Sequel to Cursed: Rat or Bear?. Might be a bit scary as the first one. If you haven't read the first story, then you'll have no idea what's going on with Fidget and may find him out of character. If you have, then you'll get a clear image what is going on with Fidget. If you find the first story too intense to read, don't read this one. Enjoy! Dedicated to MajoraDreeurr52 (also known as Dragonmask), who reviewed Cursed: Rat or Bear?.

It had been a month since Fidget was in the bear curse and thanks to Ratigan, who caused it to happen. Thankfully, all of that was stopped and thanks to Basil, who found the cure in a book he and Dawson checked out from the library.

"Fidget," Dawson said, interrupting Fidget's thoughts.

"What?" asked Fidget.

"I returned the cure for animal curses book from the library by myself since Basil wouldn't," Dawson said, slightly annoyed by Basil's arrogance and refusal to help him return the library book.

Fidget laughed. "Yeah, you know Basil," he agreed, "Always thinking about a case, as usual." Of course, for Basil, that was the natural order of things.

"Fidget," Olivia said. "Want a bear hug?" She leaped into his arms for a hug.

Fidget chuckled again, unable to resist the hug. Why would he? It took his mind off the curse he'd experienced in the past month for now.

"Anyone want to take a walk to St. James Park?" Basil suggested.

"Yeah!" everyone else exclaimed.

At the park, the very spot, where he transformed into this monster gave Fidget bad memories. The terrifying night Ratigan drank the vial he made himself, turning into a vile bear and biting Fidget in the wing when Fidget tried to stop him. Yet he was lucky Olivia came to defend him, but sadly, Fidget ended up turning into a bear. It wasn't his fault. That night, Basil bandaged his wing and Fidget had a nightmare about him becoming a savage bear. Basil comforted him by making him drink tea, but Ratigan woke Fidget up, causing Fidget to yell at the rat to go away. The next day, Fidget was held under the care of the Flavershams and Toby, enjoying his time with them and was relieved to hear that Basil had a cure, but was frightened on getting a needle. Thankfully, Olivia was there with a cheese crumpet and Basil shot Fidget with a dart and drew out blood, making Fidget return to normal. Even though he was cured, he almost got killed by Ratigan. There were three barbarities in his tea and Ratigan nearly drowned him in the Thames after tying him to an anchor. Before the rat got a chance to drown the bat, Basil and the others stopped him and there was another battle that night when Fidget and Olivia bit Ratigan and won. Basil gave a vial of the cure to Ratigan and when Ratigan was still the hideous monster that he was, even though he drank it, Basil shot him with the silver bullet.

"Fidget, are you alright?" Basil asked Fidget.

Fidget gasped, not expecting him to jump on him like that. "Basil, you scared me!" he protested.

"Sorry," Basil apologized, "I'll bet you still remember the curse you had." Then he rubbed his temples to get his thoughts together. "I still have more medicine leftover for the cure."

"Can we at least check where Ratigan keeps the vials?" Fidget asked.

"But Ratigan's gone," Basil told him, "I shot him, but I suppose we can see if he still has any more left."

In Ratigan's lair, Basil and co discovered there were two glass vials left. "Fidget, ready to dump them?"

"Ready as I'll ever be, Basil," Fidget replied with a grin. "Or should we smash them?"

"Even better," Basil said with a wink and the two of them smashed the vials one by one.

Fidget let Olivia on his back and the two went for a walk. For once, Fidget was happy that he was no longer in the curse. "Thanks to all of you, now I feel so much better to be free of the bear curse."

"That's what friends do," Olivia assured him and the two rubbed noses against one another.

The way home went smoothly and Basil had poured the vials of the cure for the bear curse.

They hugged Basil as a "thank you" for the cure and they bade the trio goodnight as they made their way to Fidget's room, since Olivia planned on sleeping next to him to keep him company.

Basil brought both of them tea. "This should help you sleep," he said, giving them tea.

"Thank you," Olivia said.

"Thanks a bunch," said Fidget. Then they sipped their tea and went to sleep.

Breakfast time, Basil asked, "Did you two sleep well last night?"

"Yes, Basil," Olivia replied.

"That we did," Fidget said proudly.

"I dreamt that I turned into a bear cub," Olivia stated.

"Not a vicious one, I hope," her father said.

"Oh, no, Father," Olivia assured him, "A gentle one. I was riding on Fidget's back."

"Was Fidget a bear in your dream, too?" Basil asked.

"Yes, Basil."

"Like the walk last night?" Mr. Flaversham prodded.

"Yes, Father, but then Basil had a cure for both of us."

"And I'm sure Basil helped with that," said Dawson.

"He did."

The next month or two, Fidget finally recovered and forgot about the curse.
