Hmm, so it's been several years since I've written anything. Lemme fill anyone who's still strapped in for the ride with what's been up. I went to college to study engineering. I got an internship and adult life started and brought along with it tons of stuff. Some of you may have received a notification on posting new chapters for this story. They aren't new, I was replacing some old ones. I wanted to fix a few things. I thought about changing a name or two: Thunderpaw and Alphapaw. I kept Thunderpaw's name as it was. I changed Alphapaw's name to Applepaw. That way it's a more legitimate name for a cat who's clan born. Anyway, do not expect more updates soon for anything. I will, however, be posting artwork related to all my fanfictions on my deviant art profile. I believe the link to my gallery is in my profile page.

A quarter moon passed since Dawnpaw had voiced her concerns about her incoming motherhood to Timberclaw. A quarter moon had passed since Dawnpaw had felt happy. Now her world had shattered into a million pieces that she would never be able pick up again. Her life had changed so fast; first she was an apprentice, then she became a mate, then motherhood arrived and now, here she was standing in the far west corner of RiverClan territory. Dawnpaw stood over top of the earthen pit she dug herself. Her normally pure white paws were smeared with mud and her claws were torn and dulled down from the effort. Slowly, the silvery gray she cat turned around. Timberclaw stood behind her, his emerald eyes looked glazed over and dull. Dawnpaw mused that they almost looked as bleak as her own dark amber eyes. The brown tabby pushed some reeds and tall grass aside; his paws slowly brushing over the greenery. He grasped a small, gray bundle in his jaws that had previously been hiding among the plants. He placed it next to Dawnpaw. He did the same for two more striped bundles. Dawnpaw wanted to avert her gaze from them, but she couldn't. She pushed the three bundles of fur closer to her and the pit in the earth. The she cat flinched as the soft fur of the bundles touched her filthy paws, leaving some residual mud on them. Dawnpaw carefully pushed the first bundle into the pit. It fell quickly to the bottom with a soft thud. Dawnpaw reached over for the next when Timberclaw pushed her paw away, picked up the next bundle and carefully placed it in the bottom of the pit. He briefly glanced at Dawnpaw as if it say, how could you be so cruel to them? Dawnpaw just gazed blankly back, her dark amber eyes numb. Timberclaw shook his pelt a little in response and let Dawnpaw place the last bundle next to the previous two, then he began scraping dirt into the pit overtop of the bundles. Dawnpaw hesitated before joining him. Soon, the three bundles disappeared beneath the earth. Dawnpaw made no effort to stop the tears that fell from her eyes. Timberclaw let out a short sob before sprinting back towards the direction of camp as fast as his legs would carry him. Dawnpaw stood still and silent. Part of her didn't want to believe the scene before her was true.

This has to be one giant nightmare. I have to be asleep in the apprentices' den awaiting my next training session. I can't be in this reality where I'm burying my stillborn kits while my mate cries out enough tears to fill the whole late twice. I just can't be.

Dawnpaw slumped down into the dirt and closed her eyes. Then she opened them again, hoping she would awaken in her nest with Shinepaw's and Hawkpaw's snoozing forms lying next to her. Instead she was greeted with the same world she was stuck in. She was still lying beside her kits' grave that she had dug herself where she carelessly pushed the bodies into the pit with her mate who also happened to be her mentor.

Not that they could feel their bodies hitting the earth. They were dead before they even came into this world.

Unable to hold it back any longer, Dawnpaw let out a cry of anguish before sobbing into the already wet ground. She sniffled and rose to her feet. Without blinking the tears from her eyes, she ran. She didn't care where her legs took her, she just needed to be as far away from her kits' grave as possible. Dawnpaw leapt over stones and crashed through the tall grasses that lined Riverclan territory. She felt her body turn and continued to sprint across the rapidly approaching clearing. Soon, grass and reeds transformed into towering pine trees. Marshy ground studded with brush surrounded the gray she cat. Dawnpaw stopped to take a breath beneath a pine sapling. The air was heavy with the scent of pines and musty cat smell.

ShadowClan territory. Great, I ran straight into the middle of an enemy clan's land. A patrol is going to find me soon and I might as well let them kill me.

Dawnpaw sniffled and whimpered. More tears blinded her. She ignored the rustling of fallen pine needles and the swishing sounds of the bushes moving beside her. She didn't care who found her now. The RiverClan apprentice's ear flicked and her nose twitched. A familiar scent filled her nostrils. Her tear filled eyes detected a blurry, cream colored figure. Bright, ginger paws prodder her pelt.

Emberpaw.

"Dawnpaw?" The ShadowClan tom started. Dawnpaw didn't respond to him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be home? What about your-…" Emberpaw stopped himself, eyeing Dawnpaw's newly slimmed belly and mud covered paws.

"No…" Dawnpaw managed to whisper. Emberpaw embraced her. The she cat welcomed the warmth and familiar scents surrounding her.

"I'm so sorry, Dawnpaw." Emberpaw whispered softly. Dawnpaw sobbed again.

"I have to go," Dawnpaw stated. Emberpaw made no motion to stop her. Dawnpaw leapt away from him. Emberpaw jumped after her.

"Where are you going? Your territory is that way!" Emberpaw called out. Dawnpaw didn't even turn to face him.

"I can't go back there yet!" Dawnpaw nearly yowled between gasps of sorrow. Emberpaw followed his RiverClan friend. The two apprentices weaved around pine trees and stray rocks. Emberpaw tried to herd Dawnpaw towards the lake. "At least come over this way if you're going to make it to ThunderClan lands. The midnight patrol will be arriving soon!" Emberpaw meowed. Dawnpaw diverted route along Emberpaw's. Soon, the cream and ginger tom stopped just before the ThunderClan border came into view. "I promise I'll cover for you. I'll lead the patrol away from your scent. Just promise me you'll come back this way in the morning!" Emberpaw yowled. Dawnpaw stopped in her tracks and looked back at Emberpaw. She nodded briefly and then bounded deeper into ThunderClan territory. Emberpaw quietly watched his friend disappear into the brambles that littered ThunderClan's lands. He closed his eyes and barely whispered to himself.

Breezepaw, I pray to StarClan you can hear me. You need to find Dawnpaw before a patrol does. She needs you. Badly.
