Robert blinked then tilted his head to the side.

"How old are you Captain Rogers?" Robert asked, innocently. Samantha turned towards him as well and Steve was met with two pairs of wide eyes. This was not a question that Steve wanted to answer. Steve tried to think quickly and decided to skirt around the question.

"How old do you think I am?"

"Seventy!"

"You look twenty."

"He can't be twenty he was frozen for a long time."

"Well then how old are you?" Steve sighed and swallowed.

"Why don't you do the math? I was twenty-two when I was frozen and I spent seventy years frozen. Then add the two years I've been unfrozen and you'll have my age," Steve was hoping that the kids would drop it at the sound of doing math but they got out a piece of paper and pen instead. Steve waited reluctantly for them to finish, not knowing what they're reactions would be. Samantha gasped when she found the answer and showed it to Robert.

"You're 94!?" Robert cried. Both of the children's eyes were wide and Steve grimaced.

"Yep, I'm old," Steve said. The children gawked for a second later and then jumped up.

"That's so cool!"

"Do you feel 94?"

"Why would he? He doesn't look 94."

"Is it because of the super serum?" Steve held up his hands at the barrage of questions and the children quieted.

"No, I don't feel 94 and yes it's because of the super serum that I look the way I do," Steve answered. The children gave excited shouts and started jumping up and down. They were still excited when their mom came home and assaulted her with everything they'd discovered.

"Mom, Captain Rogers is 94 years old!"

"Yeah Mom! We did the math and everything!"

"It's because of the super serum-"

"He looks like he's twenty!"

"Alright, alright, alright!" Margret shouted over her kids, "It seems you got a long just fine without me?" She looked to Steve and he nodded. The kids were well behaved, just energetic.

"And guys, it's not nice to talk about someone's age. Not everyone enjoys-"

"But he's 94 Mom!"

"Robert-" Margret started warningly.

"It's alright Margret," Steve interrupted. He was about to say more when his phone buzzed. He looked down and saw a mission from Fury. Steve sighed and stood up.

"I'm sorry, I have to go," Steve said.

"What? So soon?" Robert asked.

"Do you have to?" Samantha pouted.

"Yeah sorry kiddos," Steve ruffled their hair, "Duty calls."

"Okay, but promise to come back again!"

"Yeah please come back! Maybe Samantha will let you win this time."

"Robby, it was a fair game!"

"But he's the guest!" Steve left them to their bickering and turned to Margret.

"Thank you for watching them. It looks like they had a good time," Margret said.

"We had a great time. I hope you don't mind if I come back?" Steve asked.

"Not all. You are welcome back anytime," Margret set down her purse and turned towards the door.

"I forgot to ask, how was she with you today?" Margret looked at him, her eyebrows furrowed.

"She forgot three times," Steve sighed.

"I'm sorry," Margret sympathisized.

"It's okay. I'm just glad I get to visit her so thank you," Margret nodded. She called for her children to say goodbye and then Steve was on his way. As he drove to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, he thought about his conversations with Peggy. The first had been a repeat of her life. The second conversation they had talked about Margret and her kids. The third conversation they talked about S.H.I.E.L.D. and how Peggy helped found it. They had all been good conversations and Steve felt like he was back in the '40s, talking to a young brown haired independent woman. However, every time her mind reset or forgot or whatever it did, it broke his heart just a little bit. He was becoming numb to the pain but that didn't stop the hurt. There would always be a special place in his heart for Peggy but soon, that space might feel a little empty.
