Chapter three
My eyes fluttered open and I turned my head to look at the clock that rested on the bedside table. 2pm I had slept in later than I expected but that wasn't unusual me and Kat spent most the night watching bad movies before hitting the hay about 5am. By that time Grace was already awake getting ready to leave for college, why she got up early was beyond me I hated mornings.
Rolling out of bed I made my way to the wardrobe in the corner of my room dodging all the art supplies I had left out. Now the big decision is what to wear?
Pulling out a black denim skirt and black crop top I decided that was going to be my look for the day. I grabbed my sketch pad off the floor and some pencils and joined Kat downstairs who was jamming out to some rock band while making food.
-Time Skip-
We had arranged to meet Grace at the boardwalk last night after she finished college. We'd been in Santa Carla just under a month now and still hadn't had a proper night on the boardwalk yet.
Kat and I arrived at the boardwalk, it was pulsing with people it seemed to al it was almost as if no one slept in this city. As we made our way through the crowds of people we finally spotted Grace at that the video store we agreed to meet in front of last night.
We'd had such a good night so far, first we went on some rides maybe a few too many times then we should have, followed by food at some questionable takeout. Now all that was left to do was go shopping ready for tomorrow night, Kat had seen a poster saying there was going to be a live band playing tomorrow night that she just had to see. Yet our night of fun was cut short.
There stood in the middle of the crowd was a small boy, he looked around ten; he wore a grey outfit and had medium brown hair.
"Star! Star!", he called out a look of worry across his face as he frantically looked around for this Star person.
Looking over to Grace I could see she wanted to go over and help the poor boy, I couldn't blame her I felt the same way.
"Hey sweetie are you lost?", I asked him in a calm voice trying not to scare him off.
"I've lost my sister Star and I can't see my brothers", tears spilled down his cheeks, my heart felt for the little guy he must be so scared.
"Do you want to come with us and we can play some games and have a look for your brothers?" Grace said approaching the boy and asked.
Looking up at us he smiled and nodded, Grace let out a little squeak. She bounced from her spot on the ground and grabbed hold of his hand and started chattering away to him while they walked towards the rides. It seemed to cheer him up. He'd stopped crying and was now giggling away with Grace, listening to them talk I managed to overhear him say his name was Laddie.
Some time had passed and it was almost as if the crying incident had never happened, Laddie was sharing his candyfloss with Grace while they sat on a bench in the middle of the boardwalk. It had been at least an hour and there was no sign of "Star" or Laddie's brothers, or so we thought.
"Laddie?" A cold icey voice sounded from in front of us, causing everyone to look up.
There they were the four boys from the other night, this was the first time I was able to get a good look at them all, and damn was they good looking. Even though three of them were blonde each had their own style and unique aura about them. The first was clearly a rocker, tall, with wild blonde locks and a cheeky grin that said I'm bad news but you still want me, just Kat's type I thought.
The second standing next to the rocker was another blonde, he looked the youngest of the group. He had soft curls and tanned skin, he wore the most amazing jacket that I had ever seen and I just had to have. He wore a grin but this was different from the first boy, his was angelic but held a sense of mischief behind it like a cheshire cat.
The next boy had long dark hair, and a dark complection. At first he could have been mistaken for the leader but he wasn't, he seemed to have a sense of wisdom about him, yet lacked clothing but I don't see anyone complaining.
Last was the leader you could tell he was with the confidence in every step he took towards us, his voice even though it was one word held so seriousness. His icy blue eyes never looked away as he held eye contact with us, his platinum blonde hair didn't move as a breeze blew the rest of our hairs around.
"David" Laddie exclaimed throwing his popcorn and running to the David.
"Where's Star, Laddie?"David asked the young boy, who just shrugged his shoulders in response.
David tussled Laddies hair before he ran off to the boy with very little clothing on. Turning his attention back to us his eyes began to scan over the three of us before his eyes rested on me and a mischievous smile plagued his lips.
"Hello there girls, thank you for looking after our brother" David said with a hint of cockniess.
"Maybe if you weren't being so full of yourself, we wouldn't of had to" Kat spat back stepping to him.
"Feisty one isn't she", the wild blonde said elbowing the curly blonde.
"Yes I am, now piss off" Kat said with so much confidence, she didn't like the fact our night had been ruined.
"Ouch, that was cold girl, we just want to say thank you" wild said stepping forward with his hand on his chest.
Kat scoffed at his response by this point she had figured out that these were the four guys I was on about last night and by the look on Grace's face she also knew. Meaning Kat was about to have an argument with four vampires in the middle of the boardwalk.
"What's going on here girls" Amy voice said coming from behind the boys.
Stepping from behind the group she was now in front of them turning her back to us. This made Kat step back as Amy squared up with David. As I looked around I noticed others had started to stop and stare and a small crowd had started to gather, David and the other boys clearly noticed this as well. Slowly looking Amy up and down he took a step back and smiled once more before waving the boys to follow him.
Once they were out of sight Amy turned back to us.
"So that was the little vampire group you was on about" she wasn't asking more stating a fact as a smile crept on her face.
