The Legacy Has Arrived

Part 2

Even with as badly as they wanted to go to their boys, they knew they needed to give them time to celebrate this victory on their own. Unlike it had been for them there was security in place that was able to clear the way for them to get to where their boys were. While waiting out in the hallway for the door to open, it was obvious to all the siblings how anxious their parents were. "The door will open soon Dad." Ainsley said as she leaned against Sebastian as Juliette was tucked against Blaine given the hallway wasn't that big.

"I know, just as I know they need this time alone with no interruptions." Blaine replied. "After working so hard, you need time to process what truly occurred. While all of us only ever wanted them to do their best, those boys had unspoken pressure on them aside from what they put on themselves."

"Keep in mind, they all chose this." Sebastian reminded him. "This wasn't something any of us forced upon them."

"I never said we did. Merely, by doing so there was pressure on them simply because of who their parents are." Blaine then glanced down at Juliette. "You know sweetie, if you want to go wait with Grandpa and Nana we'd have no problem with that."

"I know." Juliette replied. "But I want to congratulate Devon as soon as I can." Her response brought a smile to her Dads' faces. "Where are Grandpa and Nana?"

"Waiting, with Grandma and Grandpa in the lobby along with all the other grandparents." Sebastian told her. "This chaos really isn't their thing anymore."

"So they came to see you guys too?" Juliette asked with big eyes, causing Blaine and Sebastian to exchange a look.

"They did, though only Grandpa and Nana as Grandma and Grandpa were in France." Sebastian said in response. Ainsley looked up at Sebastian who simply placed a kiss atop her head as this wasn't the time to explain to Juliette how things were back then. It wasn't as though it was a family secret, yet Sebastian and Lexi chose their moments wisely when it came to informing their kids of certain aspects of their upbringing.

When the door finally opened, Blaine got a good laugh as he saw Brody holding Rachel back proving that even though they'd gotten older, certain things were never going to change. If the look on Emily's face was anything to go by, she wasn't shocked by her Mom's behavior or her Dad's reaction. Once they made their way inside, each of the families found themselves a little space where they could talk with their sons. Watching his sisters wrap him up in a big hug, had Blaine and Sebastian beaming with pride. A sweet reminder that while they didn't always get along, there was no denying how much they love one another. So much so, Sebastian couldn't resist snapping a picture of the three which earned him an eye roll from all of them.

"Don't be so dramatic." Sebastian told them before slipping his arm around Blaine. "It was only a picture, and I'm not the only one taking them." Once he spoke, their eyes looked around and saw he was correct as all the parents were doing the same thing. "That was quite the set list." His words caused Devon to smile. "You could've at least told us you were soloing."

"I almost did, numerous times." Devon said in response. "Yet I felt if I did, you and Dad would start asking even more questions, particularly which song it was."

"He's got a point Bas." Blaine said with a smile as he looked up at him. "We would've."

"I was already nervous, so much so that Ben and I had numerous conversations about it." Devon told them. "Why do you think I asked each of you how you dealt with the pressure, knowing all too well one mistake could cost the whole group everything we'd worked so hard for?"

"Did what we say help?" Sebastian asked.

"It did, plus Ben gave excellent advice as I was worried how you'd react to the song." When Blaine and Sebastian laughed, all of their kids gave them a weird look. "What's so funny?"

"Know how Aunt Lexi seems to remember everything." Sebastian stated and the kids nodded as she'd shared a few stories with their kids that Blaine and Sebastian wished she hadn't. "Call her and tell her about what you sang, I bet she'll have a similar reaction. From there, ask her why she laughed." After that, neither were surprised when Devon slipped his phone out of his pocket and proceeded to call her. It didn't take long till he was laughing and staring at his Dads. Once he ended the call, he simply shook his head. "Now you know."

After that moment, Devon got everyone else's attention and proceeded to share the information he'd gotten. Finding out their Dads had almost sung the very song they were so worried about, only added fuel to the fire of how alike they all were. "We thought you'd think the song was too arrogant." Devon said to his Dads.

"Considering how people refer to you all, it was perfect." Blaine told him. "It also helped that you nailed it." While he spoke, Isabella had come up to them to congratulate Devon.

Slowly but surely the siblings and parents began making the rounds to congratulate everyone. "Did you ever think we'd be watching our boys go to Nationals together?" Rachel asked Blaine as the two took in the scene around them.

"I hoped it might happen, but we know all too well how hard it is to get there." Blaine told her. "They really were incredible Rach."

"They certainly were. And while I knew Devon could sing, seeing him up on stage was like watching you and Seb. Quinn had mentioned it after she came home from Sectionals, but it's another seeing it with your own eyes. The two of you must be so proud."

"We are, just as you should be."

"I am. Though I'm not going to fool myself, Jacob is more Brody than me, which is probably a good thing." The soft laugh that escaped her, had Blaine shaking his head. "You know it's true as I can be a bit high maintenance."

"You?" The tone in which Blaine replied had Rachel laughing once again. "How does it feel knowing your son, the Warbler, helped knock off the New Directions?"

"Surreal, at least I've had time to adjust. The first time I saw him in that blazer it was strange, yet at the same time it felt so right if that makes sense." Rachel told him to which Blaine nodded. "Unlike Brittany and Santana, Quinn and I had to look at things a bit differently as our boys weren't following in their Dads' footsteps. Yet the more we talked, it made sense as Max and Jacob look up to you guys. That doesn't even factor in how close all of our sons are. Quinn said the only reason Will didn't go, was because he didn't want to feel so alone. Even with Ben and Noah there, it's different when compared to Max. Will only saw them a few times a year while Max grew up with the others."

"Bas, Hunter, and I talked about that very topic a few times." Blaine told her as he glanced towards Sebastian who happened to be speaking with Hunter at that moment. "Yet I don't really think he objects."

"Especially the older he's gotten." Rachel added earning a chuckle from Blaine. "It's true. Most of us are surprised he hasn't dated any of the girls."

"To quote Bas, there is still plenty of time for that to happen. Personally, I'm thrilled that he actually has honest to goodness friendships with them, all of them. More than a few of his friends can't believe there isn't something going on given how close they all are."

"The only one nothing would happen with is Ava and Brianna, which is because they're cousins."

"Yet plenty don't know that." As the words were coming out of his mouth, Ainsley came walking up to him. A mere cock of his eyebrow let her know she could speak. Upon hearing she was invited to the celebratory party that evening he wasn't surprised given how close she and Ben were. "Did you ask Papa yet? After she shook her head, he looked towards where Sebastian had been and noticed he was now off to the side on his phone. "Is everyone else invited?"

"Of course, at least those old enough to be invited." Ainsley replied with a smile. "So, may I go?" Blaine looked around and saw Madison, Brianna, and Will all having what he presumed similar conversations with their parents. "Please Dad." The instant she batted her eyes at him, Blaine laughed.

"That doesn't work with me the same way it does with Papa." Blaine told her. "But yes, you may go. Where is this party?"

"The Wilsons', Noah is hosting. And before you ask, yes there will be adults present." The moment she said adults and not parents, he tilted his head. "Aiden is going to be there, it's the only way his parents would let him host as they know all too well what can happen."

"Since you said adults, should I assume Gabby will be there as well as Xander?" She nodded. "Alright, just remember that should you need a ride, call us, regardless of the time."

"I will, and without you asking, I'll keep an eye on Devon as well."

"Thank you."

Once all that was taken care of, she turned and smiled at the others letting them know she could go. Knowing for certain there was going to be a party, Rachel excused herself to go speak with Jacob who was with his Dad. Shortly after she walked away, Sebastian returned and slipped his arm around Ainsley. "Was there something you wanted to ask me Princess?" He asked as his eyes scanned the room for Juliette, who was over with Arianna and Santana.

"Yes, but since you were on a call I asked Dad."

"What is it you answered B?"

"She wanted to know if she could go to the celebratory party tonight, I told her she could." When he cocked his eyebrow, Ainsley laughed as Blaine shook his head. "We covered everything Bas, relax."

"Where is it?"

"The Wilsons'." Ainsley replied. "And Aiden will be there." Sebastian's eyes immediately went to the other side of the room where Aiden stood beside Flint. From what he could tell, his Dad was giving him quite the talk which made him feel quite a bit better. "As will Gabby, Bella, Liz, and Xander."

"You will call us for a ride home." Sebastian stated in a rather no-nonsense manner. "No crashing at the Wilsons or anywhere else." Ainsley was about to speak but Sebastian kept going causing Blaine to simply smile. If anyone thought he was the over protective one of the two, they had another thing coming. While Blaine was protective of their kids, Sebastian was more so. After going through his usual speech when it came to her going to parties, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head and she simply smiled up at him. "You'll make sure Devon doesn't do anything stupid, right?"

"Yes, I already told Dad I'd keep an eye on him Papa." After she replied, Blaine took his phone out of his pocket to take a call. It wasn't long after, he got off, did he call Devon and Juliette over towards them. There were a lot of names being called as it seemed Blaine hadn't been the only one to take a call.

"Before you run off to celebrate with the guys, your Grandparents would like for us to go out to dinner." Blaine told Devon who cocked his head. "It's not going to last long Dev, and this way we know you actually have food in your stomach before you go to the party." When his gaze went to the floor, Sebastian nudged him bringing his eyes back to Blaine. "We're not stupid Devon, we know there's going to be drinking. We only ask that you're smart about it."

"I thought we were doing something with the Grandparents tomorrow."

"We're going to." Sebastian told him. "That doesn't mean you can't do something tonight as well. It's not often they have us all here."

"True. You'll drop me off at the Wilson's afterwards?"

"Yes, well drop you off at Noah and Lucas's afterwards." Blaine told him. "So, should I tell Nana it's a go?"

"Yes." Devon said with a smile. "Do you think that we can go that the Italian place I love, Nana knows the one?"

"Considering it's you we're celebrating, I don't see that being a problem." Blaine replied before calling his Mom back.

It wasn't long after that all the parents gathered the boys for a group picture with the trophy before everyone headed out to dinner. Once the picture was taken, Blaine smiled as he glanced over at Wes as Hailey was taking a picture of her boys around the trophy, much as everyone else already had. "Is Gabby coming with us?" Juliette asked as she looked up at her Dad as they waited to exit the room.

"No, I think she's going with Xander and his family." Blaine replied. "But you'll get to spend time with her tomorrow." Those additional words brought a big smile to her face as Sebastian looked at him. "You'd think after all this time you'd be used to it Bas." Ainsley couldn't help but laugh at Sebastian's expression.

Sebastian was about to speak, but no sooner did he opened his mouth did he close it as his comments were not suitable for in front of their children. "Since your sister and brother are going out tonight, what would my angel like to do since she's got Daddy and me all to herself?" Sebastian said as he knelt down beside Juliette. The way her eyes went wide so reminded Sebastian of Blaine when he was excited about something. "You have time to think about it, okay?" She nodded before taking ahold of his hand. A sense of calm seemed to rush over him, bringing a smile to Blaine's face. For as troublesome as his childhood had been, Sebastian made up for it in spades with their children making each one feel special in their own way.

Once they were out in the hall and headed towards the grandparents, all of the guys couldn't help feel a keen sense of déjà vu as their boys were acting much as they had years prior. Thankfully by the time they reached them, most of the lobby had emptied out as all the grandparents were wanting to take pictures. Seeing their boys handling it so well, was a relief as they knew how badly they all wanted to go eat so they could get to celebrating. With the rest of their kids all talking as this was going on, Sebastian seamlessly slipped his arms around Blaine from behind and rested his head on his shoulder. "He really was incredible, wasn't he B?"

"Yea he was. Rachel said he reminded her every bit of the two of us up there."

"Mike said something very similar to me, along with the fact that he's impressed by how Devon's handled the pressure." After he spoke, Blaine turned his head slightly and was met with a kiss to his cheek. "According to Zach, the expectations were quite high for him coming in. Told his Dad that he isn't sure if he would've been able to handle that sort of pressure."

"Having a strong support system, helped him, though I can understand where Zach was coming from." Blaine said to him as he relaxed in Sebastian's embrace. "For him, Max, and Jacob they didn't have to deal with the legacy label the others did."

"That's what Mike told him, as our boys went in knowing certain things were expected from them. Devon simply didn't realize so many truly expected him to be us, when he's him."

"Luckily for him, it didn't take him long to figure out he didn't need to be us, only him."

"We have Ben to thank for that Killer as he reminded him of that fact often."

"That's something I'm well aware of and according to Wes, he's done it all of his own accord."

"Does that really surprise you B?"

"No, as Ben is so much like his Dad." After he spoke, Blaine felt another kiss to his cheek. "We all really lucked out that our boys are as close as we are."

"Don't I know it." Sebastian then lifted his head up as he spotted Rachel before them. "What can we do for you Rach?" Seeing her look at bit hesitant and the way Jacob was standing over near Brody they had an idea about what this could be about. "Rach, what's going on?"

"You guys are letting Devon go to the party tonight, right?"

"Of course we are." Blaine told her. "Why?" Yet the moment her gaze went down, Blaine knew what this was about. "Jacob's a smart kid Rach, he's not going to do anything stupid."

"Brody said the same thing, it's just…"

"If it makes you feel better, Ainsley will be there as will a bunch of the older kids." Sebastian said to her. "But B and Brody are right, Jacob is smart. You need to let him figure things out for himself Rachel, much as we all did."

"I know." Rachel replied. "Since we're staying at my Dads, do you think it would be okay if he called you should he need a ride? I mean, we'd come and get him but it would be quite the ride."

"Of course." Blaine said in response. "But I have a feeling he'll most likely crash with the rest of the guys as it's sort of tradition."

"Still, I would feel better knowing he could call you."

"He knows he can always call us Rach, you know that, as does he." While he spoke, Blaine reached out and took her hand. "Face it Rach, he's growing up."

"Trust me, I know." The sound of her voice caused Sebastian to laugh. "Nice to know you find this humorous Seb."

"I do considering you gave me such a hard time when I was freaking out about Ainsley growing up." When she smiled, Blaine gave her hands a squeeze. "Keep in mind what B told me, you have to trust that you've set them on the right path."

"I know, it's just hard. Did I tell you that Finn told me Christina thinks all the Warblers are cute?" They each shook their heads. "Well she did. I told Quinn, Brittany, and Santana, and Santana simply shook her head before saying she wasn't surprised as all our boys are good looking."

"She's got a point."

"I know, it's just…"

"Rachel, it gets easier, trust us." Blaine said to her.

"Quinn said the same thing."

"She's right. Is there anything else we can do for you?" She shook her head. "Then go tell Jacob you're okay with him going."

"He was always going to go, it's just…"

"You weren't sure about him staying all night." She nodded. "Go tell him it's okay. And if he does something stupid, view it as a lesson he's learned and talk to him about it." Rachel nodded once again before kissing each of them on the cheek before returning to Brody and Jacob.

"Jacob having Brody's confidence is going to be a learning experience for her." Sebastian said causing Blaine to nod. "But she'll get through it, like we did."

"Are you really ready for Devon to date?"

"No, but it's only a matter of time." Sebastian told him before releasing his hold and then taking his hand. "Looks as though the grandparents are now done so we can go this show on the road."

Throughout dinner, the grandparents couldn't stop telling Devon how proud they were of him. Devon didn't blush often, but clearly the amount of praise being heaped on his was having that effect. After asking if they were going to come to New York for Nationals, a huge smile crept to Devon's face upon hearing that they were. "Did you really expect them not to?" Sebastian asked him as Devon shrugged his shoulders. "Face it Dev, you're going to have quite the fan club in attendance." Soon a smile crept to his face that reminded Blaine of Sebastian. "Think you can handle having everyone there?"

"I do." Devon replied. "Expect a lot of calls, as while we all hoped for this, we didn't get ahead of ourselves." When Blaine and Sebastian laughed, Devon tilted his head to the side. "What?"

"Remember how you were afraid we'd think you were all being arrogant with your song choices?" Blaine said to him and he nodded. "We'd already put our set list for Nationals together before we even won since they'd sent out the theme."

"You did what?" Devon exclaimed.

"You heard him, we'd already put our set list together." Sebastian told him. "So, you boys have a way to go before we could justifiably call you arrogant considering things we'd done."

"What else don't we know Papa?" Ainsley asked with an inquisitive smile on her face.

"Plenty, and it will remain that way unless we find reason to share information with you."

"You mean such as Uncle Nick telling Xander how Uncle Jeff would sneak Aunt Britt into the dorms." Devon's nonchalant answer had Blaine and Sebastian chuckling while their parents looked on, clearly a bit shocked.

"Jeff's merely waiting for the right moment to get Nick back for that." Sebastian said before taking a sip of his wine. "While we've been pretty open about things we've done, there is plenty you don't know.

"Plus this wouldn't be the setting for it." Gregory added. "While we know your Dads weren't angels, we'd prefer our memories don't get distorted."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence Dad." Blaine said to him, earning him a smile. "I could've been Cooper." When Gregory tilted his head, Blaine, Sebastian, and their kids laughed. "You know we could've been worse."

"I know. Now, Juliette would you like to ride home with me and Nana?" She quickly nodded, which was a relief to Blaine and Sebastian as they could be more direct in what they said to Ainsley and Devon when they dropped them off. "That is, if it's alright with your Dad and Papa."

"More than alright." Sebastian replied. "We won't be long though. And figure out what you want to do Juliette."

"I will."

By the time dinner ended, Blaine and Sebastian headed off with Ainsley and Devon while Juliette left with Blaine's parents after saying goodnight to Sebastian's. "Please tell me we're not going to get a speech." Devon said once they were in the SUV.

"Speeches come with you've done something wrong." Blaine told him. "So, no speech. Easy as it would be for either of us to tell you not to drink, it would be hypocritical. All either of us ask of you, is be smart about it."

"And don't mix, otherwise you'll regret it." Sebastian added as he pulled out of the parking spot. "And keep in mind, should you have a hangover tomorrow, you're going to be facing your Grandparents with it."

"He's not saying it to stop you, just remind you." Blaine continued, glancing back as he did and seeing Devon nod. "We know these next few years are going to bring to present plenty of situations that you're going to have to make decisions about. Papa and I only hope that we've taught you well enough to make the right decisions without us around." After he spoke, Devon looked at Ainsley who nodded. "Trust me when I tell you we each made our fair share of mistakes, we're not perfect."

"They only hope that should we make the wrong choice, we learn from it and not make it over and over again." Ainsley added causing Sebastian to smile. "Trust your gut, it'll help. If you think Papa or Dad would be upset, it's probably not something to do."

"I get that, I do. It's just…" Devon never finished, simply looked out the window causing Blaine to look at Sebastian who shook his head. From that moment on, the remainder of the drive was relatively quiet as each knew not to push him in moments like this as he was very much Sebastian. After pulling into the Wilson's driveway, Ainsley leaned forward and gave them each a peck on the cheek before exiting, leaving Devon with his Dads.

"Care to tell us what that was about earlier?" Sebastian asked as he as well as Blaine turned to look at him. "Devon, what's going on?"

"Don't get pissed at me, but…Tyler and I might've snuck over to Crawford a few times." Blaine could see Sebastian trying not to laugh, something he was thankful for. "I mean, we know we shouldn't yet…"

"You weren't able to help yourself." Blaine said to which Devon nodded. "Should we take this as your way of telling us you have a girlfriend?"

"No, it's…I…fuck!" Hearing Devon so flustered caused Sebastian turn his head as it was getting harder for him to compose himself. Blaine took a deep breath before speaking as he had to be careful with what he said next.

"I know you don't want me to ask this but..." Before he even finished the look on Devon's face spoke volumes before he responded.

"No, I haven't had sex yet." This time Blaine couldn't contain his sigh of relief which made Sebastian laugh out loud. "Awkward as the talk we had was, you each made a lot of sense."

"That's good to know." Sebastian told him as he gave Blaine's hand a squeeze as he was clearly relieved Sebastian spoke up. "So, this is about doing something you know you shouldn't be doing."

"Yes, as I know if I get caught you and Dad will get called or worse, Grandpa or Nana."

"While we don't necessarily condone you sneaking out or over there, we understand." Sebastian told him and Blaine nodded. "Has this mysterious girl snuck over to Dalton?"

"A couple of times. Though, we get time together when she's come to my lacrosse games."

"Good, so she comes to see you too."

"She does. It's not one-sided of that's what you were afraid of."

"Can't say that question wasn't going to be asked." Blaine said to him. "All we can say right now, is…"

"What I think your Dad is trying to say is, now that you're going to Nationals. Don't do anything that might jeopardize you not being able to go. You might want to mention that to Tyler as well." Devon nodded. "Why wouldn't you talk about this in front of Ainsley?"

"Like I need one more thing for her to tease me about."

"She gives as good as she gets from you." Sebastian reminded him. "Now get your butt inside and celebrate your well-earned victory."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, as we can talk about the rest of this tomorrow." Blaine told him causing him to smile. "Now you celebrate as Papa said as come Monday, it's back to work." Devon nodded, before saying a quick good-bye to his Dads and getting out of the SUV. "Please tell me you thought it was going to be worse than that."

"I did." Sebastian replied before giving him a kiss as they turned back around to leave. "I guess I need to adjust real quickly to the fact that he's going to start dating soon."

"You're not the only one Bas, yet neither of us are in the same place Rachel is regarding Jacob dating."

"That's because he's her little boy, always will be regardless of the fact he towers over her." Sebastian said while backing down the driveway. "Did you call Cooper, so he knows they won?"

"I did and he and Lexi are ecstatic about it and said they would spread the word." Blaine then reached over and placed his hand on Sebastian's thigh. "I know this might sound presumptuous, but I think they could win it."

"I think they could as well. It's simply a matter of how badly they want it and whether they're willing to put in the work."

Just a heads up, there will be one last part to this section as it would feel wrong not showing the boys at Nationals.
