Brunch and Crunch, the Hunch Bunch, aren't successful in converting Shaggy into a werewolf. The first night, their attempt is foiled by a dog named Scooby-Doo; and the second night, their attempt is foiled by a watermelon truck.
Now it's their third day for another attempt to convert Shaggy into a werewolf and bring him to Count Dracula's castle in Transylvania to get ready for the Monster Road Rally. With their first two attempts fail, what could be a better way to plan for the night than to reconnoiter in the daytime?
They saw Shaggy leave the house first thing in the morning via the Batcopter.
"Let's follow him to where he's going, Crunch," Brunch said.
"Blokay," Crunch gibbered as their helicopter followed the lanky teen to his destination. They followed him to college.
"Ah, college. So he's a student. I wonder what course did he study."
They landed their helicopter to a spot where no one could notice it. Figuring they needed disguises, they took two students behind them from a bush and wear their clothes.
"This should be a great camouflage for us, eh, Crunch?" Brunch smiled.
"Yeah, great camouflage," Crunch agreed.
Now that they looked like students, they went inside to follow Shaggy in a classroom. It seems the teacher is teaching him some English. On the next class, he is being taught with Mathematics. An hour later, Shaggy gets a lunch break.
In the meantime, Brunch and Crunch walked to one of the classrooms to see Shaggy's records.
"So he's studying mechanical engineering," the British hunchback commented. "Now we know how he does racing."
"So bwhy there's Mbathematics?" the gibberish hunchback asked with confusion.
"To make the precise movements in cars, my dear boy. That's why there's problem solving in the subject such as if you get one million in cash and you have to deposit half of it in the bank, how much do you have left?"
Crunch is quite confused with this problem.
"See, dear boy? You don't know, and the answer is five hundred thousand dollars. No wonder he becomes successful as a racer, and that's why the Grimness Book of Records chose him to become a werewolf for our race," Brunch understood the choice of Shaggy becoming a werewolf.
"Oh, I get it now," Crunch gets the idea.
After they looked at the teen's records, they continued on observing him through his afternoon classes until he is done for the day. Shaggy is being approached by his girlfriend, Googie.
"Uh, Googie, what's up?" the lanky teen asked.
"Just asking if you want to go out with me tonight," the blonde-haired girl wondered.
"Well, I was thinking of going to the movies. Let's have a date."
"Okay, Shaggy. It's a date."
With their plan for tonight, Googie gives Shaggy a kiss before walking forward to get prepared.
"Bwhat now?" Crunch asked.
"We go to where he'll be going for tonight. To where he is going to watch movies," Brunch replied.
The Hunch Bunch went to the Batcopter to follow Shaggy at a drive-in theater. They saw him buying tickets in advance.
"Now that we know where he's heading for tonight, our reconnoiter is complete, Crunch," Brunch said sinisterly. "We can't possibly fail the third night."
"Yeah, bwahahaha!" Crunch laughed in agreement.
