Christmas Break
Chapter 24
'She's late.' Ginny said to her boyfriend as she stood in the garden of Grimm auld Place wrapped up in a thick coat and scarf.
'I'm sure she'll be here…..soon.' Harry replied as Hermione appeared in front of them.
'Oh god.' Hermione said as she felt her feet touch the floor. As Hermione opened her eyes and looked at her friends she knew exactly what was going to happen and it did. She threw up.
'Hermione!' Ginny shouted as she reached her friend rubbing her back. 'Are you okay? Harry go get Mione some water.'
'I'm fine.' Hermione replied as she wiped her mouth looking at her friend.
'No you're not! You're deathly pale! Come on let's get you inside.' Ginny replied to her friend dragging her inside leaving Hermione's suitcase and bag in the garden.
'My bags.' Hermione said weakly as she let her friend drag her inside.
'Harry will get them.' She reassured her friend.
'Here Hermione.' Harry said as he handed Hermione a glass of water.
'Thanks Harry' Hermione said as she sat down on the leather sofa.
Hermione sipped the water carefully willing for it not to come back up. Hermione's morning sickness was getting worse and now being six weeks pregnant she knew, from reading of course, that it could get even worse for six to twelve weeks.
'Have you been unwell Mione?' Ginny asked as she sat next to her friend.
'Kind of.' Hermione replied. She didn't know whether to tell her friends yet. She hadn't discussed with Severus about telling their friends about the baby but felt she needed to tell her closes friends. 'I'm….I'm pregnant.'
'Pregnant?!' Harry screeched.
'Harry' Ginny scaled as she looked at her boyfriend.
'Snape moves fast.' Harry mumbled.
'It takes two to make a baby Harry.' Hermione replied
'Don't.' Harry said holding up his hand. 'I don't want to think about you and Snape.'
'How far are you along?' Ginny asked Hermione.
'6 weeks…today.' She replied as she placed the water down on the coffee table.
'Does Snape know?' Harry asked looking at Hermione.
'Of course he know. Severus came to New York last week after I told him.' Hermione said as she looked between Harry and Ginny.
'And how has he taken the news?' Ginny asked.
'He's happy.' She replied with a smile. 'We're both happy.'
'I'm happy for your Hermione.' Ginny said she hugged her friend. 'Another niece or nephew for us!'
Hermione hugged her best female friend but kept her eyes on Harry who wasn't giving away much.
'Harry.' Hermione said as she pulled back from Ginny.
'It's just a shock Hermione.' He replied. 'I was just getting use to you seeing him and now you're having a baby with him.'
'I know Harry.' She replied. 'It wasn't something we planned but it has and we are going to be a ….family.'
'Is he going to marry you?' Harry asked.
'We haven't exactly discussed marriage.' She replied. 'It's a bit soon for that.'
'But not too soon to have a baby?' Harry replied. 'I'm sorry Hermione, it's just a lot to get my head around. I've got to go to work. Will you be here when I get back?'
'I'm going to Hogwarts this evening and then going to Severus' home for the Christmas break.' Hermione replied. 'I was hoping to bring Severus to the Burrow for Christmas if he'll come.'
'That'll be lovely!' Ginny replied.
'Sure.' Harry muttered. 'See you tonight Gin.' Harry said as he walked out the living room.
'Sorry about him.' Ginny replied. 'He's just in shock.'
Hermione nodded. 'Do you mind if I go now to Hogwarts Gin? I just need to see Severus.'
'Of course. The floo is open.' She replied. 'I need to get back to the Burrow anyway.'
'Can you not mention the baby to anyone else.' Hermione asked as she stood up.
'Of course.' Ginny replied. 'It's your news to share Mione. I really am happy for you.'
'Thank you.' Hermione said as she hugged Ginny.
Severus opened the door to his private chambers and pulled off his black robe. As soon as he stepped in to the living room he noticed a navy suitcase and a large black handbag. Instantly he knew Hermione was somewhere in his rooms.
Severus made his way through to his bedroom and opened the door to find Hermione asleep in the middle of the bed cuddled up to his pillow. He walked towards the bed and sat down on the edge. He moved his hand to her face and softly called her name.
'Hermione.' He whispered.
Hermione's eyes fluttered open to stare into dark eyes she knew well. 'Hi.' She whispered back.
'What are you doing here?' He asked. 'Not that I'm not happy you're here but I thought I was getting you from Grimmauld?'
'I came here after sharing our happy news with Harry and Ginny.' She replied. 'Harry wasn't so…pleased for us.'
'What did he say?' Severus asked her darkly.
'It doesn't matter.' She replied as she sat up.
'It does to me.' He replied as he looked into her eyes. 'Show me.'
Hermione turned her head away from him knowing he wanted to perform legilimency on her.
'Hermione.' He said as he reached out to touch her cheek.
'Severus.' She replied as she looked him straight in the face. 'He's just shocked that's all. It's very quick, we know that but Harry's just struggling to come to terms with this'
'I'll be having words with him the next time I see him.' Severus replied standing up.
Hermione scrambled off the bed to stand beside Severus although it was to quickly for her weak body resulting in her becoming dizzy.
'Careful Hermione.' Severus warned as he grabbed hold of Hermione's shoulders. 'Have you eaten?'
'No.' She replied leaning her head on his chest. 'I can't keep anything down. Your baby makes me sick.'
'My baby?' He asked with a smirk.
'Yes, your baby.' She replied with a smile on her face.
Severus leaned down to Hermione and placed a kiss on her lips. Hermione melted into his kiss and felt his arms wrap around her encasing her in body.
'I've missed you.' She sighed as she pulled back from him.
'I've missed you too.' He replied kissing her head. 'Now, let's get you something to eat and get to Spinner's End.'
