A/N: Happy Halloween everyone and R.I.P James and Lily! Thank you for reviews and once again I'm sorry it has taken so long to post this, I just have way too much stuff going on at the moment, but I try to update sooner. Anyway, here's the chapter sixteen, I hope you like it!
Oh and someone pointed out that Godric Gryffindor's house is in the U.S... I have to admit I didn't even think about it when I wrote that, but why can't he have a house in the U.S? Maybe he travelled around the world and bought a house. I don't really think it's all that relevant, but I sorry if it bothers you. :D
Sky leaned his head to the wall and watched the view changing rapidly as the Hogwarts Express made its way back to London. His first year at Hogwarts was over and he had gotten through it without hexing Dumbledore into oblivion, though during the last few days he had spent in the castle he found it extremely hard to restrain himself.
The plan to expose Voldemort's survival had failed thanks to Dumbledore altering everyone's memories of it and even the small hope Sky had held that someone would have managed to send a letter home about the happenings in the feast had been crushed when he found out that the owlery and the common rooms had been locked and the students prevented from accessing their owls and other birds used for communicating with their families. Now there was no way to alert the public about the approaching threat. They couldn't cancel the work Dumbledore had done as there were too many students and it would take too much time and many skilled Legilimens, which they didn't have. Sky hadn't even restored Dora's memories yet, deciding to speak with his dad first about of how to proceed as it would lead to uncomfortable questions Sky didn't yet wish to answer.
He had spoken with his dad about recruiting Dora to the DoM and they had agreed that now wasn't the time. Marcus wanted to see for himself how Dora was doing in her training, which Sky had continued through the whole year and get to know her more before considering recruiting her. She was only twelve after all and Marcus needed to find out whether she could handle the training and the pressure that came with the job. Sky had told him some of what he and Dora had gone through while living in the streets, but Marcus wasn't convinced yet, though his first impression of the girl during Christmas had been a positive one. Sky understood his dad's reasoning and agreed to wait. After all, his dad didn't know Dora like he did and she would have to prove herself to him, like Sky had had to before he was offered a post with the Force.
A small movement on the bench in front of him drew him out from his thoughts and Sky couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips as he looked at the sleeping figure on it. Dora snored softly her black hair falling on her face as she changed her position. She was in her natural form without any morphing, which was general for Metamorphmaguses when they slept though it was possible to maintain another form, which was what Sky had done the whole year at Hogwarts.
Sky reached out his hand and gently moved her hair out of her face. He still sometimes found it hard to believe that Dora was alive and with him. She was his best friend; his only friend his own age and he didn't know what he'd do if he lost her again. That was why he wanted her trained and capable of defending herself. It was only a matter of time when Voldemort would come back and start terrorizing the wizarding world.
The train started slowing down as it reached the King Cross station and Sky gently nudged at Dora.
"Dora. Wake up." Sky said.
"Mmm… Five more minutes." Dora murmured sleepily.
"You don't have five minutes. Come on sleepyhead, we're in London, it's time to get up."
"Fine." Dora grumbled. Sky took their trunks down as the train stopped and pushed Dora out of the compartment. They joined the rush among the other students who eagerly exited the train to find their families. As they got out Sky immediately traced his dad, who was once again disguised as Ray's father. After a few seconds of scanning he spotted him near the entrance to the Platform 9¾.
"I found my dad." He said to Dora who was searching for her own parents.
"Oh, where is he?"
"By the entrance." Sky said and pointed at him.
"I think mine are over there." She said pointing at the opposite direction, trying to see over the crowd.
Sky nodded.
"Just remember to not to tell them my true identity." Sky said quietly.
"I know, I know. I won't forget, Ray." Dora said hugging him. "Someday you're gonna have to tell me why all the secrecy."
"I will." Sky said hugging her back.
"Owl me about the training." Dora said letting him go.
Sky nodded.
"Have a nice summer Dora." He said.
"Have a nice summer Sky." She said before disappearing to the crowd. Sky stared after her for a moment before turning around and walking towards his dad.
Sky let a content smile appear on his face as he stood outside the Lux Manerium. After nine months of being stuck in a castle with the old coot, he was finally home. He felt the old magic of the manor's wards wash over him as they recognized him and welcomed him back.
"It's good to be back." He smiled.
Marcus too smiled at the content look on his son's face and was just about to comment when the door burst open and Sky found his arms full of a tall man with brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. The man hugged him tightly and lifting him up and whirling him around as he chanted "thank you, thank you, thank you" over and over.
"Ahh, Moony let me down… I can't breathe." Sky gasped.
Remus stopped whirling him around and stepped back grinning sheepishly as Sirius too came out of the manor laughing at his lover's antics. He too pulled Sky into a hug, but much more gently than Remus.
"Thank you." He murmured before letting him go and wrapping his arms around Remus.
"It worked then?" Sky asked grinning as he looked at the pair. It was the day after the last full moon and there was no trace of fatigue or anything that would give out that he had transformed the night before, in Remus. Just last night Sky had sent the potion to him via Shadow with a small note with instructions on when to take it and what it should do. He was sure the potion would work and looking at Remus it seemed he was right.
"Yes!" Remus exclaimed. "I didn't transform! I took the potion you left me and we waited the whole night, but the moon didn't affect me at all."
"Good." Sky said. "Do you feel any different? Any side effects?"
"No, none at all. I feel the same, except the wolf is gone. Usually I can feel it in the back of my mind, trying to break out especially when I'm angry, but now there's nothing." Remus said. "The wolf's presence is missing but I still have better senses and strength and probably good alcohol tolerance too, though I haven't tested that. My eye color, though, is back to what it was before I was bitten."
Sky nodded. "Then the potion worked properly."
"What was the potion?" Sirius asked a bit worriedly. "Is it permanent or does Remy have to take it every month like Wolfsbane?"
"The potion should be permanent but I think it's best if we monitor you for the next couple of months at the very least, just in case. What it does exactly, is that it subdues the wolf to the point it is no more than an Animagus form to which you should be able to transform whenever you like. That is the reason you retained your heightened senses among other things that came with the Lycanthropy." Sky explained.
"Really?" Remus asked his eyes shining brightly with tears. "I'm really cured?"
"If there aren't any setbacks, then yes." Sky grinned before yelping as Remus once again hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, Sky. You don't know how much this means to me."
"You're welcome."
"Enough with the mushy, mushy stuff, I think this calls for a party!" Sirius exclaimed trying to hide the fact he too had tears in his eyes, before disappearing back into the manor with Marcus running after him and yelling him to stay out of the kitchen.
Remus laughed along with Sky before with one last grateful look he too disappeared back into the Manor. As Sky stared after him he thought:
'Yes, it was good to be home.'
The first few weeks of the summer holidays went by quickly with Sky returning to the DoM. His colleagues welcomed him back and the Team Five especially was glad to have him back among them. No one apart from Marcus, Sirius and Remus knew Sky had been undercover at Hogwarts apart from Flitwick of course – they had only known that he was on a mission. Undercover missions were never spread around the department even though there wasn't any chance it could get out. It was an unwritten rule that no one apart from those who needed to know, was told about them.
Sky had already went on a few new missions as a Team leader and taken on a new group of trainees to coach. He was happy to be back to his normal routine though it was added by his training sessions with Dora at the Manor. He met with her nearly every day if he wasn't on a mission and pushed her to perfect her skills. It seemed she was very talented in defense and especially with throwing knives and daggers and had found a liking to them. Sky was very happy with her progress and had been commended for his work by Marcus, who had been observing them. Dora was rapidly moving towards the level where she would be asked to join the Force – but not yet. There was still time to let her remain oblivious to the threat Voldemort posed when he finally would manage to get a new body. There was no point making her worry when it wasn't that relevant yet.
Dora however, had been very curious as of late, of what Sky was doing when he wasn't with her and the days he couldn't train her. She didn't ask outright, but subtly tried to get him to say and had almost succeeded a few times, till Sky had caught himself. He swore she should have been in Slytherin! Sky knew he was keeping a lot from her and felt bad about it, knowing it was only a matter of time when she would outright ask him about all his secrets, like why he went to school under a disguise of a blind boy. He would have to lie to her when the time came. It wasn't as if Sky couldn't lie, in fact he was very skilled at lying, but he had never been able to lie to Dora. She knew him better than anyone else even though they had been years apart and would know he was lying to her. And it hurt him more than anything else. Still, he'd have to do it – he only hoped she wouldn't be too mad at him.
At the moment though, Sky wasn't worrying about Dora. He was at the DoM trying to locate Remus as Marcus had wanted to see him. He walked down the corridor to the cafeteria and stepped in, letting his gaze travel around the room till he spotted Remus eating with Seth and some other agent Sky didn't know. He walked to them and nicked half of Remus' sandwich and sat down.
"Hey!" Remus exclaimed as he took it from his hand just as he was about to eat and Sky just grinned at him munching the sandwich.
"Hello Shade." Remus glared at him. "What are you doing here, other than eating my sandwich?"
"Hi Moony." Sky said happily. "Marcus wants to see you."
"Now?"
"Yeah."
"Oh well." Remus sighed standing up and turning to look at Seth. "I guess you need to tell me about it later." He said before leaving as Seth nodded him affirmative.
"Tell him what?" Sky asked Seth curiously.
"He was looking at the Memory Wall for the fallen agents earlier and asked about them and I was just about to tell him about one of the Legends." Seth said.
"Really? I have wondered about them too. I know Charlus Potter or the Griffin is one and Septimus too, but I never found out who Ghost, Phantom, Spirit or Black Star were."
"Marcus never told you about the Ghost, Phantom and Spirit?" Seth raised his eyebrows chuckling as Sky shook his head.
"Who were they?"
"Oh no, you're not getting that out of me." Seth laughed. "That's for Marcus to tell you, but I can tell you about Black Star."
It was a great honor for an agent to get his/her name on the Memory Wall among the Legends. The Legends were agents whose deeds were worthy of such appreciation – they were the best of the best. Sky made a mental note to ask about the trio from Marcus before nodding to Seth, who started to speak.
"Black Star was a very young agent during the First War. It's said he was only sixteen when he joined the Force. He was a brilliant agent, but had a shitty family who forced him to join the Dark Lord. Having no choice he did what they wanted him to and took the mark, but instead of being a loyal follower he became a spy for us and made his way all the way to Voldemort's inner circle." Seth said. "He provided us invaluable information which allowed us to save hundreds of lives."
"What happened to him?" Sky asked.
"Nobody knows." Seth said shaking his head. "The last he was heard was a few days before the Halloween when he provided his contact a note he had stolen from Voldemort's lair. After that he vanished and no one ever heard from him again. Our records here in the DoM states he is dead and our spy among the lower ranks heard rumors that he was killed by Voldemort himself, but nobody knows for sure."
"What did the note say?"
"I don't know. I have never seen it, but I heard it was in some strange language or code no one has been able to break." Seth said thoughtfully. "Marcus probably knows, you should ask him."
"I will." Sky said thanking Seth before leaving the cafeteria.
He had a lot to think about.
Warning: Mentions of a slash couple!
The rest of the month went by in a blink of an eye with the wedding for Sirius and Remus. It was a small ceremony in the garden outside Lux Manerium with just a few people as witnesses. Marcus with the rights he received being a Head of a department performed the ceremony while Sky stood as the best man for Sirius and Frank for Remus. Alice, Neville and Dora also attended, but that was it. Their colleagues at the DoM after all, weren't aware of their true identities.
Sirius and Remus had been happy they were able to get bonded in England as Remus had been cured of his Lycanthropy, but they had kept it as quiet as possible, not wanting someone like Dumbledore to find out. Remus was after all supposed to keep an eye on Sirius while he looked for Harry.
After the ceremony they had a small party before the two Marauders left for their honeymoon in the Seychelles, where they spent the next two weeks. The two were happier than ever before and Sky couldn't have been happier for them. He was glad his uncles had finally found each other and were together. He only wondered if he'd get a cousin someday, though he knew it was very unlikely to happen in the near future as Voldemort could get back any time.
Oh well, one can always hope.
A/N: Thanks for reading! Please review and tell me what you think. Suggestions to improve the story are welcome. I will try to post the next chap sometime next week.
Also I'm sorry I forgot to put in the warnings that there was going to be slash in this story. That will be corrected. Thanks.
