Sonic and the Olympians

Chapter 8:

The sun was just moments away from rising in the east, erasing the dancing stars by the blue sky it brings with it. Only three stars were bright enough to still be seen, they were there as a reminder to Sonic and the Olympians that time is running out. Zeus called everyone to an important discussion in Zeus' office that in serious events will he only allow his Olympian children in. A few of them including Sonic had ideas of how fighting Hecate and keeping her army away from Mount Olympus, as well as rescuing Athena and Ares successfully. He wanted to hear all of their ideas but unfortunately, he didn't like them.

"Why not?!" Cried an angered Heracles after telling his idea. "We all run with Sonic leading the way. He'll be so fast that she and her army won't see him, hit Ares first with the arrows Artemis gave him, and then I'll get to Hecate first and pound her face clean off her head."

"This is all stressful the way it is, but we can't do that because there's so much risks involved. I don't want nothing disastrous that could affect Greece, our country and its people is in the middle of all of this anyway." Said Hermes.

"Well, my father, you have to at lease approve of something, there's only two stars out with the sun just almost above earth's horizon." Said Apollo.

At this moment Zeus really wished Athena was here. She was not only his favorite daughter, she was also the true Olympian expert of war. She made every battle tactic and gave the Olympians victories to every battle they went in. So whenever Greece was in trouble, its people will always trust on Athena that she'll make the right plan to keep them from danger. Zeus knew if she was here, this would be a lot easy for everyone.

Sonic has been quiet for a while because he's not an expert to making battle plans, but he listen carefully to all the plans being made. However, he was beginning to feel impatient and was starting to think that all this sitting and talking was wasting precious time and they were going nowhere. Corrina has also been quiet too, but unlike Sonic were he wants to get things started, she wanted to make sure every passing second count so that the right battle tactic was made. When Zeus and his children were quiet, Corinna raised a hand before anyone would speak.

"Corinna, you have something in mind?" Zeus asked her. She got up and went down on one knee in front of Zeus.

"I think I know what can work, it may however take some time to prepare."

Everyone remind quiet.

"You may speak." Said Zeus.

"Remember when Sonic first came here you gave him a cup to seal the curses when he would remove them from the Olympians?"

"Yes, I do."

"Well, why don't we all make more, and give one to each Olympian. When Hecate arrives with her army, we go under the clouds so we'll be under her feet. We would then emerge above them and then catch her army in the cups that is closest to us. That way, she'll lose most of her army that we don't get outnumbered. But of course we have to worry about not only Hecate but Athena and Ares as well, so maybe you, my God, could handle Hecate while Sonic and me can handle Athena and Ares. If you approve of this, then we must act fast and now so it could work."

This plan sounded like it had potential so much that the Olympians smiled and nodded to each other, while Apollo clapped his hands, praising Corinna's plan. Zeus didn't said nothing though, he instead got up and walk to a window with his hands behind him. It was a perfect place to have a window because it look down of all Greece, the country that he and his children love. Corinna got up, Zeus so far still didn't say anything, which gave Sonic time to meet up with Corrina. Only one star was left in the now pale blue sky, the sun's rays were almost ready to appear as well. Zeus turned to everyone.

"Yes, we'll do that, I put faith in the plan that it will work, but we don't know how we can accomplish this. Corinna, I thank you for everything that you've done for us. Without you, Mount Olympus would've fallen and Hecate would sure have control and destroy Greece." He said.

She bowed.

"We should also thank Sonic, he is the true one here with power and strength that can get us through anything."

"We'll have to save the thanks for later, cause right now we have to work on making those cups!" Said Aphrodite.

Sonic collected the gold that flown from a fountain inside the Pantheon temple. The last star in the sky was starting to grow faint and the sun was getting taller. The gods rushed to making the cups with the best of their abilities and might. Even Corinna used her powers to make sure they were made with the correct, color, shape, and volume. Zeus collected them and handed each cup to his children even to Corrina because everyone in Mount Olympus has to be together in this toughest battle yet. Sonic even quickly saddled Pegasus so he can carry Zeus through the battle.

Just when everyone was leaving the Pantheon and standing in front of Mount Olympus' golden gates, the last star disappeared, and Hecate and her army were heading their way.

The army of Hecate was massive and mighty, flooding Mount Olympus of an never needing sea of themselves. Their horses made of evil power thundered beneath them, picking up the clouds by their hooves, which settled back down perfectly. They stood in only one direction, following the one who leads them every step of this battle, Hecate. Standing tall and proud of her chariot, her eyes were gazed and fixed on her prize when she wins the war with the Olympians. Her sheer power and determination was what powered her army. With raising a power orb in the air and giving a command, Ares and Athena appeared on either side of Hecate, they too, on their chariots and readied for battle.

"This is it." Said Zeus. "We may not have Athena and Ares on our side and I may not have my lighting bolts at this very moment, but we can still be powerful no matter what! Remember, we are fighting for not only Athena, Ares, and even Mount Olympus, we are also fighting for Greece and its people! Do as what we have planned and by doing that, we should have a victory on our hands! My children, fight with all the might and strength that I gave to you, and Corinna, Sonic,"

They turned to him and Zeus said with a smile: "you too do what your best at, I have high hopes and trust that you both will pull this off with ease!"

"Don't have any doubt Zeus." Said Sonic. "I have done many things like this before, so this is nothing new. We'll show Hecate to not mess with the wrong hedgehog!"

Corinna couldn't help but chuckle, with Sonic by her side helping her through this, she had discovered the courage she needed to confront and stop her sister.

Hecate and her army were now getting close, and when Zeus found the right moment, he mounted Pegasus and lead the way for the battle. His children held the cups firmly in hand, with their special weapons in the other. Sonic charged at full speed until he caught up with Zeus. Corinna had also learned to keep up with him even at blazing speeds. They all prepared for the signal that Zeus will give to his children. In order to protect Olympus from destruction of war, they have to fight outside the golden gates and keep Hecate and her army on their side of the clouds, far from Mount Olympus as much as possible.

"Get ready my children," Said Zeus. Since he doesn't have his lighting bolts, He had to borrow his Ares' sword of War and Destruction, the strongest and most valuable symbol of war that Greece has ever known. He held the sword firmly in one hand.

"Ready..." They pasted the golden gates.

"Set..." Hecate's army became a never ending flood as they were getting closer.

"NOW!" He cried. Without hesitation, the Olympians disappeared under the clouds and flew in the morning sky. If the Greeks were to look up now, they would see their gods and goddess flying with so much power and grace that they will fall to their knees and worship them.

But now's not the time for the Olympians to accept their people's praise, their minds and souls were filled with desire to fight and protect with everything they've got.

As Hecate grew closer to the Olympians, she became confused as to why only Zeus, Corinna, and the blue hedgehog were by themselves, but something told her to not have her guard down.

In that moment, the Olympians flew up from behind, and they gathered as much as Hecate's army as possible. Hecate turned to see the horror and commanded Athena to destroy them. but at that moment, Sonic spin dashed Athena off her chariot.

"I'll handle Athena, you can handle Ares." Said Sonic to Corinna. Corinna saw Ares turning around to attack the Olympians, but with one hit from her power orb, it directly hit Ares and he too, fell from his chariot. Meanwhile Zeus knew what to do. He commanded Pegasus directly to Hecate, she felt his presence was nearby and she threw her power orb at him at the same time his got Ares' sword out. The sword and orb made contact and the orb exploded. Anger boiled deep in Hecate.

"YOU!" Hecate yelled. She jumped on her horse and turned her chariot into ash. It was now heated battle between Zeus and Hecate.

As they battled, Athena and Ares got up to see their attackers. They were commanded by Hecate before to not disappoint her and use the magic she gave them, and they were more powerful than even Zeus was! Filled by this, they listened to what they were commanded. Sonic took a quick notice that Athena look a lot like Blaze, another friend at home, and Ares had a lot of resemblance to Shadow, a hedgehog back home that he likes to bother a lot and have races to see who's the fastest, but in reality, he is, not matter how many times he likes to race with Shadow.

Sonic gave Athena time to get up.

"I'll make sure master will be pleased with me after I finish with you!" She said.

"Huh, well let's see if you catch up Bla- I mean Athena!" He said. He ran rapidly around Athena, picking up clouds that Athena lost her vision to her surroundings.

Corinna also gave time for Ares to rise. She had her shield ready, and her gaze was locked onto Ares. Deep down, she ached at the thought that there's bitterness between her and Ares. He may be the god of war, but he was very kind and helpful to Corinna when she lost her sister and her goddess role. He help her to keep going and to always stay positive that maybe someday, Zeus would give her role back. But she reminded herself that the Ares she knew wasn't gone entirely, she has a chance to save the real Ares that she deep down cared. When Ares rise, he also locked his gaze on Corinna.

"Master told me that you were also trying to keep her from achieving her goal. She has me charge to make sure that you and the Olympians won't stand on her way no more!" He created a power orb.

"I know you're still the Ares I know and care, and no matter what I will fight the evil that overshadows your true self!" She also created a power orb and threw it before Ares could throw his. He however threw his quicker than Corinna and their orbs clashed and erupted in a cloud of smoke.

"Hm, you seem skilled with the power of orbs. Perhaps you're not as skilled with fighting. Ares ran to Corinna as she held her shield in front to protect herself.

As Sonic and Corinna handled Athena and Ares, Hecate was having a hard time keeping up with Zeus. Even without his lighting bolts, he knew how to use the sword like he knew every inch of Mount Olympus. He still created lighting and thunder with the pounding of steel and Hecate's energy. This angered Hecate even more, realizing Athena and Ares weren't around to be her extra muscle, she knew she needed to make a comeback, and quick.

"Alright! that's six hundred and ten spirits!" Said Apollo. "Hey sister, how many have you caught?"

"seven hundred and thirty." Replied Artemis. Hecate's army was becoming a lake of armed spirits. The more the Olympians were sealing them, it was making Hecate's army weak.

"Enough of the talking and more trapping!" Barked Heracles. "This is not over yet."

Sonic made Athena's vision blurred enough that she couldn't see her reflection from the sun. He went for an arrow, readied to use it. But if he knew Athena had this done to her a few battles back, he would'n't've done it. As he shot an arrow when the clouds partially faded, she threw a spear and it directly hit Sonic's arrow, shattering it.

"Uh oh." Thought Sonic as Athena made a dash to Sonic and knocked him down with her shield. She created another sphere and locked her ideal area to stab him when he dashed away and tripped her.

Hecate knew that by not doing anything right now would diminish her chances of destroying Zeus and the Greek gods as well as her reward of controlling Mount Olympus.

"I may not have my role, but I'm still the goddess of witchcraft, magic, and ghosts. I'm powerful just as much as any of the other gods is, including my sister! No matter how hard they'll try, they are no match with the magic that I'm able to do!" She thought.

Suddenly, she turned her horse into ash and formed a magic shield sphere around her. Zeus took one strike but the sword was no match of the sphere's durability. She spoke a spell in Greek and to Zeus's horror, Hecate brought forth Zeus' lighting bolts, all but one turned a dark shade of purple, she continued speaking her Greek spells.

"Hecate, don't!" Cried Zeus.

It was however, too late. Hecate wasn't going to hear his plea to stop. His plea also went in the ear of Sonic, Corinna, and his Olympian children.

Horrified, Corinna stopped fighting Ares and instead, head to her sister's direction. Ares was gonna attack her since her guard was down but Sonic stopped him. Athena threw another sphere and he moved out of the way, just in time so that the sphere hit Ares' battle helmet off his head.

"Hecate don't! You done it once and promised before me that you would never ever use dark magic!"

"That was my mistake Corinna, and I won't make that. I control magic since I created it, and I should've used it ever since I started this instead of going "soft" and letting my controlled Olympians doing my job. It's time that I take control of...EVERYTHING!"

Zeus spoke a command in Greek before she finished speaking her spell, and everything went still. The sun became a midnight shade object in the sky. They entered a purple black void with no ground to rest feet or a sky to admire the beauty of it. Her army faded into smoke. Athena and Ares had also faded along them. The ones that remained was Zeus with Pegasus, Sonic, Corinna, the Olympians, and Hecate.

"Wh-where are we?" Whispered Hermes to Aphrodite. Hecate sharply turned to him.

"You're worse nightmare. This will be your special version of Hades."

Author's notes:

I thank you for reading my eight chapter of "Sonic and the Olympians!" If you haven't read any of the previous chapters yet, then please do or give this a like, a review or follow me because I'll be making more Fanfics in the future! From now on, I'll be publishing future chapters whenever I can. It would be easier for me if I work on a chapter when I can then trying to rush them out because I don't want to rush this story, but work on it on my own pace. Also, if you didn't know, this story was inspired by two Sonic games named Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic and the Black Knight, but I do not own anything from those games, and they rightfully belong to SEGA!

I do not own Sonic or any of the Sonic the Hedgehog characters, they rightfully are owned by SEGA. However, I do own credit to Corinna, who is my Greek Original Character maiden in this story that is helping Sonic to defeat Hecate. With that being said, I'll see you in the next chapter!
