Chapter 5

(Marko's pov)

We arrived back at the cave not long before sunset, there we all fell into our routines. Paul went to his position of sitting on the fountain with a joint in his mouth,Dwayne was in the corner reading one of his books, David was sitting in his wheelchair which I'm certain he loves more than us, Star and Laddie went off to bed it had been a long day for them both.

I took a seat on the tattered couch not doing anything just thinking, all I could think of was Kita it was the first time in a long time that I had actually gotten to know a girl. Most of the time when a girl showed an intrest in any of us is because she wanted one thing and I'm not complaining I get sex and a easy meal. It was just with Kita I didn't want it to be that, I wanted to know more about her, I wanted to see her art work, talk about where she grew up in Italy and definitely see who the better cook was, I had cooked a real italian meal in so long. Then my mind also wondered when she finds out how she would react? Would she still want to talk to me? Heck I know what would happen… I must have been thinking a little too loudly because David's voice broke the silence in the cave.

"Marko is there something you want to talk about", his gloved hand resting on his cheek as he looked at me from his chair.

I looked at him and waited, did I want to tell him? It was David he would understand wouldn't he?

"I'm waiting Marko"

Dwayne had looked up from his book clearly interested in what I had to say.

"I'm not sure, I was just thinking about Kita and how she's different from most girls here and it got me thinking." I had to pick my words carefully, I didn't want to piss David off.

"Sounds to me like you like this human? " Raising his eyebrow slightly David then sat forward

Did I like her? Well I did like her company but was that it did I like her more than that?

"I'm not sure" was all I said.

"Well you weren't very subtle with your thoughts Marko. I think you do care for this girl otherwise you wouldn't be worried about what she thought of you once she found out?" David spoke again.

"If anything I'd say you'd want to turn her?"

I nodded once more, David smiled and looked at Dwayne he returned his smile.

"It seems little Marko is in Love" David teased

"Love is a big word, I like the girl" I started.

"Marko if you're thinking about turning her and it isn't to play with her then you're in love" Dwayne added.

"Maybe you've found your mate" David said.

"I thought that was just a myth" Now I was more confused than before.

"Why do you think the big guy is always dating humans? His hoping to find the one" Dwayne answered once again

It did explain why Max was always on dates with mortals but I couldn't be sure. Before my mind could start spirling again David announced it was time to rest the sun was coming up and the mouth of the cave still allowed some light to enter. As we walked to where we slept Paul joined me at my side.

"Bud just so you know I was thinking the same thing but about Kat" I looked up to the wild rocker, I've not heard Paul be so serious before then it hit me we've fallen hard.
