"When do you think he'll let up?" Romeo asked as he watched Dan chase Lucy around the chairs. Natsu crossed his arms and blew a raspberry. Their eyes darted to Dan, who finally caught up with Lucy. He grabbed her hand and kissed it lightly. Natsu could feel his temperature rise.
But he couldn't help the grin when Lucy swiped her hand away and rubbed on it. Like she was trying to get rid of his essence stuck on her hand. "Dan, knock it off!" She yelled.
"But why my loopy pie? You're my true love! My soulmate! We must be together!" Dan pleaded as she began to run once more. From beside Natsu, Michelle giggled to herself. He looked up at her from the ground with a raise of his brow.
"Oh my, Dan is so funny. He really must love sister so much. How cute!" The air headed blonde smiled to herself. Natsu rolled his eyes. So did Marie.
"I really wish he wouldn't bother her. Lucy is obviously uncomfortable with it, doesn't he get the hint?" Marie thought aloud. The exceed sighed when Dan was finally distracted when Lucy called out Virgo. Lucy trudged her way back to everyone. She hid behind Michelle. Only to briefly look at Dan every couple of seconds.
"Why don't you just punch his face in?" Natsu asked. Lucy looked down at him and bit her lip.
"Usually I would, but I can see he's just passionate. Even if he doesn't get the damn hint," Lucy muttered angrily. Natsu put his cheek in his palm and exhaled a large breath. If only he could punch that guy's teeth in. Unexpectedly, Natsu's ears caught a sound above them. He stood up and pushed Lucy behind him. "What is it, Natsu?" Lucy whispered.
"Shh. I hear someone above us." She nodded and put a hand over Michelle's mouth when the woman became scared. Then, a body fell from the sky. Rubble falling on them as well. Lucy pushed passed Natsu and pulled the small girl from the floor. She gasped when she figured out who it was.
"Coco! What were you doing up there? And with your foot like that..." Lucy trailed off in a worried state.
"P-Princess Lucy..." Coco mumbled with a small smile.
"Princess?!" Lucy blushed. Only Virgo called her that. Did Coco overhear Vrigo say that and assumed she was an actual princess. Lucy sighed and glared over at Virgo. It always happens to be that particular spirit that gets in the most trouble it seemed.
"Natsu, Lucy!" A different voice announced. Lucy furrowed her brows as her and the rest of the team ran out of the Cathedral. They smiled when they saw Erza. And they had the clock piece!
"You guys! I'm glad you found the piece." Lucy sighed happily. Erza smiled even wider.
"We weren't the only ones." One by one, the groups that split up to find clock pieces appeared. With an item in their hands. Big or small, every team had one with them.
"The clock pieces!" Dan yelled, following Coco. "You found them all so quickly..." Dan muttered.
"You see? Fairy Tail always wins!" Lucy cheered. Everyone else laughed along with her, happiness filling the area. Dan and Coco frowned and looked at each other. What were they supposed to do now? Fight Fairy Tail by themselves?
"Dan and Coco! Why are you standing there!?" A man on top of an octopus appeared from seemingly nowhere. Dan and Coco ran up to the man and bowed down to him.
"I'm sorry Lord Byro, but we cannot win this fight. It's a guild against only us." Byro clenched his staff harder and glared down at the two. Lucy put her hands to her mouth when he used his staff to blast the two back.
"Inexcusable!"
Lucy wanted to run to the two and see if they were okay, but stopped when the dust cleared. Dan's shield had protected the two. Lucy felt herself relax. But Byro wasn't done. He blasted them again, only for the attack to bounce back at Byro.
"We've always followed your orders without question, but I will not allow you to hurt Coco!" Dan yelled. Natsu clenched his fist as he watched the scene unfolded. He glared dangerously at Byro. He may not like Dan, but no one should hurt their allies! Dan took multiple attacks to his shield, until it finally cracked.
Wide eyed, Dan laid his body over Coco when another blast of magic hit him. The man fell over, unconcious. Unfortunately, he didn't protect Coco like he wished. The little girl was also out cold. Natsu bared his teeth, and ran to Byro. He punched the man in the face and watched his fly back.
"You protect your allies! Not hurt them!" Natsu screamed. Although it fell on deaf ears. Byro gained his composure and narrowed his eyes at Natsu. He pointed his staff to Natsu.
"Stay out of this boy. It isn't your business!" Natsu grunted when magic hit his stomach and flew him back.
"N-Natsu!" Lucy yelled, fumbling with her keys. She grabbed Leo and called him out. "Loke, please get Dan and Coco while I help Natsu fight." Loke nodded.
"Will do!"
"Lucy don't!" Erza yelled. "We need to leave, with that staff, Byro is unbelievably powerful!" Lucy darted her eyes between Natsu and Erza. She shook her head.
"I'm sorry Erza. I need to help Natsu," She ran off and crouched down next to Natsu. "Are you okay?" She whispered. He nodded and picked himself up.
"Course. That was nothin compared to the punches I receive at the guild. Unbelievably powerful my ass. He's nothin!" Lucy smiled at his carefree attitude.
"Alright Natsu, you ready?" The other dragon slayer nodded with a smirk and ran forward to Byro, who looked awfully calm. Lucy followed after Natsu to be as a backup. Byro used his staff to hit Natsu across the face. Lucy lit her hand up in magic and attempted to punch Byro. But with one swift movement, Byro used his staff to block her attack.
Lucy jumped back and held her fist. "What kind of staff is that!? It should of broke!" A small smirk appeared on Byro's face. Natsu backed up to Lucy and grabbed her hurt hand. He examined it and frowned.
"I think it's broken." Natsu muttered. Lucy swiped her hand away.
"Its fine. I can still fight. C'mon, let's do this." Lucy said, not breaking eye contact with Byro. He was just waiting for them to make a move. He was on the defense this whole time. Allowing them to try and hit him time and time again. She wondered briefly how serious he would be if he switched to offense.
She shook her head. She can't get distracted! She sucked in a breath and watched as Natsu followed.
"Fire dragon roar!"
"Celestial dragon roar!" Lucy grinned as the attack hit dead on. Then it disappeared, as if they hadn't even done anything. She gasped to see Byro grinning wider. He looked so evil to her. "Dammit! His staff is what gives him power! He can nullify magic attacks. Much like Yuka could..." Lucy mumbled to herself.
"So we just need to destroy the staff then? He's useless without it right?" Natsu said with a smirk. Lucy wanted to groan at the way he wasn't even affected by his power.
"I would say yes. Get rid of the staff and you get rid of the power."
"Alright! This just made our job ten times easier!" Natsu laughed, slamming his fist in his other hand while fire engulfed his feet. Lucy gasped as he used his fire to run to Byro. He was almost as fast as Jet. It was quite impressive. Natsu grabbed onto Byro's staff.
"Let go!" Byro yelled, pulling back on his staff. Natsu ignored him and set the staff on fire, wanting it to light on fire and incinerate. Lucy watched as Natsu was suddenly blasted back. Byro seemed to be finally using his offense attacks. He disappeared and reappeared in front of her, kicking her in the stomach.
She felt air leave her lungs as she laid on the ground in pain. She could faintly hear Natsu's grunts as he was being attacked. Erza was right, there was a lot more than meets the eye with this guy. She struggled to stand, only for Byro to kick her down. From a few feet away, she noticed Natsu beat up on the ground.
He was definitely worse for wear. She probably wasn't any better. Dammit! She was weak and embarrassed, she could feel his boot on her back. He pushed her further into the ground. She moaned.
Why wasn't anyone helping them!? How could they have been beaten easily? What was she saying, they didn't need help! Using her elbows, she slowly lifted herself up, despite the muddy boot on her spine. Byro hummed when he felt his foot lift with her body.
"So you're still alive. Impressive."
"Shut up. I don't want to hear it," Byro backed up and allowed her to stand. She ignored him completely and trudged her way to Natsu. From the ground, he glared harshly at Byro. Lucy fell to her knees next to him. "Can you still fight. Because I can. I've just gotten started." Lucy panted. Natsu clenched the dirt between his fingers before he sat up.
"Hell yeah I can still fight. Like I said before, I've had worse beatings."
Byro watched as the two stood up. He could just blow on them and they'd fall over. He turned his head to look at their friends. They were seconds away from jumping in the fight and helping them. He suddenly slammed his staff on the ground hard.
"I'm sick of this pointless fight!" Just as he did that, explosions went off from the ground. Wendy screaming when an explosion hit her leg and pushed her back.
"Wendy!" Natsu screamed. Though he could barely move. Kana was the one closest to the blue haired girl, so she grabbed her cards and looked around for any other attack. But she was quickly put down when something faster than any human slammed into her back. She coughed out and hit the ground.
"What the hell is going on over there!" Lucy yelled out. She then froze when she heard her voice echo back so loud it could have made her ears bleed. Everyone struggled to shut out the noise but it felt like Lucy's words were ringing inside their body. What the hell was going on? There were new enemies somewhere.
She could smell them! And they smelled familiar. But she couldn't pinpoint what made it familiar. She gazed around the underground room, trying to follow a scent. Gasping when she found where it originated from. She managed a weak arm and pointed to where she could smell them.
Gajeel could see it. He nodded at Lucy. "They're up there! Bunny girl sees em!" Everyone's attention turned to the group of people perched on a cliff a couple few feet above everyone. But they couldn't see their faces. Byro gave Fairy Tail a small smirk.
"Lord Byro...why would you call them, why them!" Coco yelled desperately.
"Silence Coco! You should be thankful they're on our side. If not...you'd be dead." Byro murmured. Everyone watched as someone came forward, their smirk overly confident. Lucy's eyes widened.
"C-Cobra!" Said man looked down to Lucy with a grin. She noticed how one of his eyes were forced close. She wondered what that was about.
"Who is that Gray-sama?" Juvia whispered to Gray, who glared up at a man, Racer, who was bending over as if he was a dog. Like he wasn't even human.
"Oracion Seis. They're back."
