Hey all guess whos back! I i know i was on hiatus for a long time but i ended up getting a bad injury and got really bad depression from it so i stopped writing, im still healing so i cannot guarantee how recent my updates will be so please bare with me.

anyways onto the story!

It had been two weeks since Laxus found the two girls and brought them to the guild and Ashtrid's wounds were healing nicely much to Makarov's relief, although the two girls were now willing to talk to everyone he has still yet to gain their trust so he still didnt know what had put them in that situation in the first place, although he was willing to wait until they were ready and wanted to know at least something before he would let them join the guild.

Currently the twins were sitting down at one of the tables with their exceeds,Lisanna, Levy and Erza. Out of all the children they felt most comfortable with these two girls as they didn't pester them for information, Erza who had come from a bad past understood their need for privacy and Levy knew the two would need time to adjust to where they are, Ashtrid was still very wary of everyone and tended to pick fights if anyone came too close to her while Ayslyn was the gentler of the two and had no problem becoming friends with the other children although it's still taking her some time to become used to Gray and Natsu's energy.

letting out a sigh Ayslyn turned to her twin who was currently glaring at the two loud boys that were currently arguing "Ash you have to talk to those two sometime, Gray did keep you cool when you had a fever" glancing at her calmer half she turned back to glaring at the two "i will once they stop asking questions"

"i doubt that will be anytime soon, Natsu is very nosy and if he wants to know something then Gray wants to know as well"

turning her silver eyes to Levy she studied the other girl, she was small for her age and was generally quiet with short blue hair and a shy smile, she reminded her of Ayslyn so she came to accept the girl quickly, turning her head she studied the other two girls as well Erza was the tougher of the two her scarlet hair made her stand out as did her armor that she wore, although she had a powerful air too her there was a sadness about her as well, then lisanna who was the gentlest with her pixie cut white hair she tended to be the most tolerant of the two boys.

"if they truly start to bother you i will deal with them"

turning too meet the brown eye's of Erza she gave her a small frown "if they bother me i can deal with them myself", blinking the red head nodded before going back to her strawberry cake, Ayslyn sighed at her sisters attitude before turning to watch Fang and Farrow as they play wrestled, although Farrow was winning.

suddenly the guild doors opened, drawing everyone's attention to the angsty blonde teen returning from a mission, feeling a pair of eyes on him Laxus turned to look at the pair of now conscious twins staring at him, he watched the two curiously when Ash suddenly got up and made her way over to him causing everyone to stop and watch as this was the first time she's willingly approached someone

"Ash?"

ignoring her twin she made her way over to the usually intimidating teen, stopping in front of him she stared up at him her silver eyes staring into his curious orange (a/n going with the original manga color instead of the anime's grey) suddenly and to everyone surprise she held her hand out "i heard your'e the one that saved us, thank you for saving Ayslyn and our exceeds" raising an eyebrow Laxus noted that she didn't mention herself but didn't say anything, instead reaching down to shake her smaller hand.

with a satisfied hum Ash turned back around and made her way back over to her sister ignoring everyone's shocked stares at the fact that she had gotten a handshake from Laxus instead of being snapped at to go away. Makarov watched the interaction with a small smile on his face as he watched his grandson and the small dragon slayer, maybe she would adjust better than he thought she would.

letting out an annoyed groan Ash flopped down on her bed in the infirmary and turned her head to her sister in annoyance, Gray and Natsu had been getting on her nerves so she dragged her sister back to their "room" in the infirmary, watching as her sister pulled out another book she had gotten from Levy she let out another huff until her sister turned to look at her in amusement

"what's wrong Ash?"

"i want to heal faster so that we can leave sooner"

focusing completely on her sister Ayslyn frowned and tilted her small head in confusion

"leave?"

"yes leave Lyn"

"why? its nice here? and its safe"

sitting up Ash frowned "yeah but for how long? and for all we know these people could be even worse than them, plus we have to find Tadashi" looking at her twin sadly Lyn closed her book before speaking "Ash, he could be anywhere, we don't know where he ran off too or if hes ever going to come look for us, and these people are different, they're kind i can feel it they wont hurt us, so please, lets stay here at least until we hear something about Tadashi or the others okay? Eric and Kira wouldn't want us putting ourselves at risk and they wanted us to wait for them to find us,not the other way around, you promised"

getting off her bed Ash started to pace around the room "waiting for them is what put us into that situation in the first place, i doubt they are looking for us Lyn, they took Tadashi and left, if they were really coming back for us then we wouldn't of gotten hurt"

"they wouldn't do that"

turning around Ash felt a pang of guilt as she saw her twin's eyes filling with tears

"Lyn"

"no! they wouldn't abandon us like that! they promised and are probably looking for us right now!"

walking over Ash took her twins hands and sighed "alright alright they're looking for us, im sorry alright? im just upset so please don't cry alright?" reaching over Ash wiped away her sisters tears before making her decision.

"alright"

sniffling Ayslyn looked at her twin in confusion "what?"

"i said alright, we'll stay, at least until they come to get us okay?"

suddenly beaming Ayslyn tackled her twin in a hug 'really?", laughing at her actions and hugging her back she said "really, you seem to like these people"

pulling back Lyn stared at her twin sternly "that means you have to get along with them alright? no fighting"

sighing Ash nodded before making her way to the door "fine, but i can't promise that if they hurt you that i wont hold back, lets go talk to makarov about joining", smiling happily Ayslyn jumped off the bed and followed her sister out the door.

Makarov put down his papers after hearing a small knock on the door, letting out a tired sigh he answered "come in", raising an eyebrow at the two girls that came in with their exceeds Makarov waited until the door closed to speak.

"is something wrong?"

Makarov watched as Ashtrid shifted uncomfortably where she stood before her silver eyes met his and with a strong voice said "we want to join your guild", Makarov studied the young girls infront of him, Ayslyn was quiet and well mannered, she also seemed to be the more logical of the two and patient although rather shy while Ashtrid was the more strong willed twin, she didn't hesitate in speaking her mind but was more impulsive of the two she was also quite brave for her age.

smiling at the children and their cats he motioned for them to sit down, once they did he spoke up "i would be happy for you four to join but before you do i need some information on what happened to you two" holding up his hand when Ashtrid went to interrupt he continued "i dont need to know everything, i just need to make sure that whatever happened to the both of you won't happen again, is there anyone after you?"

Makarov watched as the twins stared at each other before Ashtrid spoke up her eyes meeting his "no, it wont happen again, no ones after us" studying the two and the fact that Ayslyn wouldn't meet his gaze gave him the idea they weren't telling the truth, letting out a sigh he got up a grabbed the guild stamp and made his way over, even though they lied to him he wasn't about to let two children go off alone and put themselves in danger, he would protect them.

holding out the stamp he smiled at the twins

"well then, welcome to Fairy Tail"

i know its not very long, but it will take me some time to get back into doing long chapters as even writing this hurt quite a bit, the next chapter will be a time skip to when the story actually begins with lucy joining the guild.
