Chapter 20:
He stared at the older man, unable to move or to at least avoid his father's hand. It's been almost millennia when the last time he saw Rigr. He is absorbed in his own world by observing the changes to his father's physical traits. His beautiful blond is dyed with black and his once crimson eyes are as dark as his hair colour. What caught his interest is the scent of the man. He smells slightly off. Ferid's grin curved up.
"It's been awhile Father" Ferid greeted, long silver fringes covers his crimson eyes.
"Your mischief is causing me a lot of trouble Ferid" Rigr chuckled. He ducked his head as Urd attacked him.
"Is that so? Are you going to kill me now?" The young vampire asked. Am I worth it now? He thought.
"If I do that will probably trigger into another trap, am I right?" Series of chains came from Rigr's arms and tying both Ky and Krul while Urd dodged almost everything except for one knife-like chain.
"You might regret not killing me while you have the chance so which one is the correct answer? To kill or not to kill"
"Ferid Bathory!" Krul hissed. Not aware why Ferid seemed thrilled at the idea of Rigr Stafford killing him but whatever it is, the child is surely drowning in despair and for whatever reason that they will never know.
"Oh dear" Ky just stared at the young vampire.
"You are no longer a vampire" Urd grabbed Rigr's arm and he sliced it, freeing Ferid.
"What about you? How long are you willing to follow the man who abandoned you?"
"He abandoned you too"
"Indeed. Only Ashera Tepes is important to him. In the end we are all nothing but dispensable pawns"
"You hate him"
"So do you"
"Silence"
"Still stoic as ever. No wonder he never fancied you, Brother. Anyway, I am not here for you" Rigr's chains pulled his child till he is an arm' length.
"So you are behind the Seraph of the End experiments" Urd accused. The vampire king of Russia summoned his sword and allowing it to drink from his blood.
"Ahahaha where is your proof?" Saito laughed, the door slammed open revealing Lest Karr.
"Lord Geales!" Lest Karr paused, the short king went back as soon as he can when he heard the ruckus. To his surprise, he saw none other than the missing vampire king, Rigr Stafford.
"Lest Karr, stop Rigr from taking Ferid!" The Russian king ordered while he, Ky and Krul are still dodging the series of chains.
"Y-Yes" Dutifully he answered. He wants to impress the vampire king of Russia and idiotically pulled out his sword.
"You are in my way— who might you be again?" Rigr arched one dark eyebrow unable to remember the brat's name. He tightens his grip to his son's throat. Dark colour eyes stared coldly at Lest Karr's short form. The dual coloured king did not even have the chance to sway his weapon when his arms were ripped off from him. Body was sliced horizontally by the second progenitor's bare hand. Later on, he diced the poor thing into tiny pieces.
"?!" Lest Karr yelped the pain started to crawl all over his body and before his brain can register what is even happening, all his body parts scattered everywhere. Rigr left Sanguinem and abducting his direct progeny.
"Ferid" Mahiru hissed, aware of what her partner is thinking. The woman has to stop him.
"Tch" The stoic vampire king clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"What shall we do now m'lord? Should we follow him?" Ky asked their superior. He eyed through the corner of his eyes upon asking Urd of their next move.
"Stay still Ky Luc. Krul Tepes are you aware where could that man go?"
"I am afraid not but I know someone who might be able to help us"
"…" The three royalties talked among themselves, ignoring the scattered pieces of Karr as the child tries to pick them up and stick his own body back. A child-like jealousy is written across his face. Not only Urd ignored him, Ky and Krul became closer to his superior.
Shinoa and Mika were both tasked to do a few errands for their progenitors outside Sanguinem along with a few foreign vampire commoners like them. The two newborn vampires are still clueless of the attacked that happened in the capital. Crowley was ordered to bring Chess and Horn with him as they accompany the unit that Urd deployed to search if there are still JIDA livestocks who are roaming free. Once they see one, they were tasked to get rid of them on the spot. The thirteenth progenitor was reluctant at first but no one will dare to go against the Second Progenitor and thus, here they are in a small tone taking livestocks and searching for JIDA's remnants.
"Awww! I don't want to walk anymore" Chess Belle huffed childishly.
"Keep searching Chess unless you want to get into trouble for going against Lord Geales' order" Horn scolded the young-looking vampire lady.
"Ladies no fighting. Not now" Crowley sighed. He always wonders why the two needs to argue every single day.
"Look at the livestocks as they run" Lacus snorted while they are watching the others capturing the new set of livestock.
"Keep working Lacus" His friend Rene said. "If they saw you lazing around, you'll be punished"
"…" Mika and Shinoa halted. They both sensed living people inside the tunnel. They summoned their own weapons.
"Die vampireeeeeeeeeeeees!" The group of humans ambushed them or at least they tried to do so but Mika and Shinoa are both quicker than them and thus it resulted in one-sided massacre.
"Oh" Crowley saw how Ferid and Krul's children slaughtered the livestock before them. Shinoa pique his interest a lot especially that she is Ferid's progeny. The man rarely has any. The last human he turned was killed by Yuu. The seventh progenitor is a meticulous man and he is quite picky in turning anyone into a newborn vampire so Crowley was so curious on why Ferid seemed in a hurry in turning Shinoa when they found the girl half dead.
The vampires are checking for any livestock that they can use as their food source when Crowley and the rest saw what Kureto Hiragi did to his own sister. They looked the humans with disgust. So greedy and ugly that is what humans are. After failing to execute their plan properly, Kureto run like a coward with the rest of the remaining JIDA livestock. They left their friends who are dying or dead. They heard Mikaela Hyakuya convincing his friend to join their side but young Yuu declined him. The two ended up having an argument which resulted to complete misunderstanding. Yuu fled like everyone from his group. Mika was so upset and he is on his way to where Krul is barking orders when he found the violet haired girl from Yuu's group. The child is dying. Mika dragged her mercilessly through her hair, ripping off a few of it.
"Mika" Krul stared at the child and the wounded body he dragged with him.
"She's one of them. I want to ask for permission to get rid of her" Mikaela said.
"Do whatever you want" Krul paused. Mika's blade is about to kill the half dead girl when Ferid grabbed Mika's wrist and he broke it whether it is accidentally or purposely, no one will ever know.
"Ferid Bathory" Mika snarled.
"That livestock is mine, Mikaela Shindo-kun" Emotionless crimson eyes met Mika's own. Mika for the first time after 4 years felt the same fear he had on that accursed day wherein Ferid killed his family.
"Nothing is yours here" The newborn vampire spat which earned a disapproving glare from the vampires surrounding them even Krul.
"Is that so?" Ferid gripped Mika's fully healed wrist and the next thing everyone heard is a sickening crunch of bones. Ferid glared at the newborn pup. "Know your place Mika. You forgot who you are talking to." He let go of the boy who is whimpering and holding his broken arm. Ferid stepped closer to Shinoa.
"Save her" Mahiru whispered into his ear.
"Hiragi Princess, you must be in so much pain. How does it feel to be betrayed by your own kind?" Ferid asked the half dead girl.
"Die" Shinoa panted. The pain is slowly lulling her to eternal sleep. Not even Shikamadoji can help her right now. The wounds that Mirai in her seraph form inflicted on her are not totally healing.
"You are very interesting. I will make you part of my clique. One drop of my blood and you'll be reborn" Ferid smirked, he crouched down.
"N-No!" For a half dead person, Shinoa tried to at least fight in anyway as possible.
"I am not asking for your permission, little lamb" He bit his tongue and inner cheek, blood trickle at the corner of his lips. He grabbed the back of Shinoa's head and forcing her to sit so he could do his next plan. Without wasting time, he pressed his lips into the dying girl and forcing his blood into the girl.
"?!" Shinoa was too surprised when the vampire kissed her. The next thing she knows is that she can taste the metallic taste of the vampire's blood into her mouth. Her whole body felt as if it is burning. She tried to scream but the progenitor's lips muffled her mouth. Tears trickled down her cheeks as her human body is slowly changing.
"…" Krul never saw Ferid changing anyone according to his will. The child is way too picky in creating a progeny. Only Crowley and one commoner was turned by him so far but they were turned because Urd ordered him to find a progeny of his own. A small fang of jealousy washed over her. She's always been aware that Ferid fancied her and for another girl to catch the seventh progenitor's attention, Krul is displeased.
"Make sure to handle my child with care" Ferid throw the unconscious Shinoa roughly into Mika's arms and he walked to where Krul is. He leaned into the queen's ear. "Jealous?" He chuckled. "You don't have to because you are the only one for me" Teasing her while whispering in a sweet sultry tone. "I will always be your loyal dog."
"Die bastard" Krul puffed her cheeks in annoyance and yet she somewhat felt calm when Ferid reassured her that he'll stay with her till the end of time. They used to be friends. Ferid as a human took a liking towards the vampire queen. His feelings deepen when Rigr left the newborn vampire Ferid without a patron. That time, he was still a half vampire who doesn't want to be a pureblood monster so he was forced to drink from Krul who volunteered to be his patron but in return he'll become her loyal dog.
Crowley stared at the strongest and the second strongest vampire of Japan with curiosity. He's always been aware that Ferid is smitten to the vampire queen but he is not sure if Krul even reciprocate it but whatever their relationship is, it is quite complicated and too twisted for him to understand.
"Wait isn't that Ferid-sama's new pet?" Chess asked Horn who is staring at the girl too.
"Don't call her pet in front of Ferid" Crowley sighed. "You'll get us into trouble"
"She's been rumoured to be her favourite child and the only one that Ferid-sama ever turned according to his will" Horn muttered.
"Oh? That boy is the queen's child right?"
"Yes"
