A Push to Talk

Ever since that slushee had been thrown, they'd all been in a daze, especially Sebastian who ended up hurting the last person he'd ever want to hurt. Yet with Blaine being the gallant man he is, went to push Kurt out of the way. While they'd all tried to act as though they didn't care, the moment they were gone from the scene, emotions hit in full force. Easy as it would've been to point the finger, they'd all been involved in one way or another. Knowing they were the last people Blaine would probably want to speak to; David reached out to Wes, giving him all the sordid details of what happened.

Needless to say, Wes was less than happy to hear what had happened yet could strangely understand how a prank could go so horribly wrong. Hearing the remorse and worry in David's voice, Wes agreed to reach out to Blaine on behalf of the Warblers. It didn't surprise Wes when he heard how drained Blaine sounded when he called him. After Blaine told him what had occurred, Wes felt his heart sink, but was grateful to hear that he should be okay. After talking for a bit, Wes finally brought up the Warblers and told Blaine how horrible they felt. The moment Blaine responded if they were so sorry, why didn't they call to check on him, Wes explained why. While Blaine's emotions could certainly get the better of him, he could understand why they were giving him space.

The two ended up talking for almost an hour, by the time they needed to end it as Blaine was getting tired. Wes told him, he'd talk to David and let him know it was alright for them to reach out to him. Before saying goodbye, Wes told him he'd be seeing him soon as he'd be coming home the next weekend. From that point, Wes immediately called David back and filled him in, in regards to what was happening with Blaine. After that was done, he told him it was all good for them to start reaching out to Blaine, but to beware that the conversations might not be pleasant at first, something that didn't surprise David.

After getting off the phone with Wes, David called an emergency Warbler meeting knowing this would be information the guys would want immediately. David was counting people when he noticed one person was inexplicably missing, Sebastian. His look immediately went to Thad who happened to not only be his best friend, but his roommate as well. Thad didn't even need a question to tell David that Sebastian was back in their room sleeping. A couple of the guys asked why he didn't wake him, but those close to Sebastian knew Thad made the right call as Sebastian hadn't been sleeping well since it happened. According to Thad, every time Sebastian would close his eyes, that moment played out and Blaine's screams were ingrained in his mind, instantly waking him. While he seemed a bit better after his sister had come to visit, clearly it wasn't everything he needed.

Slowly but surely the guys began reaching out to Blaine, first by text because of what Wes had told them wanting to make sure he got his rest. From that point, the phone calls soon began and then they were coming to visit him, much to Kurt's dismay. Yet anytime he spoke up, Blaine's parents told him that it wasn't up to him who Blaine had as visitors, it was up to Blaine. Once they'd all gone to visit him, Thad sat on his bed after talking with Jeff and realized not everyone had gotten in touch with Blaine. "Care to tell me why you haven't called him?" Thad stated as he looked at Sebastian who was sitting on his bed studying for his history exam. "Sebastian?" When he didn't even acknowledge him, Thad got up from his bed and walked over to Sebastian and snatched his book from him.

"What the hell Harwood?" Sebastian snapped as he glared at him. While his eyes were cold, they were most definitely tired, proof of the lack of sleep he'd gotten. "Give me my fucking book back!"

"Not till you answer me! Why the hell haven't you called Blaine?" Given Sebastian's demeanor, Thad was probably the only one of the guys that had the guts to lash-out at him in this manner. When Sebastian merely glared at him, Thad crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm waiting."

"How do you know I haven't and he told me to jump off a cliff?" Sebastian blurted out.

"Because I just came from his house and from what he's told me and Jeff, you haven't reached out to him." This time when he spoke, Thad softened his tone a bit as he realized why Sebastian hadn't. "You need to talk to him Sebastian."

"Why, so he can make me feel worse than I already do?" Sebastian replied. "While some might not believe me, I'd change places with him in an instant if I could."

"I believe you, that's why you need to talk with him Sebastian."

"I'm the last person on this planet he wants to talk to after what I did."

"Sebastian, don't sell Blaine short, alright." Thad said to him. "He's spoken to and seen all of us; he knows this wasn't all your doing. Sure, you threw it, but we all took part in one way or another." He then watched as Sebastian's focus moved from him, to his bed. "If I didn't believe he wanted to talk to you Sebastian, I wouldn't have said anything."

"I'll text him."

"No, you're going to go see him." That response caused Sebastian to look at Thad once again. "The two of you need to be face to face with each other."

"I'm sure Hummel would just love that." Sebastian mockingly replied.

"For your information, if you go after classes it won't be an issue since Hummel has rehearsals after school." When Sebastian looked at him, Thad continued. "Blaine told us himself as he doesn't need the stress of him seeing us as you know he'd throw a conniption fit."

"Please, tell me something I don't know." Sebastian said to him, making Thad laugh yet the look he continued to give, showed he wasn't backing down. "Fine, I'll go see him."

"Good, as hopefully once you do you'll stop beating yourself up for what happened."

"Unlikely." Sebastian said in response, as he wasn't sure if he would ever be able to forgive himself for hurting the one person he cared about.

Over the next couple of days, Thad began to notice an accumulation of items on Sebastian's desk. Upon closer look, he realized these items weren't for him, but they were for Blaine. After their last class of the day, Thad made his way back to their room and found Sebastian placing the items into a basket. "You know, you didn't need to get him anything." Thad stated causing Sebastian to look over his shoulder at him. "But it's okay if you felt you needed to."

"Considering I almost blinded him, it's the least I can do." Sebastian replied. "Plus, I'm supplying him ample items to throw at me should be deem fit."

"He's not going to throw them at you."

"We'll see. Now, you have the song list for rehearsal today, correct?"

"I do. Don't worry, just because you're not going to be there we'll still rehearse as if you were." Sebastian nodded and then proceeded to change out of his uniform. "Do you know how long you'll be gone?" Thad asked as Sebastian put on everyday clothing.

"I could be gone as long as an hour, meaning he kicks my ass out shortly after I arrive or…"

"You'll stay as long as he'll have you." Thad finished for him earning another nod from Sebastian. "Fair enough. Just remember, don't get defensive should he voice his frustration."

"Don't worry, I won't. He can say whatever he wants, as I deserve it." While he replied, Sebastian tucked his shirt into his jeans. "Well, time for me to finally come face to face with him."

"Does he know you're coming?"

"Yes." Sebastian then walked to his desk and grabbed the basket of things he'd bought for Blaine. "I'll see you later."

"Good luck Sebastian."

"Thanks." With that said, he was on his way to Blaine's.

During his walk down the hall, more than a few people noticed how he was dressed as well as what he was carrying. Tempting as it was to stop him and ask what was going on, no one said a word. When Thad made his way into the Warbler common room approximately ten minutes later, everyone was already there and waiting. "Something going on that I don't know about?" He asked as he began to hand out the music for that rehearsal.

"Where's Sebastian going?" Trent asked as he was handed his music. "Thad."

"To see Blaine." After he responded, one could've heard a pin drop on the hardwood. Thad then looked around and saw that all eyes were on him. "Are you really that surprised?"

"Honestly, yes." Nick said in response. "Ever since it happened, he's barely spoken a word about it."

"That's because he's been too busy beating himself up over it. Now, even with Sebastian gone, we're going to go about rehearsal as usual."

"Are you sure we should be doing that?" Jeff asked.

"Positive, it's what he requested. Also, I have no idea when he's going to be back. But a word to the wise, don't ask him about Blaine once he gets back unless he says something first." They all nodded as they knew that pushing Sebastian to talk when he didn't want to, ended up putting them on the receiving end of a verbal smack down.

While this was going on at Dalton, Sebastian was approaching the Andersons home and the sickening feeling in his stomach had returned. After pulling into the driveway, he made his way out and grabbed the basket from the back seat before heading for the door. When he rang the bell, he knew there was no turning back as he was finally going to be seeing Blaine after what happened. Once the door opened, he told the woman who answered that he was there to see Blaine. She invited him inside, but asked him to wait as she needed to go up and check if he was up for visitors.

It felt as though she'd been gone for quite some time, but soon she returned and told him that he could head on up. With a look of confusion on his face, she told him where to go once he reached the top of the stairs. Sebastian thanked her before making his way up the stairs. When he reached the top of the staircase, he made his way towards Blaine room which had the door opened. The dimly lit room was just as he'd been told about as Blaine was light sensitive at the moment. With a light knock on the open door, he was told to come in.

Once he was inside the doorway, Sebastian saw Blaine sitting on his bed with an eyepatch over one eye. "Blaine, it's me, Sebastian…still want me to come in?" Sebastian said hesitantly as he wasn't sure if he could tell it was him.

"Yes." Blaine replied and soon Sebastian walked further into the room till he was standing at the bottom of Blaine's bed. "I was beginning to believe you'd never contact me."

"I didn't think you'd want to hear from me. How are you?"

"I've been better." Blaine said in response as he sat up a bit more. "Is that for me?" Sebastian nodded before leaning forward and placing the basket in front of him. "You can sit you know." Even with a chair nearby, Sebastian sat down on the bottom of Blaine's bed. "These are some of my favorite things Sebastian."

"I…I know."

"How'd you…"

"I paid more attention to what you said when we spoke than you realized." Sebastian told him. "There's also two things of gel in there as I'm pretty sure you go through a lot." When Blaine laughed softly, it helped Sebastian to relax a bit. "I'm so sorry Blaine, the last thing I ever wanted was for you to get hurt."

"Yet you were willing to hurt Kurt." Blaine stated as he started to go through the basket.

"No one was supposed to get hurt; it was simply supposed to ruin his outfit. You believe me, don't you?"

"I do, as the guys all said the same thing. That doesn't make it right though."

"I know, and if I could change things, I would." Sebastian said as he watched Blaine's facial expression change with each item in the basket. "While this might sound wrong, would you just get it over with."

"Get what over with?" Blaine asked as he turned slightly so they were looking directly at one another.

"Telling me that you hate me and all the other things you're feeling."

"Is that why you bought me all this stuff, so I would hopefully not yell at you?" Blaine replied.

"No, I bought all that as a way of saying I'm sorry." Sebastian told him. "God Blaine, I haven't stopped thinking of you since it happened. I wanted to go see you in the hospital but I…I didn't want to deal with your boyfriend."

"Wise move as he's furious with you as well as the rest of the Warblers. He said that by you guys hurting me it proved you don't care."

"It wasn't meant for you."

"I know." Blaine told him. "Want to know what really hurt Sebastian?" Sebastian softly answered yes, knowing Blaine might not see him nod in the dimly lit room. "Not hearing from any of you."

"We thought we were the last people you'd want to hear from."

"I know, as Wes told me that. Yet not calling was making me begin to believe what Kurt said."

"Blaine, that couldn't be further from the truth! We were giving you space."

"As I said, I know thanks to Wes. Why'd you wait so long?" Blaine asked.

"Because I'm the one that threw it, and unlike the rest of the guys, I…" Sebastian stopped and ran his fingers through his hair as he thought of the exact words he wanted to use."

"You didn't think I'd forgive you, even if I forgave the others."

"Yes, that must sound selfish."

"It sounds human Sebastian. As long as we didn't speak, you still had hope."

"Not really, you could ask Thad as I've been beating myself up pretty badly over it. I was certain this would be Hummel's dream come true as you'd finally cut me out of your life."

"If you hadn't apologized, I probably would have." Blaine told him. "Not hearing from you really hurt me Sebastian."

"I'm sorry for that Blaine, and I mean that with everything I am. Obviously giving you space was wrong and I will do whatever I can to make that up to you."

"Is that so?"

"It is. So, where would you like me to begin?" Sebastian watched as Blaine tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms over his chest, clearly thinking of what he wanted from Sebastian.

"Do you have to head back to school for Warbler rehearsal or lacrosse practice?"

"No lacrosse practice today, and as for Warbler rehearsal, Thad is leading it so you're stuck with me if that's what you want."

"Alright then, play a game with me."

"A game?" Sebastian inquired.

"Yes, a game as I can't watch television or use a computer right now. And I can't really read without getting a headache. So, the only entertainment I have is cards or board games which I'm pretty certain my parents are getting stir crazy with even if they won't say so."

"Your Mom seemed nice."

"That wasn't my Mom, that was Mrs. Montgomery since my parents are at work. They couldn't take any more time off from work and didn't want me home alone. So, what do you say Sebastian…want to play a game?"

"Sure, how about a little strip poker?"

"Sebastian!"

"Hey, it wouldn't be me if I didn't say something of that nature." Sebastian replied as he laughed softly, as even in the dim light he could see Blaine blushing. "What can I say; you look dashing in your silk pajamas."

"You're incorrigible."

"I know, but without me your life would be boring, wouldn't it Killer?"

"You're right, it would be and I've gotten quite used to having you as a part of my life. I don't want to ever lose that Sebastian."

"Me either Killer, me either."
