And Joey remembers
So this is my first fanfic, so forgive me if it is no good but I very much hope you readers will like it. I do not own anything and I am making no money from this, it is just for fun. All rights and characters belong to Clive Barker and other respective owners and creators.
Now that is done, this short fanfic is about Joey Summerskill's life after the events of Hellraiser 3 and her memories of Elliot. (I want to cry already and I haven't even started typing it yet). So, let's begin.
Joey's career took a different path after the traumatic events that had led her to realise that her life could mean something. She had faced fear and danger and overcome it with the help of a man whose memory now lingered in her heart. Now all she had to face was loss. And when she was sad she remembered
"You're stronger than you think", trusting kind blue eyes with a certainty in her that she never would have been able to succeed without. A certainty that no one else had ever had. And then she'd pull herself together for him. The eloquent, compassionate, broken Captain who had an inner strength greater than any man she'd ever met, but who's sanity and belief in life and even himself had been destroyed by the atrocities he'd had to endure in the trenches of the western front. The barren shell of which she'd witnessed when she'd crossed into his window. The limbo of a broken ghost.
She'd only known him for one night. But she'd never forget him for the rest of hers, or that gentlemanly wan smile of resigned acceptance of his fate. A ghost kept alive through her memory.
She used her career as a reporter to make awareness of the broken soldiers who came back from war. The many wars that have come since, and the atrocities in which they have to endure. And made a charity to help those people. Joey Summerskill made her life mean something, by making sure unlike Elliot had, those broken men have somewhere they can turn to. She did it for him, to remember him by.
"You're stronger than you think" she remembered, and the kind sincerity in that memory, that faith in her. That faith in her that he had was the only thing she had left of the memory of a ghost to whom she had somehow given her heart. Her broken angel.
"You're stronger than you think" and as it turned out, he was right.
Finish
Please be gentle as it is my first fanfic and I would absolutely love it if you would review. Very scared right now. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that you enjoyed it.
