Chapter 6: Christmas Break part 2

Sorry about there being so much time since last update, mind you it doesn't feel like that long. There are a few things in this chapter which hopefully foreshadow the future events. I wonder if you'll be able to guess what they are? HAHAHAHAHA! Anyway, I'm pretty sure the a change part 1 will be longer than the original.

Enjoy reading...

The next morning after eating breakfast, they all gathered the bags and things they wanted to take to Diagon Alley to help shop with, and now were gathered just in front of the fireplace. They were getting ready and were about to leave, with only Asriel yet to arrive. They were going to do their Christmas shopping in Diagon Alley, but they didn't want to leave until everyone was ready.

"Frisk, Snow, do you two want to go now? Don't go too far, though: we will be right behind you, but delays can happen," Asgore asked as Asriel, the last person to arrive, came into the room at a run.

The two girls nodded and moved forward to take some floo powder. After they both grabbed some, with Frisk going first, both girls left for Diagon Alley. Asriel, for some reason, decided he would go next, despite Asgore saying he was going to go next. None the less, after the two girls, Asriel went through the floo.

"Harry, do you want to try going through on your own?" Toriel asked. Harry shook his head, so Toriel said holding her hand out, "Alright, you better come with me again."

Harry and Toriel walked into the fireplace with Toriel grabbing some flew powder. Then she threw it into the air while crying, "Diagon Alley!"

After the spinning action of the floo, Harry felt very dizzy and did not notice the feeling of stopping or him getting dragged out. "Oh dear, it seems we will have to stop and get you some glasses while we're here shopping," Toriel said, giving a small sigh.

Harry, feeling confused about what she said, and he brought his hand to his face and found his glasses were broken, barely held together. "Good idea," he said shyly.

When Asgore had come through the floo, they moved on into Diagon Alley. As the brick wall disappeared, Asriel asked, "Are we going to Gringotts first?"

"Yes," Toriel nodded.

"I have just realised I do not have my key!" Harry exclaimed suddenly, wondering what he was going to do.

"That reminds me: here, Dumbledore sent it last night. This is yours, look after it," Asgore said, pulling out a Gringotts key and handing it to Harry.

"This is mine! Great! Thank you," Harry cried happily.

"Don't lose it, though," Toriel warned. "I've heard the goblins don't like replacing keys when people lose them."

"I won't," Harry nodded, holding it closer.

While Harry was being given his key, Snow asked Asriel and Frisk, "Have you decided what you're getting everyone yet?"

"Yes," Frisk nodded.

"I have. But I'm not telling!" Asriel said defensively.

"We were not asking you to," Snow said, surprised by Asriel's defensiveness. It was the tone she spoke in suggested she wanted that, not that Snow knew it.

"Come on, you three!" Toriel cried. They looked up to see Asgore, Toriel and Harry had already begun to walk away and if they did not hurry, they would be left behind. They quickly followed, crying and screaming all the way.

As they had decided already, the first stop was Gringotts. They arrived at Harry's vault first, and while they were there, Harry had the idea to ask about the lower numbered vaults. The answer he got was: "They are for the really old families. If the family dies out, and or has no relations come and claim themselves as part of that family for fifteen years, long enough any children have the time to grow up and find out about their inheritance, then we empty it out and put someone else in there. We keep most the continence for our selves, but some Hogwarts has an interest in, such as the Slytherin family, which means they get some of the money for their orphan student fund."

Snow and Harry were the only ones who understood what the goblin said though: what he said went over everyone else's head, though Frisk sort of understood it.

"What now?" Snow asked the adults of the group.

"We will split up and meet up at the Leaky Cauldron in about an hour," Toriel responded.

"Alright," Asriel, Snow, Frisk and Harry nodded. Then after a few questions were asked they split up and went to different shops all over the place.

"Don't forget to get new glasses!" Toriel called after Harry. He nodded and went to the only store in the whole place that sold glasses and could make them up while he waited.

{[(-_-)]}

Snow's first stop was Ollivander's wand shop. She got Draco and Frisk wand servicing kits, and Harry and Neville wand holsters. Snow, Asriel and Frisk all had wand holsters, and they were invisible to all except to the owner, which mean it could be worn everywhere, anytime, and having their wand stolen was not likely.

Then she headed to Flourish and Blotts and Nightshade: the two bookstores in Diagon Alley, though Nightshade was half in Knockturn Alley. There were some other bookshops in the other alleys, but these were the ones she was allowed to go to.

Between the two stores, Snow brought several books on resurrecting the dead, as she, Harry, Draco and maybe Padma, were going to study, then presents for several people. If the four of them couldn't do anything with the books, she'd give them to Toriel and Asgore and say they brought the books for them in the first place.

She got Susan a book on politics that was supposedly from the Founders time, (Nightshade had an old and rare book section,) and Hermione a book on Broadening the Mind; hopefully, she would be a bit more open-minded after reading it, and a bit more bearable.

For Frisk, she got a book on cosmetics applied by charms. Snow knew Frisk wanted a book like that so she could have make-up, but she was too afraid to ask Toriel and Asgore for some money for one, because she was afraid of what they might think, plus they would not get it, monsters no having that sort of thing. Snow, on the other hand, knew these things and she, being a human knew about these things. Snow decided to buy her a make-up set, too: she could bound with her roommates this way.

Then Padma: she got her a book on Palm Reading due to her culture, and Luna a book on the creatures only she seemed to be able to see. She brought Fay a book on becoming the world's best Auror, knowing that was the Gryffindor's life long dream. Other than grabbing a pair of other older books, she got a Wizard History for her parents, as it sounded interesting.

Then she met Frisk and Harry at the Quidditch Shop, and the three of them put money together to buy Asriel a Nimbus 2000. Harry wanted a broom, but considering First-Years were not allowed them, and it was only sixth months until the Nimbus 2001 was going to be released, he decided to wait.

After purchasing that and asking for it to get delivered to Harry's room, they split ways again. Snow went to the sweet shop this time, it was her last stop. After that, she would head to the Leaky Cauldron and wait for everyone else to finish shopping and meet them there.

She brought her friends their favourite sweets, then some for Daphne, Parvati, and Blaise as well. Despite not knowing Parvati at all, Snow felt like she should get her something. From Padma, she knew Parvati loved Rainbow Marshmallows, (turned your lips the colour of the marshmallow,) so she brought her a packet of those.

After making sure she a gift for everyone, Snow went up to the Leaky Cauldron. As she passed the bricks, she heard what might have been an explosion and she looked behind her, but she could not see anything. After finding out she was the first back from the Bartender, Tom, Snow went and found somewhere to sit and wait.

A man passed Snow and went to the floo, but she did not notice him until she saw a book had -magically- spawned on a chair the next table over. She looked over to the fireplace to see the man just as he was leaving.

He looked slightly transparent but had black hair and grey eyes, or so she thought. Just before he disappeared, they locked eyes for a second and Snow found herself briefly feeling some familiarity towards the man, which was crazy since she had never seen him before. He was the closest the person to the table and chair the book appeared on, so she decided it must belong to him.

Snow got up and examined the book, it was called, "Alola, and its Ancient Peoples Prophecies and beliefs," and the first thing she noticed was it was very old. Snow did not look at even the first page, despite the fact she was tempted because it was not for sale or her book, nor was she invited or offered the chance to read it. Instead, she went to the bartender and asked him about the man, and if he knew anything about the man who had just left.

Tom said, "There was no man who came through and used the floo: I would have heard the floo, and seen him as he went by."

"Are you sure? You could have missed them, and he dropped this book," Snow suggested.

"Not possible: I see everyone who comes through. Now you sit down and wait for your family," Tom said testily. Snow nodded and returned to her table, seeing the bartender start to get a bit short with her. Not being able to resist, she started reading the book.

After they split up, Harry brought his new glasses, then went to 'Flourish and Blotts,' and got Asriel a book on quidditch written by one of the world's most famous players, and Snow a book on telekinesis, because she was interested in learning it, although not many people actually try to learn it because it's very hard, Snow wanted to try.

He got Hermione a book on Introducing Muggle-borns to the Pureblood culture because she was interested in knowing about that culture. Harry brought Susan a book on Advanced Potions, as she was very good at Potions and was on track to go up a year or two more than the year she was in, then get a mastery early. Harry toyed with getting Snow one too, but he decided against it.

While he was at the bookshop, he got Fay a complete set of Auror Spy Books, written by a particular person she was a big fan of. He brought Padma a book on creative charms: he thought she would enjoy it, and it was the type of book she would like. He didn't know Padma that well in the grand scheme of things, so it was hard to know.

Then he went to the quill shop, where he got Draco a very handsome eagle feather quill, along with a pot of ink. While he was there, he gave one of Hedwig's feathers to the man, to turn into a quill, (which was going to be mailed to Harry).

Then Harry met up with Snow and Frisk at the Quidditch shop, where they brought that broom for Asriel, then while Snow went to the sweet shop and Frisk Flourish and Blotts, he went to the gardening shop and got a few different sorts of plant seeds for Neville and Frisk.

Harry decided to go to Nightshade next, by the suggestion of Snow, where he met Asriel and they went into together. Asriel bought quite a few books, but Harry only got one book: he got a book on wandless magic for Luna. Though he found another book for himself in the rare finds' section he could not resist.

"Hey, Asriel?" Harry asked just before he and Asriel parted.

"Yeah?" Asriel asked.

"What do Toriel and Asgore like sweet wise?" Harry asked.

"Berty Bots Every Flavour Beans for dad, and Chocolate frogs for mum. Are you almost done shopping?" Asriel responded then asked.

"Almost," Harry nodded, and the two parted ways.

After buying sweets, Harry went to try and find someone, one of his friends or the senior Dreamurrs hopefully. He found Toriel, Asgore and Frisk at the small Healer's clinic here. That reminded him he should go and get his eyes looked at, as maybe they could fix his eyes so he didn't need glasses. The first thing he had done earlier was gone and get some new glasses, and a spare set by the suggestion of the witch working there.

"What happened?" Harry asked worriedly. He saw none of them looked hurt, which was good, and he became less worried.

"We were walking past the Potion shop when a potion exploded: we were lucky we got out of it fine, just the Aurors wanted everyone to come here and get a check-up, and wait to be questioned. We can leave now, though," Asgore said.

"That's a relief. Shall we go and find Asriel and Snow now?" Harry asked. The other three nodded, they left and went down toward where Harry had seen Asriel go. They found him and then they headed up to the Leaky Cauldron, where they met Snow and Asriel, then they went home.

On Christmas Day, Snow was the first up. This was not unusual generally, and especially not on Christmas Day. It was a tradition that on this day, she or Asriel would get up and make breakfast for everyone. Usually whoever didn't make it, like Asriel for this occasion, would be up second, though.

A bit before nine-thirty, Asriel surfaced as Snow had expected. "Happy Christmas, Snow," Asriel said cheerfully.

"Happy Christmas, dear brother of mine," Snow responded. Then she asked, "When do you think the others will be up?"

"I heard sounds in Frisk's room, but none from any of the others," Asriel responded. "But Frisk is a light sleeper, so I probably woke her up when I was getting dressed and making my bed, considering our rooms are right next to each other."

"Great. Can you and give them all an Asriel special? Just a yell to get up for Frisk, though," Snow asked. She hastily added, "Unless she's out before you get there."

"Sis! That worked when I was six! I don't even know how it works!" Asriel exclaimed, not wanting to do it again, as he was finding it embarrassing at his current age.

"Just do it," Snow said rolling her eyes. Frisk entered then.

"Merry Christmas," Frisk said, announcing her presence, wondering what the other two were on about, but she didn't ask, knowing it was something unimportant if those two argued.

"Happy Christmas!" Snow said brightly.

"Oh yes! Sorry! Happy Christmas," Frisk said, going red.

"Happy Christmas!" Asriel exclaimed cheerily, procrastinating.

"Asriel," Snow growled after a second of silence.

"Alright, alright! I'm going!" Asriel exclaimed, throwing his hands into the air. Then he left to go and get the remaining three up.

"Is he going to wake everyone up?" Frisk asked, and Snow nodded.

A few minutes later, they heard loud voices. "Always works like a charm," Snow said under her breath.

"Hey Frisk, can I tell you something secret?" Snow asked out loud.

"Sure, I keep a secret or even multiple," Frisk nodded, feeling curious about what it was.

"Sometimes, I feel like a very far away world is calling me," Snow stated.

That was not what Frisk was expecting. "What do you mean? And if another world is calling you, what does it mean?" Frisk asked, wide-eyed.

Then they heard Asriel coming back! "We will continue this another time," Snow said quickly, and Frisk nodded, not daring to complain, but very curious about what more she had to say.

"Going to be down in five, or so they say," Asriel said coming in.

"Thanks. Fortunately, that is exactly when breakfast is going to be ready," Snow said with a mysterious air. Frisk was confused: how could she be so sure?

"Snow, don't do that! It creeps me out!" Asriel cried, looking crept out.

Snow and Frisk just laughed. Asriel glared at them before laughing too. By the time Harry, Asgore and Toriel came down, they had all bit calmed down.

"Happy Christmas," the trio cried as they entered.

"Same to you. Everyone is here, good," Snow said, serving the food onto plates. "Because breakfast is…" she placed all the plates on the table. "SERVED!" Snow cried the last bit as she slapped the last plates onto the table.

"That is something Papyrus would do," Asriel stated.

"Well, put it this way, I am getting ideas from him," Snow said smirking as she sat down. The others soon followed suit.

"I am looking forward to seeing that lot today, speaking of Papyrus," Frisk blurted out. Papyrus brought out the other side of Frisk, and everyone liked that. No one disliked Papyrus, despite the fact he could be annoying.

"Yeah: they were fun last time," Harry nodded shyly.

"Can we open presents after breakfast?!" Asriel asked his parents.

"After washing up," Toriel stated.

"Which must be yours and Frisk's turn," Asgore added.

"Hey! No fair!" Asriel cried like a tantruming spoiled five-year-old. He did that almost every time they asked him to do a chore like this. By this point in time it was starting to get old, and Snow, mainly, just rolled her eyes at him. Frisk was in a similar boat to Snow, but she would never show or voice it.

"Well, Harry's our guest, Snow made breakfast, Asgore and I normally do the washing up, and it's hardly fair Frisk has to do it on her own, is it?" Toriel said, after sighing. She really wished he would stop this behaviour, he was getting a bit old for this.

"I suppose your right," Asriel said, sulking.

When they finished eating and everything had been taken over to the sink, Frisk and Asriel washed and dried, while Toriel, Asgore and Harry chatted at the table and Snow watched. "Asriel! Dry faster! I am running out of room!" Frisk exclaimed annoyedly.

"Leave me alone!" Asriel cried moodily, going even slower.

"Maybe someone wants to spend the rest of the day in their room?" Frisk said, knowing if Asriel kept it up, that would be his fate. It didn't change anything though.

"Hey, Asriel: they quicker you dry the sooner we can get to the presents," Snow said smirking. She was in the doorway, leaning on the door frame as a Malfoy would.

"What? Oh yeah! Good point!" Asriel cried. He suddenly started drying very fast. Frisk meanwhile, turned and mouthed a thank you to Snow.

When everything was away, they moved to where the Christmas Tree was. After gathering around, they sat down and opened presents. Everyone got one or two gifts to receive and get from each other, and one from all their friends.

The last gift opened was for Harry. It was very soft, like an item or garment of clothing. They soon started speculating on what it could be, well the none-adults did, anyway. After being told for him to hurry up, Harry said after reading the card, "There's no name on it!"

"Open it!" Asriel insisted for the third time.

Harry did, and what came out was quite a disappointment: it was an old cloak. "Oh just what I always wanted, an old cloak. Hopefully, it's warm," he said sarcastically. "But it belonged to my father, though, which is nice."

"Can I see it?" Toriel asked. Harry looked at her strangely before handing it over.

"What does the card say?" Snow asked as Toriel examined the cloak.

"It says:

Dear Harry,

This belonged to your father, it was left in my possession shortly before he died. Use it well."

"What a cryptic note!" Harry exclaimed after reading it out.

"I'll say," Snow said, unimpressed by it.

'What does it mean? Shouldn't you have gotten it years ago?" Asgore asked.

"I would have thought so. And what does it mean, use it well? I suppose it will keep me warm," Harry wondered, feeling bamboozled.

"You also have something your father wore, too. That must make it special?" Frisk added.

"I have got it! Harry, put it on," Toriel exclaimed, handing it back.

Harry and the rest of the children all gave her an odd look, but Harry did as asked. As he put his cloak on, his body disappeared! "it's an Invisibility Cloak!" Frisk exclaimed.

"I can see what they meant. Well, I won't do anything I don't have to with it," Harry said, and the two adults nodded in approval.

While Snow and Harry talked Invisibility Cloak, Toriel asked Asriel, "What's this thing happening at Hogwarts that no one wants to talk about? Is it also the same thing Susan wouldn't let you tell me at the station?"

"Huh?" Frisk asked.

Oh. Well, during a Gryffindor Vs. Slytherin match, Professor Quirrell tried to kill Harry. Though, Hermione, Fay and Neville think it was Professor Snape. But we all except for them saw them both muttering-and there's something dodgy about that defence teacher," Asriel quickly said: this was after looking a little uncomfortable.

"There are other odd events, though. Like, Luna found Hagrid in a few odd places, and we eventually found out he had a dragon egg. When Draco told us that it had hatched, we were all for going and helping, until he said Ron was there.

"So, we just ignored it, but Ron got bitten on the hand by it, or so we think, and Draco stumbled across a meeting time for getting rid of the dragon. He went to head them off with Professor McGonagall, but they both, meaning Ron and Draco, along with Ron's two friends, ended up with detention in the forest. Because they were out for so long during the night, they imagined something completely bizarre and unrealistic drinking Unicorn blood in the Forest. But, of course, Hermione and Fay believe it's Voldemort in the forest," Frisk said quite chirpily. "Silly girls: they have big imaginations, too."

"Which is ridiculous, because he is dead! No matter what people say, once you've been burnt to ash, you are dead," Snow exclaimed.

"But some of those Gryffindors have lost it, even our friends sometimes. Remember Hermione telling us about Ron's tale of there being a three-headed dog in that forbidden corridor?" Harry said, shaking his head.

"That one is slightly more likely, I have to admit," Snow said.

"I hope not: or I am going to be questioning the school's safety," Toriel exclaimed, horrified.

Snow looked at the clock then. "Unless you want to go to the others house in your pyjamas, I'd suggest changing," Snow pointed out. She had changed when she had gotten up, along with Frisk and Asriel.

"Oh, good idea," the others who hadn't changed said. They quickly got up and went to get dressed.

While they did that, Snow reflected on what she had read in the book since she found it. It was taking her a while to read it because the writing was very old. What she had worked out, is, her charm comes from this world, the world the book talks about: the Pokémon World.

It had a photo in it, which showed a jewel exactly like the one Snow was wearing. The charm was given to the Ancient Kings who bowed to the Legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo and Lunala. In the end, Snow decided that it had ended up being drawn into this thing called an Ultra Worm Hole, then ended up in this world, where her parents found it and gave it to her as a birth present. While her guess was close, she would have never believed the truth until the truth was undeniable.

About then, the others had returned from getting changed, and they headed to the house their four closest monster friends shared. Christmas at Alphys, Undyne, Sans and Papyrus's place was an extremely merry affair. They had nice food, good laughs, and the children got to play fun games with Papyrus.

Harry enjoyed the games, having never played many: the Dursleys nor Dudley ever let him play games, and most the time there were none done at school, either. For some reason, despite the fact they were kids, the first-years of Hogwarts didn't get many games to play. He meant games like twister and hopscotch, not Quidditch, despite how fun it looked.

Sans asked Harry at one point during the day, "What do you think of Slytherin?"

"I think people often misjudge it-it's a great place, and I am glad I met Snow and she told me a bit more about it," Harry responded.

"Aww, thanks, Harry!" Snow called, touched.

"Good answer," Sans meanwhile said, winking.

"I wish you wouldn't do that: it gives me the creeps," Snow commented, with a slight shiver.

"Hey, you'll get used to it," Sans shrugged.

"AT LEAST HE'S LAID OFF THE BAD PUNS!" Papyrus said, oblivious to what they had been talking about.

"I have good news about that: I have a whole set aside for tomorrow," Sans said joyfully.

"OH NO!" Papyrus said facepalming.

"Now you've done it," Frisk giggled. She very rarely let herself giggle.

When they got home that evening, Asgore asked Harry, "How did you enjoy that?"

"Would you do it again?" Asriel asked. Asriel and Frisk loved it so much they had to basically drag them away.

"Yes, in a heartbeat," Harry nodded.

"That's nice, and we will keep it in mind. We should all head to bed now, though. Merry Christmas, everyone, I hope it was a magical day for all," Toriel said.

"Merry Christmas!" all except for Harry and Snow cried.

"Happy Christmas!" the last two said. Then they all went to bed, feeling quite tired. Harry reflected on the Dreamurrs' bar Snow saying Merry Christmas. He guessed they must have come from America or Australia where that was like saying Happy Christmas, whereas Snow must have lived in England most her life: she said most the same things he was used to, and what she didn't he put down to her picking it up from the people around her. With that, he turned over and went to sleep.

In case you haven't noticed, I've tried to share the 'knowing' things around a bit, or take them away from Snow. I had fun editing this just before posting listening to pokemon music. Speaking of which, feel free to suggest ideas for the pokemon part of the story.

Goodbye!
